You do go through Seattle on I5 to SR520. Or you can take 405, but 405 has worse traffic half the time. You have no idea what you’re on about lmfao embarrassing. I didn’t say you said every car. 10% is a lot of cars sure, not enough to say it’s irrelevant that someone switching from a 20mpg car to a 40mpg car had a noteworthy experience.

Incredible wealth of information in the NY Fed Quarterly Household Credit Report. Highly recommend you read it. Some interesting tidbits: https://i.imgur.com/39QYN9G.png Credit card delinquencies remain definitely elevated but there are signs of plateauing and leveling off. Student loan delinquencies are literally mooning. It seems people are saying fuck you, I'm not paying. The good news on this is that nearly all loans are government backed so it shouldn't be a huge hit to the financial system. Overall delinquencies are normalizing but still below pre-Covid and extremely healthy: https://i.imgur.com/ONVBPC0.png Foreclosures and bankruptcies, also super low: https://i.imgur.com/E2D5iBf.png Not surprisingly there is some bifurcation by age. Older and wealthier are doing around pre-Covid levels. There is definitely more credit struggle for GenZ and people in their 30s (light blue and red line): https://i.imgur.com/2Y3SR4e.png Overall? I think very little cause for alarm in terms of the economy and stock market. Fed will keep liquidity in the system high, credit available. Holiday shopping was gangbusters and bullish.

I'm not that dude you are replying to but I am going to take a guess as to why they listed energy and metals. Energy: The heavy hitters are shoving AI down our throats. In order for that to be a thing they need massive power intensive data centers. Microsoft went in on a plan to renovate and reopen three mile island. A couple of them (off the top of my head I think GOIG and Nvidia are looking at small.modular reactors (SMR). The DoD/DARPA are also interested in SMR for forward operating bases. Being able to drop a conex box into a war zone to power your FOB would be huge. Nuclear power is the option most of the AI tech companies are pushing for. They are throwing money around to get things fast tracked which will persuade the government to *"streamline"* the regulation process. He'll, they are already using their own AI to help design nuke facilities to power the data centers. You see OKLO and how it has pumped this past year. Nuscale Power has been making noise in the space as well as a handful of others. Metals: Rare earth metals are in everything, most critically to nations ... military toys. It has always been that way. The SR71 Blackbird was build out of titanium that the U.S. bought from the Soviet Union through Shell companies. The S.U. would never sell the U.S. titanium in any significant quantities knowing the U.S. would use it against the S.U. Same principle applies today. China controls the vast majority of rare earth metal production. We already saw a run up of mining companies this year. The trade war between the U.S. and China exposed the U.S. as being in a very bad spot relying on Cjina for the metals the U.S. required to make their war toys. Combine that with the AI push from the MAG7, which their data centers/chips/GPUs all require these metals, and you'll see the U.S. continue to ramp up sourcing and funding mining operations to supply their metals needs. Even if the U.S. and China start to play nice with each other, the U.S. knows it can't allow both national security *and* the wider commercial economy to be reliant on China's willingness to sell rare earth metals to the U.S. With quantum computing transitioning from R&D to adoption, that is one more tangible space that requires metals.

Today I found out that the song 1985 by Bowling For Soup is a remake of 1985 by SR-71. Original is better.

Oh, no, he plans to buy back in... just when a black swan event causes a historic market crash that lasts 3 days! I feel a little bad for people like this. I at least have a friend I can rely on. I'm not going to pretend I wasn't getting a little nervous. 212 to 178 in a week or so on NVDA... by far my largest holding since 2019. But I talked to my friend who manages about 2.5B and is a SR VP at MS; >Overall market has run up ALOT!! It needs to cool off a bit. Market corrections are normal and quite frankly necessary. Yes they suck but it’s just part of the normal market cycle. There’s no real justification as it’s all worries over high valuations caused by AI trade. Maybe some we justified but the big names have earnings to support it. Sit tight, nothing's changed. Same guy who told me to buy NVDA at 2019, 1500 shares at 230(5.7 cost basis) and keep buying and told me to buy AVGO at, 500 at 500 in '22 and keep buying. I knew when it was at 212, it wasn't headed straight for the 275 price targets on NVDA, I knew AVGO wasn't headed straight for 440. The kid is 25 though. So... hope he learned a lesson. He may be able to get back in below 180 yet before earnings. But he's damn sure not getting back in at 88 unless something fundamentally changes in NVDA.

Bad news is you didn't dig deeper. Dig individual companies and buying via proxies. When 🇺🇸 had defence programs in 60s-70s they been banned by Soviets/China buying for example titanium etc. But 🇺🇸 had access to it via proxies and built SR71 successfully to spy on Soviets, China, N. Korea. If China bans exports RE to all of the world nations 100% then it is different story.

