Because you can't exchange the local currency with the official rate to USD so you buy it in the black market with a premium, to exchange to BTC you have to pay the premium of LC to USD and from USD to BTC
And it’s even more reprehensible living in a weaker currency nation. Dependent upon LC, bitcoin didn’t even really drop that much from Nov-21 to Jan-23. We just had a crushing dollar strength expansion from May-22 through Q3 2022. It will now start to trade downwards as we enter recession to “lighten the blow”. Will be interesting to see if bitcoin trades as a risk asset during this time period, or an anti inflation asset.

Well, the poor and the middle class are the cattle that the owner (wealthy) sells to slaughter. They make their wealth off the blood/sweat/tears of the working class. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is looking to develop a proof-of-concept blockchain project focused on trade financing, alongside multiple top Indian banks, the Economic Times reported on Thursday. HDFC Bank (HDFCBANK), ICICI Bank (ICICIBANK) and State Bank of India (SBIN) are among the the banks participating in the project designed to tackle loan fraud. the report said. Unless IOHK has some way to access the the addresses of exchanges (which doesn't make sense if this is a decentralized system without a company's owner knowing all the addresses of private companies/exchanges using the blockchain), then it leads to the question of how he can know that this is a Coinbase account without having an account with Coinbase at this particular address. If IOHK turns out to have access to all exchange accounts so that they can search through addresses of exchanges they don't have accounts with, then please let me know. Charles' saying this is a Coinbase account would not allow you to say it's not his address since him knowing it's a Coinbase address would still support the claim that the address is his/IOHK's.
