I was pretty bearish. I did multiple 6 figure put contracts but the position I was most proud was NTP puts. Small Chinese property developer. There was chaos I was following via SEC filings but the market did not see it. Ran puts on them from \~12 to 4. Stock is now delisted. Really showed me that the market absolutely knows nothing. There were literal SEC filings that the company was in a hostile take over. They didn't publish earnings reports. Yet the stock still went up and down... was still traded. This market knows NOTHING and NOTHING is priced in.
I heavily shorted a Chinese company, ticker NTP. This is how absolutely insane our market is ... They didn't issue earnings reports for 2 consecutive quarters. When the NYSE halted trading the ticker the market cap was still 500 million. People were still trading a company that wasn't issuing earnings reports. I think about this every time someone argues about how intelligent the market is
Chinese property dev NTP, traded on NYSE, in process of delisting. They failed to report q4 earnings... or any since.
You can always get intrinsic value. I once held 500 contracts on $NTP. Their average volume at the time was 47k a day... so I held more contracts to sell than the entire daily trade volume of the stock. When I closed out I got exactly intrinsic value filled. Always an algo out there to fill you.
This is not true. I once opened 500 puts on $NTP. The total daily volume on NTP is like 40k. So my put position was larger than the total daily volume of the stock lol. Algos will fill everything.

Very interesting company if you look at the recent news. Essentially was a shareholder rebellion that overthrew the old board but old board wont give up control of assets. It was the right play but the chaos that ensued might duck me over if they never report earnings

Their partner, Kaisa, which owns 25% of the stock is in default. They were supposed to release earnings last week but did not due to the chaos. This shithole of a stock rose 10% today. WTF totally normal totally natural.
$NTP might announce earnings on Friday. Several websites say so... if so loading on puts for Friday. I have a feeling they wont be reporting on Friday though. Their investor relations doesn't have anything about reporting and when I emailed they did not respond.

My thesis was that they would have a big dump. Well.. it started looking great. The company is in chaos. The old board was overthrown and the new board can't get control of the companies assets and financial data... I was stoked. But now.. it looks like they just aren't going to report earnings because they can't. They don't have control of the company. So my question... besides investors getting skittish about the company not reporting earnings at the same time they have for the past 20 years, what can happen to them? How long can they withhold earnings? Is the threat delisting if they don't report? Wouldn't that take forever? I'm already well ITM, just looking for a big score when shit earnings come out :(

Thats a loaded question to answer. The best thing for me to say is- check out the dd I posted called “Addressing Concerns”. That is the best way to explain the near term PT. That said, to give a short answer.. it depends on the catalysts. This investment is all about the Driftwood LNG project. As appropriately notes in the “Addressing Concerns” post, Tellurian is in the best position they ever have been so Driftwood LNG is becoming more and more likely by the day. As explained in that post, I believe the stock should currently be in the $6-8 range with no news. If they announce a significant M&A or more clarity about the bank syndicate/financing, the stock should be over $10 imo. When they issue notice to proceed (NTP) to the contractor to build phase one, should be $12-15. Over time, this could and should be a $30-50 stock when they are operating at capacity. Risk is that they cancel the project (unlikely imo). Stock would be $1ish

You seem to think that it’s a “Murica” thing. Honestly most of don’t give a shit from the political end, we just don’t like seeing instability and red in our stocks. This is why many of us are avoid Chinese stock at the moment. Believe me, I was very bullish on $NTP for April and May. But white China doing crackdowns and what not, it makes people be wary of potential growth and stability of their stocks.

For a few months $NTP was an amazing stock that had constant growth for about 3 months. It went from the low 10s to about 40. I made very consistent gains with them until mid June. When it shit the bed. Was one of my personal favorites during time span. The thing about Chinese stocks, is that they usually have great runs, but are very volatile to any news the CCP does in regards to stocks.

Yep, I have very big dislike for the CCP. But investing into $NTP in May and early June made me a lot of money. Since it was always going up, until recently. The stock went from $9 to $37 in just about two months. It was fun seeing the gains, but I always felt dirty knowing it involved the totalitarian CCP is some sort of way.
Not going to lie, Puts on $NTP look very tempting. They have been going down for the past week or so. From high $30s to mid $20s now.
NTP, I always end up going back to it. In the past month it’s gone from $14 to $36. And tends to recover quickly if it had a red day.
NTP/BABA for Chinese. MSFT for TECH. VTI for other. But in all honestly just a diversified and stable ETF for a long term hold.
Dropped $NTP last week for a more profitable stock. It’s currently 16% up. However, compared to my new current main stock I’m making double compared to $NTP. But still, $NTP never went above 15% when holding it for a month or so... It’s bitter sweet. lol

I have been investing in Chinese stocks, so far $NTP has been amazing this year! I also think that people are sleeping on $BGNE, they have had constant growth in the long run. Overall Chinese stocks are either a gem or a rough gamble. I really do see potential with Chinese stocks, after all China is the second largest economy in the world. I avoid $BABA, since it’s too political and volatile for me.
Won’t go into all of them. But my top performer was NTP. They are Chinese. Got in when they were at $15 in early May, currently at $26.50. They tend to rebound quick when they have a Red day. Since I bought a good amount of shares, they have been my portfolio MVP.
To name a few: NTP, YUMC, VRTV, and others. My current focus is investing in Chinese stocks and stocks I see as undervalued. I’m also trying to diversify in different markets and industries when possible.
