When people stop thinking of BC in terms of 'how many $$$ is it worth?', then you might have something. PT Barnum once said something, I forget... 🤔 Gold is cool, at least I can melt it down and make a grill out of it. I do feel for the dude with $1B lost in a British trash heap.
Could bitcoin become the world’s reserve, like all currencies get pegged by BC? Eliminating the dollar possibly making currency more stable? I think the world should dump currencies and have a global currency and be done with all these exchange rates
He should send me some BC to sell first. But honestly I´d prefer he just sends me the money after he sold.
The government will just make everyone turn in their BC like they did with gold. Duh.
Yeah I’m in Canada. Canada’s not bad but our biggest province which is like half our population is really dependent on auto manufacturing esp. for the Big 3. Ontario is pretty much the same as Michigan economically. Quebec and BC are pretty sick but it’s hard to move around in Canada.
BC also maintain dams for US. If they open dams whole of Seattle and part of Oregon will flood.
BC has been screwed by USA so many times, I'm glad this time it's National. Its forcing us to get our shit together and look elsewhere for trade Its going to suck for a few years but we should be stronger in the end
If I get the internship, should I go to British Columbia for 4 months? It’s an investment company located in Victoria, BC. And they’ll pay for my both way flights too, pay is 31 Canadian an hour. But I have no idea if Victoria, BC has got girls or not 😭

At this point it’s really just BC
Yup. I think here in Canada at least we're planning what seems to be grid modernization. They're connecting British Columbia to the Yukon over the next few years, which will let them achieve a lot more in terms of development and potentially mining up there. (The line will be ~800km long.) I also suspect power generation wise we're going to see a small surge in nuclear, though as of yet news on that front has been pretty quiet. Additionally some provinces (cough, Alberta, cough) are really calling for pipelines to ship crude to refineries and LNG elsewhere. (As of yet no private company or consortium has shown interest in building a new pipeline.) Getting the oil from Alberta to either coast is the challenge - which wasn't as huge of a problem when we were shipping it south. Environmental regulation wise we've passed legislation to speed up the process (with potentially detrimental effects) of environmental approvals. Mainly, the feds are looking to sync up with the Provinces so that there doesn't need to be double assessments to meet requirements from both, ideally bringing approval timelines down and making infrastructure development speedier. Anyway, if anything playing the electrification theme in Canada might be a decent idea. But yes, it certainly won't happen overnight. A new pipeline would be a decade long project, and connecting the BC / Yukon would also take years. There may not be as much *money* in it up here, but it's the stock price and profit that matters.
Remember, that BC crashed 50 % or more 6 times in the last 14 years?
"by way of the great-grandfather who left money for only the males of the family" Hopefully your not in Canada. Here any female that didnt get inheritance could take the will to court under discrimination argument and win. It has happened before in BC. Inheritance should be sacred.
How to make money on stock market as a company in 2025? Just do something, anything and slap an AI to it. STON - Stone - we make stones with AI!!! So you can bang your head with but smart! TLTS - Toilets - we make toilets but with AI!!!! So you can shit smart! And other stuff. Antibiotics are perfect as they are. There is nothing more that you can do to them. Same thing happened with the wheel. The wheel did not evolved that much since… 3.500 BC. Yes, we added rubber to it or made them from steel/wood/other stuff but that it is.

This is great news! $NAK **VANCOUVER, BC /** [**ACCESS Newswire**](https://www.accessnewswire.com/) **/ July 4, 2025 /** Northern Dynasty Minerals Ltd. (TSX:NDM)(NYSE American:NAK) ("**Northern Dynasty**" or the "**Company**") and its 100%-owned U.S.-based subsidiary Pebble Limited Partnership ("**Pebble Partnership**" or "**PLP**") announce that we are negotiating with the Environmental Protection Agency ("**EPA**") to explore a potential settlement. In the latest EPA court filing, dated July 3, 2025, the text includes "…*agency officials were briefed on the litigation and have been actively considering the agency decisions. Agency officials remain open to reconsideration, and defendants and PLP are negotiating to explore a potential settlement. Those discussions have addressed a potential further submission from PLP that would inform any agency reconsideration. Defendants and PLP currently expect to reach agreement within the next two weeks about what that submission would entail*…*Accordingly, defendants and PLP respectfully request that the Court extend the abeyance for an additional 14 days, with a status report due on July 17, 2025*…" "We are pleased to be in discussions with the EPA, because we see this as the fastest path forward for withdrawal of the veto. They have asked for additional information to assist in finalizing that decision," said Ron Thiessen, Northern Dynasty President and CEO. "A decision to withdraw this egregious and unsubstantiated veto would help the U.S. to secure a domestic supply of metals like copper, which is critical for the economy because of its fundamental use in electrification, and rhenium, which is a key component in several military applications. It also provides the opportunity for significant economic benefits over generations in this region of Alaska, the state and the country and would be consistent with the stated pledge of this administration to remove impediments to permitting."
