He said safest exchange… not safest way to store BTC… the fact is most people won’t use a hardware wallet. Just the BTC purist/BTC survivalist types. IMO if you’re going to use an exchange, use Coinbase. They’re publicly traded and beholden to the SCC. Not saying it means much, but it’s the safest

I suppose you think Robin Hood is better? Honestly if you’re going to use an exchange CB is the best. They’re less likely to do any weird shit being a public company. Got the SCC to deal with. I’m a die hard cold storage guy, but CB is the best exchange option.

Supply and demand, if a thousand people want ShitCurrencyCoin (SCC) and there are 500 coins in total and they all want a whole coin it will get a high value. If then 1.000 more coins is printed the value will drop significantly and the demand on coin will be fullfilled with more coins in circulation that no one wants. This is why fiat money always inflate, the normal "steady" is that it looses 7% value each year. Its a model where a rich elite have the power over the money printer and they are a rich elite that wants to stay rich. Your job is just to not learn about money but get a job, work hard for the money and shut up. So when you hear that money printer goes "BRRRRR!" then you know that more dollar flow into existance and that will affect everyone holding that asset. Supply is increasing and demand is the same. The fiat system will increase supply digitally everytime someone goes to the bank and issue a loan. But money that actually get printed is much less, most money dont even exists its just magic numbers backed by nothingness. With bitcoin the issuance of new money can be predicted a hundred years in advance, but in fiat you have no clue about next week. So if you value the value of something it needs demand and scarcity. Fiat aint scarce at all and gets madly printed more and more, and since the demand isn't increasing at the same rate it do become more and more worthless. TLDR; Supply and demand.

Wrong again. You're confusing the US bankruptcy court's definition of "bankruptcy" for an entire corporate entity that files for Chapter 11, versus the de facto bankruptcy process that can occur for one division within a non-bankrupt parent company. So for example, Silvergate Bank's parent (Silvergate Capital Corp), obviously deemed Silvergate to be bankrupt (by their internal criteria), which is the reason SCC shut down Silvergate and liquidated its assets in March. Still false: "Most U.S. Banks Are Near Insolvency" Still true: No one in this thread said that "collapsed banks are solvent".

Securities lawyer here. Everyone knew this was coming. Gensler has made it clear that he wants the exchanges trading in bitcoin to register with the SEC. Until then, he and his agency are holding GBTC hostage, since it is the largest institutional holder of bitcoin. GBTC is one of the few bargaining chips the SEC has. Of course it’s highly unethical to hold GBTC and its shareholders hostage, but that is the US government these days, the SEC included. My guesstimate is that GBTC will continue to collect its outrageous 2% fee, and slow-roll the litigation, which will likely take four years or so to work out. After that lengthy period of time, the litigation will settle (or appeals will be exhausted) and GBTC will likely convert to an ETF. At that point, its shares will no longer sell at a substantial discount. Despite this grim and cynical (but realistic) guesstimation, I am buying more GBTC tomorrow. It is still a deal, and there’s no way in hell that GBTC’s bitcoin can remain locked up forever. And even with the outrageous 2% fee, the discount is so deep that it would take about a decade or more for the 2% fee to eat the 20%+ discount that currently exists. It is an arbitrage opportunity for me, born out of the greed of GBTC (the 2% fee) and the willingness of the SCC to hold GBTC hostage corruptly.

I would love to believe that were so, but the SCC will not want to be seen as doing a 180 reversal. This will take a long time to resolve. My prediction is that the ETF is denied once again in July, because nothing has changed on GBTC’s end. Any lawsuit will take yours to resolve. However, in the end, I believe ATF will be allowed in the discount will close, making current purchases a bargain. I just put in limit orders to buy a lot more today…

There are literally no studies that prove this - Last LA homeless count found [something like 87%](https://www.lahsa.org/documents?id=3437-2019-greater-los-angeles-homeless-count-presentation.pdf) of the folks had been last housed in CA and had been living in the state on average 1+ years - 75% had been in CA 5-10+ years. [Politifact](https://www.politifact.com/article/2018/jun/28/dispelling-myths-about-californias-homeless/) has a great article on it. The Bay Area's stats are [pretty much in line](https://osh.sccgov.org/sites/g/files/exjcpb671/files/2019%20SCC%20Homeless%20Census%20and%20Survey%20Report.pdf) with LA (\~75% of folks have lived here 1+ years & \~69% 5+y) - The only thing you're finding is that homeless \*within\* CA are ending up in counties like Santa Clara at a disproportionately higher rate due to the level of service provided. That's an old argument for people who want a straw man to distract from the incredible amount of damage prop 13 has done to the state.

