Avoid Ledger for god's sake. Ive heard good things about KeepKey, they avoid a lot of the problems that Ledger has. Hot wallet depends on the chains you want to play in. If Cosmos, Keplr has been fine by me but people like Leap. XDEFI wallet covers a ton of chains so maybe best to start there for broadest coverage.
Is it possible that your seed phrase was leaked/given anywhere? The wallet interface your using itself wouldn't really have anything to do with the funds being moved elsewhere, there hasn't been any breach on XDEFI. You can maybe ask support on the XDEFI discord and they can look on chain and try to see what happened but it sounds like the keys itself was compromised.
We can't rely on Cex's anymore, we should move to all our coins to self custody this is what crypto was meant for owning your own wealth with full control. DYOR of course, but here are some tokens I'm picking up here and there during the continuing downtrend of almost everything: BTC: of course, just DCA'ing. WINR: GambleFi play, small cap. Kind of a crowded market, and RLB getting all the hype, so I'm being cautious but dipping in a little. XDEFI Wallet: Multichain with tons of functionality (in wallet swaps, etc.). Has been building during bear and could benefit if the market grows again. KUJI: DeFi play on Cosmos, a standout in what has been a 'down only' eco. Building some nice tools if they can get more ppl to use them lol.

Exodus was my first. It's simple + UI is nice Metamask is less intuitive, but enables you to do much more than Exodus lets you do. Other more specific wallets: Keplr (Cosmos ecosystem) Phantom (Solana. Eh) XDEFI (I use it mostly with Thorswap, to trade BTC) My favorite right now, for Bitcoin: Sparrow (Haven't tried the LN yet, so I can't speak about lightning wallets)
Consider an alternative wallet like XDEFI. This wallet supports cross chain swapping and NFTs too.
Guys. I just got a ledger. My BTC generated address from ledger live shows bc1 ..... but it seems an invalid address when I try to withdraw from FTX. And the bc1... address seems longer than usual. Furthermore, I tried to import my BTC address from XDEFI wallet and it gives me another bc1 .... address but this time the address format seems the correct one and shorter. I believe the difference in address is due to the HD derivative path ? So which address to choose ? Why is ledger live giving the longer address bc1 ... address ?

My partner & just few people know I have crypto, and they're also in it. So there's no reason for me to hide it I don't think there's a particular wallet that support all types of coins. Most popular ones people use is Metamask, since it supports ETH & EVM-based assets. Check XDEFI wallet too; also a good one for NFTs & DeFi ,supporting major chains, and there's Panther wallet (this has in-built privacy & prevents address reuse)
