During the 90s, public telecoms spent a ton of money on building our fiber optic cable: [WSJ - Wildly Optimistic Data Drove Telecoms to Build Fiber Glut](https://www.wsj.com/articles/SB1032982764442483713). Many of the companies at that time ended up going away (WorldCom, MCI, Level 3, QWest, etc.). They ended up getting acquired or folding into other telecoms that survived (AT&T, Verizon, etc.). One of the primary beneficiaries of that fiber build out was a company whose business model involved mailing DVDs to people (Netflix). The other beneficiary was a company that wasn't founded until 2005 (YouTube). It wasn't the people who dropped a ton of money into building the infrastructure, since those firms largely went away. It was the companies that were able to use the infrastructure cheaply later on because it was so abundant in terms of supply.
Let me tell my sportsbook that about my SB winning pick if it doesn’t hit. I’m not wrong, just early!
He's sometimes blamed for popping the dot-com bubble. He cooked the company books at MicroStrategy in the late 90s and when he was caught, he had to restate their earnings. MSTR collapsed and took the market with it. He lost more money in one day than anyone in history before him, and he had to settle fraud charges with the SEC. [https://www.wsj.com/articles/SB976826476753184721](https://www.wsj.com/articles/SB976826476753184721) Then he did tax fraud. [https://oag.dc.gov/release/attorney-general-schwalb-secures-40-million](https://oag.dc.gov/release/attorney-general-schwalb-secures-40-million) Where were the signs?

bullish to NVDA but bearish to openAI due to the liability of having to pay for all the chips. and again SB's timing just seems bad LOL
Does SB often hold mega cap stocks or are they doing this so they can speculate on startups?
Lions just have "it" this season. They're going to win it all at the SB. Just feels obvious. Thinking of putting money on them.
I'm not even a Lions fan and I feel like they're going to win the SB this year.

Whompy wheels” edit See also: List of lawsuits involving Tesla, Inc. § “Whompy wheels” lawsuit Starting in 2015, many Tesla drivers have complained about “whompy wheels”—an issue where the car’s suspension system breaks, sometimes causing a wheel to collapse or fall off the car.[253][254][255][256] NHTSA announced it was investigating Model S suspension issues in 2016, seeking input from the company and Tesla owners after receiving multiple reports of possible suspension failures. In addition, NHTSA stated it was concerned that Tesla asked owners to sign nondisclosure agreements covering repairs for safety issues;[257] a spokesperson for NHTSA stated “The agency immediately informed Tesla that any language implying that consumers should not contact the agency regarding safety concerns is unacceptable, and N.H.T.S.A. expects Tesla to eliminate any such language.”[258] Tesla disputed the characterization of NHTSA’s actions as an investigation, calling it a “routine screening” instead and questioning whether the reporter, Edward Niedermeyer, had financial motivations.[259] The 2016 probe was closed without further action.[260] Rather than issue a recall on potentially defective suspensions, Tesla has released multiple technical service bulletins warning mechanics about suspension issues and in some cases, advising replacement.[255] For example, Tesla issued SB-17-31-001 in February 2017, which stated “Some Model S and Model X vehicles may have been manufactured with front suspension fore links that may not meet Tesla strength specifications”, calling for those links to be replaced as the remedy.[261] Some of the additional bulletins advising inspection and replacement include SB-17-31-002 (front stabilizer bar links, 2017 Models S and X),[262] SB-17-31-006 (front suspension lower fore links, 2016 Models S and X in China),[263] SB-18-31-002 (front upper control arms, 2017 Model 3),[264] SB-18-31-005 (front stabilizer bar links, 2017–18 Model 3),[265] and SB-19-31-001 (lower rear control arm assemblies, 2013–14 Model S).