Mentions:#SR
r/investingSee Comment

Maybe the market knows that China embargos are easily worked around with third party countries or simple ignored in practice. If the materials are really needed they'll find their way through. Apparently the titanium for SR-71 Blackbird jets was sourced entirely from USSR, despite being export controled, material got sold through East European intermediaries to the US. The amounts of these rare earth used in any product is *tiny*, even with 1000% price increased the effect on final product price might be 1% or less. On the other hand, 100% tariff means instant doubling of goods, and transfers via third countries is more difficult for entire ships.

Here are some of the leading theories: * A new aircraft or aerial system (some suggest SR-72, the rumored “son of the Blackbird”, or some advanced stealth / hypersonic project). [Reddit+1](https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/comments/1nmgyrv/lockheed_martin_skunkworks_teaser/?utm_source=chatgpt.com) * Some kind of energy/propulsion reveal (fusion / advanced reactor) — though this is more speculative and based on very thin clues. [Reddit+1](https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/comments/1nmgyrv/lockheed_martin_skunkworks_teaser/?utm_source=chatgpt.com) * Enhanced ISR (intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance) or unmanned/autonomous systems. [Reddit+1](https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets/comments/1nmgyrv/lockheed_martin_skunkworks_teaser/?utm_source=chatgpt.com) * Could be a tech demo rather than a full product. Possibly something shown as “look what we’ve developed, coming soon.”

Archived here: https://archive.is/2SR2N Some key points: Rescheduling would mean many additional strict rules American cannabis producers will have to adhere to: >If cannabis is moved to Schedule III, the implications are profound. It would acknowledge cannabis’s medical use and lower abuse potential, unlocking relief from IRS 280E tax penalties, improving banking access, and expanding research opportunities. But it would definitely not legalize recreational cannabis nationwide. States would still govern access, DEA oversight would remain, and businesses would face the daunting task of complying with FDA standards and pharmaceutical-level GMP requirements. Rescheduling is a step forward—but not the final destination. >The reality, however, is that rescheduling isn’t something a president can simply declare. The process requires coordinated evaluations from HHS and FDA, followed by DEA rulemaking and a public comment period. Legal challenges are likely, and procedural snags already delayed the Biden-era effort. Trump’s statement that a decision could come “in the next few weeks” is aspirational at best. >The main point here is that rescheduling is not legalization. It’s not even a clear invitation to participate in a normalized federal marketplace. Instead, it’s a reclassification that drags the cannabis sector out of the shadows of total prohibition and into a pharmaceutical-style framework. That means **DEA registration, FDA oversight, and full compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)**. For an industry built on entrepreneurial grit, cultural rebellion, and patchwork state rules, the compliance reality is going to feel like a sharp turn in the music.

I am holding it for the long term, although given the recent massive insider buy from SR One, the short term seems very enticing too. Wait out biotech until phase 3 success or approval and there will be no upside. By the time phase 3 starts, they are usually sufficiently de-risked. Phase 2 is where the most gains are usually made. As for semaglutide beating it to market and eating its lunch in CVD: No study has shown semaglutide reduces CVD risk in non-diabetics or people with normal BMI (not obese). And based on how it works, it wouldn’t reduce CVD risk in those populations anywhere near mainstay treatments. It would be complimentary to a subset of the patient population at best. The reason why it reduces CVD risk in diabetics and obese individuals is mainly because it treats diabetes and obesity, meaning diabetes and obesity themselves are risk factors for CVD. The genes CRSP’s CVD pipeline targets are among the most genetically validated targets in CVD. Lp(a) is high in 20% of the population, and is worse than LDL-C and there is not treatment for it on the market. Its gene is known, and it has been almost eliminated in studies and CRSP’s own trial. Same with ANGPTL3 for LDL and TG and AGT for hypertension. These are all proven endpoints for clinical trials in CVD. Noncompliance is a huge issues in medicine in general, especially CVD patient population. Semaglutide and the like are extremely overblown by the media and celebrity doctors. They’re not a magical drug. They’re just more obese people than lay people realized. What is CRSP is targeting is proven. The effect they will have on the risk of CVD is proven. That’s why they are validates clinical endpoints. Proven, in biology, means a lot. Not many others can claim that. Why? Because these genes are known based on loss of function mutations in humans to have these effects. So, in a sense, the clinical trial has already been done. What’s actually being tested is the toxicity and gene delivery modality. And the initial toxicity data that just came out looks great. And the gene editing platform, using crispr instead of prime editing or newer modalities like its competitors is a better strategy because it has a much longer track record, we know more about it, and the off target effects based on studies is so minimal that even if you used other modalities it wouldn’t make a difference and would come with much more significant trade offs.

