It’s actually a bullish argument for NOW that some investors think it matters that random SN users complain about hating the product. 1. The SN experience is highly contingent on how it’s set up. The beauty of the product is how many options it gives you and how great it is if you put in the time and money into setting it up well. If you don’t however, there could be issues. 2. Every established enterprise software company gets hate for a couple reason. The first is simply that if a product has millions of users, there will probably be some people complaining on Reddit. The second is that these companies often have deep moats and are very sticky. They can get away with keeping parts of their product dated because they know their customers won’t leave. This is frustrating for a user, but it’s actually a bullish signal and reflection of a MOAT for investors

They currently have to renew as it’s so integrated. Hence the slow shift away. There’s so many newer platforms now (in my category anyway) that blow SN out of the water and for the admins seems much more fluid to use.

Every business with pricing power like ServiceNow will jack up prices if they can - 97\\98% renewal suggest business are still willing to pay. Switching costs alone couldn’t keep renewal and revenue growth rate that high Also, I think what you’re saying would have been more valid 6 months ago, but I really like the steps they have taken with their acquisitions and AI strategy. Big corps are starting to realize how much of a nightmare it is to build, maintain, and secure your own in-house version of SN with AI. I think this will make them appreciate NOW more. Oh also token prices are being raised so high, everything surely feels expensive rn.
Also gotta factor in mature margins tho. Salesforce margins historically have been a solid guide, but with AI who knows how margins will shift. I’d still factor in margin pretty significantly expanding tho - the beginning of this AI race is logically when SN should be spending the most on R&D and caring less about immediate profits.

Not really stock related, but I always claim that a bread maker and a slow cooker are by far the best bang for the buck in home cooking. A bread maker produces fresh bread with about 5-10 minutes of "work" per loaf. Slow cookers make delicious meals in 10-15 minutes. So much healthier than anything you buy in the store too, and for pennies. I'll put my bread maker honey oat bread (with stone ground wheat flour) up against store bread, and a loaf costs about $0.50. Long Cuisinart I guess (they trade OTC). Maybe SN?

Without more context, I’d agree that most often it’s due to over customizations and not maintaining OOTB practices with most solutions like SN nowadays. Any platform necessitates care and feeding as well which often gets shoved under the rug.
Yep, SN is the leader for most big orgs. There is a switch in the market right now as their costs have risen dramatically and customers aren’t getting returns worth the price. They are very predatory and it shows in client conversations. They did change how account execs get paid, now for adoption of new entitlements, not just purchase. So maybe that’ll change.

Rarely eat at restaurants because they've gotten expensive for what they offer and I actually like cooking. There's definitely frozen ingredients put to use and some frozen pizza and stuff like that but rarely am I eating frozen meals in the traditional sense. There used to be a couple of traditional frozen meal things I liked 4-5 years ago (CAG's Frontera meals) but those seemed to go away with the rise in inflation. Somewhat related, got a Ninja Creami last year and really like it. I don't know how SN has a sustainable moat, but it's a fun product and the stock has certainly done well so far. #3 I completely disagree. Try saying that to NVDA bulls who have been listening to earnings calls and could literally see AI 5-7 years ago coming along. Even if you invested after AI blew up, NVDA has outperformed the S&P by like 10X. It’s not a fools errand if you can actually identify growing businesses, their strengths, weaknesses, and have a vivid enough imagination to see how they could grow over time. I’ve beaten the S&P for 4 years straight. My bigger holding is NVDA, HOOD #2, SOFI #3, SN #4. Am I just “lucky” or did I evaluate good businesses that I could see disrupting the current landscape and growing stronger than a benchmark?

SN has incredible growth but the risk is whether they are about to get decimated by the tariff terrorist. That, not the ER, is why it has sold off.
There are some stocks that crack me up sometimes. Like looking at $SN, SharkNinja it's kind of wild to see how much growth the company is seeing, both in stock price and revenue growth. Since March of like 2024, it's been growing like 25-30% per quarter in revenue growth. Fundamentally, it's not a bad price for what you are getting in the business.
