Democrats would've voted for Biden only insofar as he was their only viable choice. As evidenced both by Trump immediately breaking Constitutional law, disenfranchising their closest allies, and weakening America to the point where it may unironically start to lose its superpower status, literally anybody would have been a better choice. That said, Democrats recognised - as you said - that he wasn't a suitable candidate when they got serious evidence that he wasn't viable. It was supposedly more his decision to continue running than it was for the Democrats to support him, fwiw. Either way, Trump has been exhibiting the same behaviour that got the Democrats to bail on Biden for quite some time now and Republicans refuse to bail on him. So Democrats see their candidate being inadequate for the position and drop him like a sack of bricks. Republicans see their candidate being inadequate for the position and... continue relentlessly cheering him on and supporting him. Which of these is more cult-like behaviour, dude? Only one side is making excuses for their leader at this point. Trump has been gibbering incoherently throughout the entire election cycle and thereafter - if you watched any of his speeches beyond merely the FOX snippets that cut around him gibbering you'd see that. As far as Kamala Harris goes: she laid out her policy, budget, and plans ahead of time. So did Trump, eventually. Kamala's plan saved more money, kept taxes for the majority of Americans low, and reinvested into the US, along with plans to mitigate skyrocketing healthcare costs and price gouging by corporations. Trump's plan spent more money than Harris' (and Biden's) largely due to tax cuts on the wealthy, and his tariff plans would tank the American economy by acting as a tax on the poorest Americans who already were dealing with unacceptably high prices. Nothing in his plan suggested any relief was in sight for those Americans, by the way - he just assumed it'd naturally happen as a result of tax cuts, despite historical evidence that when you cut taxes for people too poor to pay taxes *you haven't actually helped them at all*. He also assumed he'd get a *ton* of money back by making cuts to government programs - $1 trillion to $2 trillion. The cuts DOGE made saved... $160 billion, and *cost* $135 billion to do, according to one analyst. So you voted for the guy who told you he'd spend more money, inflate prices, gut programs to help the poor and has a history of dismantling anticorruption legislation so he can, well, be corrupt. Not to mention using his position as President to get favourable deals for his children - who have secured incredibly lucrative contracts (and gifts) with the middle eastern nations he just got back from visiting. Sorry, dude, but the second you actually look at what people *do* and not merely what they *say* you quickly discover that Trump is demonstrably the worst option.

The debt burden is essentially magic money so long as a) Congress continues to raise the debt ceiling and b) our bonds continue to see global demand. Right now, it's that second bit that's threatened as foreign actors shirk U.S. Treasuries. Will that continue to be an issue after the mango is gone? Dunno. * The deficit being large is only a problem as it relates to the everything I just said about debt. As long as we're the world's reserve currency, America isn't defaulting - but that doesn't mean this position can't be threatened, and some of the short-term problems we're facing might rattle that a bit. * Comparing European doctors to American McDonalds workers is pointless and mostly wrong. Should've picked Wendy's. American doctors are paid exorbitantly in part because our medical system takes in exorbitant amounts of money - doesn't have anything to do with the strength of the dollar. I'm a bear, but your case is based on a bunch of malleable factors being static when they're malleable. The mango is a coward and will back away from his worst policies the second he starts to lose the FOX crowd, as we've already seen. And the whole stagflationary risk thing is, in my view, overblown: stagflation in the '70s was a partially a result of elevated energy prices. Companies literally couldn't sell their products for cheaper. Meanwhile, we live in an era with massive margins; if consumers stop shopping due to economic pullback, many American companies *can* lower prices. So yes, the Fed doesn't have a lot of maneuverability now, but they likely will if the economy worsens. We might be headed for a recession - it's my base case - but a catastrophic crash is unlikely. Crashes of that kind usually have an unforeseen inciting event (i.e. liquidity crisis in banking in 2008)

Another dirty trick is margin requirement manipulation by clearing firms owned by hedge funds, namely Apex Clearing, owned by Peak6 investments. All through 2024, Peak6 owned NVDA, then kept altering SOXL short margin requirements between 75% & 300% to invoke retail margin calls/squeezes at strategic levels. I think you haven't watched some of the MAGA interviews by MSNBC or NBC, some of them do regret voting for Trump. Not a lot, but they do exist. Then there is FOX News, which has always been pro-Trump. They try to paint him in a good light. This reflects that Trump still has "credibility" to report on. If he walks back on everything, there is almost no way to spin the story. Then you look at the trade deal signing in the White House. The advisories standing beside him always promote what they achieved.
