Seriously? I guess you missed the part where the Biden’s had numerous checks written to each family member from foreign entities? So smug in your ignorance. https://oversight.house.gov/release/comer-releases-direct-monthly-payments-to-joe-biden-from-hunter-bidens-business-entity%EF%BF%BC/ Press Release Published: Dec 4, 2023 Comer Releases Direct Monthly Payments to Joe Biden from Hunter Biden’s Business Entity WASHINGTON—Today, House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) released subpoenaed bank records revealing Hunter Biden’s business entity, Owasco PC, made direct monthly payments to Joe Biden. Hunter Biden is currently under an investigation by the Department of Justice for using the Owasco PC corporate account for tax evasion and other serious crimes. Following subpoenas to obtain Biden family associates’ bank records, Chairman Comer issued subpoenas for Hunter and James Biden’s personal and business bank records. The House Oversight Committee has identified over 20 shell companies and uncovered how the Bidens and their associates raked in over $24 million dollars between 2015 and 2019 by selling Joe Biden as “the brand.” Financial records obtained show Hunter Biden’s business account, Owasco PC, received payments from Chinese-state linked companies and other foreign nationals and companies.

Mentions:#BC

No, you can have those people if you're a team player, is what I'm saying. Some Albertans are the ones constantly saying they're getting "nothing" from Canada. That is inconsistent. Alberta won't be economically viable when oil prices go below the minimum price to make oil sands extraction worth it. It's already close. These things, equalization etc., these are plans meant to make a region prosperous on the order of a century. Some day it won't be Alberta's turn, it'll be Manitoba, or the East Coast. Or BC, which also doesn't receive payments but doesn't make a habit of making it a political issue.

Mentions:#BC

Alberta takes prime working age people from all over Canada who had their education and healthcare paid for by other provinces and uses them to extract wealth. Then when they're done, those people retire to BC at just the right age to enormously stress that province's healthcare system with their now emerging chronic conditions and super expensive end of life care. Alberta did not create its wealth from nothing, and like it or not it is part of the country and has benefited from that (and continues to). Right now it's not getting equalization payments, but when -- not if, but _when_ oil prices decline to a level that make the oil sands unprofitable because China made it _so cheap_ to run everything electric, the rest of Canada will provide Alberta with equalization payments.

Mentions:#BC

I'm sure it means the opposite... If someone sells $15 calls expiring on Jan2026, this means that they are actually bearish BC they'll need to keep the price under $15.

What do people think the theory behind this strategy is? I thought these companies were formed in BC because they were plant touching intrastate companies and thus federally illegal?

I think you’re mixing up listing compliance with share price compliance. They already regained NYSE American compliance, meaning they met the equity and reporting requirements and got the ‘.BC’ tag removed. The price per share staying under $1 doesn’t automatically mean they’re non-compliant again; it just means the next threshold would be the price-based one if it stayed there too long. So yeah, they’re in good standing now.

Maybe, but I think we're living in a different environment where the large mega caps have so much Capital to invest that they're snapping up some of these Bass growers before they have a chance to become big. Secondly, you are very active and very wealthy BC funds that are keeping some of these stocks private for a lot longer. It doesn't mean that the stocks won't go higher once they're public, but it does mean that the upside is capped. I'll give you several examples. Data breaks already has a $70 billion valuation and it's still private. Openai has a $500 billion valuation and it's still private. Anthropic has A 250 billion valuation and it's still private. You can't apply those type of multiples to a $500 billion number. It starts to equal the GDP of the world.

