How many shares do you LT holders sell/buy at a time if you are re-balancing. Say you have 500 xyz at 200/share and want to sell all and buy equal dollars ABC for 400/share. How many shares would you block for sale and buy in one transaction? Any other do's/don't for these types of transactions? I have not been able to find buying/selling for dummies anywhere (day or swing trading advice is not what I want). I've managed to come up with my own guidelines. Avoid open and close noise Sell into green, it just makes me feel better Re-buy new holding same day unless markets been ripping up for days then be patient. See if there's a sale the next day but don't stay out longer than 1 day. Use blocks of 100 sell/buy (or smaller). This was just because of the guarantees about placement but it seems prudent to use some block/dollar limit. Little fish like to hide in the weeds. I also use market orders but I'm dealing with high liquidity LC stocks or funds. I watch RT bid and ask movement as I'm hitting the button. 100 block orders usually place instantly at where I expect for price and spread.

I use these, a variant of a risk reversal that had no name: - 0.5 delta LC - 0.7 delta SC - 0.2 delta SP Or the put variant: - 0.5 delta LP - 0.7 delta SP - 0.2 delta SC Advantage: pay near to no premium for the position. Take a good 200-300% on the call. Disadvantage: - the position requires margin to open because the short put is not covered. So you'll need quite a bit of excess fees. A large move in the wrong direction can cost you dearly.

Ahh GL with your long codor! AMD is trading right at mid point of that, so I hope there isn't any drastic movement from today until mid next month for you. I don't usually turn my losing call side to LC. I'm not seeing the benefit of that since IV crush would've significantly lost what you could've collected from the other leg? And if it dips more, then you're out of the differences in the other spread so it feels dangerous to me. Idk if I'm just being dumb tho lol Sorry if I am! But I really hope it works out for you!! Eliminate time from your charts - price-based fixed size bricks only. Time is poison - it is the enemy of price. It distorts price action, and thus trend turning points are obfuscated. Forget predicting levels, S&R, crayon spaghetti - nothing on the chart but naked bricks. your optics/toolset & method/technique are subpar, hence no edge, hence no competence which breeds confidence. Eliminate time from your charts - price-based fixed size bricks only. Rest comes down to position sizing, scaling/pyramiding/hedging, monetizing temporary countertrend retracement while simultaneously remaining in core trend.

Modern Hybrid vehicles are getting very good. They are priced well compared to true EV options as well. Toyota is getting ready to hit the USA market hard with their 2.4L Turbo Light Hybrid in the "bread and butter" Tacoma (Hi-lux in a lot of non-USA markets) and Four Runner SUVs. I am looking forward to the new Toyota Land Cruiser (Prado/LC-250 outside the USA). I think demand for that one in particular is going to be huge at its MSRP of \~$55,000 projected which makes it cheaper than a Jeep Rubicon and most of the Ford and Chevrolet SUV options.

You always need a good graphics not just for training, also for running your neural network. I can't imagine this happening in cloud. For example LC0 is trained by many people submitting training data from their NVidia graphics using CUDA backend. When the final neural network is ready, everyone downloads it but still you need something which supports CUDA in order to run it. Lc0 is one of best chess engines today and it couldn't work without Nvidia. There is many similar projects. Even we discussed what we could use instead, there is no other option at all.

Mentions:#LC
r/stocksSee Comment

I can tell you that every open source project I know for training neural networks uses CUDA. AMD has something similar too. If you train your neural network for playing chess (LC0 for example) then you won't be getting TPU. You will use your graphics for training what you need, then when you finish you will use that graphics for playing your favourite pc games. Totally different usecases. For the use case I have in mind, smaller teams building smaller neural networks, there is no one else than NVidia and AMD.

Ah I'm in Superstonk everyday apart from the last week as I picked myself a week's ban over protesting about RC liking Pultes tweet and Pulte interviewing LC. Not that I thought either where massively relevant but plenty of other stuff about RC's twitter likes and every post from LC on social media makes it on to superstonk so why suppress it just because Pulte was involved. Good to have discussions in the wild outside of superstonk. There's a lot of good information and DD on there but at times there is quite a bit of misinformation/misunderstanding from the poster as well of it being a bit of an echo chamber at times. But I've learnt a lot from being in that sub not necessarily just about GME but the markets as a whole.

Damn… well I suppose holding is better than outright selling at a loss right now. Maybe it’s unfounded or mislead but I do believe it possible :) but thank you very much for the info it does help me and I do see what you mean about being ITM for the long run. I might just drop another call with an ITM for a LC to see if I can cover my losses. Best case scenario, it blows up completely and I get massive gains from both lol worst case scenario… well I guess the stock plummeting to 0 would be worst but I suppose mid case scenario I lose a couple bucks and take this new info in to the future :) thanks! That did help me alot with what to do!

