A few things to consider: Trump/Lutnick have advocated for US based semiconductor manufacturing and innovation. WOLF has recently invested $6 billion into two semiconductor facilities (focused on Silicon Carbide production) one in NC another in NY. WOLF’s backlog of design wins of over $12 billion has been documented frequently but that is longer term. Near term, they need to refinance about $575mm in convertible debt due next yr. Why that could happen and what are the catalysts and anecdotal factors: WOLF was earmarked for $750m in CHIPS grants from the Biden era that has not been cleared. Trump/Lutnick have effectively repurposed that CHIPS program and have called it the US Investment Accelerator. It’s being led by ex-MS banker Michael Grimes, who is now with US Commerce Dept. It’s been reported (as recently as last week’s FT article on WOLF) that Grimes and MS were previously WOLF (formerly CREE) bankers. WOLF has a new CEO, Robert Fuerle (ex-Micron, Siemens, etc). He starts in May. If you are him, what number on your priority list would be engaging the US Investment Accelerator team to ensure your previously awarded grant is cleared? Lutnick has stated he wants more prolific multi-billion dollar deals, so upsize the $750mm if necessary. But also highlight (scream from rafters) that WOLF has already invested $6 billion from their own balance sheet dedicated to the US semiconductor industry. How does this administration ignore that, when they are stating that those are the very companies they want to support? The above does multiple things in the near term. It signals to the market that WOLF’s new CEO has executed on one of the most vital balance sheet items. It removes the chapter 11 chatter. It fixes your near term financing needs and while the stock price might not go to 2021 highs, it should move WOLF’s market cap back into the low billions and stabilize the company.

Charlotte's not a bubble though. They just have the Californians and new Yorkers moving there and buying the limited real estate. Way harder for home prices to come down there when people are buying homes in cash and the people living in the homes pre 2021 monthly mortgage rate is 4x lower than the current people moving in. This means everyone moving in can afford the 4x increase as is, so more than likely almost everyone with a 4x cheaper one is swimming in the money and can afford to lose their jobs. or they are too poor to move elsewhere unless shit drops 4x which won't happen because it means housing prices have to drop to half what they were pre covid. This means going from 400k median to 100k median. And if Californians and new Yorkers are getting fired from their jobs, they're just going to move to NC and buy a 300k home before they ever sniff 100k. Note: housing is 2x more expensive but since mortgage rates doubled as well it's 4x more expensive.

We live in strange times. But if 1/4 of the population is brainwashed by Russia into thinking that djt is Jesus and will bring about the white nationalist isolationist golden age of no FEMA in tornado alley, then  China turning the screws in a big way (rather than the slow and steady trickle) is probably the best shot at getting the independents to change teams, impeach, and put domestic terrorism back on the DHS menu.  Everybody does need to hurt. Chuck Schumer needs to go. Debbie Wasserman-Shultz should be exiled with the Hegseth. The judge that let DOGE dismantle the Peace Institute so as “not to escalate the situation” should be removed for cowardice if not tried for treason. Tesla needs ti find its place next to Hertz. The MSM is culpable. AL,MS, LA, NC, SC, TN, GA, should do a couple rounds of no services or FEMA and see where it gets them. Farm subsidies should go and let the farmers see themselves for the welfare queens they are. Everybody does need to come down a notch.  The world has been subsidizing US life and it has created an idiocracy.

So, as a Canadian, you're saying you have expertise in the US election system? Districts are drawn so that votes can be erased. Then the votes can be thrown out if certain people don't like them (see the NC supreme court case right now) Then you have the constant propaganda. The party of christian values is very good on messaging - I'll give them that. When something happens, somehow millions of "independent thinkers" all come up with the same ridiculous argument. The Dems try to hold moral high ground and it costs them. Right now Dems don't have the House, Senate, Judicial or Executive. i.e. they've been castrated and had their balls handed to them. They don't have the power to do anything. But feel free to tell us what you think they can do. It happens all the damn time. 1 - The dems play fair and lose. 2 - Republicans make shit happen royally. 3 - Everyone screams "Why aren't the dems saving us?"

