Someone said DG calls so im in 110c expiring friday but what exactly is the thesis here i know nothing about this company
DG. With the economy a dumpster fire think they’ll do pretty well.
Congrats to all the HPE winners. I was scared and got burned for half my portfolio today and chose DG to hopefully win tomorrow morning
HPE - Earnings report and enterprise AI services. KR - Long term hold in case of recession. DOCU - Earnings report coming up, looks like annual plateau. DG - Dollar tree jumped 10% on earnings report last week. I figured DG might do the same this week. SPCE - One share to start DCA long term. Small investment in all of them to minimize risk.
DG CALLS earnings tomorrow before open

No clue, haven’t looked into DG like that.
What do you think about DG strike around $121?
PL calls, DOCU calls, DG calls. HPE…not sure yet. Not a bad week. Plenty of plays.
What do you think about DG 120 calls expiring Jun 5
HPE calls, crdo calls, DG calls….or the legendary SpaceX calls for Monday opening bell? One of these 4 is getting a full length porting while I Jork it to calm down

We’ll see a boom in DG in the next few months
Now that ASTS and CRSR have calmed down for a bit, what else are yall watching today? DG, CLF, NOW, SOUN
I’m still faithful in DG, I can see the trend
Buying into DG before it gets up there, it’s definitely gaining momentum
DG is looking funny, but I’m thinking it’s gonna 🚀
Rolly Royce, rheinmetal, airbus, 2DG, Barclays , Lloyds
On another note, DLTR was up 18% today off earnings. I had mentioned the DLTR/DG dip a month ago as one to take note of. Glad to see the classic strat of buy the dip on the out of favor sector played out well again. Now onto the next. There's always a deal somewhere, just gotta find it.
Also sold little bit of high flying stocks and bought UL and KR. Going to get some DG. I think DG is a better staples pick.
Real talk my ninja, when fuking Walmart says that "people may be spending less" it is roughly the same as straight-up saying we are already in a recession. If $DG gives similar investor guidance you should start stockpiling canned goods and water.
What do you call the DG 5 day chart
I should say, I also hold WMT and DG, so I feel I still have good exposure in this sector. Was also looking at TJX and ROST, but I think I'll hold off for now.
DG 160 to 100 in a couple months.
The joke about dollar general building their stores where murders happen isn’t even a meme, I worked an arson murder once as a firefighter and a year later they built a DG across the street lmao. Victim was Native American woman so federal ATF agents responded. I had no idea they investigated federal arson crime.
Hopefully 2DG and cerebras will join our merry band of semis soon
Look at TSCO DG MCD
YOLO into DG, I heard they sell CHIPS there!!
Everything is drilling except SPY and QQQ. WMT DG TGT PEP GIS GM. What is going on
Anyone looked into 2DG? Looks to be in their early stages with deals lined up with marvel and AMD. Heard a lot of talk about them so opened a small position this morning, will do some more research today before putting down more.
Full porting into Dollar General DG
Like you too. Buying my first cash secured put things tomorrow. Not sure on what yet, maybe like DG, HD, NFLX... something kinda boring, safe, beaten down. Im ready to do some testing!!
Alright so I'm up to a bunch of dips that I'm now eyeing up. AMTM, DE, some set of defense/aero names - GD/GE/TXT/NOX, dollar stores maybe DG/DLTR, LLY, and healthcare as well - THC/UHS. Gotta start picking between all these to slowly start adding positions lmao

