As many Redditors have stated already you can't go too wrong with VOO, VT and/or VTI. If a market disaster happens you'll find that nearly all funds and stocks will have the same trend lines. Personally, I'm a fan of dividend paying funds or stocks as well. Because in most cases, the dividend paying companies and funds continue to pay unless they hit some financial dire straits. Check out [https://www.buyupside.com](https://www.buyupside.com) - Dividend Aristocrats which will show companies that have paid dividends year in and year out for 25 consecutive years or more. That site also has good AI stock information. Note that technology changes quickly so expect AI/Biotech to be volatile. I personally enjoy monthly paying dividends to smooth the income stream. Most companies pay quarterly. Closed End Funds frequently pay monthly. I use [https://www.cefconnect.com](https://www.cefconnect.com) to evaluate Closed End Funds. Funds I have are: CII, CSQ, BST - more tech focused but pay a dividend monthly. UTF and UTG - more utility focused and should do better in a lowering interest rate environment BME - Pharma focused fund Everything has risk. There will always be ups and downs.

Turn that resentment inward. Seriously. Punish yourself by being frugal to the point of asceticism. Pour your earnings into retirement vehicles until they overflow, then into non-tax-advantaged accounts in broad, low-cost index funds with low yields. Watch the coin multiply. When I was 21 I had been admitted to an excellent MD/PhD program (BME was my program of choice, I wanted to do orthopedic surgery and run a biomaterials lab in academia), but my mom developed non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. I declined the offer and cared for her through 7 years of remission/recurrence, then went into engineering, then management, then executive level. I didn't even have a bachelor's degree until I was 33. The experience turned me cold for a bit. Seeing everyone traveling and getting married in the interim. My response was to save 70% of my net income minus loan payments. It was catharsis by pain. I drove a 19 year old Toyota when I was running a group of 20 people. Looking back now, this self-flagellating exercise in frugality was the best choice of my life. The bull markets early in your investing career matter LEAST. By far. The most important part is the timing of your last bull run with respect to de-risking reallocation. If you go from 90/10 to 30/70, for example, at the end of a long bull run you'll be in a very different category than if you did it after a major drop off, so be flexible about retirement date. That's it, you're all set.

Hi guys, wanted to hear what y’all think about my portfolio. Some background about me: 22M from Bulgaria, started investing in August 2022 and would like to take advantage of the current low-ish stock prices on the market. I have no debt at all and I’ve moderate risk tolerance. I’m also a fan of renewable energy stocks since I can see Europe being more reliant on renewable energy production after severing ties with Russia. DCA-ing roughly $250 monthly and I won’t be needing this money in the near future, so I’ve a broad time horizon. Please let me know what you think about my portfolio: GOOG - 20% MSFT - 15% AMZN - 15% PNE3 (Wind energy production, Germany) - 15% BME: SLR (Solar energy production, Spain) - 15% iShares Core S&P 500 ETF SXR8 (ACC) - 20% I’ve also invested some experimental $200 in a German company called CLIQ (budget Netflix) but I’m not planning on buying any more of that. What would you do differently? Any received feedback would be highly appreciated!

You're doing fine and you're not drowning :). Student loan originators will work with you on a payment plan you can manage. In the meantime do some more engineering and go visit some of the programs in which you would like to match and get to know the residents and PD. I knew a few people who didn't match first try and most did fine later. I did degrees in physics and BME before going to medical school and I'm glad I did. They have opened a ton of opportunities to me that turned out well.

