You can't really anticipate, or I couldnt.. I profited for example by the fact that Auction pumped since some other defi coins pumped as well, like BOND. I sold a part of it and bought back when it recovered.. I sold some SNM when it pumped but I missed out on 40x gains.. got only 4x.. oh well..

There is a huge difference between an organic growth of said asset going up by buying pressure and this case of +1000% spikes & plunges. It happened before in the last weeks with SNM. Sometimes whale see an opportunitiy to buy up micro market cap crypto for a "small" amount invested to drive up the price insanely high. This will lead to a spike in interest and if enough people start trading & buying at the new higher levels they can dump back their bag and profit out of said created exit liquidity. Sometimes it's also executed by Pump & Dump groups where a leader ignites the pump with a few others and then their followers keep it up until the leader dumps back their bags.
Bit late to the party but I actually managed to warn friends ( and some here on the sub ) ahead of LUNA, Celsius, FTX and countless pump & dumps scheme such as lately SNM, NANO Not that beneficial for myself but cool to help out others less experienced in this complex crypto space

My guess is Low liquidity. Check out SNM that had a similar price movement. Sometimes whales target low trading liquidity projects so it creates FOMO / hype liquidity around the new price target. If they paid $3m to pump it like that and get $4m exit liquidity in higher value than entry value they profit. Basic pump & dump scheme
I know I’ve been mentioning it a lot in the sub but **don’t fall for pump & dump scheme during peak bear** When liquidity is low there’s lots of manipulation potential. Last time I warned about SNM and look what happened to it. Always double check the volume & liquidity of a crypto that gets a big pump & hype. If it slow -> it’s most likely manipulated. If it pumps for no reason -> manipulated. Market makers **never** trade like that. Only when big news dropped and they want to buy up immediately. Otherwise they hide their positions & need liquidity to keep the price stable.

In all my time in crypto I have never seen a coin pump so hard. SNM price went from $0.23 all the way to $12.61 for an increase of 5832% in a single day, with a volume increase of 73485.81%. If you just bought and held SNM with fiat then you don't owe any taxes until you sell, correct. However if you were actively trading in the tax year and bought SNM with profits that later dumped to zero you would still owe tax on the prior profits unless you lock in the loss. There have been numerous cases of people getting burned because they made $100k on a shitcoin, then bought another shitcoin with the profits that rugged, didn't sell to farm the loss in the tax year and now owe tens of thousands of dollars in tax on profits they no longer have.

There are groups going round manipulating dead/scam low cap projects on binance, has been happening for the last 6 months. Binance has also been happy to give them stable coin pairs, staking/saving offers, trading competitions & AMAs. SNM, NEBL, VIB, VITE & PHB to name a few.

I once owned SNM coin and I thinned part of it fortunately and got my money back but then they did a 10 to 1 reverse split and in order to get your coins you had to make an exchange ( I wasn't able to do it ) I lost those coins . I know where my error was but do sine research because the owners of the stock have also lost money , just look at a 5 year chart history. Avoid that coin is all I can say

There's solid stuff in there, though. From what I am hearing, IOV, ANY, BURGER, SNM, PROM, TEL are at least solid coins. I think OKB, SYS, SNM are too. Doge crap, cummies and doget prob scams, the others I just don't know at all. Definitely less stress-prone to just pump money into established coins rather than moonshots/shitscoins/scams/etc. There's a lot of shit pumping, but there's also a lot of shit that dumps real hard. Or just never really does much at all. (lost opportunity costs)
