I need to take a step back? Give me one example of a successful (profitable) 51% attack that did not involve reorging the chain. Here are a few that went exactly as I described. BTG Jan 2020, Vertcoin Dec 2019, EXP jul 2019, LCC 2019. I don’t know why I am even discussing with you anymore since, you are wrong about this. You cannot 51% attack Bitcoin in hours with these pools, you simply cannot. Its not even a debate. 51% attack reorgs: https://gist.github.com/metalicjames/71321570a105940529e709651d0a9765 https://gist.github.com/metalicjames/f2acdb9ef448ec5298173b36c7c54133 https://gist.github.com/metalicjames/01222049f95f85df8c0eb253de54848b https://gist.github.com/metalicjames/82a49f8afa87334f929881e55ad4ffd7

Attestation =/= Audit Tether famously had Bitfinex send $382 million to a bank account they opened on the 15th of September 2017, which they showed to Friedman LCC in the afternoon of that same day. In reality, Tether did not have reserves to back the Tethers they had issued, something which would have been noticed had they predormed an AUDIT instead of an ATTESTATION.

Yeah - I have literally a tiny brain. Im the poster boy of not knowing fuck about shit, or whatever. And even I, in my low IQ, myopic stupor know that the profit here comes from the delta between your buying price and your selling price, minus any brokerage / fees or whatever. Like, literally _buy low sell high_. If Ripple Inc. / Loopring LCC / Bitcoin Industries Ltd. or whatever you call the company behind it makes money through partnering up, licensing the tech or whatever, then thats great (and might influence the price movement), but holders dont see any direct profit from that. Like you say (and I didnt think of this one - but its a bloody good point) if a company behind a crypto tried to make bank by selling off their bags then it would tank the price. I cant believe that the fucking big brains at the SEC dont get this. Its almost like they want to willfully tarnish crypto for the average joe with nonesense like this.

Then what’s the point of a LCC?

Mentions:#LCC
r/CryptoCurrencySee Comment

that’s objectively not true, but even then, LCC is more than just a traditional fork. it brings it’s own flavor and technology. the Litecoin in it’s name is not too relevant.

Mentions:#LCC
r/CryptoCurrencySee Comment

The core innovation of LCC comes into the form of Hive Mining, which delivers proof of work mining without the huge electrical consumption of traditional mining. LTC is a good transaction coin by itself, no doubt about that, but LCC is a bit more experimental and strives to be a secure, green and democratic blockchain. Due to the way hive mining works, it is extremely difficult for a single entity to control the network. I could go on and on for hours on the subject but the white paper explains it better than i ever will.

i have nothing against BCH itself, it’s just a boring project IMO. Honestly LCC should be named something else. Got no control on that. What i care for is the core tech, that’s all.

At this point LCC has nothing to do with Litecoin so much except for the name. I believe in the technology behind it, it could be named whatever and i’d still like it.

Yup. As i said, it’s extremely obscure. i always go for innovative projects on the technical side, might it be big or small. LCC got my attention there.

LiteCoinCash $LCC The coin is awesome, fast and such a great community. Up 115% in last month and hugley undervalued, only 700M supply and 2 cents right now! Upside potential when compared to market cap of the beast is 73,000x... and the dev team is active and just released new updates to their wallets and blockchain. Don't miss a out on this one! Personally I've made a living finding low cap investments with huge upside potential, and for me right now, this is one of the best. Don't sleep on this one. 🚀 👨‍🚀