Ok, I’m a long time lurker on this sub, but I will comment here. This gets every Senator on record for how they feel about these tariffs. When this all goes awry, Democrats can you their support for the tariffs to unseat vulnerable Republicans. Republican Thom Tillis of NC is up for reelection in 2026 along with Susan Collins (R) from Maine. They are the most vulnerable to flip. Then, in 2028, NC and Wisconsin’s Republican senators are up for reelection in 2028 to gain a majority for the Democrats. How they will get this through cloture will be interesting, considering it requires 60 votes. Tim Kaine’s bill required Republicans to close debate, signaling that Republican congressional leadership doesn’t support the tariffs policy but not wanting to officially go against Trump.

It means banks issue their own notes redeemable by physical gold Now the way banks work is they take in deposits and lend them out, there always is a risk the depositors take the money out and there is not enough in reserve leading the bank to collapse , what is why the federal reserve will lend money and FDIC is there so people don't panic and do this, if you know FDIC insures your money , you hopefully won't take part in the bank run and if a bank run doesn't happen banks may not collapse . Now when the USA had free banking each bank printed its own money that you could in theory show up to the bank and get gold However when the USA had free banking this meant the USA was using 100s of different currencies , if you lived in Chicago , you might accept bank notes from local chicago banks, you might not want to accept a bank note from some place in North Carolina This basically meant while traveling you would lose money converting bank notes. Your bank note from Some bank in North Carolina might only be worth 0.95 in Chicago and 0.85 in Denver, or might not even be accepted Meaning if you went on some cross country trip , well it was like traveling through different countries with different currencies and you might have to trade your NC currency for Chicago currency and you would usually lose several % each time this happened Of course this was over 100 years ago and technology has changed and we have mega banks that are all across the country (JPM, Wells Fargo , Bank of America ect) but free banking basically meant as a business owner , someone could show up from across the country with bank notes that you had no clue if they were valid or not. I guess imagine going to a restaurant and there is a sign saying they only take bank notes from (JPC, US Bank, Wells Fargo) but you bank with a credit union so they don't even accept your money.

Its relevant because it shows the lengths republicans are willing to go so brazenly. Same with Musk offering bribes. This isn't pessimism based on 2024. Its current actions. And here in NC even though the governor is blue, the AG has been stripped of a lot of powers by the gerrymandered state legislature. Federal elections are impacted by this. That general assembly is the one drawing the map and said NC supreme court supported it. Things don't happen in a vacuum and brazenly stealing a judicial seat with no remotely legitimate argument even though the GOP already have a majority on the bench should be scaring everyone about all elections moving forward.

Whether or not the Republicans on the NC Supreme Court steal a state election is irrelevant. Their authority over *federal* elections in NC can and will be limited by the Fourth Circuit and a Supreme Court whose loyalty to Trump is questionable. Furthermore, the larger the margin of victory, the more drastic the GOP’s attempts of stealing elections are gonna have to be. It is possible, likely even, that it will get to the point where they won’t try to steal anymore for fear of their reputations or safety. Why do I say this? Because another Republican dominated court, the Supreme Court of the United States, already seems to have reached that point. If they hadn’t Moore v. Harper then would have gone the other way. Yet that didn’t happen did it? As an aside, I wouldn’t expect them to intervene in this case because they may believe they have no jurisdiction over a state election. But federal elections are different.

Mentions:#NC

I didn’t mean it should prevent people from voting, but look at N Carolina and the courts ruling there on the NC Supreme Court race? Trump and the DOJ blatantly ignoring the SCOTUS? The US is sliding into a banana republic and that’s part of the reason why the world doesn’t want to invest here.

In the Fifth! appeal he won the right to recount a bunch of votes, meaning those in those (D) districts need to verify their votes. Oh no lol, I certainly don't live there now. I lived in NC ten years ago, just for a short year of studying. Would never live there as the situation is now. I think you've misunderstood what 'voting against your own interests' means. It has nothing to do with approval ratings. All approval ratings are showing at the moment is how the population consumes media. At this point, Fox News is akin to straight up state propaganda, yet it's by far the most popular news source. That's what I mean by brainwashed. But even if you could use approval ratings, it's actually extremely low: https://nymag.com/intelligencer/article/trumps-approval-rating-keeps-getting-worse.html https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/international/us/donald-trump-hits-historic-low-as-new-poll-shows-his-net-approval-rating-worse-than-any-modern-president-in-decades/articleshow/119344880.cms?from=mdr That's worse than any other president at this point into their term in the last 70 years! Far from a majority. In fact, it hasn't been a majority at any point since his inauguration. As with all idiotic things Trump says, everything is a meme until it isn't. Trump supporters kept claiming that tariffs were meant to be a meme. Then it wasn't, yet you applauded it. Then it kinda was, and you applauded that. If he removed all tariffs tomorrow, you would applaud that. Whatever your king does is the right thing to do. Your lot is captured in a cult of personality that you cannot escape. Up is down, down is up. Everything is just as Trump says it is and that's all you need to know. It's incredibly sad, and my guess is that you won't look fondly back at who you were at this point, 10 years from now.

