Anyone else seeing the trading volumes on OPI?

Has anyone heard of OPI that stock went from ave under 1mil volume daily to 300 mil on Friday...Its a REIT that suspended paying dividend sounds like trash to me
As I can not be online at open, I set my limit to 6.55 for ATCH to catch the dip... Hopefully this will work out? Swore to always find good entry points, or at least try and maybe still buy myself in at a later dip. But if you don't even try to get really good entries you can let it be all together. Other than that I am in ASST, OPI, LDI, RR, OPEN, AIRE, RZLV. I am very trendy

$OPI make DC office real estate great again!
Bought OPI way back figuring gov office space would be fairly secure...
Mattel isn't a toy company anymore. It's an IP syndicate with verticals in film, gaming, fashion, theme parks, NFTs, and more. Barbie made more money in theatres than most studios' entire slates last year. They've got Hot Wheels movies, Polly Pocket, Masters of the Universe, and even a damn Uno film coming. It’s in Zara, OPI, Netflix, Forza, Roblox, and soon at an amusement park in Arizona A 100% tariff on physical toys? Sure, maybe that dings a few Fisher-Price units. But the real value? It’s in the stories, characters, and licenses, none of which are container-shipped from China. You can’t tariff a digital Barbie Dreamhouse or a Mattel Films distribution deal with Warner Bros. Trump’s threat is a blunt instrument trying to hit a company that has already diversified out of the way. If anything, this kind of posturing just proves how little these guys understand what the modern version of a "toy company" even looks like.

DAL, VZ, AMZN, ENB, NYCB, DVN. If you're feeling lucky - ONL, OPI.
Thanks. Heavy into OPI this am. Looks like you didn’t go red F today. Good weekend to ya!
Oh I got completely screwed on OPI. If it's a high dividend it's going to be cut and the kicker is you have NO idea when it's going to happen. If you don't have a sell order in on that thing you're done. and even then it all happens in the after market hours. so if it's a high dividend you're DONE.
I don't pursue squeezes or do options, but I use an Ichimoku strategy. I use that to help identify something trending on the 1hr and 1day candles. I look at charts that were relatively stable (aka boring), or on a slow down trend. If it's the 1hr candle, I generally like to stay in for a couple days to 2wk at most. For the 1day candle, up to a few months. Target return is 20% in 2 weeks, but it's not a hard-and-fast rule. I have pulled out at 5-70% up. Bag held NEGG to -70% (long before it was being mentioned in a squeeze) I may break my strategy if the trend remains strong (GRPN for instance, $5.69 entry, up 126%) or I see a gap waiting to be filled (OPI for instance, gap in the $10-11 range).
Not penny stocks...too risky Assuming you are looking for an individual stock with potential for reasonably doubling or tripling your money in 5 years I recommend OPI. It's a REIT. That sector has tanked but it will undoubtedly bounce back. It's fallen from about $20/share to under $5. So you will be able to buy over 1000 shares. Additionally it pays a 25 cent per quarter dividend. So over the course of a year, buying over 1000 shares, you will make over $1000 in dividends alone. Set up the account to reinvest the dividends into shares and let it snowball.
Absolutely, OPI has gone down by about 75%. So I recently loaded up on it. In a year or two it will probably be back to where it was and I would have quadrupled my investment AND collected some sweet dividends
>OPI ...OPI and other commercial REITs are cratering - talk about a dividend trap...
Since it sounds like you are willing to take a big risk with 10K, open an account with someone like Schwab. Buy a bunch of shares of a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) that pays good dividends and then set the dividends to reinvest with a Dividend reinvestment Program There's one OPI at about $4.25 per share and it pays 0.26 cents per quarter. So you would own over about 2300 shares and get about 2300 in dividends per year. Of course, If you set it to reinvest it will snowball and be substantially more after 10 years.
If the vote fails IMO it actually drops a bunch. The deal was more advantageous to DHC shareholders than OPI shareholders, which is why DHC actually jumped up significantly from the $0.60-0.80 range it was in previously. Either way RMR is still around so it's a huge drag
RMR is a total parasite that drains the blood out of every real estate company with which they are associated. There is no sense in combining DHC and OPI, and DHC will be a piece of shit until they can get rid of RMR
Want office realty stocks? Here: PDM, Brandywine, OPI.
Commercial REIT focused on office buildings $PDM is going to report earnings today right after the close. Their most similar competitor who just reported, $OPI, announced a dividend cut a few weeks ago during their earnings…will we see the same with $PDM today?
AGNC, Annally, Armour, OPI, STAG Industrial, Easterly Government Poperties, etc they were all down when I made the post, there's been some bounce back since I posted
My work requires you to look at non-OPI reports and ChatGPT would have no chance. Then again, I've worked in industry and the general quality of work often isn't so high, so ChatGPT might be passable.
I have to REITs in my IRA OPI and DEA. Most of their real estate in leased to the government in some form or another. Figure they’d be pretty stable dividend income over the long term
They’ll be cutting massively and find new OPI funds. They can take the top talents and reward them handsomely. Musk will be fine. Talents people are attracted to building meaningful things and getting paid. Im sure his team has no problem finding and developing talent.
REITs legally have to give 90% of taxable income to investors. So, as long as they have a sufficient income, you're good generally, especially if they have good long term tenants. Also REITS are not qualified dividend income, so you'll get taxed heavily on the dividends if they're in your retail accounts and not your retirement accounts, so that 10% can be closer to 5% than some might realize at first. I like $OPI (long term government office leases), and i see it on sale rn. That's my $0.02
I am guessing that you are right. And if that's so OPI has seen it shoot straight up in the past like very few other tech stocks.
sure but they got away with OPI that led to a touchdown there were some bad calls but it's pretty weak to say the bengals were robbed. both teams played well and the rams just came out on top
Fuck you OPI, you aren't my friend -zjz