UNEMPLOYMENT LOW BC ALL THE BERS R WORKING AT WENDYS FunnySpanishMan
I’m in Seattle and just got back from staying overnight at a tribal casino/resort…1 of 6 within 45 minutes drive from home. Free hotel room comp since we’re regulars and none of that resort fee nonsense Vegas hotels all charge. We still go to Vegas 5 times a year to bet on the Triple Crown horse races and Vegas Speedway summer weekend. Vegas doesn’t have the chokehold on gambling it used to have before tribal casinos. I can visit the kids in San Diego or San Francisco and have dinner at a tribal casinos down there in half an hours drive. We also used to spend a few nights up in Richmond BC’s River Rock Casino but $250 for a room and the two hour drive to the border isn’t even on our radar anymore. Canadians staying away? No shortage of Canadian cars at the Marysville Costco or Tulalip Outlet Mall every time we’re there. Guess all them Canadians loading up on luxuries, gas and groceries don’t know they’re not welcome here. LOL!
Real question - what are you guys putting in the water in Vancouver BC - the women there are superb!
IF YOU MISSED THE $HOOD RUN HOP ON THE $BULL RUN BC ITS JUST GETTING STARTED. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
It sucks that there's all these formerly awesome cities that I wanted to go to, and now, everybody is saying they suck or are crazy overrated and not worth it. Feel like I missed my chance to go to Rome, Paris, London, Toronto, etc... Luckily I did go to Vancouver BC before it's turned to shit. Assuming it has? I know it's one of the most expensive locations on Earth, for basically everything
BC apples, Ontario and BC wines... I'm buying Canadian as much as possible, and likely not going to change my buying habits once he's gone.
Yes it would but I doubt an export restriction would be placed. Plus you’re talking about oil, potash and uranium. The vast majority of the 30+ other natural resources that are exported come from BC, Ontario and Quebec.
Yes except for the Alberta and Saskatchewan. Government-run liquor stores removed it from shelves and stopped orders. In BC and Ontario at least, government stores are the largest distributors. Private can do whatever it wants, but it is still subject to counter-tariffs and most people avoid it, anyways. Most stuff we buy in BC was already local so it's not a huge deal. There's plenty of local and international alternatives to try out. For some dumb reason inter-provincial trade between provinces has not really been a thing historically, but now there's a big effort to open it up, so liquor from other provinces should start coming in later in the year. So far my life is pretty uneffected, Trump and the red state voters have just made "Made in USA" gross for me and its hardly an inconvience to find an item from elsewhere. Everyone know feels the same, so I assume the sentiment is very common. Hopefully he chills out already and the trade that's beneficial for both counties can resume. The trust is broken forever, though. We never thought that one guy could feel spiteful and direct the rest of the USA to hurt us. Clearly all of the decision makers that matter are on board with it, and the people who empower them don't care enough to do anything about it.
Also helping our internal trade. As Trump helps us to finally kick down interprovincial trade barriers, economists expect it to increase our GDP by up to 20%. Our internal trade barriers are unbelievably damaging, and it hurts seeing all the idiots who have wanted to keep them up over the years. The last big holdouts are Quebec and to a lesser extent BC. If Quebec were to leave, Canada would be much better off. Especially after we moved all federal government sponsored jobs back to their original provinces (that were moved to appease Quebec... mostly aircraft industry and RCAF, but also federal government jobs and federal government data centres). And never mind people from all over Canada could work for the feds once it becomes unilingual (instead of mostly from Quebec and eastern Ontario, the only places with many bilingual folks). But I digress. (And I can dream, if only this came true!)

Some Company DD CGAC has applied to Finra for name change and symbol 18mos ago. Companies with any negative history or that touch crypto or blockchain in any way, often taking over a year). Moreover, the depth of review and questioning has increased dramatically. Company has private backing on power generation(Using "GIGA" power equipment) might be wrong. This is a tired argument. There are plenty of other population corridors in the US that trains could work. LA to SF, LA to Vegas, LA to San Diego, Portland OR to Vancouver BC, LA to Phoenix, SF to Sacramento, to name a few.