First gold (electrum) were only used in North Africa and around the mediterranean sea where gold was easily found in river beds. And, in North Africa all the gold was owned by the king so it wasn't used at all for commerce. Even in Europe gold wasn't primarily used for commerce. Copper and bronze was. The reason there are so many gold coins is because people buried them. Those coins are (much like today) a sign of excess money. It was a store of value back then. But, not a good one hence the need to bury it and the reason so much those burials are found today. Because the people who buried the coins didn't live to dig them back up. Once Rome fell most of Europe returned to barter. There isn't a continuous, unbroken area that has used gold coins for thousands of years outside of the area where Turkey is. That is where the very first gold coins were produced as well. And again, the default currency was not gold. So sure, people in Turkey have been using gold coins for some purpose from roughly 500 BC but Turkey only went on the gold standard in 1881 and left it in 1914. So there is that. But, humans have been forming societies for 12000 years and have existed for 200k to 2 million years depending on who you ask. So as I stated "for most of human history" humans haven't used gold. We don't use it today. We haven't used it for all of US history really. The first coins were copper and silver. And, in other parts of the world like China paper was used. In the Americas, copper was used or animal pelts. The reason gold and silver are used is because those metals had no other use (before electronic circuitry was invented). Gold and silver are too soft to make weapons. And what makes a coin valuable isn't the material. It's the number stamped in it. You could make a $1 coin out of wood or a slab of steak if it had $1 stamped in it. Wood degrades. And who wants to carry around a slab of steak. Humans went through the iron age. And bronze age. Not the gold age. Because iron and bronze were important to human history. Gold is just shiny. If you want I can explain why gold is pushed onto people?

Gold provides value as a store of wealth and means of exchange because it is relatively rare, it’s challenging to increase supply through mining, it’s difficult to counterfeit, and it’s dense. It has served as a form of currency since before 600 BC. Compare that to paper currency, which is not tethered to any hard asset. Governments/central banks can print more and more, debasing their currency and spending beyond their means. The USA currently provides the world’s reserve currency, which means its bonds are the most liquid and most global traded moved through the USD. Imagine a scenario where the USA has a president that pressures the federal reserve to cut rates despite rising inflation and is poised to install pliant fed governors and fed chair. Imagine decades of deficit spending in good times and bad, leading to interest payments that exceed defense spending. Imagine a scenario where the USA starts a trade war with its closest allies and trade partners. Finally, as implausible as it sounds, imagine the USA restricting its labor supply by doing the largest human roundup in 80 years and dragging millions of people from their homes and jobs (without warrants nor identification) to put them in concentration camps in foreign countries. All of this is inflationary, and all of this makes the world question the wisdom of allowing the USA to have the global reserve currency. Currently, the USD is #1, the Euro is #2, and gold is #3. There isn’t enough liquidity in the European bond market to replace the dollar, and tbh, there isn’t for gold either, that’s why we’ve been seeing the gold price skyrocket as we watch the erosion of the USA’s global power.

The difference between a million dollars and a billion dollars is about a billion dollars. You could earn $25,000/hr every hour, 24h a day, every day, 365 days a year, every year since year 1 at the BC/AD changeover, never spend a penny, and you’d still be several billion short of Elon Musk’s net worth. We really don’t comprehend how wealthy these people actually are. Nobody earned a billion dollars.

The only way I can think of to scale this is to hire a bunch of guys to manually input the shit for you. Crowdsource accounts and do arb between different accounts / names. You can obfuscate all your arbs if you have multiple people. Difficulty of figuring it out who is "in the group" and who isn't grows exponentially as people increase linearly due to combinations of accounts you can arb inbetween. For example - a group of 6 people may be enough to run a sophisticated arb operation on. We know bookies blacklist people / talk to each other (just like casinos) -- so you gotta be smart about it. For example - if you have 6 accounts / people, A,B,C,D,E,F. You arb between A (long) and B (short) on two different brokers. You can do the combinations AB AC AD AE AF \-- BC BD BE BF \-- CD CE CF \-- DE DF \-- Never run the arb between two accounts with the same name. This gives you 14 unique ways to run arbs while minimizing risk of getting caught. With 10 people you basically can run hundreds of arbs in different combinations. Obfuscation is one way to remain undetected.

Does that gold serve some real life purpose in my phone? Bitcoin (currently) does not serve any real life purpose other than an investment vehicle. Hopefully that will change. I own a fair amount of BC. Not against it. But this limited supply argument is one of its weakest points and I have not heard a good argument for it even though I'm trying to get my mind changed.

Mentions:#BC

It's kinda on you to explain buddy. I have about 15% of my investments in BC so I am pro BC ultimately. But I do think the hype of "limited supply" is bogus. When something can be split without limit while the value is highly variable it just doesn't make sense. With a physical item the item gets smaller and smaller. I would never care to buy a microscopic amount of gold in the real world. But I would buy a tiny amount of BC because it's just a digital asset and it's smallness has no physical effect. Happy to have my mind changed on this one.