You’ve spent the entire thread calling me dishonest, but here’s what’s actually dishonest: pretending nothing’s happening while the ground is literally shifting under your argument. > “Eli Lilly didn’t invest, just announcements.” They broke ground. The $2B Concord, NC site is built, opened, and shipping by 2025. You’re clinging to timelines like they cancel the outcome — they don’t. https://www.bizjournals.com/charlotte/news/2024/06/14/eli-lilly-concord-medicine-philip-morris-site-open.html https://investor.lilly.com/news-releases/news-release-details/lilly-increases-manufacturing-investment-9-billion-newest > “TSMC and Intel haven’t built anything.” TSMC’s Arizona fab is producing 4nm chips with yields equal to Taiwan. Not a plan. Not a tweet. Production. Intel is slower, but construction’s not fiction. You can see it. https://www.tomshardware.com/tech-industry/semiconductors/tsmcs-arizona-fab-21-is-already-making-4nm-chips-yield-and-quality-reportedly-on-par-with-taiwan-fabs > “Biden doesn’t support tariffs.” Funny how “tariffs don’t work” turns into “but Biden’s are different.” He didn’t repeal Trump’s. He raised them. On EVs. On solar. On steel. So either he’s just as dumb — or the pressure works. https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/biden-raise-tariffs-chinese-evs-2024-05-14/ > “Markets rallied because they hoped Trump reversed.” Markets rallied because they got clarity — a 90-day pause for allies, 125% hit on China. That’s targeted escalation, not retreat. > “There’s no reshoring.” US Steel just credited reshoring in its 2025 earnings call. TSMC is producing. Lilly is hiring. But sure, let’s ignore all that because your Twitter feed says economists are frowning. https://www.ussteel.com/newsroom/-/blogs/united-states-steel-corporation-provides-first-quarter-2025-guidance --- You keep posting opinion pieces warning of collapse, recession, doom — and brushing off any evidence of progress as fake or irrelevant. > Bottom line? You’re arguing to win a comment thread. I’m arguing for a national strategy. You’re fixated on proving Trump wrong. I’m pointing to policies that both parties now support — because they work. At some point it starts sounding less like analysis… and more like you’re disappointed things might actually be working. And now you’re rage-logging out after saying “there’s no point in talking”? Please. You came in swinging like you were going to dismantle reality — and the second it got inconvenient, you tapped out. If you’re done, that’s fine. But don’t pretend you “won” when the receipts are still sitting on the table — and your entire argument just walked itself out the door.

"and has already broken ground at its facility in Concord, NC, and expanded another in Lebanon, Indiana." And here you showcased that you are not reading my links and in fact not even reading your own. That was under Biden, which is exactly what the Cato institute article was calling out. That they are including Biden investments (nothing to do with Trump tariffs) in their announcements to manipulate Trump. "You said “no money, no ground broken.” That’s just false." No, you either lied or are too stupid to read. "TSMC and Intel both have massive U.S. projects in full swing:" Again, announcement and the other link says there is no content there. More lying from you. "“Biden doesn’t support tariffs either.”" Now you are just straight up inventing quotes. Says a lot about how dishonest you are. "Your idea that “tariffs failed” doesn’t even hold up under the party you think agrees with you." That sentence once again makes no sense, please learn to read and think before you write. Tariffs did factually fail based on economic cost and job losses. What I did wrote, is that these tariffs are never going to stay under any democratic presidency because they are deeply unpopular, which Biden's tariffs were not. "Wrong again. Markets rallied because Trump gave clarity" A pause is the opposite of what you claim and it is not clarity. You're once again just deluding yourself about reality. [https://www.reuters.com/world/trumps-latest-tariffs-loom-set-deepen-global-trade-war-2025-04-09/](https://www.reuters.com/world/trumps-latest-tariffs-loom-set-deepen-global-trade-war-2025-04-09/) You post links and apparently don't even read them. This quite literally calls it a reversal. "And you admitted it yourself: “Yeah, this hurts China.” That’s the pressure doing its job." Once again, there is no goal here that is positive in any way. "forced China’s hand" Yeah to further hurt the USA. "and jumpstarted reshoring" Ok, so now you just completely ignore me linking you economists saying that it's going to lead to a recession, lose millions of jobs and you're also blatantly ignoring that the reshoring is not happening as I also shown you. There is no further point talking to someone that just keeps on lying/ignoring facts.

