By madness I don't mean actual madness. It's more that I saw a few articles hyping Nvidia heading to $5T, $10T, $20T, by 20XX, 20YY, 20ZZ over and thought they were overly optimistic. Don't misunderstand, I've been very bullish on the stock since 2021 (technically since 2018 but was too young to invest at the time); my viewpoint has been that computer chips are as important as oil. But still - the AI buildout and the sustained growth from Nvidia in terms of revenue, profit, and share price, has been unbelievable. Whether the financing seems circular sometimes or not, this is a run for the history books and I cannot believe that every time I've gone "I don't know if we're going to get there." it's proved me wrong in a matter of months. By all means they *seem* unstoppable - but whether it's this year or thirty years from now, the party can't continue forever. I just hope I will hang on long enough to profit as much as I can.

I see a lot of users here don't understand the business model of them. Here is a quick overview from YY Group's own sub. YY Group is one of the most emerging corporations from Asia which focuses on the hospitality sector. The main part of their revenue comes from on-demand staffing. Think of them as the Uber of staffing, as their CEO loves to mention when explaining their business model. The work seekers register through their YY Circle app first, and then YY Group screens them to see if they have legal authorization to work and if they are up to the standards. Then, the businesses (hotels, restaurants, etc.) that need part-time staff post it through their platform, and the platform matches the job seekers with job providers. Based on the review of job providers, the job seekers are updated constantly, and those with better performances get better jobs. This system has proven itself in Singapore, and they have started to expand to many other countries and have become successful in their expansion. They also have started to acquire businesses (such as security, pest control, and cleaning) to be more complete as an integrated facility management (IMF) business this year. The CEO says their goal is to be one ready-to-go platform where they can serve their customers more completely, from cleaning services to security services. They have a pool of customers from their staffing business who are happy to work with them (it has a high retention rate, as the CEO says) who can also be customers for their IMF business. Their earnings increase year by year. For example, they made nearly $30 million in revenue in the first half of 2025, which is 50% more than that period of last year. They expect their revenue to reach $60 million by the end of this year. CEO said in a private meeting they have plentiful cash in their hand, enough for the long term. The only issue with them is that when they are expanding, they need to burn cash rapidly. Plus, they pay the job seekers first, then get the money from the job providers later, and this creates a little gap. These issues caused them to make offerings recently, but the CEO in a personal meeting said they don't plan to make offerings for now as they have plenty of cash in their hand.

Yep. Institutions have some thresholds to jump in that may include the insiders not having shares more than some certain range, market cap being more than a certain level, having some big names supporting them before they jump in, etc. I think YY Group will get that attention with time. But individuals don't need these rules and may buy whenever they see potential.

Could you please write your arguments, too? Maybe you have more reasonable ones. But, I have analyzed and thought about it for hours, went through news releases and SEC files, had a personal meeting with CEO to discuss their perspectives. CEO says they have a good amount of cash in their hands and expects increasing revenue. I wrote more about its fundamentals in YY Group’s own Reddit community.

>for the width/setting the long, I generally go 5-10% of the spot. What to you mean here? Can we use **SPY** (~$668) as an example? delta is ~0.5-0.6, so "20 delta" = $12, so a short strike of $668-$12 = $656, thus we have: **BTO** SPY 656C 10/31/25 @ $XX.XX But for the long, 5% of $668 is ~$33. Having a spread of $33 gives the second leg as: **STO** SPY 689C 10/31/25 @ $YY.YY But this puts the second leg OTM. Can you please clarify? Thanks!

Beware of FOMO and the “meme stocks” narrative! I saw the post about $OPEN and before you jump on the short squeeze bandwagon, let's look at the real data that the emotional narrative ignores. * "Short interest" is a signal for alarm, not celebration. Yes, 37.93% of the stock is shorted. Why do you think institutional and professional investors are betting massively against this company? Because fundamental analysis probably shows that $OPEN's current valuation is completely disconnected from its financial reality. *Let's talk about the numbers that matter. According to its latest quarterly report (10-Q), $OPEN presents: * Stagnant or declining revenue: In the last year, your revenue has fallen by X%, despite the hype. * Growing operating losses: The company continues to lose money, with a net loss of -$XX million in the latest quarter. * Weak balance sheet: Long-term debt is $YY million, while operating cash flow is negative. This is not the profile of a solid company, but rather one that is struggling to stay afloat. * The "short squeeze" is not an investment plan. The 300% price increase in July was not based on company growth, but on speculation and panic by short sellers. A short squeeze is a temporary event. Once the frenzy dies down, the stock price falls again, and those who buy at the peak are the ones left with the bagholder. The share price at this moment is already at historical levels, without any fundamental change to justify it. * "Rent in the metaverse?" - It's pure smoke. This phrase is a combination of buzzwords without any basis. The company has not presented a credible business plan on how to monetize the "metaverse." It is a tactic to attract retail investors with futuristic promises, while the company's finances deteriorate. Conclusion: This is not a case of "retailers vs. shorts," but of investing with brains vs. invest with emotion. Don't let the emotional narrative blind you to the reality that $OPEN is a disproportionately valued company with real financial problems. Your hard-earned money deserves an investment based on data, not memes.

