Eh, there are legitimate reasons, especially given the mention of "propertIES". Likely the manager is over leveraged based on traditional financing and is now hitting the point where they need hard money lenders. It isn't necessarily BAD but it means they already owe people money. It doesn't necessarily mean that they can't cover it. Just that credit won't allow them more financing. It's very common in real estate investing. Having a lien on the property does provide a good amount of protection, however OP needs a lawyer at this point. Is it a judicial state or not (does a judge have to say you can collect before you take control of the property? or can you do it yourself?)? Does OP have someone to review the contract? Etc. Hard money lending can be a great investment. I like it personally, and average around 12% returns, all secured by property liens, but I also have people to sort out the legal angle for deadbeats. I'm also very specific about loans I will participate in.

I think is is my favroite part of the article. BANKS EXTENDED TOO MANY BAD LOANS. **"What do people tend to get wrong about the 1929 stock market crash?** The great myth is that the stock market crash caused the Great Depression. This is part of every schoolkid’s learning in social studies, but financial historians don’t think the evidence is very strong for that. The crash occurred in late October and early November of 1929. If you go from Black Thursday to Good Friday 1930, which was in the middle of April, the stock market was back up to just about the same level \[as before\]. People ignore the fact that the stock market had a strong recovery after the crash because it’s inconvenient for the story. So what was the real story? The banks extended too many bad loans; the banks were speculating too much. Milton Friedman and Anna J. Schwartz’s book *A Monetary History of the United States, 1867–1960* pointed out there was no connection between the 1929 Wall Street crash and the Great Depression. The Great Depression really began when the banks started failing in 1930, and then there were more bank failures in 1931 and 1932, leading to [a bank holiday](https://rooseveltinstitute.org/1933-fdr-made-gutsy-call-bank-holiday-time-repeat-performance/) when FDR became president in ’33. We didn’t have deposit insurance back then, so when the banks shut down, people lost their money. A bank fails when its assets become less than its liabilities and when people don’t repay their loans. The Federal Reserve as a central bank can lend money and stop that run on a bank, but if a bank is insolvent, it’s just going to belly up. There was a contagion when a few big banks failed in New York City, then other people got worried and drew their money out of banks. The 1929 stock market crash didn’t help, but for some reason it’s come down to us that the stock market crash started the Depression when there’s a lot of evidence against that theory."

Not even close. Idk why people think 08 was a reset tool of sorts. That was BAD. I graduated in 09 and had many friends with STEM degrees and even graduate degrees unable to find work. One of my parents got laid off after 25 years at IBM. Everyone thought it was great depression 2.0, especially after the lehman collapse and watching market hit circuit breakers. 08 was caused by a swiss cheese effect of bank overleveraging on the housing boom, subprime mortgages (especially). Lessons were learned (by laypeople) The bubble happened, but its clear its leveled out. There’s no more bubble IMO. The prices are here to stay. I did notice some tiny decrease in rents lately but people adapted as they needed and now we’re in a new normal.

