Tomorrow? Let's see, with 200% tariffs incoming on pharmaceuticals imports, I'm buying puts on *TEVA* and *VTRS* Then buying EOW calls on *FICO* cuz it was oversold today and it'll recover 5% by Friday.  And buying calls on *FIGS* now in anticipation of all the true regards that'll accidentally buy that ticker instead of the Figma IPO in a few months.  Oh, and prob sell my SPY puts by the end of the day. But only after 🥭 posts all his bigly, super cereal tariff letters

I had 1600 shares of PFE when it dropped like a rock. Now I have 2600 shares having lowered my basis when it was trading in the $25 range. But I like drug stocks and also hold ABBV, AZN, GSK, MRK, OGN, VTRS and a risky MRKR. I'm retired and like the steady income that drug stocks provide. i don't worry about the price fluctuations as I won't need to sell any of them. I get about $40k a year in dividends which is much more than I need to draw each year to live comfortably.

Earnings coming up on the 30th. Layoffs are probably (possibly) done. As long as the numbers are to wall streets liking I think you are correct. COVID is still a thing, tho it will be up to the consumer to pay- not the Got’t. MRNA had a big write off due to COVID vax weakness. VTRS is the Pfizer ‘consumer products’ spin off. They carry a lot of debt, but have perked up a lot now that interest rate easing is in the wind. Low P/E and a good dividend. Full disclosure- I own all 3. VTRS has treated me the best. I got my shit pushed in with MRNA, but hold them as a great takeover candidate, and basically a strong bio pharmaceutical contender. Long term I’m still happy with PFE. No new money for them tho. More VTRS in my future

I find a screener is a good start but I want to do a bit more in-depth so I plug them into a spreadsheet. Just works for me. Do you have thresholds you suggest on the metrics? I'm happy to hear what you/others generally go by. Definitely want to avoid value traps. When I screen stocks I generally try to go for the highest market cap I can which is usually $10-30B, so big mid-cap/small large-cap. I've found DINO which I'm up 13% on, VTRS (owns a bunch of brands - Viagra, Xanax, Lipitor - yes I'm a bad person), NTR (Canadian fertilizer company - Largest potash and 3rd largest nitrogen fertilizer producer in the world), KT (2nd largest South Korean telecom company I think - so reasonably large companies. I try to avoid the value traps that way. We'll see how that turns out...

Idk what percentage of each company's sales are sildenafil, but it can't be much, and it's certainly not going to impact PFE, which is like a 200bn company. How many blockbusters do they need to increase share price? A lot. They're pretty much a bond to me and I have them in low $30s. I'm adding because I think they'll use their cash wisely or at least they have more than others. For these mega cap pharmas, it's all about acquisition and maybe a lucky break. I think that VTRS will only be a good stock with major margin efficiency, there's no growth in generics without major policy change, which the US and rest of the world really isn't going to do anytime soon.

I think VTRS is under valued, but I could be wrong. It’s on my watchlist. CVS is undervalued after buying up Signify Health. Theres so much intrinsic value there, I think it will push revenues way higher and CVS has the cash flow to grow it even faster than Signify did. DVN may be a good oil play at this price. A, BRKR, and DHR are all steady growers and look good at these prices.

I bought CG when its earnings disappointed the street and have already made 14% in 4 days. But it was on my watch list. I bought it several years ago and sold it in 2021 when it was getting a bit too lofty for me. I also traded VTRS, sold 4000 shares when it hit $11.40 and bought it back at $10.90. I never stopped buying but I don't buy on up days. I get a bit over $2k a month in dividends and constantly plug it back into the market.