Renren, the once high-flying Chinese social network turned start-up investor, has settled with US shareholders for $300m over allegations of corporate misconduct. Dissident investors had accused the company of steering its best assets, including a stake worth hundreds of millions of dollars in the digital lender SoFi, towards Renren insiders including SoftBank. The settlement marks a rare victory in which shareholders of a US-listed, China-based company that had incorporated in the Cayman Islands were able to win compensation over corporate misconduct allegations. “This is an extraordinary result by any measure. It is very rare to settle a case for more than the damages that we originally pleaded,” said William Reid IV, an attorney for the plaintiffs whose estimate of Renren’s liability was about $240m. The shareholder lawsuit filed in New York state court was structured as a so-called derivative claim, in which investors sued the Renren directors for breach of fiduciary duty on behalf of the company. Renren agreed on Friday to pay $300m, less legal expenses, to ordinary shareholders. It denied any wrongdoing. In 2018, Renren’s founder and chief executive officer Joseph Chen created a subsidiary, Oak Pacific Investment, which would hold the company’s investment portfolio stakes and be separated from it. OPI’s assets included several early stage companies such as mortgage lender LendingHome and real estate platform Fundrise. Its most prominent portfolio company, however, was a 13 per cent interest in SoFi, the internet lender. Renren had invested $240m in SoFi, the private market value of which exceeded $4bn by March 2017. Renren shareholders were given what the plaintiffs described as a “Hobson’s choice”, where they could either buy into OPI or otherwise receive a special dividend payment from Renren. However, only large investors were eligible to buy into OPI, with virtually all retail investors, many of which were also Chinese, shut out. The shareholders who filed the suit argued that the $500m pegged to OPI was “several hundred million dollars” short of fair value, according to the lawsuit, in order to benefit the likes of Chen, SoftBank and venture capital group DCM which themselves had purchased interests in OPI. Minority shareholders owned roughly a third of Renren’s shares, giving them a proportionate claim on OPI. Renren had carried the total value of its investment portfolio at a value of $695m, which valued its SoFi holdings below its original cost even as its private market valuation soared. “These companies were acting with impunity if not diplomatic immunity in US capital markets and that needed to change,” said Peter Halesworth, a Renren shareholder who owned shares for years before the OPI spin-off. He launched litigation in 2018 with Hong Kong-based Oasis Investment, seeking an increased payout. Since 2010, a total of 239 Chinese companies have listed on Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange, raising more than $100bn. And while US investors got access to high-growth companies, Chinese groups would become a favourite target of US shareholders alleging financial fraud or self-dealing by management. According to research from advisory group Duff & Phelps, 70 per cent of Chinese companies that had gone public in the US chose Cayman Island incorporations. In the Caribbean nation, shareholder litigation tended to be difficult to pursue in part because law firms were denied the ability to be paid fees that were contingent on settlements or judgments. Renren had originally listed its shares on the NYSE in 2011, raising nearly $800m as part of a bid to become the “Facebook of China”. The New York court had previously accepted the plaintiffs’ arguments that the wrongdoing claims could be properly decided in the US due to Renren’s activities in America. Renren’s stock price surged 45 per cent on Friday, reaching a market capitalisation of $576m as shareholders anticipated their payout of the settlement proceeds. SoFi went public in 2021 and now has a $12bn equity value. The $300m is to be paid by OPI and Chen, according to court filings. Renren and its lawyers did not respond to a request for comment.
Freaking Brady always gets lucky. That was OPI all day, how tf was it not called? Ref was right next to that play. Complete bs

Yeap. SoFi bought back stock from the CEO and Softbank (in OPI vehicle) from RENN at a ridiculous price. SoFi is hence a defendant in the lawsuit as a beneficiary of the transaction. Its a huge ass scam pulled off (so far) by the CEO, Softbank, and DCM.

Holy shit, I need to look into this more. OPI is this decade’s new standard for nail polish. High quality product, very popular across all outlets (can buy in drugstore, Target, beauty supply stores, very common to use in nail salons because it’s viewed as higher end but not that expensive) Wella is a brand that I’m new to, but excellent salon quality shampoo, conditioner, hair dye, toner, etc. Those 2 brands alone are worth keeping an eye on this.