You feel like because you bought it and the price went up, you are smart. Let’s take a look at how it worked out for El Salvador: 🇸🇻 https://preview.redd.it/fz4gj9cj833c1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2d3c2822af50ebdab9f0ec338a6f22330ccaff70 They are in the RED (loss) after 2 YEARS! Did you follow the court hearings? I will enlighten you! 1. Alameda used from the start customer funds that belonged to FTX, which can be labelled as loans from customer deposits. This was illegal and fraud. They went to great lengths (e.g. faking balance sheets, convoluted bank transactions, lying to investors and customers, changing the codebase of FTX to allow this) to hide this fact. 2. Most of the time there was a huge amount of debt (mostly customer loans and OT loans) while there were barely liquid assets (e.g. cash, coins) available. Why? Because they spent the liquid customer deposits as if it was their own money on various investments (e.g. in startups, on properties, paying celebrities for marketing, political donations). And they simply called this behavior "we are loaning money from our customers". What they should've done instead? Not spend the money and keep it, because the customers trusted them to safekeep the deposits. 3. When they were caught doing this, they created the quick and dirty narrative that they only loaned money from customers who agreed to margin trading terms. Because in their terms this was allowed (i.e. FTX could loan out their deposits). But this was a lie, because the total value of margin customer deposits were only 1 billion dollars, while they loaned in total over 9 billion dollars. So how come they have 8 billion more? Because they also used money from normal customers. Hence why they were found guilty of fraud. 4. FTX/Alameda did earn some money from transactions, but it was dwarfed by their HUGE spending. Spending they could only finance by using customer funds as loans secretly. 5. There is this other lie still around that FTX had enough NAV (net asset value) to cover all their liabilities including the secret and illegal customer loans. However, that is NOT true and a LIE. Why? Because the NAV was hugely inflated by SBF and his team on purpose to defraud investors. They created the internally so-called "Sam coins" like for example FTT. They owned huge amounts of FTT and claimed this is worth billions of dollars. But this value only existed theoretically on paper, not in reality. Because if they would've tried to sell all their FTT the price would've dropped to almost zero making the "value" vanish into nothing. So the paper value of their "net assets" only existed on paper, not in reality. They NEVER had the money to cover their liabilities. They could NEVER pay back the loans. Because their assets were all smoke and mirrors, it was fake. It was all these "Sam coins", which were worthless, but they pretended they weren't. 6. When their investors asked for balance sheets they manipulated them to make it look like their NAV didn't consist of only "Sam coins" and that their liabilities weren't customer loans. They literally changed the title to not include the word "customer" to DEFRAUD their investors so that they wouldn't realize it is just customer deposit money. But when the investors got the faked balance sheets it still looked SO BAD that they a) LEAKED the balance sheet to CoinDesk so the world sees it and b) recall their OT loans immediately. This caused the immediate collapse of FTX and the bank run of the customers. They went down EVEN THOUGH they MANIPULATED their balance sheet to make it look better. Even this fraud wasn't enough to hide how bad the financials were. You're welcome for this drop of knowledge.

it legitimately is different [https://www.ft.com/content/afef409e-f758-11e9-9ef3-eca8fc8f2d65](https://www.ft.com/content/afef409e-f758-11e9-9ef3-eca8fc8f2d65) take a look at the chart, you can pinpoint 2008 right on it even if you were to remove the numbers since 2008 the government has been spending like a drunken sailor and has not stopped since, the amount of spending being done every year is pretty much the amount of money they used to spend to get the US out of REALLY BAD recessions so just keep that in mind, that is the amount of stimulus that the government is doing is equivalent to the amount they used to do when the USA was in deep recession, and they spend this every single year now

My head hurt reading this post. You can't equate dollar changes of AR to net income. AR balances are going to be based on NVDA's selling price, net income is the bottom line. $5B of AR will not be anywhere near $5B of net income. Now onto AR balances themselves- if you have a great sales quarter vs prior, your AR balance will grow, it moves with volume, it's that simple. It can also move if you extend receivable terms with your customers but NVDA most likely isn't doing that considering how hot and in demand their product is so I would guess their AR balance is going up on volume (revenue growth) and price, in parallel with their revenue. If they actually think they have "bad debt", as in some of their customers are late and may not pay, you are supposed to write that off so it shouldn't be in the AR balance to begin with. I think you are somehow implying that you can't recognize revenues that are in AR but that is not true at all. You recognize a sale on the P&L when you sell the product, it doesn't matter what the terms of with your customer. They are doing nothing wrong in regards to revenue recognition. You are also saying a huge chunk of companies have higher AR balances but you need to see if that is from price growth and volume first of all, that is the obvious answer. If you want to make a thesis that customers in general are behind on payments you can make separately if you want to look into that, but that is not what you are saying or proving. If anything, a growing AR balance is a BAD thing for an analyst to consider not a good thing. It hurts cash flow to say AR is growing (if it's not due to just normal volume growth.)