You keep throwing insults while ignoring facts, so let’s fix that. > “No one’s reshoring. Eli Lilly hasn’t done anything.” Wrong. Eli Lilly committed $2.5 billion to expand U.S. manufacturing and has already broken ground in multiple U.S. sites, including Concord, NC. Eli Lilly $50B reshoring plan (Construction Dive) Eli Lilly investment and expansion confirmation You said “no money, no ground broken.” That’s just false. > “Chip fabs aren’t real either.” TSMC and Intel both have massive U.S. projects in full swing: TSMC Arizona Fab updates Intel’s $100B U.S. manufacturing expansion Satellite images. Equipment delivered. Staff hired. That’s not theory — that’s happening. > “Biden doesn’t support tariffs either.” Except… he didn’t repeal them. And in 2024, his admin increased tariffs on EV batteries, solar panels, and Chinese steel: Biden escalates tariffs on Chinese goods (Supply Chain Dive) Your idea that “tariffs failed” doesn’t even hold up under the party you think agrees with you. > “Markets rallied because they hoped Trump reversed.” Wrong again. Markets rallied because Trump gave clarity: 90-day pause for allies, but 125% tariff spike on China. That’s targeted pressure — not retreat. Markets surge after Trump’s announcement (Reuters) > “Mutually harmful = stupid policy.” It’s called strategic cost. Leverage isn’t painless — it shifts risk. And you admitted it yourself: “Yeah, this hurts China.” That’s the pressure doing its job. So you can keep shouting, but at the end of the day, tariffs reshaped policy, forced China’s hand, and jumpstarted reshoring — even under the administration that was supposed to kill them. That’s not a failure. That’s winning.

You asked for proof of companies that took real, physical reshoring action — not just press releases. Fair enough. Here are a few, and they’re not hypothetical: Eli Lilly is investing $25 billion into U.S. manufacturing, with four new plants and over 10,000 high-wage jobs. That’s not a maybe — that’s concrete. J&J announced $55 billion in new U.S. manufacturing, including a major site in NC Ford a nd GM have both reshored engine and vehicle production from Mexico and China. GM moved Caddie SRX and some engine production to Tennessee. Cat brought back manufacturing from Japan to Texas, citing cost and supply chain resilience. I'm pretty sure there are more, but i know these from investments. And yeah, a lot of this is happened under Biden — but let’s not kid ourselves about why. These companies didn’t suddenly get patriotic. They’re reacting to tariff pressure and long-term trade risk — the kind of pressure that started with Trump’s Section 301 tariffs in 2018. Biden didn’t repeal those tariffs. He kept them because even his team knew they’d reshaped the game. You can argue about how targeted they were, but the result is clear: companies are moving, and the rules changed. Trump didn’t hand out policy white papers — he applied force. And now everyone’s reacting to that force. That’s how leverage works.

That is what [the bill (PDF link)](https://www.cantwell.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/04032025_trade_review_act.pdf) would enact, if passed. That bill will need to be voted on my congress, for Trump to either approve or veto. Easy to surmise what his choice would be there. 😅 From there it would return to congress, where it could be made into law with a 2/3 vote—regardless of whether Trump likes it or not. The senators current in support of this bill are, as far as I'm aware: * Chuck Grassley (R-IA) * Maria Cantwell (D-WA) * Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) * Mitch McConnell (R-KY) * Jerry Moran (R-KS) * Thom Tillis (R-NC)

Excerpt of the reply I got back from Thom Tillis, R-NC: > While President Trump has shown that tariffs can serve as effective leverage to secure more advantageous agreements, long-term trade barriers can have detrimental consequences on American families and businesses. [...] I also strongly believe that given the wide range of countries included in this tariff regime, we must distinguish between our longstanding international partners and our nation’s principal adversaries. > The Constitution makes clear that the American people, through their elected officials in Congress, have the ultimate authority over trade policy. I recently cosponsored the Trade Review Act, bipartisan legislation that requires the President to explain the impact and rationale behind tariffs and sunsets new tariffs after 60 days of enactment unless Congress explicitly extends them. **Congress has gradually ceded trade authority over the last 100 years, and it’s past time we reassert that responsibility on behalf of the American people.** Emphasis added is my own. It's a start.

