If you research how aggressive the NFL negotiations were between FOX, CBS, NBC, ESPN, and Amazon you will see that you have to shell a lot of capital to secure said rights and the marketplace can be competitive. Also there are restrictions on what content you can stream, what areas of the country you can show specific games due to regional broadcasters receiving priority, etc. Streaming is a hard arena to own unless you have a monopoly or are the first mover.