I don't mind posting them in the open, because I know they're solid selections. But rather than giving you a fish, I'd rather teach you *how* to fish. I made this little [screen capture video](https://imgur.com/a/barchart-etf-screening-VbwTWxy) last week for someone to show how I screen on Barchart. You'd probably need to pay for BC Premium to be able to do some of the things, but this gives you an idea. *Especially* pay attention when I start showing what a 'good' chart looks like. There's no audio, just follow the cursor. **Here are the generic steps:** Open ETF Screener. Unselect all the leveraged ones (but leave the -1/Inverse box checked). Add just 1 screening criteria: Has Options (that pretty much takes care of Volume) Hit 'Add' so that moves down to the screening pane, then click See Results. Sort by 3-month performance. We want to know what's doing well *right now.* Now *THE* MOST IMPORTANT PART: click on "**flipcharts**" and start looking through charts. (Change to Line, and keep the view at 6 months.) Find ones that are up and **smooth**. Don't worry about what the ETF is or anything else, just the price action: up and SMOOTH. Then pick 5 or so that aren't closely correlated. (Like I wouldn't pick gold *and* the gold miners. And I wouldn't pick 2 China ones if those screened in.) Then go buy LEAPS Calls on them and get rich. Here are the 5 I put in my model portfolio last Wednesday: **GLD** \- gold is probably always going to have a place **TLT** \- and Treasuries will probably also have a place **MAGS** **SMH** **SILJ** Granted, silver and gold are somewhat correlated, but one is the gold metal, while the other is silver *miners*. It's okay for me, but might not be for you. Let's see what those look like on a [6-month chart.](https://imgur.com/a/a2I4lFX) Pretty good, right? TLT is flat, but that's okay; it's there to be the 'cash' part of the portfolio. Plus I'm making north of 30% apy selling CCs against it. GLD is similar, meant to be 'cash' and/or a hedge against inflation. But 36% in 6 months is a great return. And the others? *138% in 6 months?* Have you ever heard of such a thing from an ETF? But they're out there. Catch the wave and ride it up, that's the idea. But you have to monitor, and cut them when they roll over. Don't ride them back down. In other words, don't buy and *hold*. Buy and *monitor*. Step off one escalator onto the next one. And note that I didn't pick any of those 3 because they were up the *most*. I picked them because their charts were *smooth*. Up, sure, but smooth is more important. So there you go, now go forth and prosper!

Ah, sorry about that. Yes, I do have Premium. But I'll tell you what: it's worth it for that, but *especially* for their **Flipcharts** feature. I screen for ETFs with options, then click to sort by 3-month performance (that all takes literally 1 minute), then flip through charts using Flipcharts. A second or 2 per chart will tell you if it's 'good' or not. Then off to your trading platform to make the trades. I happened to see today a charge on my cc statement from Barchart for 239.95. $240, so just $20 a month. I must've saved a bit by buying it for a year, because that's something I would do. But see if you can buy it by the month, and how much it is. **I'll send you the money to pay for it for 1 month.** And then it would be cool if we could do a conference call together and I could show you how to get the most out of it, and how I trade the ETFs I find. I promise I'm not selling anything, just trying to get more people interested in LEAPS Calls on ETFs. And you proved you're interested by finding out you couldn't screen for free on BC. You can maybe find the ability to screen for free somewhere else though. Maybe even your broker. Or Yahoo Finance, or Bloomberg, or .... I don't know. I "grew up" on Barchart, and I've never found anything better. Take care.