Giiant pharma are not listed. Their activities are supported by supported by a $500,000 grant received from the US Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, through its IBD Ventures program. More on funding: In **May 2024**, the company raised approximately **$4 million** via a private placement led by Ladenburg Thalmann, explicitly earmarked for PALI‑2108 development and working capital in **December 2024**, they completed an **underwritten public offering**, securing about **$5 million** from new common shares and warrants—proceeds earmarked for clinical trials, R&D, and working capital Through their Giiant Pharma co‑development, Palisade received **CAD$1.39 million** from Canada’s SR&ED tax credit (early 2025), reimbursing preclinical development expenses for PALI‑2108 This stock will most likely increase the release of more data. They might need to dilute, my hunch is they could get non-dilutive grants. I might be useful to listen on their earnings call (if they have one).

Reminds of that story SR-71 pilot radio chatting with air traffic controller. F18 pilot asked ATC to help verify his ground speed, feeling all smug. Flexing And then the SR-71 pilot jumped in to ask for his ground speed verification. Real flexing.

VWAP is something I am starting to incorporate recently. Its kinda a 'fair value price' based on volume so i think it shows where large fish would want to buy. Price will zig zag off vwap pretty often so thats useful. Stochastic RSI is one of the first indicators I really connected with, i use longer term inputs to catch the large daily swings and that shows me when it might be time to enter/exit. I added a second layer of SRSI to capture even wider swings and when these timeframes line up its pretty accurate. SR levels and order blocks help see how far price can go and possibly reverse, or go sideways for a bit. Algos love SR levels because they can fill large orders and trigger lots of buy/sell. I try to enter when it breaks put of these levels strongly, and exit before we reach the next levels. Price action and volume are complex but help in identifying direction, trends, and momentum. I trade on 1 minute candles but i check 5, 15, and 30m for confirmations. Im also starting to recognize fakeouts and stop loss harvesting movements, but a fast breakout will look almost identical so thats tricky. my best entries are when im patient and catch a small pullback in price before the trend begins. That's been huge for increasing profits and being in a better position if it goes backwards for some time. I have other indicators sometimes like 8/21 MAs or super trend but it's too noisey most times. I am trying to simplify and have less distractions from the basic movements. I really want to limit my losses and see if this could be actual income. Im close but need more self control. Too many times I get excited and watch +30% go to 0 and then become delusional until -100%... if I was more disciplined I would take profits earlier and keep my goals more realistic. +$250 a day would be life changing but im -$250 a lot chasing for $2k... smh

Thanks for describing that in detail. I've been trading SPY 0dte and learning as much as I can about different strats. I keep hearing "keep it simple" lately and I think i need to focus on less but be more disciplined. Price action, volume, SR levels, VWAP, stochastic rsi is my current plan for timing. My results are not great I've had lots of success but I often find myself going against my own logic because I get excited about a possible reversal etc. I need to cut losers sooner and focus on risk management more. If I had those two things dialed in I would be profitable right now. Best of luck

I would be surprised if the US didn't just lie about it and say it was a non military use and then use it in military uses anyway. Unless they're going to prevent exports of certain minerals altogether. Believe it or not, the titanium that was used to make the SR-71 came from the Soviet Union fenced through various shell companies and third countries via the CIA (they said they needed it for pizza ovens).

My bet is that the Automakers will have to "give" a portion of these to the MIL. Thinking of... Titanium was crucial for the SR-71: The SR-71 was designed to fly at incredibly high speeds and altitudes, which created immense heat on the aircraft's structure. Titanium was the only material strong and heat-resistant enough to withstand these conditions. Limited U.S. supply: At the time of the SR-71's development, the United States had limited access to the specific type of titanium ore needed for the aircraft's construction. Soviet Union was a major supplier: The Soviet Union, the primary target of the SR-71's reconnaissance missions, happened to be a major source of this titanium ore.

I tested a Model 3 (SR, LR, Performance) and a BYD Seal (Excellence). The Tesla is by no means perfect, but so much better, it wasn’t even funny. Teslas biggest issue are shitty auto wipers, an ancient Autopilot version in Europe and the lack of a drivers display/HUD. Besides that it’s a solid car and the ones we get in Germany are also well built (unlike the US made Teslas). The BYD had multiple drivetrain issues during the drive, it has no route planning, the navigation is awful, the German translation is embarrassing, the suspension made scary noises, the suspension was also way too hard and bumpy, the leatherette had a bad smell, the audio system (dynaudio) was awful and it didn’t drive good because they put a multiple second delay on the accelerator. Add to that the unusable traffic sign recognition (that would constantly beep at you) and the steering assist that drove like a drunk person at best and couldn’t even hold lanes on the Autobahn … There’s still leagues between these cars, most of the „BYD propaganda“ is spread by Us citizens who never even sat inside one of them. Where BYD shines is the typical unfair Chinese penetration pricing. They’re pushing they’re cheapest model with insane discounts, we’re at like 19.900 € atm. That is very very cheap.