[How about 100 years.](https://thepfengineerdotcom.files.wordpress.com/2016/06/f-f_sg_sv_bg_bv1.png) And no, growth has not been smacking value for 20 years. Large cap growth has done well from the great recession until the end of 2021. Thats about 13 years. It also did well in the late 90s. Other than that, large cap value has been equal or better than LC growth. If anything has been "smacking" anything, it is small cap value smacking anything else. $10k invested in small cap value would be worth $6.7 million today vs only $1.7 million in large cap growth.

Could the wider distribution of medicinal cannabis for treating chronic pain help alleviate the opioid crisis? LC: Many scientific studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of cannabinoids, so a broader distribution network can only help alleviate opioid dependence. A growing body of research demonstrates a synergistic and opioid-sparing effect of cannabinoids as an analgesic treatment. By prescribing cannabinoids as a dual treatment, patients can lower the opioid dose, which could reduce the chances of addiction and risk of overdose. For example, one systematic review and meta-analysis demonstrated that the morphine dose required to produce an equivalent analgesic effect was 3.5 times lower when co-administered with the delta-9-THC cannabinoid. AS: The answer depends on the legislation and whether cannabinoid treatments are approved for medical use, while some research has found no improvement in opioid use after enabling cannabis access, the majority of studies support this synergy effect https://www.openaccessgovernment.org/medicinal-cannabis-the-future-of-chronic-pain-treatment/169685/

Nothing wrong with fixed income, preferreds and dividend stocks at all. I follow MPT and based on real world results and data believe it to be the most effective way to manage assets, and usually that means owning the Russell 3000, MSCI ACWI at a ratio of roughly of 65/35, then based on risk tolerence the bond side including mostly intermediate but varying degrees of short term bonds depending on RMDs and income needs amd risk tolerence. In this way you can create a full spectrum of risk tolerences in portfolios for all investors along the efficient frontier and, in mosy cases over the long run acheive the optimal risk adjusted returns. If someone (not you in this case, mostly young people who are chasing 2022 returns from LC Value stocks) tells me they want to be a dividend investor though, it is behoove of me to explain why they are likely misinformed and will mostly be better off in a MPT portfolio.

I had \~100 different preferred, common, and warrant going during 2019-2020. Out out of 80+ companies I took profit in SOFI, LC, LCID, NIO, and a few companies with 3-5X initial gain. Rest 80% companies went no where. That was several years ago. None of these SPAC stocks gained much in sales there after. Many already had AI in place tanked. By now my 3-5X gain is mostly gone. Close to 100% went no where. This is not to say dead cat will not bounce.

AI has around and many companies claim they are efficient using AI in recent years. Sofi, LC and several insurance, morgage companies but guess what ? IBM's watsonx Assistant is more than a chatbot. watsonx, unveilled 10 years ago is a supercomputer, supposed to be smarter than human. It is still being used by insurance and way less in medical. And yet in recent memory, total market has outperformed sc value. And not just 1 or 2 years. If you think sc value will outperform, go right ahead and put 100% of your portfolio in it. You can do whatever you want. You can put all of your money in a single small cap stock. Be even less diversified. Honestly I don't care. What's true is that over the past 20-30 years you would have severely underperformed a LC growth portfolio.

Essentially I just feel it’s a very risk averse strategy for a potential 45% gain. But I agree, LC has the potential for at least a double by that time period.

Why sell CCs for so much less than tangible book value so far out, when you (or at least I) expect the macro environment to be better and LC to trade nearer to book value? I think you’re limiting upside too much for limited premium. Honest question not just criticizing, I’ve got about 2000 shares and LEAPs myself and I’m trying to figure out if selling CCs makes sense. All the shorter time frame ones have shit premiums though.

Cash and due from banks is their money and a component of their cash. It’s very liquid short term notes, similar to fed funds. They’ll get a bit of interest from lending. They could convert it to straight cash on hand if they stopped generating interest from that money. Similar to SoFi their borrowers have high Fico scores and LC is very aggressive with their credit and lending provisions. If people in the 700’s stop paying back their loans we’d have much bigger macro concerns at that point. I like how conservative they are, they have close to $7B in deposits that fund their loans and they only got their national bank charter a few years ago. If interest rates decrease, the loans they’re holding should increase in value nicely. I do like the $8 covered call strategy for Jan 2025. Buy 100 shares for $6.40, sell an $8 covered call for Jan 2025 and collect $1.25 in premium. Their Tangible Book value per share is $10.38 right now.

