Well if you have SIRI and are renewing your subscription, you can negotiate with their operator - they initially offered a $12 month subscription and I said no - they eventually renewed it below $7 my current payment.
My theory based on a couple observations is that for the same reason he doesn’t like gold (it doesn’t spin off income….there are some YouTube clips with this quote) he likes investments that produce a lot of cash. And therefore he likes to receive that cash. SIRI is an example. Besides wanting solid businesses and good value, BRK favors income.

okay, serious advice with no skill floor? - Buy smaller amounts. You probably go all-in, or at least slam more than your originally think into most trades. Reduce the size of your trades to both reduce your risk and to leave room to DCA or double down. The goal is to get better at picking winners and exit points, not to 'make money'. - Hedge. Hedging is important, and you wont ever hear about it here. Start trying to picture scenarios in which your trade goes bad, and what stock/sector/basket/etf would go up if your trade goes down. Then buy some. - Paper Trade. Fuck the haters, if you want to learn how to get better entries and exits and trade options running practice runs is how. Dont scalp with it, because a lot of times its not live prices, but maybe every day look at it and make adjustments. - Dont use margin because you have it. Margin/leverage is _interest loans_ you have to pay those back. - Dont follow anyone's advice blindly. At least do a google AI search about it first. AI is an amazing helper, and it have undoubtedly made me a better trader. - Dont trade without a plan. You should know how much youre willing to lose at most on each trade, and have a stop set up. Stops work best for high volume stocks like apple where they typically dont see huge fluctuations. - - Contrast that to BJ or SIRI, where the volume is much lower, spreads are higher, and the price can move much faster. Its harder to use stops in that case because you could get a much worse price for it.

Forever ago I had a bunch of shares in SIRI, they paid out a dividend, I decided to throw the free money at a penny stock because whythehellnot and found a company VNGM, they were prospecting for uranium in Canada. Figured if they find anything it's a decent payout if not I get to write the surprise dividend loss off on my taxes. About a year later the roughly 1.2k I put in was worth 2k, I owed about 2k left on my car, I sold, I forgot to click "all or nothing" so I had like 35 shares left in my account, it would cost more to sell them. THE NEXT GODDAMND WEEKEND I check my balance and I go "huh, what shot up a few hundred bucks?" If I had those shares it was 850k, if I caught the peak it was 1.2mil. The company leased there land to grow pot on for medical marijuana *This was way before Canada fully legalized. I now sell nothing without already getting returns I am happy with. I have been diamond handsing way longer then anyone over at WSB.

My SOFI, RDDT, CRCL, LIFE tanked. Sold some SBUX and all of my SIRI that were pumping during the day to load up on those. Picked up a little more GOOG. Back to even for today...whew! Let's not talk about week to date.
SYM puts, MTSI calls are my favorites, but I am presently only about 48% accurate. SIRI and PTC puts also seem attractive, but their PE is already low... though that was the case with PYPL too. AMSC calls maybe, stock is beaten down, so a possitive surprise is not priced in. A miss it probably won't fall much more, but a beat and it could pop nice. Keeping in mind my intent is not accuracy as much as catching big moves. Using delta 25 strikes, risk is low relative to profits for a big move.

Refused to invest in tech is a stretch.. They hold AAPL, MSFT, INTC, GOOGL, AMZN, and SIRI. Apple is the bulk of it so the others are individually all less than 2% but clearly that is not refusing.

OP I'll keep this brief because it's an old thread and only you will see it. It's a new business model, they will own podcasts and get revenue through the ads that you cannot skip during the podcast. Those podcasts will play through multiple streaming services Spotify YouTube etc it won't matter they own the rights. Multiple institutions are building positions right now on SIRI. Buy
I think AAPL will continue to fall, however I'm not sure if it will hit $200., What I can't understand is why AAPL can't get the AI thing right. They keep promising to release then nothing. AAPL investors have been waiting for 16 months. I mean literally there are multiple companies that have figured out AI assistants since ChatGPT was released. Grok, Perplexity, Gemini, etc. I actually think SIRI has gotten worse over the last 12 months. Plus, I'm not interested in a foldable phone and think it will be a dud just like the Vision Pro. I'm a long time holder/investor of AAPL.

I own some and know almost nothing about them. I thought the guy who invented SIRI was the CEO or something.
It first started as a liberty media share arbitrage, but they raised their stake i presume for a few reasons. First, Sirius has meaningful Price to FCF ratio of approx. 6.3 That amount of cash flow for such a low valuation is pretty extraordinary. On top of that SiriusXM is buying back a meaningful amount of shares. This along with the dividend present a pretty strong ROE case for a large shareholder such as Berkshire. Im also guessing that they believe that even with fairly modest subscriber losses, the earnings and free cash flow story wont be meaningfully effected enough for it to matter. I also think that SIRI is making some pretty big moves in investing in content to refurbish its service for newer customers. Whether that works or not, time will tell. 2026 will be a consequential year for SIRI whether their strategy works out or not.
That's a possibility. Another is that the product is just as crappy as SIRI. Apple probably knows why it keeps a healthy distance from it.

Way back in the day before retail became popular and people still used the newspaper to get their ticker info I supervised and ran a banquet department at a private club. I recall that many of the senior servers had brokerage accounts. Had to have a minimum of 5k to start. Never had enough to open an account. I recall that Microsoft had like 3 splits and Starbucks was just listed as an IPO. If I only had enough to open an account! A few years passed and In 2005 I took out a heloc and and said wtf might as well. I opened a share builder account which was one of the first online options . Paid like 79.99 for a Motley fool subscription and bought AKAM EBAY SIRI and a company called a NFLX which at the time was still selling movies and another company selling books called AMZN. 120 dollars of each. Shit happened lost the house in 2008 to foreclosure and basically forgot about the account. A few years go by and as I was watching a midnight showing of XMen and overheard a conversation in the row in front of mentioning something about “like buying Netflix at $10 share”. Wait a sec I have that! Sharebuilder got bought by E*trade and my fractional shares became full shares. 82 shares of NFLX @ 1.56 and 4 shares of AMZN @ 30 each. They are still in my account along with 10 shares of NVDA in 2016 because I liked their video cards which now has a cost basis of 2.28 share. NFLX is up 77000% NVDA up 7000% and AMZN up 2200%. Time in the market beats timing the market and buy and hodl. Just my two cents.

I think, regardless of government applications, this technology has endless usefulness that people might not immediately consider.
