I hoped for a Star Trek type computer that you could interact with in plain English and it would spit out all kinds of (accurate) data. But it will probably more so be used for social/media manipulation and scams, in reality, just by looking how the current gen of AI is used. Pretty much. Electricity needs to be produced in real time and batteries don’t last long. Simply turning off all the power generators on Earth (or not constantly adding new fuel) is enough to stop them. You don’t need an EMP or something. Just cutting power lines and destroying a few key pipelines around the world would do it.

The likelihood of you knowing the nuke was fired is slim to none, so you can count that out. Most likely would be coming from a submarine so time from launch to detonation would be literal minutes, at most about 6-7 minutes if it’s headed to the middle of the US from a costal launch. Even an ICBM fired from the other side of the world, less than 30 minutes. The government won’t be warning you. Depending on the detonation method (ground detonation, above ground detonation, atmospheric detonation) will determine if you’re even able to buy. As an atmospheric detonation above the center of the US or above Chicago would blanket the entire US in an EMP blast and wipe out all technology as we know it. So you’re not buying shit. If a nuke goes off you can pretty much guarantee society will fall apart pretty much immediately. People will loot and riot very quickly, stores will be emptied in mere days.