[266] During a twelve-month period ending in April 2019, Tesla spent $4 million globally on warranty repairs to Model S and X suspensions, of which the plurality ($1.3 M) was attributed to front suspension aft links.[267] Based on data reported internally by a Tesla engineer in September 2020, Reuters calculated that approximately 5% of all Tesla Model S and X vehicles in southern Europe and the Middle East had required aft link repairs.[267] In October 2020, Chinese authorities forced Tesla to recall 30,000 Model S and X cars due to suspension issues.[256] Tesla stated the recall in China for the front suspension aft link and rear suspension upper link was to avoid “a heavy burden through the Chinese administrative process” but “there is no defect in the subject components and no associated safety-risk”, reporting the root cause was “driver abuse, including that driver usage and expectation for damageability is uniquely severe in the China market” and citing the overall low incidence of failures, both in China (0.1%) and elsewhere (<0.05%).[268] However, internal records show the front suspension aft link was redesigned four times between 2016 and 2020 while Tesla was resolving 400 complaints about aft link failures in China.[267] In December 2020, NHTSA opened a preliminary evaluation (PE20-020) in response to 53 complaints alleging that front fore links fractured at the steering knuckle ball joint attachment for certain years of Model S (2015–2017) and Model X (2016–2017) vehicles, which were the parts covered by SB-17-31-001, issued in 2017.[269] A lawsuit was filed against Tesla in 2022, alleging that after the suspension failed on a 2021 Model 3, the vehicle’s undercarriage impacted the roadway, igniting the batteries; after colliding with trees, the driver and passenger died.[270][271] In December 2023, Reuters published an investigative article showing that Tesla had dismissed prior customer claims for suspension and steering failures as resulting from prior damage and/or driver abuse, while internally documenting the same parts with chronic failures as flawed. Not even a Lions fan but I have a feeling they're going to shit on everyone all the way to the SB.

Me too. I remember the initial prop to build this thing. Nonstop is 2 hours 40 min. With stops 3.5 hours for LA to SF, with ticket prices far higher than a plane. High speed rail ticket prices are like 150 each way. Plane tickets are 1 hour 20-30 min, and 50-150 dollars round trip. You don’t want HSR from LA to SF (really) in that case. What you want is HSR from SF to Sacramento, with a few stops in between/developing the crap out of the farms there. Or you could just let people build housing. Won’t ever be cheap, but moderately priced nice condos are 100% possible. Think SB79, but with 4x the height limits.

Yeah OP is a 🤡 for this. Gov, NvD, SB, and now probably apple and TSMC. So many local coffee spots popping up, either slight more expensive than SB or cheaper. Definitely more aesthetically pleasing, welcoming, and relaxing to enjoy your coffee or do a little work. They are on their way to declining.
Just curious - what does this mean for the ppl who are having their college tuition paid by SB?
For all the people who said that lower prices would drive traffic you nailed it. In a tough economy it just does not make sense and the easiest thing to cut out if things are tight. I use to be a two times per week at SB now maybe 2 times a month and that’s the reason 100%
Working at SB is how living in a blue city feels like.
“Lost 90% of the value of his fund” ? Or his AUM went down 90% which is understandable because he doesn’t work there any more. Anyone investing in Key Square because SB is the CIO will obviously redeem when he joined the administration. Your post is utter nonsense and misleading.
Probably on the Packers winning the SB
SB - I'm not sure I'd want to be into shipping right now. I used to trade this and TNK/TNP/TEN. It is probably 6 months too soon to even think about them. Slowing demand and tariffs are a drag on the industry. Unless there is a catalyst (war, higher oil prices, etc) I would expect this to trade down or flat for a while.