Sorry to hear. I suggest have exit strategy prior to placing the trade. Have a hedge to compensate. E.g. you could have converted the LC into a spread to recover some money back.

VOO is a blend of large cap growth and value, VUG is just LC growth. So you’d simply be weighted towards LC growth is all. If that’s your intention, sure go for it, but obviously there’s no way of knowing whether growth or value will outperform. Don’t neglect mid cap, small cap, or international either, for the same reason that we just don’t know which will outperform.

Feels eerily similar to the AI fintech hype back in 2021. When that idiot went on CNBC and was asked "what does Upstart do?" and pretended he couldn't hear the question, think UPST is -90% since then, bulls were hyping it to replace FICO scores. AFRM, SOFI, LMND, LC etc... the list goes on. Who knows how long this current AI hype will go on for.

Then you should have a source that isn't a local news story right? Fent doesn't easily stick to weed, has a much lower burning temperature and is extremely distinguishable from flower. Can you find a single LC or GC test result for flower that contained fent? I'm sure it has happened, but I'm also sure that it's extremely easy to identify and that its extremely rare.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Toyota should just outright buy lucid. Lucid has probably the best powertain packages an ev can offer, while Toyota seriously lacks in that department. Toyota on the other hand brings huge capital and a reputation for reliability and trustworthiness. If the lucid air was positioned as an LC500/ LFA successor, it would do insane.

I say LC but what I really refer to is the Lexus LX. Don’t get me wrong I love the LCs, but I’m not a purist in that sense - I feel like the LX beats the LC in so many ways but the cruiser guys just don’t want to see it. Better finishings, maybe I’m just old and appreciate that stuff. I’d even go so far as to say there isn’t a single year of the LX/LC that I wouldn’t choose the LX, apples to apples. Heritage versions are out there for sale are you on iH8mud?

Nope.. honestly the strangle was a minor act of insanity... I've been holding some shares of UPST since 25 and dint dare add to it and average down.. becuase everytime I think ok bottom... upst gives me a hold my beer moment. So basically down about 48% on the shares and dint want to throw any more money at it. After seeings Lending clubs performance last week. I was frankly anticipating upstart to drop and actually bought the put a few days back thinking I could use it to hedge against further drop.. But two things bothered me... the first being LC dint drop very much.. its like the market has bottomed out on both stocks... the 2nd being the price of UPst has generally consolidated at this levels and then moved upto 18-19 range for random periods and even seen some action at 20+... Plus I read a zacks report on what they were actually upto... and found they had diversified quite a bit.. So I uh had my moment of insanity.. sold the upst shares and decided to just buy a call ..because if in the off chance the er was even a little bit good ..its consolidated enough to fire off.. plus I was honestly just looking for a 15% actual move from the 22% implied move. Kinda wishing I bought more calls with the excess cash but honestly I was just looking for a small offset to the initial loss.. and I figured the movement of a 100 shares at 13.5 had a better chance versus the number I actually had.. so yeah pretty sure my luck is done for the week now I need to calm down and remind myself luck is not skill.

Thanks for the response and good luck, I think SOFi is a great move, short term losses be damned. You’re right on LC but they’ve been consciously upping the average credit score of their client base over the past quarters.

Not to informed of LC but from what I am aware of SOFI has a higher tier customer base it lends to as well is substantially more diversified in its offerings and long term potential... I do belief both have a place in the marketplace...

"A single trade using one 2-Delta 45-DTE LP and a short 12-Delta 45 DTE strangle jumps BP from \~$50k to $110k." This statement does not make sense. Buying the lower put will use less buying power. Something is off. Also try adding on both sides (Call and Put 2 delta). BTW, TDA uses $35K BP per strangle for your trade. Adding LP and LC uses BP of $15K. I would have ball parked your W/L ratio to around that number. This should improve if you avoid entries below VIX = 20. This is probably what hurt your trade on 9/19/22 when VIX hit 28, coupled with aggressive rolling within same DTE. Honestly unless you roll closer to the money, it is difficult to hit 3x initial premium received based on backtests. For example, on the original trade that you posted, the naked put went from $22 to $56 when VIX went to 30 on 3/14/23. One more advantage that 2022 had was the large theta whenever VIX touched 35 where there is a resistance. I wonder how you fared in 2021 when VIX was in the teens most of the time? PRECOVID, VIX rarely saw 30.