Yes since 550 BC by the Lydians, it is arguably the most stable asset in history second only to debatably arable land.
Out of all the Mining stock plays are there any that are creating growth that's noticeable. Using new technology to lower cost(Digital Energy, Cheaper better cooling, etc...). If so what separates them their peers. Would like to hear if there are any that's handling the BC halving very well

Bro, go outside and go to a Costco and walmart. Business is booming. There is no civil war. Israel and Iran have been fighting each other since 1000 BC. Whenever there is a war, USA is always seen as a safe haven. Change your worldview.
Yeah it's been priced in since like 3500BC
oh no a region of the world that has been at war since 12000 BC had a little weekend skirmish. Better sell all my Microsoft and Eli Lilly stock. Do bears realize how fuckin regarded that sounds? Stonks only go up.
Why are there so many comments like this The area has been a hotbed of conflict for thousands of years, its not some new thing happening now Same old conflict over and over with different names, since before 3000 BC people have been fighting there from the pharaohs, the Romans, the Persians, the holy wars, literally a never ending conflict in the area, same place different fights

BC this pump is temporary and news can change by the hour if mango and elmo become besties again
Depends what province you live in. The state I live in has no state income tax, so with deductions, I get my return down to 15%. In BC, federal and provincial income taxes are above 50% for very high earners and that’s not factoring in other taxes (property, sales, implicit taxes via government monopolies in basically every industry).
Try again. My effective tax rate in BC was 53%. In WA it’s 15%. Good luck.
Company may be HQ’d in BC but their production is overseas.
This is the same company that wouldn't open a store in Vancouver BC if they wouldn't let them used government subsidized labor. Crash in value and take everyone with you.
INTE and Flybondi termination. This morning Flybondi filed an [RW](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/2053229/000121390025051341/ea0244727-rw_flybondi.htm). This is a filing to withdraw the F-4 from the SEC and in it they disclose that the BC has been terminated. The BC was approved back on March 28th, but the meeting also had extremely high redemptions. Only around 14k shares were left which likely made it difficult for them to get the Nasdaq approval to list the combined company. This seems like the most likely reason for termination but the reason could turn out being different if they are willing to disclose it in the coming 8-K.
BC the dear leader is being ignored by Xi.
I was mining bitcoin when it was $100... selling fractions for $20 at my local Starbucks. Decided to stop and left ~1 BC in a wallet on a virtual machine I deleted... Oh well.

I was a car salesman. U get a better deal if u say I will pay this amount and slap a credit card down. This is not how u negotiate. The seller won't go very low BC they don't know u will buy.
The EV rebate was dropped from $7k to $4k this year, matching BC. It'll be gone entirely as of 2027. That's why EV sales in general have dropped so much this year, $8k less rebates and price hikes across the board.
This is significant because Quebec province has the best EV rebate in Canada and there are way people than BC (the other province with a provincial EV rebate).
Markets in BC and QC are absorbing the loss of federal and provincial rebates + tariffs increased Model Y to a nearly 100k vehicle (when previously you could get it for 45k after rebates). There is no doubt the "elon brand destruction" exists but the EV category decline as a whole reacting to tariffs and rebate losses is the bigger reason. The product is still far and wide the best on the market regardless of engine type.
My cubicle buddy said his new gf is allergic to most forms of condoms and says its ok to hit it raw since she's on BC. Buddy not sure if its a baby trap but the girl is cpa professional and not some gold digger.