this is more of a broad approach to negotiation discussion but to avoid that, negotiate harder means don't stop after you see a posted rate structure. call them, speak to a human, and tell them what you want. i would always start by getting them to give you the first number, then negotiate off that. you need to have a few strings ready to pull and use them as threads - "if we can't come to an agreement, which i really would prefer, I might have to pull my money and move into a more favorable broker". part of that is doing your best to come with something for them to match - otherwise they can easily call the bluff. so I shopped at different brokers, who have a much higher incentive to GET your money (which is why a lot offer different promotions) and asked them what they could do for me regarding commissions if i were to bring in $XX and trade at YY rate. take the best you can find and bring to your broker. btw this applies to life, not just brokers. it's relative and requires some contextual understanding, some things are hard and fast - but it never hurts to ask.

Pretty sure last time those tariffs and trade wars weren't oriented towards America's greatest allies and trade partners. It's one thing to target China (and in many ways, he successfully got much of Canada and Europe on board this train). But now he's targeting Canada, Mexico, and Europe. And seemingly done to the benefit of.....Russia? While also imposing a smaller tariff on China than he is on Canada.... China was never really exporting critical goods to the USA like Canada was. They weren't giving you lumber, aluminum, oil, electricity, uranium, and potash like Canada is. These are pretty vital ingredients. And the USA uses these resources to then manufacture goods and sell them back to Canada and the world. With oil, you make a substantial global profit when you refine Canadian oil. Even if Trump were to apologize for the tariffs and trade war and promise to play nice with Canada/Europe, I doubt it will take any less than 3 years to recover that trust. Capitalism is based on trust. Trade is based on trust. You need stability and assurances in a system of trade. I need to know that if I pay you XX, you will provide me YY in return. I need to know that if I've been wronged, I have a tribunal system available to call upon to settle the matter fairly. I need to know you'll actually respect the end result of said tribunal. Take away all this trust and assurance, and capitalism falls. Basically Trump is Joker.

Tough to say really. Baidu also broke off the acquisition of their Chinese TikTok clone they bought in 2021, that's a huge piece of the cash balance. Short report that came out today mentions this. They say they might need to return $1.4B, but I read through the merger docs last week and wasn't able to find what the break up fee would be. I wouldn't be optimistic of $YY getting the upper hand in a legal battle. But I also don't know anything about M&A law in China. But even if it's $2B pile of cash. I highly doubt they maintain profitability following this. Advertisers won't want to work with them going forward if the app is re-instated. Their SG&A expenses are ~$200M/quarter, so they won't be around long. Key risk to short thesis would be they get the short-form video app back and it's actually highly profitable. I have my doubts here though about long-term viability of it, however.

We have a volatile market, but going long, the vix is not wise The VIX always and i mean 'ALWAYS ' reverts to the means, and that is 11-12 (may take a month or two, but it will revert to the means) but for a better explanation, look at the UVXY Why the UVXY always reverse splits and will do so again . The thing that " is evident in the long-term charts of UVXY and VXX. These funds have a nasty tendency of absorbing negative roll yield for most of their existence. Because both UVXY and VXX purchase short-term VIX futures, they have to sell the front month futures and buy the back month futures. They must do this regularly. However, the term structure of these futures is usually in contango, which means the front month is cheaper than the back month. The fund pays out this difference to the market in exchange for the convexity offered by the VIX futures in the event of a market selloff. The negative roll yield is effectively an insurance premium paid for protection from a market crash. There is no free lunch. "The UVXY, and UVIX plus a few other etfs are known as widow makers. They always reverse split. SVIX and / or SVXY are the safest bullish bets in the market at present . These short the rise we saw in the recent VIX spikeOur stock market fundamentals are strong, with 79% of reporting companies beating earnings solidly. The recent volatility , imo, was a reset of multiples or a " correction " that offered up some very good dips on high quality stocks. NVDA hit 90 and that was some 17 points ago. There are many other examples we could cite.Guidance for our S& P companies are solid and the thing most are overlooking is that the growth and guidance suggest forward pe ratios that are still reflective of investment grade criteria

