If FTX had all their customers' assets in short term T Bills then it would not have been a story. Go look at their balance sheet. Once you get past the tens of billions of dollars they had marked in SRM, FTT, MAPS (their own shitcoins with virtually infinite supply, but <1% circulating volume), you'll see the real assets they had left. Most of the stuff with real value was private equity investment in early stage startups. Not exactly something you can sell on your brokerage account.

MAPS and OXY by far. forced holding cause they're locked. Then serum and FTT not far behind (also force holding cause of ftx bankruptcy)

The company has secured $1.5 billion in cash in addition to the $1.1 billion it held on Nov. 11, and also holds $3.4 billion in crypto as valued at Aug. 31, the document said. That’s in addition to hundreds of millions of dollars worth of over 1,300 lesser known and potentially less liquid tokens such as MAPS and serum (SRM) I don't think the crypto market will like this. I doubt they'll liquidate it all in one shot but they'll most likely set out a weekly/monthly timeline to liquidate the crypto assets.

There biggest holding is in SOL which is worth more than 700M USD. Followed by FTT, MAPS, OXY, WBTC, BONA. This is what has been mentioned in one of the wallets that has been linked to FTX where they has activity of movement (No Selling Yet). I'm not to sure how much more alts they currently hold right now, I think we should be finding out if this motion is really approved.

Look at the shitcoins they have a "surplus" of. MAPS, SRM, FIDA, MEDIA... if they think those MAPS are worth $909M wait until they go to sell them. The whole market cap is $651M currently on [coinmarketcap.com](https://coinmarketcap.com) Maybe I don't understand numbers.

How do they have 1 billion dollars worth of MAPS, while the entire market cap is only 5 million? Do they just multiply the total supply (which is way larger than the circulating supply) with the current price? The total assets of FTX should be 1.5 billion instead of 2.5.

He obviously misrepresented the situation to CZ. SBF was listing his illiquid shitcoins like SRM, MAPS, FTT as being $10B+ assets. SBF was saying that FTX was solvent, it was just stuck with a pile of illiquid assets. Most assumed this meant assets like his stake in RobinHood, maybe a backroom equity position in Twitter, commercial paper, locked/staked ETH. You know, assets that have an actual market. Instead he was referring to shitcoins he created that didn't even technically exist on their own blockchains. They existed purely in FTX databases. There was also a belief that the hole was mostly contained within Alameda. So the logic at the time was to let Alameda go bankrupt (Alameda is worthless anyway, just a completely failed hedge fund). FTX was a real business worth saving. Even today, I'm sure FTX the exchange has value, but the problem is that value is less than the debt it owes out to other parties.

MAPS was the first drug company to secure a BTD for MDMA, with BTC rich Pineapple Fund donating $5 million and helping raise $4 million more to support MAPS’ $26 million push. So basically it's being funded by some rich bag holders.

Thanks, I have been trading with this method for about 3 years in crypto and 7 years in FOREX. You are absolutely right, some coins will only bounce for a day or two and then recommence their downtrend once again. I never allocate more than 5% of my stack to a single trade. And I rarely take more than 4 trades from a single day of signals. I suggested futures funding as one of the reasons to filter out some coins over others. Usually excessively short premium implies a lot of shorts (who need to buy to exit). Check MAPS and other SOL eco coins for an example of excellent buys from oversold conditions. I didn't mention exit strategies because it's a personal choice but I have already written several times about how I [exit the market using this screener](https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/tax1vr/how_i_exit_the_crypto_markets_profitably/). I assumed (wrongfully) that people would recognize my writing from before. But yeah, trading is hard and most people here are not making money so they just want to argue about easy topics and play obscene meme games in hopes that one day they will simply get "lucky."

OK yeah in that case I agree. I thought you were saying that they were dumping dot which I didn't understand as it was locked away. Whereas I fully understand and agree that any project they back in polkadot in the auction will then pump and they can dump the coins if that's in their interest. They need the dot coins to do it though. So in this case VC capital should mean sustained prices at least until the end of those 48 wks and probably into the future as they access more parachain auctions and Dot projects. In terms of Sol I think I read that post before. I don't really see where it deals with how investors in sol are also invested in other Sol-reliant projects like MAPS or FTX. Doesn't this mean it makes it illogical to pump and dump as it will be detrimental to their other investments? I also noticed that it doesn't mention the NFT market, or how sol is being used to access new projects on Solana and how loads of projects are starting there. If you need sol to access those projects then that adds buying pressure to my mind not selling pressure. I do expect the price of sol to fall heavily when the end of the cycle comes just due to its massive gains but many of the VC's seem to have a vested interest in seeing it survive and prosper "long term" (for crypto at least until the next cycle) before making their returns.

I'd find a block chain you like and then a project on that. For example I got Audio (think the gains might be running out soon on that, very volatile) and MAPS on Solana. Solana has served me very well. I'm considering a project on dot, waiting on the parachain auctions. Above all buy something that, if everything crashes, you will be happy to stake for a while and hold onto. (Consider whether the exchange you buy on allows you to stake without moving it about.) Basically not shit coins or things you think might go up in price but don't actually understand/think are good projects.
