Blockchain crashes for weeks? Nah. I can understand if you have concerns about whether today's blockchain infra can fully support storing and running something as heavy as Call of Duty onchain. The goal of infra like PWR Chain is to support traditional codebases so apps can use blockchain where it makes sense, without being confined by the limitations of smart contracts. In a well-designed system, only critical logic and ownership data live onchain, while the heavy lifting (e.g., patches) stays offchain. It's about finding a balance between decentralization and practicality to unlock blockchain's potential while keeping things smooth for users.

Okay. So the MHBS is an interesting approach PWR Chain is taking. The basic idea is pretty solid; to use hash-based signatures that can stand up to quantum attacks while still keeping things speedy. From what I understand, the key benefits are: 1. It's quantum-resistant, so no worries about Shor's algorithm breaking it. 2. It's fast - doesn't slow down the network like some other post-quantum solutions or ECDSA. Apparently they use a two-tier system. NIST-recommended algos like Falcon at the block level, which is smart. But for transactions, MHBS which they developed in-house. So far they havent shared much about it but i joined a twitter space once and David Chaum was part of it, seems he's an advisor...

Blockchain could turn out to be as big as the internet, and yes, much of that growth would depend on the Web3 infra available. Unfortunately, the current infra may not get us there. Why? I assume that growing as big as the internet would mean any app or website could live on the blockchain without hassle. But that isn't the case today. Apps on the blockchain can only be as sophisticated as smart contracts permit them to be. This limits what's possible on the blockchain and also limits incentives for people to come and use it. Hence, growing as big as the internet simply remains a dream. If blockchain is to stand a chance of reaching the levels of the internet, then we are talking about the ability to deploy any kind of app onchain, no matter its level of sophistication, so that people have reasons to be onchain. The closest Web3 infra to achieving this right now is PWR Chain, due to its support for traditional codebases. This means that software apps can remain as sophisticated on the blockchain as they are off-chain, without the limitations of smart contracts, and with the added benefits of blockchain's security and decentralization. At this level of performance, blockchain stands a chance of growing as big as the internet.

This might be an insider job, they must have observed and monitor his movements. This is why we need to advance most especially in securing our funds as the blockchain technology is revolutionizing. It's often hard to track a lost fund in crypto, but once we take precaution, we are safe. As blockchain tech advances, we need decentralized trust solutions like PWR Chain's "Guardians." a security feature that allows users to assign trusted entities to approve transactions, similar to 2FA, adding extra security and allowing recovery without relying on traditional recovery methods like seed phrases

Luckily, we have forward-thinking teams addressing the quantum threat. For instance, while ECDSA, commonly used for transaction signing in conventional blockchains, is vulnerable to quantum attacks, projects like PWR Chain are adopting Multi Hash Based Signatures (MHBS). MHBS provides enhanced security against quantum attacks without compromising network performance and has been battle-tested in centralized systems for up to two decades. Rather than just theorizing about what could be, at least we know some teams are already taking action.

Crypto opens up lots of financial opportunities, banks the unbanked, etc., some of which I'm a beneficiary. However, it would be a disservice to limit it only to financial activity. It's all about decentralization, censorship resistance, and doing what’s not possible with traditional systems. The problem we've faced with crypto in recent years is that we have focused most of our activities on finance—how life-changing crypto could be financially (see Bitcoin)—which has led to a series of pump and dumps as people hunt for the next Bitcoin (which may not be possible). To this end, we need to embrace crypto beyond what it can do financially. Have you imagined being able to have all the websites and applications that we use today onchain (to benefit from the transparency, security, and accessibility of decentralization)? It literally opens us up to a world of unlimited opportunities. We ought to start paying attention to teams embracing crypto's original dreams beyond finance. Consider popular socialfi platforms like Friend and Farcaster, which benefit from crypto's decentralization but aren’t necessarily finance-based products. We can see similar trends with projects like PWR Chain with the goal of creating a layer akin to the internet, but this time, natively decentralized. Just like we have different kinds of websites and apps on the internet today, we can expect a similar fate onchain. This is more likely the future we are moving towards, outside of the financial incentives crypto offers.