I would move your federal government up to Nunavut in an instant Alberta can be a conservative state Yukon merged into Alaska BC a liberal state And the other provinces their own state Maybe Quebec a territory like Peurto Rico is
Market starting to heat up a bit here in BC… still a lot of inventory tho
Let’s unpack this with facts instead of vibes. You claim exports are up but the top 5 exports are Oil, Gold, Cars, Oil & more Oil. Yes, genius, because that’s literally what Canada produces. You wanna swap those for artisanal NFTs? Canada’s top exports have consistently been energy products (crude oil, natural gas), vehicles, and minerals/metals. StatsCan Q1 2024 data shows exports rose 1.4% — led by energy and automotive exports to both the US and growing markets in Europe and Asia. Diversification isn’t instant, but it’s happening (hint: liquefied natural gas terminals opening in BC for Asian markets, look it up). *Our top purchaser is America.* No shit — welcome to living next to the world’s biggest economy. But while 75%+ of exports historically go to the US, 2023 saw Canada’s exports to non-US countries hit a record high $198 billion. Europe, China, Japan, South Korea — it’s not just a pipeline to America anymore. *Inflation went UP if you remove energy.* Well yeah, because energy deflation masked core inflation spikes — this isn’t a Canada problem, it’s a global post-pandemic market issue. US core inflation excluding energy also jumped 3.9% YoY last quarter. And no, the carbon tax isn’t why your bacon costs $9. It’s supply chains, housing policy stagnation, and global commodity volatility. *Soft landing is because Carney agreed with PP to remove liberal policy* Except Carney’s the PM now, and Poilievre isn’t even in cabinet — so there’s no “agreeing” going on. Monetary policy is still handled independently by the Bank of Canada, not the PMO, and inflation cooled because of aggressive interest rate hikes that started under Tiff Macklem, global commodity price corrections, and recovering supply chains. Fiscal tweaks like adjusting the carbon tax or certain federal rebates moved the needle slightly. *Gun buybacks, immigration caps, CBC cuts* Cool, tell me you get your talking points from Rebel News without telling me. None of those have direct correlation to monetary policy or inflation.
Anyone live in Vancouver BC? How is it? Cost of living good, etc?

FTEL.V / FSTTF – Still Flying Under the Radar 🚀 First Tellurium (FTEL) is looking more and more like a hidden gem. With the push for critical minerals in clean energy tech (especially tellurium for solar and semiconductors), this one’s got real potential. 🔹 Strategic asset in BC with strong exploration results 🔹 Key partner connections (including USGS) 🔹 Tight float – only ~100M shares 🔹 Still under $0.10 – any momentum could send it flying Don’t sleep on tellurium. It’s on the U.S. critical minerals list and FTEL is one of the few pure plays out there. Could be a serious breakout candidate in 2025.

I envy you. I lived in BC right across the WA border for 7 years. Miss it bad.
Holy shit! Are you THE greek philosopher and mathematician Thales of Miletus is often cited as the first known option buyer, around 600 BC, who essentially created a "call option" by paying a fee for the exclusive right to use olive presses???
If you haven’t been to BC the outdoors recreation scene is incredible/ come on up! I think Canadians still love to visit with you guys and besides you dollar goes a long way here
I'm a shop owner in Oregon. Canadians came down here regularly from BC & Alberta. Not so much lately. I read Canadian tourism is down 30%.
Agree to disagree. Brands matter. Thai stick and BC bud are great cannabis strains. Just like California and French wine are both great.
Calc BC
It may be cooked for real. They managed to piss off everyone. Android devs with constant breaking BC, Android users with constant stupid changes and restrictions, Chrome users with manifest3, Search users with bad results and shitty "AI" features, YouTube users with constant UI changes, bad search results, promoting alt right content, and trying (and failing) to block ad blockers.
BC a Waymo is programmed to stop. People in LA will see you and keep driving
I feel you man but hindsight is 20/20. I personally don’t risk any of that crap even tho I have 30+ years before retirement (in mid 20s). BC can easily go the opposite way — maybe not but I’m not gonna be one to find out haha. Majority of my investments are in tried and true methods even though they take time
If you have a long time horizon, no bad debt, and are looking to INVEST, not GAMBLE - VOO. What you could do is put the majority (think 85-95%) of your cash into ETFs and then dabble in BitCoin with the remaining 5–15%, depending on your risk tolerance, to diversify your portfolio a bit. In short, I would not trust BC or any crypto for the majority of my investments. There are definitely crypto millionaires out there but very few and far between —- Follow what works; VOO & chill
Over the past year, the majority of the premium craft flower grown in the Kootenay region of BC is sent to Aus. It’s getting harder for processors to maintain a steady supply for the rec market.
They have. Prior to a unified China in the Qin Dynasty, there were various kingdoms that engaged in diplomacy. The [advice of Zhuangzi to ‘diplomats’](https://www.britannica.com/topic/diplomacy/History-of-diplomacy) at the beginning of the 3rd century BC is applicable here >
That one’s definitely a deep sleeper. Pacific Booker Minerals (BKM) has been around forever, and yeah, it’s one of those names that randomly wakes up every few years when something shifts around the Morrison project. They’ve been stuck in permitting hell with BC’s government for over a decade, which is why the stock’s felt dead money for so long. But recently, there’s been a bit more activity, especially around the Morrison project finally moving forward after their environmental certificate was reinstated. If that actually leads to meaningful progress or a partner/joint venture, it could be a sleeper comeback story. That said, it's still very speculative. No updated economic study, no production timeline, and a long road ahead. But if they get real traction, it’s the kind of name that could re-rate fast just off potential. Worth keeping on a watchlist, especially if you’re already holding bags from the early 2000s. Just don’t expect fireworks overnight, it’s more of a “maybe something finally happens” play than a sure thing.