Dollar General Corp. (DG) has filed to become an AI space company!!!!! Let’s fucking gooo!!
I can talk about how it will affect DIS earnings. higher gas, less tourism, less disposable income. WMT might be a buy. and DG
Ok I’m buying DG calls lmao
Dollar tree has 1 liter bottles of jarritos sodas for $1. Best soda you can buy and it's cheaper than any other soda for that price. It's the 1 magical deal I've found there. DG is god awful true crap items.
I'd be careful shorting ROST just because it ran. Off-price tends to catch trade-down demand and they can flex inventory/margins way better than DG, so you might just be betting on a clean earnings miss and multiple compression at the same time.
Who here was holding DG?
DG still managed to be red that day! 🫡
Heard they’re at DG now. Waiting to link up with Marines from Cali coming over
Shares. I only do shares, but I don't mess around either. Let's see, in no order: ELF, MU, ALAB, SHOP, AAL, AMZN, DG, CLF, NVDA, AAPL
I think DG is a little farther than 4000km
My INDA puts gonna print a lil. I saw that they were cheapee than that guy's DG thesis, lol
Ummmm…… didn’t DG do really well last time the economy was in the shitter? I would say fleeing to DG is more fleeing from….. I’m buying calls.
To add on to this, budget stores such as DG and Dollar tree tend to preform better during bad economic times because they are seen as replacement for more expensive stores. Nobody goes to Dg regularly because they are in a good financial place.
I absolutely despise DG. It sells the worst options for everything. If you need some tylenol they'll sell you 5 pills for $3 or you can go to literally any other store and get 250 for $10. Everything is cheaper there but the value is horrendous. Most of the shelves are stocked with garbage, freezers and fridges are empty. I've never seen a store with more paper signs written in crayon. Its one of the worst establishments in the country and I actively avoid it and loathe every second i end up there. And I still give them like $10/month. I would never bet against them.
I don’t think it would be trip frequency as much as it would simply be less money to spend. There’s a DG every 2 miles around here (rural).
That’s dollar tree, they specifically pivoted to suburban areas. DG’s customer base is very different
Inflation is not gonna run so hot in the next three months that it’ll hurt people who are currently not DG customers enough to force them to shop cheaper. It’s the lowest class, DG’s current customers, that get hit the hardest by expensive gas prices. They are going to reduce their frequency by a lot if gas prices are high
I disagree on the trip frequency part, which is basically the main thesis of my short: it’s not that the people that are hit hardest will switch to walmart or buy substantially less per trip, but the total amount of trips they do will consolidate. So they batch their trips but DG’s format is optimized for small trips, so that will hurt them. And if they do batch them, they might as well go to walmart for their consolidated trips as those stores are more suited for that
High gas has the opposite effect on trip frequency. If you live in a rural area and gas is expensive, then you're going to go to DG to avoid driving out to the grocery store. They've also gone to this DG Market model where some stores have produce and other fresh foods to save a trip to the grocery store. Another reason DG is built to thrive in a bad economy is that they buy up the building or take over the lease when other businesses shutter. So they'll be moving into all the independent grocery stores, pharmacies, and other businesses that get pwned by the bad economy. They also have a leg up on other dollar stores because they're the only ones that sell baby formula. You still have a decent chance to print these, though. Even though your thesis is completely nonsensical, and this company is built for precisely the economic downturn you're describing, your one saving grace is that it's a shitty company whose clientele is comprised of a bunch of stupid obsolete hicks who don't realize that they're on Medicaid and that EBT and food stamps are the same thing. Pretty much any socioeconomic shock is going to destroy any hope rural America ever had of surviving the next decade. Any that were small business owners are currently dying of a preventable disease and selling their crappy business to pay for treatment, and their next generation are uneducated as well as unskilled. Farms are boned because we're getting rid of cheap migrant labor. So you have that going for you.
Hence my bet that DG is gonna suffer from high oil prices. I see this lasting way longer than people expect
Trip frequency decline as in many stores are in the middle of nowhere, lots of customers need to drive far. If gas costs more than what you’d spend on an avg visit to DG (most customers buy small amounts at DG), the amount of trips reduces significantly
EBT only covers food, which is low margin anyway. it also doesn’t offset the trip frequency decline, which imo is the biggest risk for DG if gas prices stay elevated
Yup and DG stores are not built for big weekly trips, that’s what Walmart is for. So reduced visit frequency is one of DG biggest risks
DG doesn’t gain many new customers in a crisis. People don’t switch from walmart to DG, walmart is already cheap. DG mainly just loses its existing ones. And even if revenue holds, earnings won’t. 80% of what they sell is low margin essentials + they have a massive truck fleet which will crush those margins even more
Dollar general buys goes where big companies aren’t. I think they will do just fine.. the new DG market that opened walking distance from me will surely be used over the udf next to it…….. but to each their own! Small town no Walmart? DG is there 👑
DG is the only game in town for a lot of rural communities. Wouldn't it save gas for them versus driving 45 minutes to the nearest Walmart?
why DG specifically just because everything they sell is imported cheap stuff? I was thinking more along the lines of Wheat and other things, fertilizer etc.
Unhedged airlines etc are obvious. But there’s secondary effects of higher gas prices, especially for people barely keeping their heads above water as is. I am short $DG for instance because of that. Outlook was already bad before the war, things look way worse now
400k SPY short on Friday + 30k put YOLO on $DG. Things are about to break https://preview.redd.it/dv4y0zywx0pg1.jpeg?width=1206&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4652dd67a7b17045e5ae937fc11ab48c85d3983b
Same! I leaned into Walmart and Costco. I’m also have DG as well.
Dang, $DG is dying over here
I bought a can of soup from DG just to see, it really is 15% smaller than any other store. Held side by side it was 60 less grams.
DG higher sales, not so great forecast
People called me dumb for my dollar general $DG bet, who’s dumb now?
sold $DG puts spreads like a chud
DG Puts ADBE calls
Fell like TJX, Five Below, DS/DG all had a good year end. 🤞🏻
It made a doji on Friday. It’s also a defense stock, like VZ, DG, and LMT as examples.
WMT and DG both are up in the green
**DG has entered the chat**
Here’s a boring one: $DG (Dollar General). Bought them during the COVID era when they had a bad quarter it’s up like 100% already
Consumer staples and DG looking ok. The stocks that feed of the poor are rocking
Shit like WMT, PEP, and DG
Calls on DG, this is where people will get their groceries from soon
Bro, you can just look to see if defensive stocks are running, that’s usually an indicator of a short term pullback at least. Also, stocks in XLE, XLI, and XLU start running. TLDR: If XLI, XLU, and XLE are green premarket. That’s bearish. Defensive Stocks (not a comprehensive list, do your own DD, I’m not your uncle) - PM - PG - PEP - T - DG - VZ -KO -LMT 👍🏾

Dollar General (DG). People are squeezed and we are on the cusp of a recession in the real economy.
DG and TGT quietly green daily
DG is the new NVDA
Obesity in America is driven by food desserts, primarily in places where the income is below average and DG is the only "market" in a reasonable distance, and mcd's the only restaurant.