the chieferees will win the SB again on the strength of Taylor cutaways to her telling the refs to throw a flag because someone touched her boyfriends
u/Geologic23, Sorry for not replying sooner due to family travel and Labor Day weekend festivities. Firstly, I just wanted to reiterate how useful your research/knowledge has been over the years and how much I and probably many others appreciate it. Regarding some of the assumptions and passive-aggressive remarks you directed at me which at times could be perceived as gaslighting - **below** are examples for context. Please note that I don’t take anything personally as Reddit is parasocial and we don’t know each other personally. I’m just trying to be responsive here. ***“Are you deliberately not following this discussion? I said you deleted the comment where you made the claim.”*** ***”So can you provide a source for your claim?? Please? Why are you refusing to do this?”*** ***”Come on just be mature and either provide a source or admit you didn't have one to begin with.”*** ***“And you missed the reply button.”*** ***“You really need to lessen your dependance on AI. If someone makes a claim, I expect them to have some reason for having done so. I don't expect them to go try to use AI to justify their statements after the fact.”*** ————- Geo, my original reply more than adequately expressed my personal opinion based on what I’ve heard from some of my Florida colleagues and what I’ve seen and read in last year or so. I’ve taken the liberty of listing some of the state legislation specifics you requested, even though my initial response was perfectly reasonable. And yes, I did have to look up the specific bill numbers as I did not remember specifics. https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/s/OtZjwsPB3M As much as I’d love to see **Tilray Brands** sell their intoxicating hemp beverages at UF games, I have to accept that it’s highly unlikely anytime soon. Great that UF has a partnership or deal with **Shock Top** beer. **Florida Intoxicating Hemp Beverage Legislation & College Sports** In 2025, Florida state lawmakers proposed multiple bills to crack down on hemp-derived THC drinks. None passed, but all pointed in the same direction: no THC beverages at university sporting events. - **SB 438:** Would’ve limited intoxicating hemp drinks to liquor-licensed venues using the alcohol distribution system as college stadiums don’t have those licenses, so they’d be out. Alcohol only allowed to be sold and consumed in specific areas at football games. - **HB 1597:** Aimed to ban sales at public events like festivals & outdoor events, which would include on-campus stadiums. - **HB 7027 & 7029:** Added potency caps, taxes, testing rules, and bans near schools. **UF’s stadium is on campus** so again, no go. None of these bills made exceptions for universities, including UF. **UF’s Substance Rules** UF already has strict substance policies at games. Fans can report drug or alcohol use via a gameday text system. Alcohol is only allowed if bought on-site, and even that’s tightly controlled. Intoxicating hemp drinks don’t fit into that model at all. **Summary** Even without new laws, it’s very clear where things stand: conservative lawmakers don’t want intoxicating hemp drinks at college events such as football games. Regardless, UF’s current rules make it nearly impossible. Yes, they serve **Shock Top,** but that’s just beer. It’s legal, regulated, and sold through standard alcohol channels. Intoxicating hemp drinks are legally ambiguous, especially in Florida. They’re treated differently: more restrictions, more regulation and more risk. With a governor like Ron DeSantis, they’re even less likely to get approved in my opinion. So even though both products come from plants, one’s legal beer, the other’s a legal headache. That’s the difference.
AskSlim is a legend in his own mind, and often so off I stopped following him. I am not saying cycles don't work, it is best to start with the first credible and practical publisher of helpful work who was JM Hurst. I was a broker at a large commodity house in the 70's and in their St.louis office there were group of traders led by Maury Strauss applying Hurst to the commodity markets and called out changes on our in house broadcast system. It was like magic to hear in real time as SB Oil crossing certain FLD's and taking off.
>what was the single most alarming metric that should have been a ‘holy shit, things are about to pop’ moment from the dotcom bubble? Barrons magazine did a March 2000 cover story called *Burning Up* on how many of the trendy new companies were crappy and burning cash at a crazy rate, with nothing to show for it. https://www.barrons.com/articles/SB953335580704470544?tesla=y This issue is often cited as a big part of triggering the sell off. John Templeton, the legendary investor, was semi-retired but famously shorted a bunch of the trashiest companies. He figured, correctly, that insiders would start selling ASAP after their IPO lock-up periods which were early 2000. He made an estimated $80 million on this trade. https://www.alphapicks.co.uk/p/meet-the-man-credited-with-one-of
Exciting to see Hemostemix move from research into real-world access. Florida’s SB 1768 really opens doors for “no-option” patients who otherwise face amputation or progressive heart failure. Boots on the ground in Miami, Naples, and Tampa feels like the right strategy to connect directly with both physicians and patients.