Since my last comment got downvoted by the Bitcoin Bros for pointing out that BC etfs are 2x expensive. Here’s Matt Levine’s column from July: The basic situation is that the US stock market will pay $2 for $1 worth of cryptocurrency. If a small public company has a $100 million pot of Bitcoin or Ethereum or Trumpcoin or what have you, its stock will be worth at least $200 million. This trade is baffling and magical; it was pioneered by MicroStrategy Inc. (which now calls itself Strategy, and which has about a $70 billion stash of Bitcoins and a $138 billion equity market capitalization[1] ), and is now regularly and successfully imitated by all sorts of random small companies. I make fun of this a lot, but it is worth asking what it means that the stock market will pay $2 for $1 worth of crypto. There are in principle three sorts of answers: A Bitcoin in the hands of a crypto treasury company is really worth more than a Bitcoin in your hands, because the treasury company can do stuff (investor education! lending! leverage! staking! tokenization! stuff!) with the Bitcoin that you could not easily do. Therefore the premium is justified for business reasons. There are vast pools of institutional capital that (1) want to own Bitcoin but (2) can’t own Bitcoin directly, or through futures or exchange-traded funds or other more normal (and lower-premium) mechanisms. Therefore the premium is justified for market-segmentation reasons: Crypto treasury companies are getting paid a durable premium for bringing crypto to institutional investors in investable form. Retail investors are lazy and/or confused and buy hyped crypto treasury stocks without understanding the enormous premium they are paying for crypto exposure. Therefore the premium is justified for meme reasons. Every crypto treasury company says some version of No. 1 — it will do stuff with crypto, not just hold it — but I have never found it particularly compelling. No. 3 — “lol retail” — makes a lot of intuitive sense, and I’ve written a version of it. (“The obvious appeal of the crypto treasury strategy for most small US public companies is probably along the lines of ‘nobody is paying attention to our tiny company, but if we announce we’re buying a big pot of crypto, retail traders will get excited and overpay for our stock.’”) But No. 2 is the interesting one. If the story is “giant asset managers want Bitcoin exposure, and Strategy is the only convenient way for them to get Bitcoin exposure, so they are willing to pay a 100% premium to buy Strategy and get Bitcoin exposure,” then that’s … super weird? And yet maybe true? When I look at Strategy’s shareholder list on Bloomberg, the second-biggest holder is Capital Group, the big active mutual fund manager, with 6.99% of the stock. Is this a good holding for Capital? Well, I mean, it’s up about 175% over the last 12 months, versus about 13% for the S&P 500 index. So: yes?

Accounts that are just left open after the owner passes become inactive and are taken by the government (escheatment). Accounts that are passed to beneficiaries or by will lose control of how the money is invested and spent. They tend to get diluted among multiple heirs and spent rather quickly. There is such a thing as perpetual trusts. $1 mil is not enough to set up and administer one. The government can also change the rules to make them not perpetual. There are some family trusts that go back to the 1920s. I can't think of any that go back to 1025. Just like the Roman census around year 3BC, the government(s) will know how much money you have and will find a way to take it from you.

So frustrating when there is so much information at our finger tips and people can make such patently false statements without doing a five second search to find out if its true: The **Lex Iulia de adulteriis** of 18 BC Rome specifically criminalized male adultery, with penalties including exile, property confiscation, and loss of citizenship rights. Biblical law prescribed stoning as the punishment for both male and female adulterers caught in the act, with the man facing the same death penalty as the woman. Colonial New England provides some of the most documented cases of men being prosecuted for adultery in early American history. Plymouth Colony records show numerous instances of male prosecution for sexual offenses, including adultery. In 1641, Thomas Bray, a single man from Yarmouth, was convicted alongside Anne Linceford (a married woman) for committing adultery. Both received sentences of public whipping and were required to wear "AD" badges on their clothing. EVEN unmarried men could face adultery charges when involved with married women. The Massachusetts Bay Colony executed both men and women for adultery. In 1637, three individuals (two men and one woman) were convicted of adultery at a Boston Quarter Court and sentenced to "severely whipped and banished, never to return again upon pain of death". A 1643-1644 case resulted in the execution of both a man and woman found guilty of adultery, showing the law's equal application. One of the most famous examples from American history involved Frank Sinatra. In his twenties, he was initially arrested for "seduction" after allegedly having sexual relations with a woman under promise of marriage. When it was discovered the woman was actually married, the charges were changed to adultery. Sinatra paid a $500 bond and was released, with the charges later being dropped. In 1920, Boston courts arraigned "about two dozen men and two dozen women" for adultery In the landmark **C**aminetti case in 1917, two married men from Sacramento, were convicted under the Mann Act for traveling across state lines with their girlfriends to Nevada for immoral purposes. The Supreme Court upheld their convictions. Military law has consistently prosecuted men for adultery. Under Article 134 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, adultery remains a federal crime for military personnel of all ranks. While lower-ranking soldiers typically receive lighter punishments, officers face serious consequences. In June 2024, an Air Force General pleaded guilty to adultery charges in a court-martial proceeding. For the love of whatever god you've fallen for, do some damn research before making such bold claims

Gold doesn't go down. You need currencies to strengthen so that it seems like gold goes down. They found clay tablets in mesopotamia from 4000 BC that describe buying a load of bread with gold. Converting the amount of gold into modern prices, a loaf cost around $8 worth of gold. The value of gold in terms of what it buys is pretty much unchanged in six thousand years.

