When this Govt eventually sanctions you personally as it has done so many of us or deflates your dollars making them worthless you'll get it. For things you never did or that they don't like, they can arrest you and your ability to transact in DOLLARS. They will seize your money if they want, they do it to countries, innocent leaders, honest businesses and citizens just for trying to see their kids.....they do it every offing day. Do you not see this? The situation has flipped. You either still trust that your dollars are safe or you've seen how it's much less valuable, untraceable and therefore impossible and unsafe to invest in dollars. And to the argument when folks say what will you cash your bitcoins in for if you don't trust cash?? My answer is anything I want. If the dollar does go all the way down in a hyper inflationary event......other nations will RUSH in to buy up the non deflationary good as gold bitcoin. Bitcoin goes thru the roof when dollar dumps. The ability to exchange Bitcoin with any currency shows its true value during any event of any currency or dollar crash. 500k high end of year is my guess. 250k low end isn't a bad proposition for 2024. Do you really want to invest in these old school "normal" centralized dollar products created to make them rich? They forced my hand. Don't wait for them to do it to you.
If you have a steady, stable income and the cost to finance said debt is low, I see no issue with paying minimums and investing. It all depends on the cost to service. Mortgages at 3% are an example of debt I wouldn’t RUSH to pay off. Pay the minimum for as long as possible. High interest CC debt? Get rid of that ASAP.
Yup, I agree… this is why I personally tunned out from “simply bitcoin” channel. They turned into priced obsessed moon boys, like a different flavor of the trader bros mindset. Not seeing it as an asset is the FIRST STEP to stay cautious, when you are serious about your investment. If you insist SEEING IT AS AN ASSET RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING, then at least give equal respect just like how you would with the real world ASSET. From personal experience some additions: Be sure to transfer to an address where you have the passphrase and so on. I know, everyone is telling this every time. But... DON'T TRANSFER IN A RUSH! In my case, I had to transfer due to a scam site. Took it to Kraken, then to a second passphrase. As I was transfering to the second passphrase, I realized that I had an additional 25th word for it (Ledger X). I cut it short now...I realized that the Ledger was synced to the passphrase WITHOUT recovery phrase. So I added the recovery phrase...which creates a new account and not restore the original one. In short, I lost 'just' 2K in investment, but at the time of my fuck up it was worth 24k. Took me months to accept and move on. So yeah, double check addresses, check if you have a backup for the address you're transfering to.
It's a healthy outlook on the situation, but it is extremely hard to stop, even more so to do it before you turn yourself into a neurotic shell of a human. But man, the RUSH. It gets to you.
