People don't like people that have money. Really that simple. Many assume I inherited it, or got given to me, wealthy friends, started wealthy, etc. I'm hiding the number and people don't like that. However - it's leverage to keep that information unknown. Just like poker. For reference - I started with $2k & was in debt in 2017. I found a market inefficiency and built a latency arb system to exploit it - that's how I made all my money. I've never taken any investments, I just figured out markets are not actually efficient and figured how to exploit that for profit. I still have arb systems running. It's significantly more competitive and capital intensive than when I started tho. Arbs used to exist of 3-5% in crypto land that you could cycle multiple times PER DAY (->net 15-20% day over day). I basically just automated that and funded it with a few grand. Ran it up to over 100k% returns before the inefficiency died ($2k -> millions). For reference - this is pure gambling. No DD, no edge. I don't have any real edges in trad markets - just access to the same information everyone else does. Probably lose it all ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

Let me spell it out for my “quantum bulls”. $QBTS pumped their stock saying they’re presenting at CES (trade show were hundreds of companies go to). CEO pumps it on twitter, stock pops, then that SAME day he files to unload $23M in stock. Last month, he went on CNBC to pump his stock then sold $53M (also SAME DAY). $QBTS is a scam, barely any revenue and $10B valuation. It’s a generational short opportunity
The "stat" he's referencing is about DAY traders. Which is basically gambling. Big difference from normal trading. And it's a very misleading. It's kinda like saying "most car crashes occur within 5 miles of the driver's house" or "most lottery winners go broke within 5 years." 99.8% of high school football players make the NFL. Yet there's been thousands and thousands of unique players in the league over the last several years. Most people who are trading are not doing it seriously, still learning, straight up gambling, or simply suck at it. A lot are looking at simplistic metrics like P/E or even more advanced valuation/ modeling which is still a very small piece of the puzzle of being a successful trader. People tend to think towards the "day trading" stat or stats that show most institutional fund managers underperform the S&P 500 long-term (most aren't even benchmarking against the S&P - only US Large Cap Core/Blend managers do this). Also, institutional managers are often managing billions of dollars and don't "trade" frequently and they can't buy/ sell positions on a dime at the open market price like retail traders. They're also tied to their benchmark, so managers benchmarking against the S&P 500 have to buy domestic large/ mega cap stocks. Retail traders can buy small caps, micro caps, international stocks, etc and enter/ exit positions much more easily. Domestic Large Core has been the best asset class in most years, especially over the last 10-15 years, so automatically the S&P 500 is going to outperform managers who strictly invest in small caps/ international markets. TLDR; OP mis-stated the metric by ommitting the "day" before traders and it's a misleading but often cited topic in investment communities overall.

I agree with you on everything *except* your view on cannabis(it's what the kids call it now) stocks. The reason being the recent signing into effect, marijuana being rescheduled from Class 1(no possible medical use) to schedule III(a minor federal offense punishable with a possible ticket, but medical applications found and legally can be prescribed) That being said the *cannabis* companies are a dime a dozen. Unless you've been following this in hopes ONE DAY.... It would be decriminalized and pharma would pay the funds necessary to get it distributed widely and have many variations for as many different ailments as possible, where they'd need a prescription from a licensed Doctor who is practicing currently. That subject might be something I've kept on the back burner since around the time I saw it drop, and figured out the WHY behind it. Same as the Internet, same as the housing mortgage rates in 05-06, same as AI in the near future. I will say I didn't think it would ever actually be a profitable sector ever again. I won't divulge when or how long it'll be, but it will be profitable again. Just my personal perspective.

Now every morning you open the chart and instantly see: * Was yesterday green or red? (close vs open) * Is pre-market above or below that yellow line by 0.3%+? (green/red overnight) I also add a second line for quick % calc: plot PctChange = (close - PriorClose)/PriorClose \* 100; and set conditional formatting (green if >0.3, red if <-0.3).

Lazy way… open Thinkorswim (free with Schwab), pull up TSLA daily chart, turn on extended hours, add the simple study “plot ON = close(period='DAY')” so you see yesterday’s 4pm close as a line. Then just scroll back and look: if pre-market the next morning is above that line = green overnight, below = red. Takes 5 seconds per day. I did 2024–2025 in a couple evenings. TradingView works the same if you pay for it, or grab free Polygon data and slap it in Excel/Python if you want to get fancy. Manual scrolling is honestly perfect for this because the sample is small and you instantly spot the days Elon nuked the pattern anyway. No expensive tools needed.
