Yes they have, yes the Chinese are technically committing a crime when buying bitcoin and have been using proxies and p2p services (don't lose sight of why we are here to begin with)... and yes they were the biggest miners until for some crazy reason they banned mining. This caused a major crash and cost me 10s of thousands. I was heavily invested in BTCST at the time. Ffs!!!
Why did they ban the mining then? That really fucked me up. I had a lot of BTCST in a pool was making 500+% 1000s for some pools there and then it went to shit in a day.
I agree with this and faultyvulcan. That China banning mining really fucked up my BTCST holdings and staking. Had a market correction just before then and a couple of my leveraged positions liquidated in secs. I had 54 in their mining pool and rewards were very good, over a %1000 for some things, I was just getting it on sale and building up, was gonna get another 10 BTCST and add that to the pool and them boom. Worth nothing, down to about $10 from 60+ then just kept dropping from there. Their Dapp isn't active and mining now but its still a traded token, not sure why.

Nah, it is just natural evolution of things. It is expected that the more mainstream crypto becomes the more we will hear about these things. First Mt. Gox, then BTCST, silk road, bitistant, mycoin, bitfinex hack, nice hash hack, WASSA WASSA bitconnect, bitstamp, the dao, ronin bridge, celsius, voyager and without even tipping our toes into all the controversy about mining, asic, malicious forks, majority hashrate and so on. The more one thing is used the more interest there is and the more shit happens. Look at the dollar over the last century and you’ll see a correlation between the quantity, the distribution and the availability with the number of scams and scandals. You can easily see this with software, the more an operating system is used and the more it gets attacked and exploited. This is not to scare off people from crypto, it is a cautious warning about what lay ahead of us, which is a bunch of much more terrible scandals, scams and cut-throating.
Some of the alts on my PF, like BTCST, Wing, and Fil, have had a good uptick. sold already. If it retraces back, I'm just going to buy it back. They are not my long-term pick. I prefer to stake majority of my long-term bets on freeways for a rewarding APY.
I think the best place to get the best suggestions is here on reddit. I got to know about a lot of coins here, including SOL and ADA when they were cheap and the likes of PLUG, KP3R, BTCST, and many more that I've profited from.

There does seem to be a correlation between BTC price and BTCST price, however it would be foolish to assume that this is the only relevant factor. BTCST represents hashing power on the Bitcoin network, namely mining revenue paid in BTCB. This means that a higher BTC price results in a higher monetary value of these BTCB payout. However, if the BTC network hashrate increases overall (which it tends to do, over time, especially with higher BTC prices), this will reduce rewards as mining becomes more competitive. BTC halving events also reduce rewards. All this aside, the number one factor when assessing the value of a rewards token is sentiment regarding the trustworthiness of the project.

Been staking BTCST for a little while now and they have insane APRs which depreciate each week till they then start mining a new synthetic token and the APRs are massive again. Currently it's mining tDoge, before that it was tBTC.

Look up pancakeswap and look at these 3 farms: BTCB-BTCST, BTCB-PBTC , BTCB-BDIGG. It's like staking 2 coins pegged to the price of bitcoin while getting 80-500% APY.
I been technically staking btc at 500% APY on pancakeswap. The tricks is to yield farm BTCB and a coin that is somewhat pegged to btc, like PBTC, BDIGG or BTCST.

I'm starting to get into DEFI abit more there are some crazy yeilds out there if you look my best one atm is BTCST on the Binance chain staking it and earning 400% apy payed in TBTC its crazy getting hundreds of dollars a day. Might do some research into liquidity providing next i feel we have plenty of time left this bullrun as it gets closer to overvalued ill probably stick with trading /holding but thats ages away imo.
