There are many Indian stocks listed on the US market. One of the major drug manufacturer that even supplies drugs to the US is RDY. You can also buy an Indian ETF INDA . India will be the next China, I am not Indian but I am heavily investing in them. The only thing that can screw this up is their weird politics and weird government which is very corrupt.
RDY isn't losing money on generics. VRTX isn't losing money. Not that I'd buy either at current valuations, but the point remains. It's not an industry problem, it's an AMRX problem.

For buying Indian individual stocks as retail participant you will need to be Indian citizen (resident or non resident). This applies even with interactive brokers for India access. Hence if you aren't one, best will be nifty index ETFs like INDA or INDY, small cap ETF like SMIN. Also some Indian stocks trade in US. (HDB, IBN, INFY, WIT, TTM, RDY) and AXB (London)