Google translation (I'm too busy watching the stock to do it myself): The GameStop case is a real threat to European securities supervisors. When volatility broke out in the price of the video game store between late January and mid-February, the CNMV and other securities commissions warned of the risks. The European coordinator of the market watchers, ESMA, has also decided to take action on the matter and investigate how buy-sell orders are executed in intermediaries, especially free ones. The possible interests crossed with the hedge funds that bet on the fall of the values are in the target. The role of online brokers in the recent surge in retail engagement should be further investigated, according to supervisors. In BME alone, the number of deals shot up 49.6% last year, to 55.7 million, despite the fact that annual cash fell 8.6%. This is due to the eagerness of small investors to make money in record time in the face of the strong volatility suffered in 2020. In a recent appearance before the Economic Commission, the president of ESMA, Steven Maijoor, warned that intermediaries without commissions must be monitored. "Without a doubt, the lower costs for retail investors are a positive development [...]. But no food is free," he said. In essence, the method used by brokers at no cost to investors, such as Robinhood, is to take buy-and-sell orders to large hedge funds, such as Citadel Securities, a Citadel subsidiary, to which they send half of their trades. customers. There the orders are crossed without going through a book, which in many cases prevents the best price for the client from being achieved, while the intermediary receives a commission for taking the order there. It is true that the regulations on both sides of the Atlantic are different. "The situation differs between the United States, where this operation is the order of the day, and Europe, where the Mifid 2 directive, which came into force in 2018, has imposed important restrictions",points out Armando Platero, from DeGiro Spain. "Many end investors have complained about the decision of some intermediaries to restrict their execution service in GameStop shares and have accused them of having conflicts of interest with hedge funds," reveals a Euronext document. "The practice of payment for order flow should be evaluated based on the requirements of Mifid 2 on the keys of conflicts of interest, criteria of best execution and incentives," according to the head of ESMA. Community regulation unifies a large part of the obligations regarding the best execution. Ultimately, this means that an investor obtains the best price for his operation. That whoever wants to get rid of Telefónica securities, for example, does so at 3.71 euros per share if he can opt for that price, and not at 3.70 even if this is the price offered on a cheaper platform for the intermediary . Those eventual 0.01 euros per title are usually more expensive for the client than a reasonable commission in percentage. Risks The DeGiro Spain expert points out that in some European countries there is scope for intermediaries to receive incentives for taking their clients' orders to a certain market. In Spain, this situation does not occur, but alternative markets such as Chi-X, Bats and Turquoise are operating, with market shares in Ibex values of 5% to 12%, compared to more than 70% of BME. Price spreads between buy and sell orders are 14 basis points between BME and the market with less volume, according to LiquidMetrix. And the figures are even more striking in the securities that are not part of the Ibex 35. In the Medium Cap firms, BME's share was 90.4% in 2020. The classic Stock Exchanges are reinforced as guarantors of liquidity. Euronext launches the idea that free brokers banned sales on GameStop to protect hedge funds, some of them predictably with bearish interests in the video game store chain. Something that both Robinhood and Citadel Securities have denied, alluding to liquidity problems to comply with the regulations. And although it highlights that this contamination is more difficult in Europe, it also warns that there are cases in which the end customer does not benefit from the best prices. In the Old Continent, hegde funds are not allowed to remunerate brokers directly, although platforms can act as intermediaries to allow this practice. Intermediaries and hegde funds can negotiate a favorable strike price for the latter. "In return, the trading platform receives significant financial compensation from the hedge fund, and the execution service on the trading platform is free for the retail broker," they explain from Euronext. THE REBELLION RETURNS TO THE CHARGE Resurrection. GameStop hit a low of $ 2.3 per share on the Covid outbreak, hit a record high of around $ 350 in late January and, after that peak, sank to $ 40. But in recent sessions the bullish fury has returned, with a revaluation of more than 500% since the end of February. The other company skyrocketed by the Reddit foreros was the AMC Entertainment theater chain. After hitting a low of $ 2 a share on Jan. 5, it closed at a high of nearly $ 20 on Feb. 27. Then came the sell orders, which lowered the price below $ 6. But, like GameStop, it has risen from its ashes and has nearly doubled in price since then. Politics. Armando Platero reminds that European clients can always check how their broker executes their orders through the order execution policy document and if it gives access to the main markets. Also, remember that to choose the best broker it is also important to check where the orders are executed, since the choice of the markets chosen by the intermediary can have an impact on the price at which the orders are executed. It is true that the modification of Mifid 2 approved by the EU in mid-February exempts for two years from the publication obligations on quality and execution center.

I subscribed for 10K of BIGZ. Hope to get it. I own other Blackrock CEFs (BME, BMEZ, BST, BSTZ) and they have been great performers in stock price appreciation and monthly dividend payers.

I bought a couple of dips but I'm in: DIS, GOOGL, APPL, GAW, AMZN, BME, DOCZ, AZN (Thank god for this stock carrying me right now), BARC (again doing good for me), and GYM (pretty great). I was also big in boohoo but sold for profits when the modern slavery concerns arose and the chair got interested in a new float.

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but remember GME is worth under $20 per share, nothing has changed in GME fundamentals since this price, tickers always return to fundamental value, there is no cum winner in options, every dollar made by a trader is offset with an equivalent loss by another, those entering BME near the bottom will make millions, those entering later will lose millions, it is pure speculation that the passion about the squeeze will continue beyond today, etc. If you are not considering a bear trade, I advise making your final decision about a GME trade after completing 100 paper money trades that have a cum profit.

Yep - I have a BME degree, but I loaded my optional coursework with heavy Mech E upper level classes, because I realized the gap there, while my fellow classmates took stupid shit for an easy A. Enjoy not having taken Mechanics 2, Thermodynamics, Basic Strengths of Materials, etc. Never mind, I'm the asshole, most of them are making way more than me in the management side anyway.