I've finally done my research on the company. Here's my take: This is one of those plays that’s flying under the radar but has serious potential if they pull it off. Northisle is a junior copper-gold explorer working on a massive 34,000 hectare land package on Vancouver Island, BC. The 2025 PEA just dropped with a $2B after tax NPV and 29% IRR based on phased development, and that’s at conservative metal prices. At spot prices? It jumps to $3.8B NPV and 45% IRR. So yeah, spicy numbers. They're sitting on 3.1 billion lbs of copper and 6.9 million oz of gold in indicated resources, and the project has legit infrastructure already in place, roads, power, port access. That alone cuts down a ton of the usual development friction you see in more remote projects. Capex for Phase 1 is $1.1B. That’s no joke for a company with \~$4M cash and a $183M market cap. They’ll need a big JV, a deep pocketed partner, or to print shares like it’s 2021. That’s the catch. Big upside, but big financing risk = dilution risk. Trading at around $0.71 right now, it’s roughly 9% of NPV. Cheap on paper, but that’s junior mining, nothing's priced for perfection because everyone knows how much can go sideways between PEA and production. I like it for what it is: a high-risk, high-reward copper-gold spec. If they execute and financing doesn’t crater the share structure, this could easily be a multi bagger. BC is mining friendly, metals are trending, and copper’s long term macro is strong. But don’t get it twisted, it’s not a "safe" bet. Size your position like it could go to zero (because it can), keep tabs on 2025 drill results, and watch for offtakes or JV chatter. This could be a 5x story if they deliver, but if you’re throwing rent money at this, you deserve the rug. Set alerts, and respect the risk. This one’s for the bold. Might consider doing a seperate write up on it.
It's another shot at Canada, cuz there's a lot of filming done in "Hollywood North", or BC.
You're welcome, hope it was helpful. For your new questions, let me copy something here I replied to someone yesterday, then at the end I'll make sure it captures everything you asked. >Find a chart you like, then see if it's a good company. It's okay to buy things that are going up; you don't have to try to predict what 'should' go up. >Barchart is great for keeping watchlists. I have 10 of them, with lots of different themes. My most-used are Non-Leveraged ETFs and Top 250 Stocks by Market Cap. When I need a new trade I pull up one of those watchlists, sort by recent performance (3 months, 6 months, more if you like), then use BC's Flipcharts feature to quickly flip through the charts in the watchlist. (Set that to Line Chart and 1-Year first.) >If you have one handy, have a 5th-grader look at the charts with you. Tell them you'll put their allowance in one of those companies, and that up means the money will grow, down means it'll get smaller. Ask them where they'd want their money. >Then do a short review of the company on Yahoo Finance. You don't need to read quarterly reports, just how long has it been around? Maybe what's the P/E, and is that high for the sector? Do they have a dividend; if so, have they grown it? Pop into the Community tab and see what people are saying about it. Search for it in [r/Stocks](https://www.reddit.com/r/Stocks/), and maybe here in [r/Options](https://www.reddit.com/r/Options/). If you know the company, that's a bonus (Walmart, Costco? Check their charts.) >Once you have a warm fuzzy feeling about it, buy a Call at 80-delta about a year out. Then sell a Call at 30-delta or less about a month out. Tada, you've built the Poor Man's Covered Call. >But if you do it right, over and over, you're going to be a Rich Man. Not in the next month or year. But ten? Twenty? Better than buying stock and selling CCs, even with the dividends you miss with Calls. Okay, I think that covered your questions pretty well. Do you buy stocks/ETFs/Indices now? Keep doing that, but use options.
THERES NO SUCH THING AS A MOVIE TARIFF BC MOVIES ARE DIGITAL AND NOT PHYSICALLY IMPORTED. Christ.
He’s particularly aiming at Vancouver. Navarro has a raging hate-on for the premier of BC. This came from him.
Puts on Vancouver, BC Film/TV Industry.