I started scalping shares to fund my Nike SB addiction, now I’m a full blown degen fullporting into Figma. What’s next?
what about Apollo and Brookfield invested $10B and $15B already into IR and AZ fab expansion. Now SB throwing in $2B. No big customers, good way to burn $
When’s the last time you bought a coffee at SB? Do you know their price range?
It seems impossible for anyone to match Apple’s retail presence, support network, ecosystem advantage, network effects, supply chain advantage, HW advantage, and brand advantage in a short time. As an example, Apple itself is proof how long it took: https://www.forbes.com/2008/01/15/iphone-apple-japan-tech-wireless-cx_ew_0115appljap.html https://www.wsj.com/articles/SB10001424052748703315404575250921648983384 So from launch it took several years to successfully challenge incumbents in Japan. Even in the US, the same story with Blackberry: https://www.forbes.com/sites/investor/2010/11/09/iphone-passes-blackberry-but-the-race-is-far-from-over/ So if you said four years after a revolutionary Samsung Android phone with a concerted, consistent, driven iteration and execution focus, would displace the iPhone worldwide I might say it’s possible. I don’t believe Apple would ignore Samsung for four years however.
how far you think the niners going this season? I hope they make a run to the SB since it's in San Fran right
I’ve started to turn SB off. I want to hear business and economic thoughts supported by data, not personal feeling about social issues. Rick Santelli is going down the same rabbit hole lately,
Obviously: [http://archive.fast-edgar.com/20250808/AJZVL22CZ222FJZ2222P2ZZ7GTC9ZV2SB272](http://archive.fast-edgar.com/20250808/AJZVL22CZ222FJZ2222P2ZZ7GTC9ZV2SB272) [http://archive.fast-edgar.com/20250808/AW2ZK22CZ222VJZS222M2Z4ZB4BGZJ92ZU72](http://archive.fast-edgar.com/20250808/AW2ZK22CZ222VJZS222M2Z4ZB4BGZJ92ZU72) [http://archive.fast-edgar.com/20250808/APZ3W62CZM22QZZN222H2ZZZMA73Z6S8Z272](http://archive.fast-edgar.com/20250808/APZ3W62CZM22QZZN222H2ZZZMA73Z6S8Z272) These 144s were supposed to be done by Wednesday. If we had a SEC, this kinda shit wouldn't continue. The gamma pump at close is going to stop; if nothing else, Tuesday's CPI will be a catalyst once it takes any possible rate cuts off the table this year. It's a shitshow, completely disconnected from any reality. I wouldn't get rid of that put, but it will be erratic due to all the market manipulation until either our trading partners get serious and completely sell off treasuries and equities, or some macro event (such as a war over the weekend or CPI) occurs. I have a tough time thinking they can prop this thing up another week, but the reality is the market makers will manipulate the fuck out of this market until they either die or something breaks (like a bank going under, because the Fed's reverse repo that is used to purchase assets is officially dead after the failed treasury auction yesterday.... meaning, nothing can save us once it goes). Good luck, DM me if you need anything.
So what's going on in Texas are they going to ban Hemp SB5 & SH5, looks like the governor Abbott has changed his stance and now is online with AG Dan Patrick, anyone have any info, would appreciate thx
It's hilarious, because it was HIM the crowd booed at the SB, not Swift.
100% wrong. Look at the chart I gave you where the blue line (stock prices) tank. Now look at Fed hiking: https://fred.stlouisfed.org/graph/fredgraph.png?g=1L5SB&height=490
Medical in Texas over Hemp, big battle right now SB5 & SH5. Governor Abbott and Attorney General Patrick are going at it , and it will be interesting to see the outcome.
Further back then the 28-3 SB and that feels like a lifetime ago
Fubo actually has good fundamentals as opposed to 90% of the other bullshit posted here. I’ve been toying with it since they streamed the SB for free. No reason to not buy in the mid or longterm.