This analysis is based on the current option open interest. With that option open interest, it calculates portfolio-level greeks--notably Delta and Gamma. More importantly, once the portfolio level greeks are established, I can now simulate the change in greeks at different price points. From there, I can find the price levels where portfolio-level gamma is the highest, and the portfolio-level delta is close to 0. For some tickers, the underlying price reacts strongly off of delta neutral, gamma max, and sometimes both. It's the reaction off of these price levels in the past that is being used to drive trading signals. The plays and target entry prices given are calculated using a binomial option pricing model that reflect the expected size and duration of the reaction from gamma max or delta neutral. A lot of these plays are profitable by underlying moves in stock. The best plays benefit from the directional move as well as the increase in IV. # Notes * If the price has moved past the entry price, exercise caution. Someone knows something that I don't know. * Look to sell half your position on a double, and freeroll the rest to exit at your discretion. * I tend to risk up to 1% of my total capital on any trades I take. If my conviction is lower, I'll only allocate 0.5% or even 0.25% of my capital to the trade, and dollar cost average in. # FAQ * These plays are mostly puts. Are you a gay bear? * No. It so happens that the companies have had some recent run-up which implies they are overextended. These trades are primarily some form of mean-reversion either toward or away from an important price level. * Are you entering all these plays? * No. There have been a dearth of plays in the WSB morning talks, and so I opened up my bag of tools slightly wider to point out more plays with a probable edge to help lead apes to more gain porn. People are gonna want to see money this will generate more revenue making it more appealing to invest in because they will be able to pay a higher percentage dividend; but I don’t think I’m wrong about the Covid pill I really think it will be an over the counter purchase… anyway there is a lot of weird shit media coverage that surrounds these two… I digress VTRS gets a big piece of the pie in the deal for insulin injectable; US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the European Union and European free trade associated countries… that’s big money the way I see it, Biocon gets rights to Japan and emerging markets… Biocon got shafted in the deal seems to me, to add more salt to the wound VTRS and Biocon have co exclusive commercialization rights in the rest of the world… big oof… But I won’t back down my original thesis about the Covid Pill.

CEO interview in Barron's: 17/11/2021 Barron’s : Investors have yet to warm to Viatris, created a year ago this week by the merger between a Pfizer spinoff and the generic drugmaker Mylan, but its CEO says that the company is doing well and offers investors an extraordinarily broad range of products. "The thing that´s distinct from many companies out there is the portfolio," said Viatris (ticker: VTRS) CEO Michael Goettler, who previously ran the Pfizer (PFE) division known as Upjohn. That business, which specialized in selling off-patent drugs in overseas markets, completed its combination with Mylan in November 2020. Viatris has an extraordinarily broad portfolio, encompassing Mylan´s generics business, branded products from Upjohn like Xanax and Viagra, biosimilars, a number of over-the-counter products, and an active pharmaceutical ingredients business that sells chemicals used in drug manufacturing. "It makes for a much more robust business," Goettler told Barron´s. "Any kinds of hits and headwinds we´re getting in one region or from one particular product, we have ways to compensate for that." "No individual product is more than 10% of revenue," he said. "We found a business model that´s unique, it´s a new kind of healthcare company." Goettler pointed to the company’s performance over the past three quarters, in each of which its sales and earnings have beaten Wall Street estimates. "I think we´re performing very well," he said. Investors aren´t yet convinced. Viatris shares closed at $15.86 on Nov. 16 last year, the day of the launch of the combined company. The stock closed at $13.88 on Tuesday, down 12.5% over that period, while the S&P 500 was up 29.6%. Viatris shares are down 25.8% so far this year. Analysts are lukewarm on the stock: Eight of the 17 tracked by FactSet who cover Viatris rate it a Buy or Overweight, while nine rate it at Hold. Their average target price is $19.08, implying a 38.2% return on the stock´s recent price of $13.80. In recent notes, analysts have flagged questions about how the earnings of the combined company will shake out over the long term. "Looking ahead, we continue to struggle with longer-term EBITDA visibility (or namely lack thereof)," wrote Piper Sandler analyst David Amsellem in a note out Nov. 8. "Put another way, we question the extent to which growing contribution from complex generics/biosimilars/legacy Mylan assets across a range of geographies over time can offset pressure on legacy Upjohn brands ...such that EBITDA can be sustainable." In other words, how the Viatris puzzle fits together is still hazy. Viatris is hoping to clear up the confusion at an investor day scheduled for Jan. 7. Management plans to lay out its financial forecasts for 2022, and set targets for 2023. "We´re going to talk about our pipeline; I think our pipeline is going to be one of the most underappreciated assets that we have, the organic (growth) opportunities that provides," Goettler said. That pipeline includes biosimilars, which are the equivalent of generics for more complex biologic drugs, but also includes complex generics, and new chemical entities. "We see a future where we move up the value chain, and go into things like 505(b)(2)´s," Goettler said, referring to drugs given the go-ahead under a section of federal law that allow for the approval of new drugs based on studies run by other companies. In the short term, Goettler said that the company has been focusing on paying down debt and initiating a dividend. It has paid down $9 billion of debt in the first three quarters, Goettler said. Viatris announced dividends of 11 cents per share in the second and third quarters.

