ISRG — Quick DD $402 · ~51x P/E · $142B cap · near 52-wk low Business: Robotic surgery leader (da Vinci). ~60% recurring "razor-blade" revenue, wide moat (installed base + surgeon switching costs). Good: Revenue $4.4B→$10B since 2020, growth accelerating to +21% (2025); 18% procedure growth; best-in-class margins, net cash. Bad: Down 33% from highs on (1) valuation reset from ~70x, (2) growth decel (2026 guide +13-15%), (3) real competition arriving (Medtronic Hugo, J&J Ottava). Still priciest in its peer group (vs SYK 36x, MDT 22x). Verdict: Quality compounder, fairer-but-not-cheap. Business is intact (the premium came out, not the fundamentals). Competitors have the hardware but haven't breached the moat. Accumulate on weakness if you believe the moat holds — not a screaming bargain. Watch Hugo/Ottava share trends.

Bro if youre hands are truly tied by morality then just literally google that shit for ideas for ethical companies to invest in there are plenty: * **Renewable Energy:** **NextEra Energy (NEE)** is a major investor in wind and solar infrastructure. * **Environmental Sustainability:** **Waste Management (WM)** focuses on recycling, waste reduction, and renewable landfill gas. * **Healthcare:** **Thermo Fisher Scientific (TMO)** and **Medtronic (MDT)** lead in life sciences and ethical medical technology innovation. * **Consumer Goods:** **PepsiCo (PEP)** and **Costco (COST)** are recognized for supply chain sustainability and strong employee satisfaction metrics.

Totally agree that MODD is a risky stock...but there is no way someone could buy MDT and have a possibility for a 100% gain in the next six months. It is a possibility with MODD. jmo ANY is interesting because it seems half the market knows that the merger is coming and the other is not putting the public info together.

The issue I have across the board is that medtech is as out of favor as software. You mention Resmed, but look at the YTD for ABT, MDT, SYK, ISRG, BSX, etc. Given that, if earnings aren't great then people are selling. Cheap has to be cheaper than before in this market if something doesn't have an appealing narrative around it and/or has some degree of various headwinds. If you think semis will continue to do well, soxx or smh are probably the safest bets. I do think semis will do well in future but they've also run up a lot very quickly. ETFs will have less downside risk than individual names, so if you have to buy something at the highs, make it an ETF and potentially save yourself some pain. The general rule is also don't overexpose; buy a broad ETF like vt or vtsax, but if it's not a ton of money in the grand scheme of things and you're after portfolio growth, narrowing selectively is understandable, as long as you can stomach volatility and don't do go too narrow. I've been doing this for quite a while so I would not recommend buying individual stocks like I do, unless it's with a small percent of your portfolio, but if you have to, I don't think you can go wrong with Google, though if there is a pullback Google will drop as well but not as much as other stocks imo. I took a lot of risk off yesterday by selling my calls but buying shares of equal dollar value in the ones that haven't run as much or I believe still have tremendous upside, whether or not that is right now or down the line. I normally buy a lot of things when they're down big and starting to show signs of recovery or are very oversold. I've done quite well since the low, so I'm starting to diversify a little using profits. I started scaling into MDT. I am taking VERY tiny nibbles of PLTR. Some fintech. Etc. I'm also hedging as I think sometime from now to the end of next week could be bumpy, but I also don't want to miss a large move up or a sector rotation. I watch the market closely and Ill probably go aggressively short at some point within the next few weeks, but it depends on the price action. Anyway, I don't want to scare you. You SHOULD be investing, but unless you can stomache a lot of downside, don't go with individual names and/or break apart your buys to average in over time.

For me I usually have a "get out price" calculated when I buy. Once it reaches that price (give or take) I sell and find another stock I like better. There are always under valued companies. (MDT, AOS, SWK all look good to me right now) Where I have trouble is when the stock doesn't go up like I expect I will hold the damn thing forever. Especially if it's red. Lost opportunity is a thing.