Well, you're looking for stocks around $10, so start there. Stay above 5, because there's mostly trash below 5 (and exclude OTC stocks), but then as high as you can go. Let's say $8-12. Stocks that pay a dividend are typically more-stable companies. And of course you need it to have options. There are about a hundred in that view. Ford is in there at $11.77. From there you might select the Performance view, and then maybe click on the 3-month header to sort high-to-low 3m performance. I like to stay on the Put side of the Wheel, so I'm looking for stocks that are going up, or at least flat. Once you set up your screen, the Flipcharts feature at the upper-right of the list will help you quickly flip through charts (change the chart style to Line; the timeframe defaults to 6m, but you might change it to 1y for a more holistic view). Then I look for charts that are 1) smooth-ish, 2) going up. That's admittedly qualitative, but you'll know it when you see it. For example, look at the 6-month charts of the ETFs **CNYA** and **XSD**. (And btw, that's a subtle hint that you should start with ETFs and not stocks. Some pay well enough outright, but all pay well if you do them in a margin account where your CSPs enjoy much-reduced Buying Power reductions.) Now, I haven't told you to rush out and do the Wheel on all those tickers. I've just given you a way to help find candidates. Now you do the legwork of finding out if the option premiums are high enough for you. And notice I didn't suggest you filter by IV: that's not a good way to do it. ***Pick the underlying first,*** then decide how you want to make money on it. I didn't mention RSI either, but you can certainly play with that. And there are filters for "Last x-day/month price change," both by dollars and percent, and you can mess with those if you want. And in the Technical view, BC even gives an Opinion column, with Buy/Sell ratings, so you might take those into account. In the end, I just brute force it: stocks or ETFs, price range, sort by recent x-month performance, then flip through charts. That might be 50-100, but they go fast. *Don't overthink that part!* If you have a 5th-grader around, explain price action a little bit, and that their allowance will be in one of these tickers, then ask them which charts look "good." Have fun!

The MBT is focused on “recent use” detection of delta-9 THC as opposed to urine, blood and saliva methods (that can detect delta-9 THC many hours, days, or even weeks after consumption) (1). >Cannabix and Omega are working together to implement the MBT with select key clients and undertake a phased ramp-up to meet demand. Furthermore, the delivery of the initial units will support the coordination and the integration of breath testing (using Cannabix Breath Cartridges) into Omega’s suite of services and lab testing protocols. The parties are working together on manufacturing, marketing, distribution, support and logistics for the MBT. With the current shipment Cannabix has delivered 200 Breath Cartridges and several BCUs. >Omega Laboratories is an international industry leader in forensic drugs of abuse testing for over twenty years. Omega has multiple federal as well as international certifications and accreditations for its world class facility and has extensive experience in novel technology for detection of drugs of abuse. >Earlier in the year, Omega delivered a Validation Packet for Omega’s Laboratory Developed Test Method to test delta9 THC analytes. The Validation Packet was performed in Omega’s ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory environment utilizing their well recognized Quality Management System...

I recommend investing in the Cariboo BC. Crazy amount of people moving there, I bought 3 properties so far in Quesnel. Excellent rental income with a near zero vacancy rate. Cheap cost of entry.

You can't be serious? This is like standing in Syracuse in 200 BC saying every boat for the rest of history will be a Trireme. Think about how we're talking about AI and how every white collar job in America relies on SaaS. The first wave of AI software will help coordinate tasks across that ecosystem because how else could it possibly help or eliminate white collar work? But what will the future generations of that tech look like? AI is new in the same way that the PC was new. Its going to disrupt everything and new types of machines with different ways of computing will HAVE to be introduced to be able to maximize the capability of AI. Why would we use Windows for the rest of history? In the US sure but China does not want it's entire future built on the american software stack just because they were busy starving and dying under Maosim back when we created computers in the 60s and 70s and such. They will build new systems. Quantum computing will also reshape all of this. It's very naive to assume that workers will still be using Windows, Mac OS, and SaaS models in 50 years. 20 years? Maybe, yes. But this is like saying "there's only one way to pick cotton" in the year 1800, or investing everything in canal development in 1850.