Safe to say Sony has no plan to 'fully decentralize' its network? I'm out here asking, why be an ethereum L2? They have all the manpower and tech know how to pull infra similar to PWR Chain and launch independent L1s easily (without compromising on decentralization). I guess they like having control.

Am I the only one getting ridiculous prices to make a transaction on tron? I have had quite the bad experience using tron. Maybe Cardano isn't the worse afterall. It'd be nice to experiment PWR Chain claims of $0.0000001 fee per byte at some point. At least these ridiculous fees can stop.

Really, what's been happening lately with it? How involved are you? I always wanted to do more, but by the time I was about to it nosedived ( together with PWR and other small bets I had )

This is gearing up to be the hottest L1 blockchain of the near future. The team’s been working hard all year and they’ve already got an entire ecosystem and 17+ projects ready to build on their chain before mainnet has even launched. The presale for their PWR token sold out in 27 seconds in phase 1. They raised 1100 BNB in two rounds of presale in a bear market. You’ll be asking yourself why you didn’t get in when the prices were this low.

I bought so much shitty stuff back in 2017...I remember PWR, LSK, XLM, LTC, WAVES, something with an A.... way more that I can't recall. Liquidated it all for ETH and then made a similar mistake during defi summer. But ever since then I've been mostly in ETH or some BTC 🤷‍♀️

I study energy policy and climate at John’s Hopkins. I literally wrote a paper on the economic viability of nuclear reactors and how thorium molten-salt reactors could replace existing PWR. The problem is related to cost overruns, discount rates, and regulation. Even if a BTC mine was being powered by nuclear it wouldn’t come close to making most (modern) plants break even. Look up the Vogtl 1 and 2 power plant cost and you’ll see the problem. Nuclear will never be profitable in its current form - the whole industry needs a massive overhaul for it to work.

Tell that to my PWR coin I bought in 2017 for $0.04 that dropped to $0.000008 Jk, I’ve always used this philosophy and only lost once. (on PWR that’s never coming back lol) Buuuuyyy the dip! Don’t invest rent!

Thanks for the instant downvote. Good question. It depends on the activity. For normal rounds and routines we wear no additional protective clothing. No reason to, area radiation is equivalent to what a commercial flight crew sees. On high dose jobs you receive an area brief and are escorted by a radiation protection tech. Unless the area is contaminated, you wear no additional clothing. Contamination could mean water, dirt, airborne radiation. In a contaminated area you would wear full dress. The suit is not designed to block radiation, but to prevent contaminants from touching your personal clothing or skin. There are many administrative and engineered radiation protection measures in Nuke Plants. We’re heavily regulated. Failing to follow rad pro rules is also a federal crime, and could potentially get you fined. It’s taken very serious. P.S. this is at a BWR (boiling water reactor), where personnel areas have higher area radiation leveles compared to PWR (pressurized water reactors)

I held VET,XRP,TRON,PWR and ICX from 2017 until Dec 2020 and they’d mostly recovered to either a point close to what I purchased at, or a small profit. I converted them into BNB which then rocketed. The only one that I regret selling is VET as that also went up a lot. Is also held on to ETH and sold that for a small profit as I needed the funds.

So as far as the CPU mining realm there are only a few that I have dabbled in which consist of: ROI, PWR, FTC, ETN, XMY, UIS, LOKI, PASC, BCN, GNT Also mined VTC and RVN with my CPU as well, had to get that double dipping as much as possible. 😃 There are not as money coins now as there was before since a lot of them were really shitcoins, but some of them are still sticking around. Also some of those coins are dual mining such as RVN and VTC, but I don't know how much you will earn now with just a CPU or two. I would definitely say right now is not the time to get into the GPU mining scene with the shortage of cards and the insane marked up prices. The only people that are making profit at this point are the scalpers and resellers of cards.

hmm, maybe. Lets see the world get completely renewable first. Then finding a digital currency companies can easily use to transfer wealth between themselves as a way to purchase or sell electricity will make sense. PWR comes to mind and was designed for this exact purpose but I dont think it will sustain a large grid at the moment.
