The bid is what the MM's will PAY YOU for something (stock/option) and the ASK is what they want YOU to pay THEM. If you have been trading for a while you may have noticed that sometimes the bid/ask looks really juicy and it entices you to put in a bid. Say you want to sell a put and you see a delta of maybe 10-15-20 and a bid ask that looks just too good to turn down for that trade. Example... - and "picking numbers out of the air" - the bid/ask is 25/75.. You think wow if I could get 50 for that it would be a gift so you try to sell a put contract for 50. INSTANTLY the bid/ask changes to 25/50... You think WHAT???... oh well let's try 35 and INSTANTLY the bid/ask changes to 25-35 and you still don't get a fill!!! My point is it’s not at all as simple as you boil it down to. And economics would tell you that if enough of the market shifts away from dependence then you allow the gulf region to have more market power. Let’s do a hypothetical. All of a sudden there’s a new global oil reserve larger than what is in the gulf states. Let’s say it’s some peaceful region like idk, Northern Europe. No extra hypothetical. And let’s say Japan happens to find an insane amount of oil of its cost and becomes a regional exporter. So now, none of those countries are dependent. But Iran and the other gulf states still have oil to sell. So they make oil cheaper? Irania oil is already several $ cheaper for China since Iran has sanctions on it oil. So the nations that are now exporting are competing in price with the US and with the gulf. All that happens is energy is overall cheaper and the gulf states solidify their sovereignty. They are able to build large nations with large regional militaries. Nothing else happens. It makes them a stronger power to build nuclear weapons and deter US militaries. Aka it strengthens their SOVEREIGNTY. They aren’t in the game to interrupt global economies. THEY ARE IN THE GAME FOR SOVEREIGNTY. By reducing global independence you are doing Iran the favor they desire.

Funny thing about Mr. Markusic—it’s “rumored” that he stole proprietary documents from other companies he’s worked at and used it to make certain things at Firefly. As a result, a lot of people have a personal gripe with him (aside from the fact that he’s known as a prick). IIRC he isn’t with Firefly anymore and he started a small suborbital flight startup. My main gripe with Firefly is that there is no established or even promising revenue generator. Their Blue Ghost (Lunar Lander) team is uber cracked, but that doesn’t mean that the rest of the company is. Elytra is yet to be proven as a reliable vehicle, Alpha is high key in the shitter and is difficult to produce at rate (Rocket Lab can get away with production of Electron at rate because it’s small, and Neutron will probably be fine considering the tooling they’ve bought/developed for it), and the same argument applies for Eclipse/MLV/Antares, Firefly has made no clear paths towards readability for either of their rockets (at least publicly, catching Eclipse/Antares might be smart ;) ), and Lunar contracts alone can’t sustain a company with the breadth of Firefly. Another factor to consider is that several people in their executive leadership are either technically incompetent (at least for their role in the company, not naming names) or are generally bad managers riding on other people’s accomplishments. “Let me flip the question back on you. How can you all do more with less?” IYKYK The only reason I have shares is that if the company goes belly up, Northrop Grumman will probably buy it (or at least their Eclipse/Antares), but that’s just a theory (A GAME THEORY) Regarding the whole thing about Astra/Chris Kemp shitting in Firefly, I’m pretty sure that Astra tried drilling a hole in the combustion chamber to put a thermocouple in it (I have no clue why the fuck you would do this btw, and no the answer isn’t “to take temperature data”) and then surprise surprise, the engine shat itself. Not to mention the fact that the engines sold to Astra were rumored to be the worst performing engines on hand (that worked), but did so for some extra revenue and potential test data. TLDR: Astra fucked their own engine up, and Firefly may or may not have scammed Astra for some extra money (which is extremely funny to me) If you have a good, INFORMED argument on how FLY could be a great play (with specifics on programs and potential projects) WITHOUT mentioning SpaceX, Rocket Lab, or AST Spacemobile (their satellites are dogshit btw, just so you know), I’ll gladly hear it and consider it.
