CEO has been very close with current administration, I'd imagine at some point this stock will rocket after announcement from WH. I began adding to a core position on this stock at $4.50 and my average is around $6 - I don't touch it. I sell puts on it pretty much every week whenever it is around $9-9.50, it's been great for swing trading. A lot of times it will rally on good news then dump at open the following Monday, I sell a ton of puts in IRAs and rarely get assigned. It's been a great way to stack tax free gains. IMO anything under $10 is a good entry, but I wouldn't be surprised if this runs back down to the $6 channel before ripping back to a new high.

I entered a starter position today. WH is in talks with Orion Resource Partners to create a $5B fund to invest in critical minerals. There is one public company in Orion’s portfolio - LAC. If deal goes through, a price floor could be established on lithium - similar to Nd with the MP deal. Even if that doesn’t happen, it’s a lot of new capital available to LAC.

The FOMC has is run by economics PhDs that have been one of the primary forces that kept the economy from going into a depression in both 2008 and 2020. They're still human beings and they haven't got everything right but for the most part the missteps have been relatively small by comparison. Let's just focus on where they actually screwed up for a second here. During 2018 and 2019 they did a rate hike prematurely despite some economic data softening resulting in a small soft patch which itself was exacerbated by Trump starting his first trade war with China in late 2018. In 2019 they didn't slow QT quickly enough and we had a day where rates really spiked in repo markets and the Fed quickly reversed course almost immediately. Exiting COVID era interventions was also less than ideal. There was a shortage of short term debt in the market as a whole due to the US Treasury overborrowing during COVID in expectation of a far worse economy than we ended up with and that led to a shortage of T-bills precisely when banks were in deep of them due to inflationary risks rising. That pushed yields near zero and shouldn't have happened to begin with but was again remedied fairly quickly by drastically increasing the size of the ONRRP facility. It did arguably encourage some longer term issues as some banks chose to gamble on longer term agency securities and treasuries to maintain some level of yield and were quickly left with unrealized losses as the value of those securities fell as interest rates shot up which led to the regional bank crisis in 2023 but no one was really forced to do that and a big part of it was an actual run on banks like Silicon Valley Bank. Obviously the interest rate liftoff post COVID wasn't done nearly as well as it could have been too. Concern over raising rates too fast, tapering QT too fast and a lot of genuine goods driven inflation data obscuring services inflation for a time led the Fed raising rates too slow and led to inflation getting higher than desirable. Odds are that would have ended this year were it not for the idiotic trade and economic policies of the current administration that have both tanked the dollar and directly increased import prices intentionally. That would have still been far better than what we saw happen in 1970s and 1980s, but it still wasn't ideal. For anyone who's been paying attention one of the big trade off with actually lowering inflation has been a choice between a more rapid crush of inflation and substantially higher unemployment or a slower trajectory like we've seen with a minimal impact to unemployment. The slow path was chosen because it was far less costly to have inflation run at 3-2.25% for a while than to bump employment up to 8 or 9%. Yeah timelines have slipped and price stability isn't great due to the schizo policies around tariffs and trade deals coming out of the WH the last few months but that's not something the Federal Reserve can actually fix on its own and in some cosmic act of dark comedy the man who actually authored and prescribed those idiotic policies is now on the FOMC himself which is far more concerning than inflation targets for 2026 slipping 0.4% higher.

There are a lot of risk factors not being considered by the current government. Your stance is the same as the WH's stance: "I'm sure it'll work out just fine, despite any evidence to the contrary."