The screenshot does not include the details of the position structure. Just that it is a 3-legged TSLA trade. Can you write out the actual trade position in text please? Something like -1 TSLA 100/101/102c MM/YY @ $X.XX? > This trade seems too good to be true, am I making an elementary mistake and missing something? Without the position details I can't say much, but what exactly is it that you think is so hard to believe? Every short call fly looks like this, so I'm not seeing what the big deal is. It would be nice to know what the buying power reduction would be to open this trade. We could estimate this if we had the position details, but alas ... Let's say it costs you $1000 to open this trade. So your ROI is $22/1000 = 2.2%. You could make 5% risk free by putting $1000 in a money market fund, so that means this trade would be a **opportunity cost** of -2.8%, and carry risk with it on top. The BP reduction needs to be less than $22/X = 5%, X = $440 for it to start making sense, but that's not account for the $477 of risk. In terms of ROR, you got $22/477 = 4.6%, so you *still* are not beating the 5% risk-free rate. So why is this fly a big deal?

I didn't see any serious answers that actually understand the problem and solution. The closest was the person saying personal and government finance is different. The real plan is that it isn't right now a problem. Let's start with what those loans really are. Those loans are a piece of paper (now often electronic) that basically says "On DD/MM/YY pay the owner of this paper $Z". These are valuable based on that future date. So a paper that pays in 6 years may be worth 60% of what it pays. And buying or selling those papers at that price is seen as fair. Also very interesting is that debt is very important for modern money issuing. That is the biggest reason for the US debt, but not that's beyond the scope here. This makes plan #1 to issue more debt. Each day the US issues more debt, and buys back old debt. All to manage the debt. And it is a very complex job. Fundamentally if the US sells a piece of paper for $1 billion, and buys back papers worth $1 billion dollars, then the due date for the debt has moved years into the future. Plan #2 is actually growth (many people mistakenly think inflation). Right now the 30 year T bill pays 4.03%, but GDP growth is 5.9% (2021 number). This means the US is investing in that growth, our economy grows 5%, debt grows 4%, effective debt has shrunk by the difference. Plan #3 is where things get extremely controversial, mostly because we don't know plan 3. Plan 3 is likely default. This would have catastrophic effects on our economy, but the Republicans like threatening default when there's a Democrat president, so it can't be completely discounted or ignored. Plan #4 would then be international bailout (this should be #3). Just as the US does sometimes for other countries that can't pay their debts, an international bailout of the US is a possibility. The reason to support this would primarily be to maintain the trading relations. The US with its huge economy grinding to a halt would be catastrophic worldwide, a bailout would be cheaper. Regardless.your are correct in considering the debt as a part of your investment strategy being over 100% GDP is generally not a good place for a country.

Another main question you should be asking yourself is: 1. Do you want the tax break now (traditional 401k), or when you retire (Roth 401k)? 2. Do you think your income will continue to grow? Yes (lean towards Roth 401k), No (lean towards traditional 401k). 3. Do you think you’ll pull out MORE per year in retirement than your current salary? Yes (lean Roth), No (lean traditional). Many people like doing Roth while they make less money, as the tax hit is smaller. Then as they make more money, transition to traditional. If you make $XXX,XXX/yr but think in retirement you’ll need less at $YY,YYY/yr, then use a traditional, as you get larger savings now than later. If you make $YY,YYY/yr and think in retirement you’ll want to take out more at $XXX,XXX/yr, maybe do a Roth as you’ll take a small tax hit now but save on not taking the big tax hit later. It’s a game of numbers and of your own preference. For example, I probably will take out less per year in retirement, so I should do Traditional, but I also like the idea that the dollar amount shown in my 401k is what I’m owed, no taxes to deal with. And it’s also a hedge in case taxes increase on retirement distributions. But again, it’s your decision based on current and future earnings as well as preference in retirement.