I can't find any reference to that case in the SCC database so will have to take your word for it. But whether or not the right to peaceful assembly extends to public streets is not being debated in this thread. Section 430 (1) (d) specifically states it to be an offence to obstruct, interrupt or interfere with any person in the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property. Section 423 (1) (g) states it to be an offence for anyone who, for the purpose of compelling another person to abstain from doing anything that he or she has a lawful right to do, blocks or obstructs a highway. It appears that protestors are successfully prosecuted under these laws fairly regularly in Canada so I really don't know what point you are trying to make. Before you moved the goalposts this was about whether blocking property in protests was a form of force, and it clearly is irrespective of the legality of it.

I tell people what warren buffet says "Diversification is the enemy of the professional investor." If you think you can outpace the market Diversification is a bad play, it will ensure you can't outpace market returns. But if you don't know of any particularly sound investments at the moment Diversification is pretty damn great, it will basically guarantee market returns! What I say is find a project you believe in and focus on that. If your looking for a promising coin RN my biggest bag is $SCC on stakecube.net, 18000000 max supply, and a masternode that gives about 21.66% apy (and a literal shitload of other benefits including increasing your apy on BTC held on their platform, NFT's, Dapps, nanosecondtransactions), its still in its second stage so a very early project to get into, with a support team that is absolutely the best customer service I've seen in the crypto space. Only around 118000 people have accounts right now, they're aiming for a more organic growth, but mark my words when people actually find out about it will become almost impossible to reign in the growth.

Interestingly Melvin Capital has always shorted Tesla and had a large position in Doge so its interesting Elon Musk came out and spoke poorly of doge just before their liquidity test was due thus driving down the equidty in their positions by 15%iah percent less than 24 hous later. With 259 Billion dollars this is needing to find about 45 Billion dollars in 48 hours. Their selling off I think has had a lingering sell off effect in the markets. I think you are combining multiple issues and then expressing an opinion about the entirety of the conditions. I see your opinion having multiple components, each in itself is an issue people can agree or disagree with, among them: 1. Do people want more money - regardless of the source? My answer is when was the last time someone said they had too much money? 2. The "Crypto Market" is a largely unregulated space, and that comes with upsides and downsides. The stock market has reporting requirements, the SCC, tracking and reporting of your investments. Some people see that as overreach, but as Elon's comments show, there's also some stability that comes from the regulation. So as far as that aspect of the crypto market goes, I think some people only care when the the lack of regulation negatively affects them or their "investments". 3. People only care about the one that makes them the most money. Well - isn't that true about pretty well most investments? Like everyone, your entitled your opinion, but with so many conditions attached, I think your opinion is more a matter of "it depends on x,y,z" before you can compare it to other people's opinions.

I wish to invite your attention as to what exactly happened in the past. Reserve Bank of India's vide circular dated April 6, 2018 prohibited entities regulated by the RBI from dealing in virtual currencies or providing services for facilitating any person or entity in dealing with or settling virtual currencies. But later such circular was challenged before the Supreme Court and though Court agreed that RBI has power to issue circular in any matter related to money or payment system, but struck down the circular solely on the ground of Proportionality Test. Let us first understand what the principle of proportionality means? ***The doctrine of proportionality*** **-** The doctrine of proportionality is a principle that is used as a ground for reviewing administrative actions. The doctrine essentially signifies that any measure taken by a constituted body should not be disproportionate to its purpose. As was held in *Coimbatore District Central Coop. Bank* v. *Employees Assn*. \[2007\] 4 SCC 669, "Proportionality is a principle where the Court is concerned with the process, method or manner in which the decision-maker has ordered his priorities, reached a conclusion or arrived at a decision." It is basically dependent on following four main factors- (*a*)that the measure is designated for a proper purpose; (*b*)that the measures are rationally connected to the fulfilment of the purpose; (*c*)that there are no alternative less invasive measures; and (*d*)that there is a proper relation between the importance of achieving the aim and the importance of limiting the right. ***Article 19 (1) (g)- Freedom of occupation*** **-** It was contended that the 'Circular' was in breach of the right of freedom of carrying out an occupation not prohibited by law. Further, contending that the restriction was not 'reasonable' as per Article 19 (6) of the Constitution and that irrespective of its object, the impact of the Circular was a direct restriction on Virtual Currency Exchanges (VCEs) and not the actual trading- hence, a restriction from carrying an otherwise legal activity. As such, by the very reason that the Circular effectively wiped off all VCEs, it must pass the test of proportionality. In simple words, Supreme Court opined that, as long as it is not illegal, RBI shouldn't stop the Exchanges from dealing in Cryptos as Constitution of India promises Freedom of Occupation. Hence the Government's next move was to make Cryptos illegal. So there was a need for a law to be passed and government is all set to pass such law, post which exchanges will not be able to function in India. GOI have introduced a Bill named as The Cryptocurrency and Regulation of Official Digital Currency Bill, 2021, and the objective of the bill is " To create a facilitative framework for creation of the official digital currency to be issued by the Reserve Bank of India. The Bill also seeks to prohibit all private cryptocurrencies in India, however, it allows for certain exceptions to promote the underlying technology of crytptocurrency and its uses ". To conclude, Government is going to pass this law and make trading in Crypto difficult in India.