What about buying options on TSLQ is that more ideal then holding TSLQ directly? Like if I want to gamble on the fact that I think sometime in 2025 Tesla is going to tank to sub 250, and I don’t have enough money to do puts, from a high level, how do I figure out the optimal buy in TSLQ? Any good recommendations for reading about how these inverse ETFS work and how you can take advantage of them if you are down to gamble a few hundred? IE, I’m ok with tossing a few hundred on my NFL team winning thr SB every year, how do I risk the same but on a stock I think will shit the bed before end of year.
Tbf, that's the same text that was already vetoed. From multiple recent sources it seems like the governor is still pushing to allow a small amount of THC to be considered non-intoxicating. [Bill Text: TX SB3 | 2025-2026 | 89th Legislature](https://legiscan.com/TX/text/SB3/2025) From the video linked above: >Host: Your problem is not the 0.3%. Your problem or concern is making sure anyone under 21 gets their hands on it, and there aren’t any products out there higher than the legal limit. >Abbott: ....for adults, we do want the THC level to be **below 0.3%, or we do it in miligrams, 3 mgs of THC**. It’s called **non-intoxicating levels of hemp**, which would be marketed. But it’d be a highly regulated system….to make sure anybody involved in that system would not be able to be selling, transmitting, moving, or involved in **any hemp based product that has more than 3mg of hemp in it.** And this was the Governor's comments, from a MM article: >But the governor’s new comments on the issue, [first reported by Community Impact](https://communityimpact.com/austin/south-central-austin/texas-legislature/2025/07/22/gov-abbott-texas-must-ban-intoxicating-thc-products-in-special-session/), were unclear, suggesting that products with very low levels of THC should in fact be permitted. >“**The only hemp product that’s going to be out there is non-intoxicating hemp**,” the outlet quoted the governor as saying, “**which is below 3 milligrams of THC.**” >SB 5, in contrast to Abbott’s comments, would outlaw products that fall far below that threshold, banning any detectable amount of THC. From the Community Impact article: >“The fact of the matter is, there are **traces of THC in the seeds that farmers use, there are traces of THC in the hemp products that farmers grow,” Abbott said July 22**. “\[Lawmakers\] need to make sure that farmers are going to be able to grow \[and\] sell their products, whether it be seeds, whether it be the fiber... **up to a level of no more than three milligrams of THC in it.”**
I thought that at first too but this seems much stricter. Section 9, about a third of the way down. "contains any amount of a cannabinoid other than cannabidiol or cannabigerol". Compared to old definition of " [has a delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol concentration of more than 0.3 percent]. https://legiscan.com/TX/text/SB5/2025/X1
Don't they have a chance of winning the SB this year?
What you guys think of Texas SB3 session today?
India has room for 4x the regard as America. Watch out, it might be M(umbai)SB subreddit (rather than WSB) that leads the charge off the cliff in the future.
“Proud to introduce #SB120 with Sen. Sharif Street (D-3), our bipartisan bill to legalize adult-use cannabis in PA. It creates the Cannabis Control Board, protects consumers, clears past offenses & invests in impacted communities. It’s time.“ https://x.com/senatorlaughlin/status/1943344373137084922
I never thought of investing in sofi that is smart because it's not too expensive you just have to hold for a bit which is hard sometimes when you live paycheck to paycheck. I have invested in Hood clsk take two and SB. I feel anything that has to do with crypto and AI and even Pharmaceuticals is a good buy in. Lot I've learned is pay attention to what's going on in the world and sift through it also do your research on these companies I've been wanting to buy Dell and Nvidia as well but sometimes you can't buy fraction shares and I'm only working with small amounts of money my situation may have changed yesterday for the better but we will see in a couple weeks how that goes but I made a good profit on clsk clean spark
I get SB gift cards given to me often (long story) and honestly can't find many items to buy even for free. (I like dunkin) But pinkidy drinkidy has my attention, I'm going there tomorrow
Nike SB Dunks. Bought them back in the early 2000s, kept them mostly on ice and sold a bunch of pairs for almost $1K each during Covid on eBay.
