My only alt gamble (VVV) is currently keeping my portfolio in the green after I started aggressive DCA the beginning of the year. It started as a literal gamble as I didn’t mind missing out on the cash, and it seemed like the only one with some utility and future to it (used for a privacy focused AI and they are actively burning). Will I be putting more in that one? Probably no, unless the user numbers start looking similar to OpenAI, Claude and the likes. Other alts? Seemed more like gimmicks than a promising future, even something “established” like SOL. Regardless, I’d rather miss out than gamble money I can’t lose.
Only decent response in this thread. VVV, HYPE, maybe NEAR or SUI are the only ones I’d be looking at now. The rest of the coins in this thread haven’t been hot since the last bull run.
HYPE, and only really in futures positions. Altcoin space sucks. These multiyear charts show nothing promising and the numbers & info behind these projects dont either. VVV is cool too.
I see $VVV reaching $5B mcap minimum which would put it at around $100. I do think there will be a good dip in the future

BTC, HYPE, VVV. I've been looking for some mid and low market cap coins which aren't massively down from its ATHs, it must have clean tokenomics. It must be around like for like 1 year. It must be a descent and growing volume and liquidity. I haven't found any so far..
They mean altcoins because by crypto being over they mean 'the trading atmosphere we've been playing around in may never come back'. Hyperliquid broke through ATHs lately. VVV, nice chart. ZEC was doing well, may or may not recover from the recent exploit. 'Crypto' is ending, and it is simply becoming 'companies that have an actual product and deliver revenue to it's token' and 'everything else'. The first group has very very few tokens. The second has been going through big waves, but now that crypto isn't the only place for degens to gamble their hearts out and get 1000x, it may never come back. That's what the guy means by 'crypto is dead'.

The comparison isn't perfect l, VVV is obviously much more established with a larger user base and ecosystem but they appear to be targeting a similar audience. people who want AI tools without the usual censorship and data collection concerns. What caught my attention is the valuation. DOT is sitting around a $240k market cap while VVV reached hundreds of millions. I'm not saying DOT deserves that kind of valuation, and there are probably risks I'm not seeing yet, but the gap seems large enough that it's worth digging into. Has anyone here used the product or looked into the team?
I’ve seen a lot of bearish news regarding eth recently, and luckily had rotated out of the last of my positions last year. It’s likely to come back up, but there seems to be a consensus that privacy and AI will dominate this next cycle and so I would explore rotating into other coins (Near, ZEC, VVV)

I have some VVV and that one’s alt season has been going since January. The others, utter crap. There are some who have gaines, but the majority is still far away from the value they ones had.
My alt (VVV) is up 150%. I expected some increase due to usefulness of this token and supply being burned, but the 150% is pure luck.

The only thing really standing out right now as far as I know is VVV. They’ve been outperforming other alts in the past weeks/months. Question is whether it’s sustainable growth or it will come crashing down and never recover to what it once was like many of the others.

I was buying VVV around 1.50’s-1.90’s and with all the Claude, anthropic, privacy issues last couple of months, it’s taken off.

The way I see it is, Bitcoin is for payments in the wide open ecosystem, whereas other tokens can be designed for payments within closed ecosystems. The reason is because you need a fully trustless, immutable system for absolute money in the wild, whereas in closed ecosystems a limited management is acceptable - take VVV with DIEM coins for example for paying Ai server providers

I went against my gut feeling and didn’t buy in VVV before it hit its highs, watched it from my watchlist kicking myself in the ass. Now it has me feeling iffy because the big upside and pullback it saw instantly. I do need to invest in some Ai projects though
"Do you think crypto is still fair for everyday users?" If you do not want 10x or even 2x returns then it is ok. There are yeild bearing stablecoins that get yeild from bonds like usdy and usdl. Or hold usdc and getting 4.1% yeild on the coinbase wallet app. If you are fine with incredibly low risk returns then you are mostly fine as long as you don't use anything too new. But the problem with all speculative stuff someone even investing in bitcoin will hold the bag. For someone to make 1 million in this a lot of people have to get wrecked and many people are savvy most people get into crypto for quick gains so they will not hold onto tokens for long even the big ones. This doesn't also take into the fact the manipulation that goes on in crypto, we all know about the tether printer. There has been examples of binance and coinbase employees of insider trading as well as favoritism (like the whole VVV listing over virtual protocol) Even dexs like metora Jupiter and moonshoot sniping major coins on solana to dump on retail. Not to mention market makers like wintermule "max extracting". Then you have the rugs the fakers,the hackers and the rest where 4billion+ dollars is lost every cycle. And the whole trading stuff on solana is too extractive, people expect to make money when they are getting rinsed at every stage of the process. The whole memecoin ecosystem is just not good. But in general the whole crypto space isn't really good, even with the serious projects the developers dump hard on you with token unlocks. Devs till make out with the money making it even harder for retail to make anything. And even then someone is still holding the bag. A good example is xrp and the continuous dumping on retail, but every major coins pretty much does it and the communities tolerate even though people are loosing money over that. I hope stocks and bonds come onto the blockhain. Crypto truly is a gamble and you have to really belive that there will continue to be suckers that will continue the speculative frenzy and pour more money into it, as the chances to make money decreases due to dilution and maturation of the market. You can't double a 3t dollar industry easily and when the only thing holding it is speculation and only speculation it is bound to crash.
Not all alts, just gotta hope to pick the right ones. In the past week i doubled my money on KUJI and tripled it on VVV. First time ive been profitable in a while! Just got super lucky. Took a chance on a coin that dropped like 60% and 80% respectively, and it wasnt just from a HUGE quick jump then coming back down to earth. It was coins that had been much higher for a while then just had huge dips.
VVV up 80%, BASE chain is of to a good start, AERO and TOSHI holding up well too from BASE.
The craziest coin I've seen so far (I'm still a newb) is VVV. Venice coin. It went up 7.5k% in 1 day. I put $10 just for fun. If it goes up or down 30% I don't care. Just waiting for the next bull run 🤩🚀
