I hear ya. JT is having a temper tantrum on very public stage. I try to stay fairly neutral on the whole ordeal (I never supported either side), but now I’m getting pushed to one side against the Government.

Is it because you didn't look at the context past the screenshot and therefore missed the fact that JT was talking wallets on centralized exchanges.
My issue isn't related to the motivation, but rather the lack of process. If these people are found to be guilty in court, yes they deserve to be punished but this kind of carte blanche ability to remove someone from the financial system is dangerous and (in Canada anyway) fairly unprecedented. We have asset forfeiture, and even that is pretty sketchy and often abused. This is a whole other level. Something as simple as a typo could see someone homeless for months or years while they attempt to redeem themselves through our slow and backlogged court process. The dangers of freezing someone especially in a country that gets as cold as we do are not outweighed by the offences committed. There were many other ways to go about this, but JT went straight for the most powerful measure available, the emergencies act. It was only used 3x before this, twice for WORLD WARS and once by his dad for a relatively similar situation.
It’s amazing that both those for and against these protests don’t understand this. No matter how bad JT fucked this up, or how far past the line some protesters went.
I fully agree that everyone at the convoy hates JT and would love to see him gone but I haven’t seen a single piece of credible evidence about how there was actually a real threat or government overthrow planned. Reddit wants this to be some grand conspiracy so badly going off of the upvoted comments (not you - just some of the insane comments I see that get hundreds of upvotes). In reality it’s a bunch of blue collar workers mad at government that are being annoying that the police were dragging their heels on. Feds got involved and dropped the political version of a nuke to deal with a few dozen people honking horns and illegal parking.

As a crypto user in Canada it’s still a scary precedent. JT has to be one of if not the least honest(maybe trump wins) leader in recent history of western democracy.