The ban in SB3 was for federally legal hemp products and not targeted at the medical market. That being said, the medical program in Texas is super restrictive and ineffective. I think it was only approved for epilepsy and end of life care. It’s probably why the hemp market in Texas exploded. People want access and it was the only option. There is a special session for SB3 to discuss regulation in the near future, so hopefully they will work towards synthetics being banned and federally legal hemp products will require lab testing and age restrictions.
Texas just vetoed SB3. Good thing for $MEDH
Wait, does this mean the Bills are finally winning the SB this year?? Go Bills!
Maxim Group’s 6/3 interview with CTM's CEO consisted mostly of softballs. Based on my review of CTM’s SEC filings, I would have posed the following questions: - Regarding their recent CPFF awards, do any of the teammates claim incumbency of their ongoing work and, therefore, explain how short the turnaround time for orders is? Specialty Systems and GTMR’s websites only list 11 job openings, most of which are over 30 days old. Is this really growth revenue, or are these simply the continuation of CTM work or its subcontractors? - Since the contracts are CPFF and “level-of-effort (LOE), CTM is essentially delivering hours in the form of outsourced staff augmentation. If they claim to deliver solutions, what proprietary tools do they possess? Does CTM own any intellectual property? - CTM appears to have high unallowable costs that cannot be recovered under cost-reimbursable contracts. How much do these costs impact CTM's margins? Are these unallowable expenses primarily related to debt service for CTM’s acquisitions, or is it a conscious decision to not bill G&A costs that would otherwise be allowable? Do investors understand that expense reductions would have negligible impact on margins on their CPFF contracts? - How does CTM plan to transition any of their current SB set-aside work? While they have Full and Open awards, they will compete against mid-sized and tier 1 concerns. Additionally, they have JV and mentor-protege agreements. However, do these SB partnerships have the necessary capabilities? Does CTM have any opportunities with these partners that are "primes" in their pipeline? - Have CTM’s recent incurred cost submissions been audited by DCAA? What constitutes non-GAAP in their statements? How do their bid track against their actual incurred? - Is unfunded backlog being conflated with contract ceiling, particularly unexercised option years?
It's almost as bad as Philly when they won the SB.
The federal government, through agencies like ICE, wants to deport people, they have the legal authority to do so, and California cannot fully stop them. Federal supremacy allows ICE to conduct deportations, as seen in recent 2025 raids. While California can limit local assistance via sanctuary laws like SB 54, it can't block federal agents from operating independently on the ground. Courts have upheld this balance, though legal challenges can delay actions. _Disclaimer: Grok is not a lawyer; please consult one. Don't share information that can identify you._
How is SB still alive? He robbed his own party, looks like the cover of an alcoholism pamphlet, and makes enemies with everyone.
Pets.com, I remember a SB where they had a few commercials with that sick dog puppet
lol! You funny. Next what we are asking back, SB loss, money I lost in the market.
Texas House passes bill banning sale and possession of THC cannabis products "We are deeply disappointed by the Texas House's passage of [SB3], a bill that dismantles the legal hemp industry and ignores the voices of small businesses, farmers, veterans and consumers across the state who rely on hemp-derived products for their livelihoods and well-being," the Texas Hemp Business Council said in a statement after the vote. https://www.cbsnews.com/texas/news/bill-bans-thc-sales-passes-texas-house/ So dismanteling the status quo of states is now officially confirmed? Cannabis / hemp rights are being raken away again. Do I understand this correctly?
Didn't they broadcast the SB this year for free?
