My 2 cents: here are some warning signs in no particular order. 1. Named after another (successful) coin. If you assume DOGE is not a scam (more on this in a moment), it's more likely that Dogecash (DOGEC ) DogeFi (DOGEFI) and Dogeswap (DOGES) will be scams. 2. No legit use case. If it's just "a store of value" it's likely losing to BTC or other established coins. 3. Insanely high issuance. There are a ton of coins out there with a quadrillion (1,000,000,000,000,000) coins minted. That shit ain't ever getting to a penny - it would be worth like 6x the entire crypto market currently if it did. To me, that signals that the makers are trying to get you high on hopium: "I own a billion of these coins! If it just hits a penny, I am set for life!" 4. No limit on issuance. Doge has done well, no doubt. It is a meme, not a scam, exactly, but they are often related. Doge currently has about 130 billion coins in circulation and adds about 5 billion each year. That means (rough math here based on current prices) that it needs about $1.5 Billion USD invested each year just to keep prices stable. That is... a lot of money. But it's Doge and people love it, so maybe it'll be fine. Finally, you asked if a coin can go from scam/meme to legit. It could happen, especially if the stakers/miners take it over and put it on a path to legitimacy. Anyhow, WTF do I know? This market is so new still, rationale behavior is the exception, not the rule.

Well you ask me to explain to you, that’s my opinion, I know that 20$ of DOGE is just the same as 20$ of BTC but I would rather pay something worth 40 DOGES than something .000 and a lot of numbers of BTC. I know that this process actually are done by computers so that really doesn’t matter much but it’s just simplicity and people want to know how much they have and how much they will spend

From my observation in DOGE ever since it pumped above 10c, it moves differently from the rest of the crypto market. This is likely because 31% of all DOGES are bought with Robinhood. So these hodlers are primarily stock people who has zero care about other crypto. As much as I hate DOGE, it probably be the lone survivor if the crypto market crashes. Like let's say everything crashed 80%, DOGE would probably only crash 30%

DOGES token (dogeswap) rised 1400% in 2 data because it was listed on a new exchange. Since it only has 15000 circulating Coins of a 20000 total, it is normal that the price rised that much. Im a DOGES holder and if you think it rised too much wait for mass adoption. People still dont know about this coin or dogeswap platform. Some people get to know about it because of 4/20 doge hype. I found a youtuber that only knew about it because of the doge hype. He found it on coingecko or so, searching for doge. Basically dogeswap is a defi platform with low fees and i expect it Will rise very high when people get into it.
Most reliable coins have steady growth over time look at bit coin 5$ in 2010 is now worth 200k+ today. I get thats not all coins and projects although it is releveant to look at. Im new to crypto so i dont know too much about it yet, but it seems like all the shitcoins are the DOGES and SAFEMOONS, (just examples i hold doge and will be for a while).

My plan so far is to - research and do all the stuff that gets you free crypto....The Coinbase Earn thing, which you mentioned, has made me $42 richer so far, and now we have some basic idea what different cryptocurrencies are FOR, and why there are different ones. Fun to watch free crypto go up and down, too. Not stressful. - stick to little bits of money I won’t miss... 5 bucks here and there just to facilitate a learning experience for me and my preteen son is enough to get his curiosity up and keep it up so that he actually researches this stuff instead of just going “BUY ME MORE DOGES AND BANANOES LULZ!!” Banano is a super great thing for teaching your kid (and your b self) - buy the dips. I have some crypto in wallets, but I also bought some on Robinhood so that I can buy and sell without these steep mining fees that I don’t understand. I don’t know how they can afford to let you do that or how long it will last, but it’s going well for me right now, as well as anything involving less than fifteen dollars at a time can really go!