Iv been a dancer for 9 years and yes 💯the clubs are dying/dead. Even during the “slow” season, I never was affected. And now it’s not slow season and more like slower years. This is 2025, April…it’s tax season and the clubs have been EMPTY at least here in NC. 2024 was slower than 2023. It’s very hit or miss. You’re either making $20-$100 a night or you can make $500plus but it’s not the average anymore like it used to be. I am hoping by the summer or fall of 2025 it may be better. When trump got into office in 2017 there was a decline but only for a few months and then it was decent again after that. Along with the money men who provided nice income for us over the last 10-30 years, these are the men who have investments and are probably also nervous to spend right now because of the 2025 economy and then the newer generation, 20-35 year olds don’t make enough money to spend in the strip clubs and also they would rather stay home and use internet means for their entertainment. The strip club is a place for physical conversations, the physical touch and the physical attributes of the dancer experience. I am hoping it’s just a slow and weird time in history because quite frankly it is. Anyway, still a hopeful entertaining hustler.

Highway 40 in AZ, NM, TX, OK, AR has max speed 75MPH, in CA/TN/NC it has max speed 70MPH. Highway 5 in CA has max speed 70 MPH. Highway 15 has max speed 70 or 75MPH (outside of cities). Highway 10 has max speed up to 75MPH. There are many highways with max speed above 65MPH. Even for highway with max speed 65MPH, it's not necessary to be safe when you only drive at 65MPH, while the traffic is at much higher speed. Highway 5 is an example that typical traffic flow drive at at least 75-80MPH, and even trucks could easily drive above 65MPH. Limiting ADAS to drive max 65MPH is never safe in such traffic. And in many cases, you could get ticket for driving below traffic speed, even if that's within max legal speed. FSD (Supervised) has been for ordinary people to use for years, and it's not a robotaxi only system, so comparing it to Waymo is unfair and unnecessary. Robotaxi is just one selling point of FSD, but not all. FSD is also sold to ordinary people to help saving lives and help making driving easier. And the one feature robotaxi of FSD is also not the first and not the top priotized feature of FSD, so you cannot just say, because it's robotaxi feature is not as good as waymo, the whole FSD is not as good as waymo. If you need to compare these 2 ADAS systems, you need to at least compare: 1. Cost to build the system (hardware and software) 2. scenarios that each can drive: specific limited area or any road 3. Max speed it can drive (of course, higher speed requires a more sophisticated system to handle) 4. Safety: inverventions per million miles (I am sure Waymo is better, given it only drives in specific areas that it drive again and again every day, it's like you doing exercises of a textbook again and again, you are guaranteed to score high) 5. Requirement to maintain the system: ADAS that requires high-def maps, would require mo ongoing maintenance of maps. It would have high risk to fail, if the maps are not up tp date

CISO Global Comments on Stock Volatility: No Insider Sales — Market Makers Likely Behind Stock Pressure Mar. 21, 2025 9:15 AM ETCISO Global Inc. (CISO) Scottsdale, Ariz., March 21, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CISO Global, Inc. (NASDAQ: CISO), an industry leader in AI-powered cybersecurity software, managed cybersecurity, and compliance, confirms that the recent volatility in its stock is not due to insider selling. The Company has confirmed that no Executive or Board Member has sold stock during this week’s abnormal volatility. Additionally, the Company has not utilized the ATM facility in 2025. Despite a series of positive announcements, including the relationship with Microsoft and AWS, the launch of the Company’s EDGE security platform, and deployment of its Skanda analysis tool, the Company’s shares have suffered under sharp selling pressure this week. The belief is that the price decline is due to market makers engaging in manipulative trading practices, including naked short selling—where shares are sold without being located or even owned. This can create artificial supply, distorting market pricing and misleading investors, especially given that the company is so closely held and has a limited float. “Our leadership, board, and key stakeholders are steadfast in our commitment to CISO’s future” said CEO & Chairman David Jemmett. “We trust that the true value of our Company will be allowed to be reflected in the market, as we continue to drive long-term growth, innovation, and shareholder value”. The Company has previously spoken to State and Federal regulators to alert them of observed trading anomalies and activity. About CISO Global, Inc.