They would have lost to Brady in the SB
Nike SB still has good designs. Most of them are simple and clean. They market them for skateboarding obviously but they pretty good for everydays
Hope your firm performs better than the Chiefs did in the SB
There’s talk about rising prices and spending pull backs… but honestly my family and I still go on trips, still eat out once A week, I still buy my SB almost daily, … the only thing we’re holding back on is home improvements
*Morning Euro poors & fellow Wendy's night shifters. Imma need a little extra time at the bar this morning to prepare for my...well you know.* *But hey look at the bright side, My Toronto Maple Leaf puts printed bigly. 6-1 at home? Holy beegeebers Batman, I haven't seen a crash like that since...well this years SB.*
Fckn criminal My business partner was selling huge amounts of puts on OXHP. We were actually at a SB healthcare conference in the city listening to this dip sht talk. My partner thought the stock was going to the moon. Very next day the news came out . They were cooking the books. We lost 1 million that day and i had to go borrow a million from my banker to pay the MC. Took me 3 years to pay the loan off. This is absolutely history repeating itself. Very sorry about your wife bro. I lost mine 7 years ago to brain cancer at age 59 after 40 years of marriage. Be well brother
Walmart is gonna smash earnings, Walmart is 3x by EOW, Broncos 14-3 SB60 champions, holy fuck I’m bricked up typing this
I know exactly where the number $35 came from. It was a survey done by the American diabetes association. If 1/3 of people who need insulin can’t access it, then I would expect to see lots of deaths related to that. Wouldn’t you? If $35 was reasonable then why would Gov newsome veto a bill that capped insulin at $35? https://www.gov.ca.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/SB-90-Veto.pdf
> This only proves that Republican voters have the ideological stance of a toddler who agrees with anything his parents say. The unprincipled pursuit of power is the only consistent principle of conservatism. That's not just the opinion of some hysterical leftist on reddit. David Frum, the bush speechwriter who coined the term "Axis of Evil," said basically the same thing in 2018: * *"If conservatives realize they cannot win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. They will abandon Democracy."* https://imgur.com/a/Ie8SB7R If someone is a conservative and they don't like what maga is doing, maybe they weren't actually a conservative in the first place. Other people just told them they were. -----------------------------------
I think the conversation went like this: HL: What is your offer SB: Have you said thanks today for the tariffs? HL: Walks out without a comment.
The idea that Saudi or any wind-blown sand cannot be used in construction was incorrect information that keeps being repeated. For the longest time I've argued this and didn't have a good source, thank you Grady from practical engineering for the best possible video explaining every angle of this. https://youtu.be/SB0qDQFTyE8?si=aQ4ZbVoT4iXvNg3s

> I personally don’t think Walmart shelves will be empty in less than 2 weeks I think most big retailers will be able to weather this but my economic concerns are for goods-based small business (SB make up 45% of GDP and employment). From what Im reading, they are getting hit especially hard and that could bring us to recession much sooner (if my hypothesis is correct)
We have a recessionary market crash and there’s a SVB, SB, and first bank market crash.

>The price of beans is only going to go up. While Starbucks is a huge buyer, and leverages volume against producers, it's a seller's market anymore. SB has their own farms and is continuing to buy more. They are not competing against others for beans. They grow their own.
Nobody can convince me that the quality of SB straight roasted black coffee has NOT declined over the past 5-10 years. I don't know if it's the quality of the beans, the roasting process, or any combination thereof, but the flavor has taken a massive hit and their dark roasts just taste BURNT. I no longer prop up this shit.
I saw [this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/Economics/comments/1kay01t/comment/mpq4x5n/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) yesterday on the same 'miss on earnings' issue. They will use this as an excuse to raise prices further, meaning less people will buy as the economy grows worse. Downward trend. I have made my coffee at home for two and 1/2 years because SB is too expensive for me, and I live in a rural af area.
Japan Starbucks is like the Golden age of SB. Affordable, quick, clean and the baristas dont look like they work at the sideshow
SB looks and sounds like he cries himself to sleep every night after all the lies that he sounds like he doesn't even believe himself!
DB gaining customers, SB loosing I think
Eagles are visiting the White House tomorrow. Their jerseys are green and they beat a red team in the SB. Calls it is retards
Lions suck, what? They are one of 4 NFC teams that are SB worthy. We are living in a timeline where the Commanders or Lions might be in the next Super Bowl. 100% wacky.
RT SB -> Vegas is like $150 max, under 100 at times
Took one in SF after the SB last year. Weird experience but one of my friends stated, “if I was a woman, I’d much rather get picked up by a Waymo especially after being out all night, than an Uber”. This is the future.