Insane. Nobody should short, but jesus christ you should be looking hard at your portfolio and taking profits on what you can that's been priced to perfection. NVDA was priced for perfect economic conditions for the next 5 years. Congratulations, you don't need to own it anymore. You got a 5 year move in 9 months. Fucking take it and run. It's not 30% bone, but it's generally 30% muscle AND bone, with the majority of that being muscle. Even a small amount of bone mass loss is REALLY terrible news. Especially for middle-aged women (who seem to be the primary target market). Lose a bunch of muscle and bone mass right before menopause, you're never gaining the bone mass back because menopause and it's really hard to gain bone mass anyway. You're never gaining the muscle back, because middle age, menopause, and we already know you're too lazy to do it, which is why you went for a shot instead of diet and exercise. It's BAD news all around. You're gonna take a tumble in a few years, probably break a hip or a femur, and if you survive that, you'll probably still be severely crippled if not bedridden. Leading to even more muscle mass loss and fat gain.

Got passed around a bit today, but ended up with Sunyi Snow ([Ssnow@mwe.com](mailto:Ssnow@mwe.com)) who represents legal counsel for the deal (I also have contacts for the transfer agent and investment banker if anyone wants to dig more). They were forthcoming, although no props for contract writing skills or English comprehension. THE GOOD: Verified redemptions with float << 100K, but they do not have reversals numbers. I can't expect anyone would reverse with this situation/target, though. Nobody wanted this pile of post-merger garbage. They do not have a date set to finish the merger meeting. Another extension vote is certainly still on the table (3 weeks left). THE BAD: Zoomcar has not yet returned results of vote, but the vote happened and legal thinks they'll get approval on that end; however, there are multiple investment classes that EACH need to approve the deal, and it's privately held, so silence might mean good news (if you want redemptions) or complexity (or incompetence, which gets my vote as most likely scenario ... read the CEO's bio on zoomcar.com). THE UGLY: They are interpreting their docs different than a lay person/regular English speaker would. Article 49.8 says, essentially "amend the document, and you get a redemption window." The 8-K says "Under Cayman Islands law, the Extension Amendment took effect upon approval by the shareholders." Legal is claiming this means the amendment happened AT the extension meeting, and as 'everyone knows' this means the redemption window closed t-2, or SIX business days before the date the amendment was actually made to the articles. They say all existing redemption windows have closed, but new ones could certainly appear should they need to amend again BUT! completing the merger meeting with whatever terms they're currently hashing out with Zoomcar will not create new amendments (Which is patently false?!? 8-K: "The Business Combination Meeting was adjourned to a later date in order to allow more time for the parties to consider and finalize financing and transaction terms." If the tranny terms aren't final, they'll be changed, and that will require an amendement, non? I've sent a follow-up to Sunyi on this, but it may have been her non-native-language skills that created this kerfuffle, so I'm not optimistic.). There are still PLENTY of ways this could go back to NAV (I'm still expecting extension or failure to merge, but that's not investment advice), and even if it doesn't, it will be a very low float. My thesis has changed, but I'm only trimming because I spent money I shouldn't have. Otherwise, I still believe, particularly under $9.

It’s odd though. There isn’t really any BAD news. Just waiting on financing & extension for their Driftwood project. They are at such a discount to, maybe a buyout? There has to be some sort of news in the pipeline A lot of people are bashing the board of directors, but some of them have done fantastic things in the past, I can’t imagine them fuckin the dog with TELL. We’ll see. Just loaded up some more today. With the amount of volume coming in each day, something positive can send this the opposite direction. People folk into these kind of stocks. Even if it’s a pump & dump, it’s a great opportunity.

