Yieldly is only like 6 months old, tinyman DEX launched like 3 months ago, Algomint and Algofi just launched something like 2 weeks ago, and wagmi DEX launched a few days ago. The DeFi space is getting fleshed out and you're now able to actually do something with your Algo! Eventually i started using the tinyman and I was so surprised of how fast it was and extremely low cost. It's pretty fun to mess around and I also bought some AKITA ASA for fun. As others have said, the unit price of a coin is basically irrelevant. Market cap is what matters. But, if it is small (< $1B) market cap coins that you seek, I suggest looking into: CKB, TRAC, and, for a very high risk / high reward play: Akita Inu ASA, on the Algorand chain (not to be confused with AKITA, the Ethereum-based ERC token).

Oddly enough, it is $AKITA on the Algorand ecosystem. ASA #384303832, r/AkitaInuASA. I was extremely skeptical during the first pump, and was kind of a loud voice criticizing. But, they have actually created a community with a solid volunteer development team who are building use cases, adding validity to the token and making it less of a “meme coin”. Don’t get me wrong, it is still a risk. But, the fact that it is under a penny now, had hit 5 cents at one brief point (was at 3 cents for an extended period), and had a market cap around $30 million, it has a huge upside for minimal capital investment. NFA or whatever.

Algo’s got their own memecoins. Recently the first real dog memecoin got verified (AKITA) and it’s just been pumpin. I got so much Algo from that one, bought in at .001 and i think it’s dancing at a cent. It’s a shitcoin by all means, but they got verified because they put down a whitepaper with a clear goal in mind and recently donated to a charity with the coin, and thanks to the verification pump it jumped from like $4000 or something to $12,000. This and another have a shot at hitting $1 if you’re into moonshots. Otherwise, I think when it hits my target price I’m just gonna sell for some Yieldly/Algo/Opul and stake them all.

The other day I was watching the AKITA chart on https://tinychart.org as it added several million dollars to its market cap, in a matter of minutes. I kept switching over to the Algorand and Akita Inu Reddit subs to see if anyone else was seeing this happen. As I sat there, watching the green dildos grow by the minute, it suddenly donned on me... "Memecoins with no actual use case or value proposition actually do offer real world value." The primary value proposition of a meme coin is its community. It offers a tribe. A chance for anyone, from anywhere, to be part of an in group. Memecoin social networks provide opportunities to meet new people, make new friends, and enjoy meaningful experiences together. It's a place to develop inside jokes. A place to co-miserate on red days, and spam the rocket emotes on green ones. And of course an endless supply of spicy memes that only dedicated community members would understand or find value in. The community provides all of these benefits and more, for free of course, as anyone is free to join; however, members who have actual skin in the game stand to experience even more meaningful connections within their tribe. Red days, green days feel different when you are invested and part of the community. Big news and announcements hit different when you stand to financially benefit from certain market conditions. Community members can also discuss the "investment opportunity" to their real life network of contacts, which provides further opportunities for developing tangible interpersonal relationships, however cringe it may seem. With money "invested" memcoin holders also enjoy the added excitement to potentially strike it rich, or suddenly get rugged... an experience not enjoyed by casual lurkers. When you think of it like this you don't have to worry that the project is a copy of another project, which was a copy of another project, that was made as a joke, has no whitepaper, is only a single page website, has no dev team, creator wallet is not time locked, has falsely promoted partnerships that didn't pan out,, etc.. etc.. because at the end of the day, none of that matters. Invest in whatever you want, but a bullish project is a bullish project. The only people who should ever get upset is anyone who get's rugged pull or doesn't make money. I always find the anti-meme coin stuff funny cause at the end of the day I know for every shitcoin I've dropped an ALGO on, projects like AKITA have already made up for the potential loss. What defines shitcoin anyways? If you're talking about performance in the market, that's wrong. Lack of use? Perhaps, but that's failing to recognize that's being worked on meaning this is simply a bearish moment in the market. People really don't get the risk here too, we're talking you drop $20 on one of these and depending on when you buy in and how popular the project is you can easily get much over 100% gains. These coins don't force risk upon you, you can put in whatever you want lmao. Akita is the best of the meme/community coins on ALGO imo because it has a 1 billion coin cap, high liquidity, no freeze or clawback, and an active community and volunteer team that'd developing it.

