I built trading bots to trade coins like USD on the XRP ledger. Some days they made 2%, other days they did not. I traded things like USD, EUR, ELS, XDodge, etc for XRP and visa versa always trying to increase my XRP holding. It was somewhat profitable. I was not trading big numbers, just testing the waters. It would make money on the volatility, as these things do, if you time them right. However, after SBF and the fall of FTX, the markets just seemed to flat line. My bots would just lose value in the friction. Going up steadily does not make ready value, you need the trading ups and downs. So, I stopped them. I have not really looked back into it. I knew some people that wanted my bots because they could put a stop loss or some other criteria on them, because the crypto markets are 24/7, and most people should sleep at least 8 hours a day. My day trader friends would wake up (sometimes in the afternoon) to heart palpitations and increasing grey hair. Seeing this, I do not invest in crypto, but do play in it with about $10K worth. Most of my retirement investments are of course, in mutual funds and some individual stocks. I sleep better than my crypto friends do.
When XRPtoolkit came out 2 years ago you could setup a wallet with 20 XRP and use it to claim airdrops for free. The airdrop for ELS alone netted you 500 XRP per wallet even after everyone dumped.
XRPL is the XRP ledger hence the L at the end. The claw back feature is for issued assets/tokens. Analogous to erc20 tokens they are assets powered by the XRP ledger. A good example being Elysian ELS or Equilibrium EQ both good projects built on XRPL.
ELS was the only one I regret. Was still new to crypto and messed up setting the trust line.
I have to disargee with you on that. ELS and VGB gave me a couple of hundred free XRP (after I sold the AD).
3 days until XRPL has NFTs. The XLS 20 Amendment goes live on Halloween. Lots of cool projects. My favorite is Aesthetes ELS. They just launched phygitals NFTs that are tied to actual physical Art. They have traditional art auction business in Milan.
XRP, SOLO, ELS The last two will be excellent returns when XLS20 NFTs go live on XRPL.
Aesthetes gave out $2.5k worth of ELS it was a lot lower by the end of the airdrop. ELS is XRPL token
I got ELS in the XRPL. Definitely worth more than 1000K USD when I dumped it. Also UNI had a nice airdrop.
Yes, XRP is now branching out after years of stagnation. I mean it's notable, but not really admirable given how late they are to the space. It's like Apple finally adding fingerprint scanner. The Flare network is separate, so it's not running on XRP. You have to wrap your XRP to gain those functions. SOLO and ELS are the two I know that run on XRPL. With all things considered, speaking objectively, this doesn't make XRP standout enough to be in the Top 10. XRP itself has no Smart Contracts and no large ecosystem.
I have to redact my statement of them being worthless (aside from VGB and ELS) but I keep getting this hundreds of thousands of this calorie coin airdropped. However I did get 5800xSTIK whatever that is. Currently worth about 70xrp. So that’s a 50 dollar airdrop. Not the worst.
Actually there have been quite a few that did quite well, if you timed it right. FLR, SGB, VGB, ELS, and 5-6 others who's names I don't even remember anymore. Couldn't care less about these airdrops aside from FLR/Spark. I just use the others to stack more XRP.

For most you just need a self custody XRP account (think it’s 10XRP now to activate an account) and then setting each ‘trustline’ for a token requires a 2 XRP reserve (you get it back if you close the trustline). So for 40 tokens you would need 90 XRP. Most you get just for having the trustline so doesn’t matter how much XRP you have. Then a few reward whales (the more you have the more you get) and some are determined by your holding up to a limit (e.g. VGB gave you one per XRP in your account, up to 1000). You need an XRP account you can fully control to set the trustline, like a XUMM wallet or a ledger and using XRP toolkit. Lots of problems with exchanges saying they will support airdrops and then holding the tokens for months. And don’t get tempted to set up lots of accounts to get the airdrop multiple times, as there are teams of people identifying and banning/ excluding airdrop farmers. A lot of focus on it now, as ELS team messed it up and airdropped over a million tokens to one person with dozens of accounts.
There have been a lot of airdrops of tokens on the XRP ledger recently. Most airdrops are worth less than 1 XRP, but a few worth a lot more (assuming you don’t immediately sell) - VGB 400+ XRP, ELS about 1000 XRP and Equilibrium Games about 4000 XRP. And the big one was Songbird (and at some point in the future Spark) which are both part of the flare network (not XRP ledger tokens). These are based on number of XRP held on the snapshot date back in December 2020. For some this means receiving tens of thousands of dollars worth. I found out about most of the decent ones from the XRP sub and a more exhaustive (and less discerning) list from XRP Airdrops on Twitter. For most you just need to set up a ‘trustline’ for the token on your XRP account before the deadline.

Sologenic snapshot is Dec 24th 1 to 5 for Solo and 0.2 to 1 Xrp you are holding. SOLO isnt the only airdrop. There have been over 100+ last few months.
