>Are you in any way qualified (as a scientist working on brain-computer interfaces) to talk about this or is this just “yeah maybe”? I don't need to be a scientist in this field in order to know that brain-computer interfaces are way too early to project a fully digital VR world including real feelings into my head and use my thoughts to move a digital version of myself. For me it is just logic: You simply don't have the flexibility without such an interface and it is actually never complete. Just look what you have to put on to have something like a *complete* experience of the virtual world: A suit which projects forces and temperature on your skin while extracting the exact activation of your muscles to project your movement onto your avatar, special shoes and a device for fixing your position while you can run, damn physical controllers, a VR headset. In order to have a full experience you have to put on so many things in your room and on your body that it is just logical to say that this kind of interaction with VR is nowhere near interesting for the masses. No professorship in computer-brain interface needed for that conclusion. >Otherwise, this is not the point. Even if you project it into my brain, I don’t want to have ads projected into my brain. Why are you limiting VR to ads? This doesn't make any sense. Yeah, there will be ads in the metaverse but I don't see why this should be the only thing. Being able to live and *feel* in a completely different world (which is only possible with the brain-computer interface (BCI) I have mentioned) will be the key for the metaverse to thrive. You could sit in a virtual rollercoaster with all feelings (if you have the BCI ...) or live a completely different life in computer games. Working could be possible, too (with a comfy BCI, of course). >I don’t -want- to “decorate my room in digital sculptures” I am sure that the flexibility of this kind of decoration will be a game changer for many people and reason enough to use it. Why hammering a nail into your wall when you can just project a painting of arbitrary size onto it? There are significant advantages for this kind of application. >if I wanted to, I would just copy them and put them up. Unlike in physical art, a bitwise copy IS possible. A jpeg isn’t more valuable just because a copy of it belonged to Bono at one point. That is also the difference and why NFT art is worthless in the end. I don’t care if I have the “original” if there is no original. *You* don't care about it. The best example for why it is just the same as with physical art is the following: The painting "Salvator Mundi" has been sold as a painting by Leonardo Da Vinci. However, this is actually unknown and there is the possibility that the painting is by Leonardo Da Vinci and his assistants/students. Even though it would have been made from the same materials and in the same time range with the same style like Leonardo Da Vinci it would be an extreme difference for the valuation. In the world of art it *is* about the actual creator and the originality of the artwork. For this reason even a 500 years old perfect replica of a Mona Lisa would be worth much less than the original.

> Could the code of Bitcoin be changed to change to Proof of Stake is what I’m ultimately asking. Yes, you could fork Bitcoin while keeping Nakamoto Consensus but changing Sybil resistance to PoS. OBTC, BTCS, and BCI are all PoS BTC hard forks.

30+ years? Hardly. Anyone that's used a decent PCVR setup can attest that we're far closer than most people would think. 30 years ago we were rocking SNES and Sega CD, compare that with today's games and gaming hardware. Things like haptic feedback suits and VR treadmills already exist, albeit expensive and cumbersome. Even BCI's (brain-computer interface) are already in their infancy. Provided enough interest, VR has huge potential to grow, and rapidly. Trouble is... Not everyone wants to strap on a headset and controllers just to jump into a game. But, with smaller, lighter displays being made, and hand tracking improvements showing promise, even those hurdles will likely be overcome shortly.

I would hodl Bitpanda's BCI25. It's an Index composed of the top 25 crypto assets. To tell you the truth I only DCA into BTC and BCI25, and if I could only choose one, although I DCA more into BTC as of now, I would pick the later, it's a diversified enough porfolio itself and I will trend up with the market.

The Metaverse is more than gaming and crypto. The next phase of the internet, with places you go to instead of websites. Also VR is the first step, after it will be AR, after that BCI.

Have you considered buying into a crypto index fund like those on Bitpanda.com? Thats how I play it safer with Alts as Bitpanda rebalance the portfolio every month to drop poorly performing coins and add in the rising ones, and I dont have to worry about doing my own research into every coin. For the record, BCI5 (top 5 coins) has gone up 527% in the last year, BCI10 (top 10) has gone up 623%, and BCI25 (top 25) has gone up 647%. Just by paying into the index fund I'm automatically picking up coins like BTC, ETH, ADA, SOL, DOGE etc as they've hit the top 25, top 10 or top 5.

Not to be a debby downer, but some exchanges already offer crypto Indizes. I.e. Bitpanda offers the BCI( Bitpanda Crypto Index) 5, BCI 10 and the BCI 25, to directly invest in the top 5, 10 or 25 cryptos.

A brain-computer interface (BCI) is a computer-based system that acquires brain signals, analyzes them, and translates them into commands that are relayed to an output device to carry out a desired action. In principle, any type of brain signal could be used to control a BCI system.

You should get blockpit pro then, because the free version only has limited transactions and BCI usually uses those up in a single month. At least if you're austrian (like bitpanda and blockpit), that's the legal situation in Austria right now. Even worse if you buy stocks there though, because they aren't "stocks" but instead crypto-certificates that are backed by stocks, so the tax-situation is an entirely different one. I hodl my coins there too, but from a tax-perspective the site is horrible... Tax-Trap after tax-trap.

No problem, I have Blockpit for taxes and nothing tax relevant showing up there in the report since half a year, but of course I always have an eye on that. Besides that the performance of the BCI25 is outstanding!

Well, agree to disagree I think. People able to do extraordinary things will attract investment and, yes, billions of dollars. You can take them away and people will still give him money, because we can't do what he does. I'd love for humanity to reach Mars, I'd love to see a functioning BCI in my lifetime, and I think it's great that EVs are a reality and solar is growing fast. I for sure would love if nobody had to worry about a roof, food, education or healthcare, but that's a government issue, not Musk's. A LOT of people can help solve those issues, there's not a lot of people able to build the things his companies do. People like to hate on any too exposed personality, and he certainly puts himself out there, but if you think he is the problem I'd call YOU delusional. Or are you saying he should turn down investments and try to reach Mars on a budget? Or revolutionize the car industry with his own bank account? I get the ridiculousness of wealth distribution, but I can't think of a person who is making a better use of his billions.