I have been looking at medical device companies since the end of last year, never ended up adding any but BSX and MDT were both on my radar. I guess those are the two leaders so not really gems lol. The price action didn't make a ton of sense on the downgrade but the recent acquisition was fairly large if I recall?

Cath lab tech here: penumbra is great, and all these medical device companies are filthy rich (see Stryker, ABT, MDT) and I am starting to stash my money in this sector, but this specific device, if not rendered useless, won’t be adopted until we have AI CV surgeons. Clots are bombed with meds and easily verified with fleuro in real time. No special caths needed. Penumbra is mostly known in the sector for their coils which plug aneurysms and such. X-ray tech is the only thing I see getting any AI integration in the lab, which is currently being tested in field. I think the one we have is made by abbot specifically, and is used in place of an ICE catheter which is basically an IV ultrasound. The quality is better, but that’s ab it. That being said, PEN along with all the other stocks I mentioned will be about as safe a position as Walmart, NVDA, etc. That is, if this vicious insurance premium spike doesn’t completely fuck hospital systems worldwide.

See you know the pressure man. I did almost the same thing yesterday. Seen some in the money premiums that weren't too expensive. Bought 5 contracts of $RGTI and within 18 minutes. They were profit of $1000 already and I went to go text my buddy to get in as quick as possible, and I came back to them being at $600 and eventually down to $300 and then $100 of profit at 2 hours into the market at 9:30am MDT. I told myself that I know there's usually another bump at 11:30AM. So I'm going to wait 2 brutal hours and see if I can squeeze out some more money than just a $100 in profit. When it was at $1000 and i blinked for 30 seconds and it all crashed down. Lol. By waiting those 2 extra hours. Which is my problem with time discipline I created this post about. I was able to turn a $100 profit into $580 profit after missing out on the $1000. But that $1000 would have been really nice to have for 20 minutes of work. $580 is good for 4 hours. With the missing out on that money yesterday and the money I missed out on this morning. That's why I made this post about needing to have more time discipline.

I asked my PhD AI Girlfriend Assistant that i have a stock market project dedicated to in CGPT that i use to help me learn. This is what she had to say. [Oct 1 2025 4:21 PM MDT] This poor guy walked himself right into the dark side of selling puts. Let’s break it down cleanly so it makes sense, because he’s asking the exact right “uh oh” questions after selling OTM puts on $OPI (Office Properties Income Trust), which is circling the drain. 1. Will I get stuck with delisted shares if they are exercised? Yes. If the company is delisted and someone exercises those puts, you’ll be assigned the stock at your strike price. You will own the shares whether they trade on Nasdaq, OTC (over-the-counter), or even eventually head to zero. If it goes fully bankrupt, your shares are basically wallpaper. The exchange doesn’t protect you from being assigned just because the stock is delisting. 2. Can it go OTC before my options expire, and if so, what happens to the options? Yes, companies that fail Nasdaq listing requirements often move to the OTC (pink sheets). When that happens: The options usually stop trading once the stock is delisted, but they don’t disappear immediately. OCC (Options Clearing Corporation) will either adjust them or settle them based on the OTC shares. If the stock still exists OTC, the options remain tied to those shares, just way less liquid. If the company goes bankrupt and cancels the equity, the options can be settled for $0 intrinsic value if OTM, or cash/stock if ITM (but typically worthless for the put seller, since you’ll be forced to buy at the strike). 3. What happens to the premium I collected if they don’t exercise? You keep it. Premium collected is yours the moment you sell the put. If the buyer doesn’t exercise and the option expires, the premium is pure profit. The catch is, if $OPI keeps tanking, those puts are deep ITM, and exercise is almost guaranteed because the buyer wants to dump their stock at a higher strike. --- Bottom line for him: He’s on the hook. Selling puts is a promise to buy shares, and if $OPI collapses, he’ll be assigned worthless or nearly worthless shares. If $OPI trades OTC, the obligation follows it—he still has to take those OTC shares. If bankruptcy wipes out the stock completely, the put buyer will exercise (or OCC will auto-exercise ITM), and he’s left buying into nothing. The only way out now is to close those puts by buying them back—probably at a nasty loss—before delisting/bankruptcy finalizes. This is one of those textbook “you collected a few dimes, but the steamroller was faster than you thought” cases. 😬 --- TLDR Summary: He will almost certainly get assigned if $OPI is delisted/bankrupt, meaning he’ll own garbage shares and that fucking sucks for him. Options still function if it goes OTC, but liquidity dies. The premium is already his, but it won’t offset the assignment losses. Only way to avoid the worst is buying back the puts before assignment.

