I go through information on the management team, do they their history like do they beat on earnings, what’s the history of each person in their management. Listen to interviews they have done, listen to their what, how why and business model. Go through the financials. A lot of this using AI now a days which is 10 times quicker than when I got started. YouTube videos depends but usually if there is some bullish crewtora I hear their points i listen to CNBC, FOX etc. about potential bearish point and gather my own thoughts. Last thing I do I make projektions for the coming 5 and 10 years using PE, revenue growth and profit growth. And of course as mentioned go through all the conference calls i can go through. There's this concept called the Overton Window, which is the subjects and arguements acceptable to the mainstream population at any given time. The rise of the right-wing media, from talk radio to FOX news to bro podcasts has shifted the Overton Window significantly to the right to the point that as of today, it is more acceptable to make excuses for literal Nazis, and openly discuss their ideology, than it is to support the idea of being antifascist and discuss the ideas of societal good and labor rights. A side-effect of this rightward shift is that media and political figures on the right continue to shift even further right in order to distinguish themselves from their brethen as they try to gain power and influence (and money). It also has the effect of pulling what is called "the left" further to the right where today what we call liberal Democrats are really just Republicans from the 70's, and in reality there is no actual left in this country as would be recognized by anyone in say western Europe. Meanwhile, Republicans of today are the equivalent of your crazy uncle at Thanksgiving that puts out his own newsletter and that no one took seriously...except they're in charge and empowered. It's scary that it's happening, and it's scary to look at this sub and see people who supposedly are serious investors and into sound financial data and policy just setting aside any common sense notions and excusing what has been going on daily for the last 10 months. There is a great podcast, called "Crimetown" about Buddy Cianci, and everything Trump does reminds me of him. There is a part where he suddenly decides to be "anti-abortion" to gain votes and later basically admits to a close friend that he DGAF about the actual issue, it's all about the votes. Every day I'm astonished at how little people can recognize deceit and how bad they are at reconciling their beliefs with their party's overarching policies. Voting for a party is akin to rooting for your football team these days, given the current reasoning abilities of the general U.S. populace. I’m pretty sure that many of the FOX TV shows are now considered entertainment rather than news since they lost the Dominion case. Much of FOX’s “news” was found to not be factual reporting. CBS may likely follow suit and CNN has had some issues as well, but unlikely to be as poor as FOX. Your best bet is probably ABC, NBC, and BBC for the most objective television news sources. Probably also advisable to stay away from cannabis YouTube shows as well.

I haven't been mountain biking since I was a teenager, but I've been cycling a lot in general again and I'm currently balls deep into building a hard tail. I just got a 2017 Trek Superfly 7 frame brand new in my size for $200. I'm slapping a Manitou air fork on it w/ 120m of travel; I'm building my own wheelset with wide ID Stans Rims; I got a great deal on 4-piston magura brakes; and I'm going 1x10 Cues u6000 for the drivetrain. (Yes, Cues is kind of heavy but it's durable as fuck.) I like the old fashion Gary Fisher "G2" geometry of the frame, so I made sure that the fork had 51mm offset & similar axle-to-crown length as the FOX32 that those Superfly bikes came with. But the Superfly was designed as a super light XC bike. I'm going for something that will still be pretty light, but that will be more trail/downcountry capable than Superflys were as they were originally equipped. The Manitou fork has 34mm stantions, which will help. Going with wide rims so I can go low pressure + tubeless. 4-piston magura brakes bc I plan on using their full capabilities. I'm totally okay with getting rattled around on a hardtail that has little front fork travel, but I just hope that I'm not about to crack this thing in half ahahaha.