From MIT digital currency initiative: Recently, theoretical thinking about 51% attacks has evolved. A plethora of alternative cryptocurrencies (altcoins) with wildly differing market capitalizations have launched. This has made 51% attacks against altcoins realistic because only a small proportion of miners from larger coins need to switch to a smaller coin in order to control 51% of the smaller coin's network hashrate. This has led to the creation of economic models that consider the incentives behind launching a 51% attack in a world where enough hashrate can be purchased if the attacker is willing to pay. These theories suggest that successful attacks are either break-even or profitable unless miners have large fixed costs associated with their mining hardware that could not be recouped in the case of an attack. Exchanges are not incentivized to disclose successful attacks due to the risk of being perceived as insolvent and journalists are rarely able to provide detailed data on an attack. Futhermore, 51% attacks are transient events meaning that unless they are observed at the time of attack, it is not possible to detect them later. We built a system to actively monitor scores of Proof-of-Work cryptocurrencies and detect chain reorganizations (reorgs) which can indicate that a 51% attack has occured. When an attack is detected, the system analyzes the blocks involved and reports any transactions that have been double-spent. The system also estimates the cost of attack based on hashrate rental prices at the time of the attack. The goal is to gather real-time empirical data on the rate of reorgs on popular cryptocurrencies to provide guidance to the industry on better practices for managing Proof-of-Work security. Since we launched the reorg tracker in June 2019, we have detected over 40 reorgs that were 6 or more blocks deep on coins such as BTG, HANA, VTC, XVG, EXP and LCC. Some of these reorgs contained double-spends and were hundreds of blocks deep. We have also seen evidence that hashrate rental markets were used to perform a subset of the attacks

So, what you're telling me is, a huge crypto project had aspirations to become something that it probably couldn't ever be. Then you're telling me that just because the NY Times, a meme newspaper, says it's a scam, that I need to be seriously concerned? Are you new? I tried to tell my Uncle not to buy ICP. I told him out of experience, i still hold ETN/SKY/CDX/HDG/LCC, and not cuz I'm "hodling". There is literally nowhere to get rid of these shitcoins as an American ;)

Software : cgminer I can share with you my experience : -you only can solo mine, pools won’t be the good place to mine -mine a easier sha256 coin than btc if you want to earn something potentially : the best one with only 1 usb miner could be DGB or LCC... -put a little fan in front of it if you overclock -if you have problems with setup, there are some tutos on bitcointalk

Your objection seems to be that billionaires exist or rather were created under an unjust system. I’m not sure why you think I’m advocating on their behalf. Billionaires would have a much harder time existing under an Ancap society since there is no LCC or Cooperation to shield them from their crimes. They are able to stay in power because Congress or other government have powers that can keep them at the top...for a fee. There are contract enforcement companies that would play arbiter for disputes (Dispute Resolution Organization or DRO if you wanna Google a term). Also to be clear I would not disband all government today. The road to freedom is long and requires a culture shift that understands freedom. We don’t have it in America today thanks to government run schools. Getting rid of any form of government sponsored education would help as well as income and property taxes. Those taxes are the most abhorrent. One implies the government controls your income and they allow you to keep a certain % of it, the other says you are merely renting from us and they are the landlords. I wanna answer your question with a different sort of thinking. Given what I said above wouldn’t you think that we are currently ruled by overlords and barrens? The very thing you asked me how to prevent. It’s already here. And while I may have a solution I’m not going to come up with a better solution than millions of free individuals working together to solve a complex social problem. And in the end if the government or whatever comes back and controls us... then we’ll fight for liberty again. But...idk. That question always comes off to me as “Doc what if the cancer comes back? Do we really need to try to remove it?” Sorta vibe when I hear it. It always comes up too. Btw...this conversation has turned muuuch better. I’m sorry for being rude earlier.

IF you are serious about it. Open a "checkbook IRA". How this works if the custodian will create a company (LLC) for you (i.e. The Barking Duck LLC) and you will then open a bank account in the name of the company. Any bank account you want at any bank. Key thing is the bank account is NOT in your name. The bank account is in the name of this new company. Your IRA contributions are then sent to the custodian who invests them in the LCC (a passthrough entity) and are deposited in the LCC bank account. At that point you can do (almost) anything you want. Open an account at coinbase or gemini. Once again not in your name but in the name of your IRA company LLC. You want to buy gold, realestate, do some venture capital investing you can do all that too. The holding company acquires those assets. Your IRA owns the holding company. You have essentially no limitations (beyond a few transactions prohibited by the IRS). If you want I can recommend a company but honestly first DYOR start by googling "checkbook IRA"
