It pained me seeing on coinbase having an avg buy price of ~4k and knowing I’ve bought bills of RSGP using btc through Sythe. Lmao. Sadly nothing juicy just another shoulda, coulda, woulda story and wish I knew the intricacies of btc before hod’ling like I do now. Another one was buying/selling TFT hats, materials, rares using btc on trade servers in ~2011 but again shoulda, coulda, woulda.
Part of it is like Pokemon, but with those Illuvials that you capture, you can play a TFT-like game, which has good e-sport potential. And like I was saying, the studio has plans to make other games that are all connected to eachother.
Why is cross platform usability of items good. Why do I want a skin of twisted fate in my card game. Why do I want a card back in magic the gathering in path of exile. Why do I want to own any of these items outside of games. How would I even use a TFT arena in another game. The good micro transactions only make sense in the context of the game they are made for. When I purchase micro transactions I want to support the developers of games I love in their game. I have absolutely no desire for them to expend any development effort or time to try and make these items work in other games or to import immersion breaking non tailored micro transactions.
The auto battle is part of the deck building. Just like how TFT or similar games “auto battle” when the round is ending. I highly doubt the open world exploring part while very few much bigger and much more experienced companies have that.
I am still not seeing the appeal here. When I purchase a game I am generally only thinking about whether that game will be fun and my time investment in that game, I am not at all concerned with taking any of my achievements or purchases from one game to another. And I am now certainly what would be considered a casual gamer, most of the games I currently play are on tablet and I only play a few hours a week due to a demanding job and other responsibilities. I also buy a fair amount of microtransactions, but don’t really see why I would want to bring my league of legends skin, my magic the gathering card back, my path of exile wings or my TFT arena to another game. Or how that would in many cases work, as a lot of these micro transactions only make sense in context of the actual gameplay loop.

This would only utilize the CPU, or am I wrong? The CPUs in TFT nodes aren't very powerful, mainly focus on lots of cores. I'll be using 256gb of RAM with 2 3gz 10 core CPUs, I'm not sure that would make more than few dollars BAN mining
Is there else anything like TFT (threefold io) that will pay for providing cloud computing resources (ram/cpu/ssd storage)? I'm seeing Akash and Holo as two competitors but neither seems to make a fraction as much. I'm getting some old Dell servers to set up as TFT nodes but I'm definitely wondering what to do if TFT suddenly stops paying, except for just sell them?

Well I spend an enormous amount of building my server farm for Threefold and helping others with their servers. The whole ecosystem runs on their token TFT. If it gains traction as the decentralized cloud platform for other projects, TFT will be in high demand.
Although drastically different games, I'm really excited about Illuvium (AAA quality - Pokemon meets TFT) since I was obsessed with Pokemon and have always been a collector, and FancyBirds (I remember how much I loved the games on AddictingGames and FlappyBirds back in the day).

From my experiences, you're not wrong. I've played a few games that are categorized as Pay-To-Earn. The model of the earning though is based on others playing the game to Pay-To-Win. For example: In God's Unchained you can sell your cards that you get to other players and they can buy them to build better decks to beat more opponents. Technically those players can also play the game and sell some of their cards to make profit as well, but at the base of the model you have to have people who are willing to pay to have better things to win for the model to work. Do I think it's still a sustainable model? Of course. The amount of money that people are willing to put into a game to win is absurd. But it does have to come with a level of balance as to make it not insanely unfair to the non-buyers. Things like cosmetic assets that players can earn and sell to others objectively are the better course for games. Think of things like CSGO gun skins or TFT hats.

Autobattlers are definitely a niche genre, but if you get into the strategy of it they can definitely entertain for a long time. TFT has had a pretty good run, after all.

I suggest looking into Illuvium. They aim to be the first AAA quality blockchain game with great tokenomics. It is an open world pokemon style game where you capture illuvials, then will be able to assemble teams of them to fight via an auto battler mode like TFT. They regularly drop leaks in their discord, and are supposed to release a gameplay trailer this month with the game releasing by end of the year. I think its because of the partnerships ICP has which gives it the hype, I need to look into Golem though as this is the first time ive heard of it. I also think threefold (TFT) has a better product with the peer to peer internet