Really neat. I'm in Spin-offs are often neglected like this. VNT is a recent-ish spin-off of Fortive and is similarly stupid cheap despite projected growth. VTRS is a big pharma company spun off of MRK with same story. Eventually, market fixes valuation imbalance. Assymetric r/r profile

Losers for 2021 were/are: CLOV, RKLB, VTRS, COIN, BABA. Percentage-wise is embarrassing, but I didn't put all too much in -- just a bunch of stupid tests to see if the 🤡 were onto something or not. And for a day they were, but 2 days later, not so much, eh? (Everything else has been a winner this year, even SBUX .)

Honestly? Buy 100 shares of VTRS and hold it your entire life. No joke it's legit a great value stock. But if you must do options... Still buy the 100 shares, but sell the 10 dollar call for January and buy 14 17.5 calls.

I'm long (\~20 years) PFE, JNJ and (now) VTRS. With PFE, they have a lot of drugs in the market and with JNJ you have the whole non-pharm aspects of their company.

Yahoo Finance is notoriously inaccurate especially during the trading day. When VTRS first paid a dividend Yahoo listed it as $.11 per year, it still shows that amount. I watch about 40 stocks and often when a stock is trending upward Yahoo is way behind. When PFE hit $51 and change during the day, the daily chart showed the current high as $49something. And their ex-dividend dates are almost always off by a day, where accuracy is important. I still use it because I like the format and it is free but I know to double check any numbers that really matter.

I can't see the future, but I can guarantee that the older generations, which have amassed the largest personal wealth in history, will spend their money struggling to find care as they age and will spend everyone trying to live longer. I work in healthcare, I see this all of the time. I'm long healthcare everything. It's also my view as well that covid is going to lead to massive burnout and attrition of healthcare providers and staff. I'm super long on telehealth everything, home care, healthcare REITs, biotech, med tech. We also don't have nearly enough housing for the elderly and they'll get care at home, so I'm long LHCG and ADUS for home health and hospice. I'm long home monitoring, which is also TDOC. The population is aging and the younger are getting less healthy than before. If you want to tie this into covid specifically, look at long term care hospitals like SEM, HCA even. Look at pharma that makes blood thinners for those blood clots, like PFE and BMY, biosimilars like VTRS. PFE and BMY get way more revenue than just blood thinners, but that's how I think about it from covid.

Thanks; retiree who researches ( and happy to share my ideas) some of these undervalued stocks which I hope will go up ,sooner or later , in this overvalued market . Review my suggestions (since I joined reddit in Jan and follow me if you choose to): ABEV, CRNT,VTRS,LUMN,WTER,XSPA,others...may be you can may a few bucks like me to supplement my retiree income, in what I see as a very inflationary next 4 years. My latest pick (yet to be posted )is AMRX

Depending on valuation, on the IPO day your GNW lot will decrease, and an ACT lot at the appropriate ratio will suddenly appear, and they will be treated as two separate companies from there out. You may get some cash in lieu of fractional shares after the math is done. I’m with ML and if this happened to me, ACT shares in my history would have the same purchase dates as GNW, but the cost basis would be adjusted (pro-rated?). Last time this happened to me was PFE and VTRS.

I'll be honest and admit I don't know about AbbVie's pipeline, but when their Humira patent runs out, earnings could fall off a cliff and I'm nervous about that. AbbVie is a great company and Humira is an absolute miracle drug, I really like them, but I think that is a really risky stock at these levels. I actually bought some VTRS when it drilled to the 13 range because they are gearing up a rollout of adalimumab (generic Humira). VTRS is a big gamble on generics, but they will have so much scale I think they can be a pretty formidable player.

Hey! Thank you for commenting. It has been an incredible ride the past couple of weeks, and the LEAPS mentioned is now 67% up. I recently purchased two more contracts. Because VTRS is the main building block of my long-term strategy, I plan to buy more and more for next year slowly. 200 SMA/EMA is not the most useful factor to decide the movement of VTRS because it's a very young company. If you are interested in buying, I would buy when RSI is below 70 (it has been hot for several days). Also, the dividend record date is 05/24/2021, so that's also a good day to buy. Hope it helps!

Hey man! Thank you for commenting. VTRS is a merger of Pfizer's Upjohn spinoff (Viagra) and Mylan (generic drugmaker). The merger is now complete successfully, and the company has started generating revenue, which is extremely impressive for a newly formed company during the pandemic. It will also begin to providing dividends soon (I believe around 44 cents yearly, which is around 3%). I am not selling VTRS, probably ever. I am currently executing a very long investment plan, and VTRS is the main part of it. It most likely will follow the footstep of ABBV (another pharma spinoff) and continue its steady growth for the next several decades. I seriously stand by what I said in my post: buying VTRS now is like buying Coca-Cola 30 years ago.
