Extremely unlikely. CEO purposely created this structure as he believes it creates value to separate certain aspects of the business into separate companies owned under the same umbrella. For example $KO = Brand and advertising, while they have $COKE as the bottler.

The growth framing on COKE is worth checking against the filing. Last quarter net income was $158.8M against $187.4M a year earlier, so down about 15%. EPS still went from $2.15 to $2.39, because the share count went from roughly 87M to 66.6M in twelve months. So the per share growth is the buyback doing the work rather than the business. Doesn't make it bad. It just isn't the same thing, and over the horizon you're describing that difference compounds differently.

Im not arguing about the current numbers, thats not what you look for in their potential to scale. What im saying isCoke has a lower ceiling. I can see KO eventually being a 800b to 1t company, but can COKE eventually be a 80-100b company? Their fundamentals and business is completely different, where coke has logistics and factory overhead to worry about.

If you’re in your 20s, I’d start with the bigger question: do you actually want a defensive stock here, or do you just want something that isn’t tech? KO and COKE are different businesses, but both are still a lot slower than what most people in their 20s usually mean when they say long time horizon.

The COKE prices we know are at least very close to what you have for Nov 30. If the TMX prices are similarly close, and those two stocks did not make up a huge portion of his estate, I don't think you have anything to worry about if you use them, unless you are coming out like $1 under the threshold and he had a LOT of shares.

Yahoo has split adjusted numbers. The actual numbers on those dates should be 10x what Yahoo shows and there will be a slight effect due to rounding. What that means is that, for example when thay have the price as $58.65, that would translate to you using $586.50, but the precise number could have been anything between $586.45 and $586.54. Either of those numbers divided by 10 would result in $58.65. I think knowing you are within a 10 cent range of the actual price should be good enough for almost any purpose. These prices are also within striking range of the $570.57 you have for November 30, so there isn't any obvious reason to doubt their accuracy.   COKE Nov 24, 2021 Open 58.65 High 59.99 Low 56.97 Close 59.60 Nov 26, 2021 Open 58.49 High 60.59 Low 58.05 Close 59.71   Investing.com has TMX at Nov 24, 2021 Open 39.37 High 39.97 Low 39.06 Close 39.72 Nov 26, 2021 Open 39.41 High 39.90 Low 39.00 Close 39.47 https://www.investing.com/equities/sermaster-g-historical-data The date picker control is a little wonky on that site, it takes some fiddling around.

Thank you for replying. Yes it’s definitely COKE. I have his October and November statements. His number of shares didn’t change, so no dividends were paid and re-invested. The price per unit reported on November 30, 2021 was $570.57 per share. When I search for historic unadjusted values, I get very close to that number, so I think I might be getting good data, but to verify I ask for the un adjusted closing value, but it never matches Fidelity’s number. So that makes me question whether the numbers I’m getting for the 24th and 26th are correct. Back in the day I could have gone to the library and looked at the Wall Street Journal for those days or the days after those days and gotten that data, but I don’t know if anybody publishes those numbers like that. I’m sure there are services that may provide it, but I don’t know where to start.

Mentions:#COKE

If the bank updated the basis at the the time, then any new records should reflect that. If they didn’t, then you will have to do the calculation with the high/low like you’re trying to. For COKE, your numbers may not match because you may be using the adjusted price but not the adjusted share count, or the other way around, when doing the math? Make sure you’ve got the right Coke company (there’s two tickers KO and COKE)?

For me it's easy. I have noticed most of the world is winner takes all - finance: GS/MS/JPM, beverage: COKE, Search: GOOG, Cloud: AWS, Social Media: Meta, Chips: TSM。 By buying the winners of each industry, you have the best chance of continuous growth, and minimal risk that they will go belly up. I for one, have been holding GS/MS/JPM/AMZN/GOOG/META since 2015, the returns vary between 300% and 1000%, with very few nights that I lost sleep. Of course, by doing so you won't catch the stocks that goes up 30x in one year, but I am fine with that in exchanged with peace of mind.

#TLDR --- **Ticker:** $COKE (Short) / $CCH, $KOF, $CCEP (Long) **Direction:** Down on $COKE (Market-Neutral pairs trade) **Prognosis:** Short 100 shares of $COKE, offset by going Long on cheaper international bottlers. Target valuation for $COKE is $130/share. **The "Why":** Algorithmic traders and momentum chasers priced $COKE like an AI infrastructure stock (34x P/E) because they mistook a one-time territory gift from daddy Coca-Cola ($KO) for infinite operational growth. **Grandma's Sugar Water Reality Check:** There are no more U.S. territories to absorb. Margin expansion has hit a ceiling, and you can buy the exact same business overseas for half the multiple.

r/wallstreetbetsSee Comment

#TLDR --- Ticker: $COKE Direction: Up 📈 Prognosis: Buy shares and ride the parabolic sugar high Plot Twist: This is the bottler (Coca-Cola Consolidated), not your grandma's Coca-Cola ($KO). Secret Sauce: Infinite territory glitch. $KO basically gifted them 4x their operating space overnight to simplify operations, turning a regional bottler into a money-printing machine with an AI-like stock chart.