Actually these two things were changed after AKITA appeared. It was easier to get the verified seal before AKITA, or so I heard from other Redditors. After AKITA the process became more demanding. Tinyman didn’t have the hide/show unverified ASAs button or option. Following AKITA success there was a overflow of new meme coins and this feature was installed and hide is selected has default option.

Its a fantastic community, the governance is just one of the moving parts that make it work so well. The staking and official wallet are amazing, plus you can set up your own ASA coin on the network and list it on Tinyman much easier then launching a ERC20 token, which has led to some great projects on the ALGO network like Smile coin, Freckle and AKITA INU token.

I guess now is a good a time as any.. This happened for me with SHIB and AKITA. I first got into SHIB in early January with about $1k. About a week later, it shot up to around $10k. I woke up and saw my portfolio and my heart started racing. This was before any exchanges really, so Uniswap was the way to go. I didn't know about slippage or approvals through my ledger and spent an hour trying to get it to work. I ended up missing the top and my $10k dropped to $5k in a matter of 30 minutes I think. I was so distraught that I slammed my laptop shut and went for some air. Spent weeks regretting, but unwilling to take profits now that I had seen it moon. After that I thought, dog coins might be big this cycle, so in February I threw in around half an ETH on AKITA as well. In March to April, SHIB started making moves again and this time I knew about slippage! I sold around 90 Billion and got around 3 ETH. Felt good about it and walked away. Then came May and everything exploded AGAIN. SHIB exploded and my remaining bag grew to over $500k. My huberious wouldn't let me sell, I was convinced I needed at least a million. AKITA then exploded as well and my bag grew to around $600k. Totalling over 1 million combined. But that's what I wanted in both. (I'm a dumbass) I waited for a few days as it seemed like nothing could stop this meteoric rise. Then came Elon, followed by China news.. They probably banned BTC again or something? Things went down hill. SHIB plummeted, but I refused to sell as I had already felt the pain of selling those 90 Billion earlier which I now regretted.(Again, dumbass me) Akita dropped to around $300k, but I wasn't as attached to this as with SHIB. So I put in a sell order on an exchange, and wouldn't you know it, screwed that one up too.. AKITA started going down fast, and then I decided, well, if it's hit these heights before it can do it again. Repeat of what happened with SHIB. Then nothing. Over the coming weeks I watched as my portfolio went down and down. Eventually settling at maybe $100k for SHIB and maybe $40k for AKITA. I was hit by severe regret and disbelief. I would just go on walks and contemplate how it's possible to this much of a dumbass. But, like a good degen I decided to hold on to these coins, in what my gf describes as an act of moronic stupidity. I had already lost out on gains multiple times so in my child like refusal I would just sit there and wait it out. So I did. And that brings us to today. I like to think that I have learned some valuable lessons from this, probably not though. Greed is a son of a bitch. But, Lady luck has smiled upon me once again, and this time I've decided to take some damn profits. Ish.. I've sold half of my SHIB, netting me that $500k I lost out on. My remaining balance at the moment can bring me up over that illusive million dollar mark, and I think that's what's going to happen tomorrow. I might finally be free from these shit coins and count my lucky stars that this market does crazy stuff. As for AKITA, well, as luck would have it. Again.. That bag is slowly moving up again and I'm looking to be able to cash out a couple hundred k. I got into SAITAMA as well and that's performing great as well at this point. What can I say, I like dogs. Moral of the story, don't be a degen like me. I will never have this kind of luck again. And neither will you. Probably. But best of luck to whomever reads this, I hope you take some profits along the way.