I’ve always wanted to be a doctor, lawyer, or some prestigious job. My parents have always pushed me. The result at 30: 1. Business analyst $60k salary, in the middle of hopeful job interviews right now. 2. Overweight, constantly telling parents “im going to the gym” and end up ordering fast food for myself to eat in the car before going home and eating dinner with my parents to pretend like I didn’t eat. 3. Buy bottles of coke, snacks, junk food and hide it in my gym bag/backpack and bring it back to my room to eat while I game/watch Netflix by myself. 4. Only have 1 friend I talk to and we don’t even really hang out. It’s hard to make friends at 30. Really fucking hard especially when I look like a doofus. 5. I lurk around reddit and ask dumbass questions but in reality I ask them because I don’t have anyone to talk to. Even now as I make this comment, I know I’ll go back to being a loser at the end of the day. No friends, lonely, shit job, nothing to do on weekends but game/watch netflix, no progression in life, no wife, no possibility of attracting women. 6. Don’t own a home/car, rely on parents for groceries, save my money just to end up spending it on losing stocks. 7. Fuck man, I wish I could be 17 again and turn my entire life around. Go back to university, take fitness seriously and go out and actually try to make friends. Everyone already has their niche friend group. #8. I gotta say this again. IM LONELY. I do not have friends. Most people at my age have their circle of friends, can have friendsgiving, ask friends to go out to eat at anytime. Go travel together. Ask each other for advice. God I wish I could have that SO FUCKING BAD. This hits the most. If I don’t have friends, even if I got a girl she would know im a sore loser. I got no one to gossip or rant to. It sucks. My advice if you’re young, MAKE A LOT OF FRIENDS. KEEP THE GOOD ONES BY ENSURING CONSTANT CONTACT. Have FRIEND EVENTS.

You'd be amazed to find out how much money yearly is given to north Korea by every country (including us by 'stealing' it) to say we don't work with North Korea is just to convince braindead hollow headed dullards like you. We do negotiate with them, every year. But yea,.support the starvation of children and torture of people because 'i don wanna work with bad guy's well guess what. We wouldn't make money off a war with them, so unless they could well never go to war with them. TALKS WITH BORTH KOREA IS ARE ONLY HUMANE CHANCE OF SAVING THEIR PEOPLE. But because it was yellow man you liberals dropped the ball and don't worry history will remember that. Just like the war in Ukraine we have no place in that is now forcing 16 year olds to fight a third world country with a 1st world military. If we really cared we'd take them in as refugees and not offer any means of killing themselves in a unwinnable war. Like we don't for muslims. Like the eu does for muslims. It's all a facade and a big game, we're getting back at them for the Russian missle crisis. Not a single politician helping Ukraine right now gives a flying shit about anyone in Ukraine. If they did we'd be housing them, not telling them to stand fight and die and approve them not being allowed to leave if they won't (don't tell me we don't tell zoleznski how high his coke fueled ass to jump) WE HAVE THE TOOLS TO MAKE THE WORLD THEN WE HAVE PEOPLE LIKE YOU, GOD OH GOD WHY. YOU DONT LIKE IT MAKE LAWS TELLS ITS SOMETHING YOUR PROUD OF, BUT DINT COME AT ME AND SAY THE COUNTRY IS THE PROBLEM. Ah, so .. -> BAD STAFF <- Your story has Nothing to do w/ the company’s stock.. $CMG is a STACKED brand & betting against them *especially long term* is like playing the knife game w/ a chainsaw… VERY FOOLISH! CEO: on the money✅ LTO(s): Banger after banger✅ Food: as long as they have what you need, it’s Always Delicious✅ Price: So Nice✅ Yes.. 10000000x Yes I’ve seen how strong of an impact the staff can have on a store.. but I’d say they just need to shake up the staff. ..Not the fundamental, daily ‘procedures’ that make Chipotle the powerhouse that it is. I Agree w/ you.. but then I Strongly Disagree. I used to go to a bad location near where I live for a while, & it actually was starting to ruin Chipotle for me. One day, however, I decided to take the slightly further drive to a different location. Every since then, the ‘spark’ is back! lmao ..but seriously, when it’s done right, Chipotle Mexican Grill is The Best fast casual/fast food in the world today :^) ESPECIALLY if you like chicken ;P