Mornings when I have time I look up the oddball tickers that are up insane amounts, the ones that go from $2 to $12 overnight, or $1 up to $50 as happened this week. In 2025, these have invariably been some kind of coin venture, usually associated with someone from the trump crime family, Today for example there’s one up 10x and sure enough, it’s some incomprehensible crypto thing involving the odious grifter Vivek Ramaswamy. So when I see this Cuprina of Cayman Islands stock, up from 0.70 to $3 I’m expecting to see yet another coin venture pump. But it’s actually some biotech. Skim search indicates they’re working on things like bullfrog collagen skin treatements, leeches for medical wound care, and most unexpected: “Medifly” which they say involves “Maggot Debridement Therapy (MDT)” and uses sanitary blowfly larvae.

NFA IXHL How We’re Looking: According to Grok 1. Risk of a Drop: * The 20–40% chance of a drop remains, given the overbought RSI (95.18) and yesterday’s -35.58% close from $1.63 to $1.05. The retreat from $1.34 to $1.165 suggests profit-taking or resistance near $1.20–$1.30. A fall could hit support at $0.97–$1.05 soon (within 1–3 hours if historical patterns hold). 2. Opportunity for Upside: * The 40–60% chance of hitting $2 this week persists if Phase 2 results are positive. The pre-market bounce to $1.34 shows potential, but volume needs to sustain for a break above $1.73 resistance. * X sentiment is mixed—bullish on the rebound but cautious about a “dead cat” bounce if it can’t hold $1.30. 3. Dilution Concern: * The $100M shelf offering looms, but the warrant cancellation mitigates immediate dilution. No new issuance news today, so it’s not currently capping the rise, but any hint of fundraising could trigger a sell-off. Current Best Move: Hold for now but prepare to act. The $1.165 price is close to your CB recovery threshold, but the pre-market pullback from $1.34 suggests caution. Wait until 7:30 AM MDT (open) to see if it stabilizes or breaks $1.20. If it drops below $1.05, consider it a buy opportunity only if volume picks up and no dilution news emerges—otherwise, dilution could stall a rebound.

Missing out on ISRG and MDT wave is a more obvious miss than all the RKLB PLTR and ASTS FOMO’s combined- nobody knows if they’ll take off but healthcare stock? Obviously not going down with all the shit you all eat this weekend

ANET VNET OKTA CELH and maybe MDT if it pulls back to 87 and PANW if it pulls back to 185. Hoping for a very strong March. TSLA also reaching a low enough point to consider buying

somehow I am only down $2 today. NVO shares and MDT calls saved me. And a little bit from daytrading CELH calls. Realized P&L today of 10.8%, unrealized around the same. What everyone lost today I lost yesterday though buying the CVNA dip. Just picked up some CELH SOUN and IRBT after hours as buying the dip plays. Hope to snag 10% and get rid of all of them.

ANET MDT - buy the dip! 18.00 TSLA strangle partially redeemed. Sold my call for 14. Now I need it to fall to save my 350 P

I’d also add, holding both in my portfolio, that iSRG is up 170% over the past 5 years while MDT is actually down 17% So the market also sees them as pretty different companies