There is no more US territory left to absorb, meaning the explosive growth is officially over. **Reality Check:** Stop paying Nvidia multiples for a company that puts sugar water into plastic bottles.

r/wallstreetbetsSee Comment

#TLDR --- Ticker: $COKE Direction: Down Prognosis: Short $COKE shares (Target: $130) / Long $CCEP, $KOF, and $CCH shares Business Model: Bottling sugar water (despite trading like an AI infrastructure stock) The "Wait, What?" Factor: It’s not your grandma's $KO. $COKE artificially quadrupled in size from a one-off territory donation from its parent company. Algorithms pumped it, but the growth is already tapped out.

# TLDR --- **Ticker:** $COKE **Direction:** Down 📉 **Prognosis:** Short $COKE. (Pairs trade: Go long on cheaper international bottlers like $CCEP, $KOF, and $CCH to stay market-neutral). Target price is ~$130. **Catalyst:** Algos got high on their own supply and mistook a one-off territory gift from papa $KO for infinite, AI-level parabolic growth. Margin expansion has hit a ceiling. **Grandma Alert:** This is the bottling company, not your grandma's actual Coca-Cola Company ($KO) dividend stock.

#TLDR --- Ticker: COKE (Short) / CCEP, KOF, CCH (Long) Direction: Down (on COKE) Prognosis: Market-Neutral Pairs Trade (Short $COKE, Long cheap international bottlers) Reality Check: Algorithms are pricing a literal soda bottler like an AI tech stock (34x P/E) because they mistook a one-time territory expansion for infinite growth. Daddy Issues: $KO has no more U.S. territories left to donate to $COKE for pennies on the dollar. The sugar rush is over. Price target is $130.

#TLDR --- Ticker: $COKE (Short) / $CCH, $KOF, $CCEP (Long) Direction: Down (for $COKE) Prognosis: Short $COKE (Target: $130) and Long cheaper global bottlers to create a market-neutral pairs trade. Catalyst: $COKE's explosive growth was a one-off from parent company $KO donating them massive territory. That free real estate is gone, earnings are dropping, and margins have hit a ceiling. Reality Check: Algorithms are hallucinating AI-level growth (34x P/E) for a company that just puts fizzy brown syrup into plastic bottles.

You're close. If a company has cash flow and growth there is rarely a need to give up equity to raise capital and if there is there is enough capital in the private markets that a company wouldn't need to become public. A bank will loan you money or you can raise in the bond market. Becoming public is very expensive and has quite a lot of running costs. Companies only go IPO because the business model doesn't work, or is very unlikely to work (Apple, Microsoft, Amazon and the 3000 other companies that went to zero since 1978), or if there is a legal reason, divorce, partnership break-up exit, near bankruptcy, etc (Disney, etc), or if the owners (usually family) want to cash out now and not wait (KO, COKE.) If you make money, you don't need to borrow (Arizona Tea.) If you need to borrow and can borrow without losing equity, you do that (Chick Fil A, Quick Trip, etc.) If you raise capital from one investor and not have to deal with the SEC, you do that. If you can't do those then you have no other choice but go IPO... or go broke. The public sector is the last stop. When companies go IPO that means they can't raise capital anymore in any other way. Now, an IPO is BOTH a capital infusion as the company sells shares AND an exit for early investors. The public sector is where companies go to die. On rare (very rare occasions) they manage to survive and usually it's because of money printing which is something the US did in 1951 post WWII and since the 1980s.

From a data perspective, most "bubblers"are referring to Shiller/CAPE index which is the long term PE ratio of the SP500, and it currently does sit near all time highs. The "AI narrative" is because the largest weights in said SP500 are heavily invested in the area. The entire circular money argument is nonsense. When company A exchanges an asset of value (cash, equity) to company B for a good or service, that is a legitimate economic transaction. If B then transacts with A, that's an entirely separate activity. Nobody is giving away anything for free. What's different if A goes to B and and B goes to A, versus A goes to B and B goes to C? It just means C got a win over A - not that this is "real" and other was "fake". Let's suppose AMZN contracts out to UPS to help with package delivery. And then separately, UPS decides to use AMZN AWS to host their web service and compute infrastructure. Is this fake/circular money? I'm fairly certain most will agree it is not. UPS could have instead gone to MSFT Azure to get another party involved. So it's not different than my prior A/B/C examples. Nothing unusual or out of the ordinary. AI "loop" is simply because a) big tech are the ones driving AI buildout b) big tech has the funds to do so c) AI/GPU hyperscaler is just the next interation of CPU/cloud hyperscaler. Makes perfect sense to me, just as AMZN can go to UPS and FDX for delivery. They aren't going to UBER or LFYT or COKE (distributor for KO). It's called synergy - it can be both inter-business or intra-business.