> unless something big comes in medicine. I wonder if you are familiar with PYY3-36 used as an oral spray and it's potential to be something very big in medicine? I believe it can actually prevent obesity for most people, possibly without the serious side effects that GLP-1 and SGLT2 Inhibitors have. It used as an oral spray seems to be more natural in that it works in the saliva instead of messing around with blood chemistry, and is only needed to supress hunger during a meal. It would work for people who are unable to stop a meal, and therefore are unable to control the portion size. This is the type of eater who only has problems with portion size, a very large percent of the population that does not include those who get hungry a hour after a meal [blood sugar issues], not include those who always eat between meals [obcessive compulsive disorders] and not including those who crave a specific type of foods [food addiction]. If a PYY3-36 oral spray would be developed beyond the clinical studies and approved, it would be extremely popular because it may actually prevent the diseases related to obesity. Here is information and research, but PYY3-36 as an oral spray seems to be abandoned or ignored because the whole health care industry doesn't seem interested in helping the millions of people who are still healthy but just want to get rid of just a few extra pounds long before they develop any serious health problems: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3189958/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peptide_YY

This was the cost of tuition. To be fair, that's quite cheap considering the skills and experience you were just exposed to relative to other institutions and their costs. It happens to everyone. Now you have some real life experience in the market. You can either quit because you may feel that it's not for you or use this to have a better and hopefully profitable experience in your next attempt. If you do continue, consider the following. 1. Acknowledge that pure option trading is trading. Unless you have true long term holds that you have options against, you're in the casino just like everybody else. 2. Be comfortable making assumptions about market direction but be articulate as you can as per your process. The assumption must be articulate enough to be actionable. 3. Make a trading plan. I will enter at XX price when the market environment is YY. I will exit my position when ABC conditions have been met. Be disciplined with this. A plan is useless if you don't follow through with it. 4. Be very wary of seeking answers to financial related questions in the internet. You have no way to gauge credentials or intent in reddit of all things. At the end of the day, you are the only person that can be made accountable for the health of your trading account.

FWIW, you can write that position concisely as: -1 SOXL 18.50/18p MM/YY (30 DTE) @ $X.XX (whatever the opening credit was). It's more conventional to write out the expiration date than just say 30 DTE. > Should I close the trade and cut my losses or let it ride in hopes of going back OTM? This is why knowing the actual date of expiration is useful. If it expires this Friday, I'd dump it now and cut losses. If it expires in literally 30 days from now, no need to panic so soon. Ideally, you would have considered this possibility as one of your what-if scenarios in your [trade plan](https://www.reddit.com/r/options/wiki/faq/pages/mondayschool/yourplan). That way, you'd already know what to do. > Am I at risk of early assignment this far out? Your risk is greater than zero for short puts, given how high interest rates are right now, but that doesn't mean the risk is a large one. It will depend on how much extrinsic value is in the short put. The lower the extrinsic value, higher the risk of early assignment. If I knew the expiration date I could look it up as a double-check, but since I don't ... > If early assignment I can hold the shares and exercise my long put if it drop to or below 18.0 correct? You could, but that would not be the best way to unwind the trade if you are still a ways from expiration. Instead, sell to close the long put for a profit immediately and then use that cash to help reduce the loss when you sell to close the shares. No waiting for it to go ITM this way and you aren't stuck bagholding shares at a loss either.

I do not believe PYY3-36 is a GLP-1 receptor agonist. To limit problems of too many side effects and lack of effectiveness, research should try to match the treatment with the reason why the person overeats. There are some basic reasons why people overeat. Some people are emotional eaters, some get hungry an hour after eating, some compulsively eat all the time, some are hooked on one type of food such as chocolate. I and millions of people can't control portion size, never had a BMI over 25 and I'm getting very worried that it is getting too hard to keep the extra pounds off. A treatment that helps one type of eater would at best do nothing for the other type of eater, and at worse would harm the other type of eater. GLP-1 receptor agonist are designed for people with type II diabetes. Semaglutide and Tirzepatide seem to target blood sugar and blood chemistry for days at a time. Some organs in there maybe begging for mercy. It has a bunch of side effects and some adverse effects so it probably will always be restricted to people who are very seriously overweight and have related health problems. [PYY3-36](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peptide_YY) works in the short term when given orally before eating a meal. It could be designed for people who can't control portion size yet still have a functional endocrine system and are not seriously overweight yet. It doesn't stay in the system long so there is less problems with destabilizing the endocrine system. I really doubt PYY3-36 will cause thyroid cancer, painful pancreatitis or gull stones, but it will probably help me not hog up the whole bowl of mashed potatoes.