Because college (especially elite ones) run a monopoly/oligopoly. You have to get the books the professor tells you to buy to do well in class to get the job to even HOPE to be middle class. (let's not even get into publishers putting out annual additions just to charge another set of students $100+ per book). Prices at all respectable higher education establishments are inflated because there is demand for entry into middle class to gate keep poors out and create an illusion of exclusivity for the rich (nothing more rich/wealthy/elite folks LOVE more than exclusivity and dapping on the poor btw). Then there's the entire education loan industry which is just the housing bubble but with the government already backstopping all the bullshit loans already: * ~~housing~~ education never goes down in price * No Job? No Income? No problem! * What do you mean default? ~~No one would default on their mortgage cause they'd lose their home!~~ """"""You can't clear student loan debt with bankruptcy"""""" but let's disregard death, moving abroad, just not paying, stalling out while paying the bare minimum, being a homeless bum, working for cash outside of the normal payroll system, or pushing for debt forgiveness * Let's and keep hiking prices for ~~homes~~ DEGREES and since ~~pay pigs~~ """students""" have room to leverage up with loans!! * *"OHNONONONONO THINGS ARE BROKEN!!! Government please ~~bail us out~~ STUDENT LOAN FORGIVE THE LOANS YOU GAVE OUT or else things will get really REALLY BAD!!!!"* The real kicker is that higher education is no longer a guarantee entry into the middle class. It's decent but not guaranteed at all like back in the day. Hasn't been since the GFC. Chinese youth learning that now too.

Largest economy in the world is strongest and growing faster than anyone thought. Unemployment is record low. and this is BAD for stocks? Y'all need to realize that stocks and the market have grown and thrived under 5-7% rates before. Companies can make profits at 3% inflation as well. In fact inflation HELPS the right companies with pricing power. This is a stock pickers time. Not an index investor.

ok, gonna explain once more... One of the best things you can do for your future self is invest into low-cost index funds. Nothing terribly conservative OR super risky about them - they track an index, and don't generally do better or worse on average than the index. But over decades, if you continue to invest in them, they're fully diversified, so you spread out the risk among many equities and sectors. My core portfolio consists of a large, mid and small cap, plus International index fund. Large cap is typically the S&P 500 fund. Fidelity's FXAIX is just about the lowest cost fund available at only 0.015% expense ratio ($1.50 per year, per $10,000 invested.) This invests you into the total overall market - a little bit of everything. Also gives you more dividends and potential capital gains vs just owning a single "Total market fund", which doesn't always even have much, if any International inside of it. From there, I bought into some other funds that seem to be doing very well in other sectors, and the occasional individual stock, but those index funds are the majority of my Roth portfolio. I was lucky that my employer happens to also offer FXAIX in their 457b, so of course I bought into it there as well. I'm about to turn 50, and I don't own a single bond fund - why? Because I've been playing catch-up for the past couple of years, and if I want the money, I can't be investing in low-return items like bonds. Will I eventually move to some bond funds? Yeah, probably within the next 5-7 years, just depends how well my investments are going at that time. For you, being in bond funds this young is just a BAD move. Maybe keep what you have already invested into one or two at the most - bond funds, but put the vast majority of it into funds that are going to outpace the market. Here's one for you to check out - Fidelity Select Semiconductor fund, [FSELX](https://fundresearch.fidelity.com/mutual-funds/summary/316390863). I've owned it for just under a year, and I've already gotten great value from it. This isn't some recent "Oh look, AI is the hot thing right now" fund - it's been doing well for decades, and was created in the mid 80s. For me, this is an essential buy and hold for the long term, but you need to do your own research. Check it out.

The problem with high multiples is that it’s pricing in earnings expansion. If earnings stay flat (like they have for the last year) or go down in a meaningful way, the multiples get even more stretched and obviously that leads to a sizeable correction. If earnings take a 10-20% hit next year when the rate hikes start to bite and consumers stop spending, the multiple actually goes up 10-20% (math). So if we are at 20x forward today and shoot to 22x on BAD earnings, it has to retrace back to 20x. But it will likely undershoot on bad earnings, so probably back to 17x-18x. That’s a 20% correction…(it could get worse depending on earnings)