Similar dealio with titanium. Many countries have titanium containing minerals. Few mine a substantial amount, even fewer actually produce metal. Really it's just China producing ~50% of the world's titanium and Japan producing ~25%. You'd think after the CIA had to buy titanium from the Soviets through shell companies to build the SR-71 during the cold war the US would have developed some reasonable level of domestic titanium production. Apparently not.

We also just don't have the raw materials to make everything. Canada is a giant forest with lumber ideal for home building. We don't have what they have in abundance. We buy oil from them because we get it at 20% below market rate because they can't hit the global market with it. We don't have precious metals and rare earth minerals we need. We don't have titanium in great quantity. Hilariously, to produce the SR71 spy plane the CIA had to set up dozens of shell companies to buy it from Russia. A great example of effective tariffs was motorcycles. Didn't want Kawasaki to bankrupt to destroy Harley. We didn't tariff the entire imports of Japan. The point is to keep another country from tanking one of your markets, which to me I'm not currently aware of other than maybe some shit with China. But then again, they could make up for a good amount of it in another market like soy. Our trade imbalance where it exists keeps everyone on the dollar. Not to mention basic capitalism says we like buying other stuff. Unless you're trying to prevent reliance on an important and required resource (like oil in the hands of dictators in the 60-80s) then this is all futile and will turn trade partners to someone else. Good luck unfucking that without severely undercutting prices, assuming anyone trusts us after this.

Different dude here, I don't have a ton of knowledge, but I am a private pilot and used to be a line tech. Archer is claiming to have their Midnight aircraft fully certified by 2025, but that seems insane to me. Especially when something like the Vision took a decade to certify. But, they are planning on starting operations in Japan and the UAE so I'm pretty bullish despite my concerns over remaining FAA hurdles They do have their part 135 already approved, which I believe includes pilot certifications.. I'm pretty sure that means they have pilots ready for work. I'm not 100% sure so correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not super familiar with part 135, but back when I worked for an FBO/school we tried getting our 135 for a small charter using SR-22Ts, and I remember that included a few check rides with the pilot we wanted to actually work those flights. I say we like I did anything more than refuel their planes back then lol. I'm super curious how you think these craft will change existing traffic patterns. Imo they'll operate similar to helicopters, but honestly I have no idea

Like others have said, find a challenge and be a bit more conservative. You don’t know me from some other shit talker and may never see this, but this is the advice I’d give a friend and have given to family. * investments: 50-60% in a good index fund. Doesn’t matter if it is SPY (measure the dividends being disbursed as part of your return), VTI or QQQ. This is your long term plan. You’re young and even though I think a market correction is coming, this is your foundation. 2-3 good companies (solid large cap like MSFT or AAPL) that you believe in. Then 10-15% in good FU money you don’t mind losing like GME, keeps life interesting. And cash. * finances. Low interest CCs and don’t buy a new car unless you can pay cash. financing anything that is not a non-recourse is stupid, so finance a house and thats it. if youre buying a plane, SR22 but pay cash. * fields. AI is hot but dont feel you need to invest. get the skills (cuz you are probably into computers) in areas like Python (3 books out there from oreilly, one thick and two on LLM). I talked to MSFT yesterday and the Gemini folks on Monday. today I am talking to Meta. Everyone is investing heavily into this area, and I know two startups in the Sand Hill (Palo Alto VC world) who are trying from a workers/hr area, and stock investment going through things like 10Ks * personal: fix your own shit. Nothing feels as good as doing something with your hands and either saving yourself $$$ or making yourself better (eg fitness). Paint a wall, change your toilet seat, rotate your tires, build a cat house, climb a hill. do something with your hands and feet. * travel. it is a big world out there and youll meet all kinds of people, seeing how well you have it compared to them. puts things into perspective. got back from Turkey (Haggia Sophia) as a tourist two weekd back and you learn to see what they appreciate vs what BS we think is important here. You don't know me for shit, but I will tell you that the above dug my ass out of more than $40K in CC debt, no home and sleeping in a garage to a wife who is >25 years younger, two homes, $380K cash reserves (plus investments) and buying a new Tesla (2022 MS) and 4Runner (2024 ORP) with cash. Nothing is as sweet as looking back at the people who said you werent capable or going to be accomplished, and realizing how wrong they are. fucking mobile. csnt typenworth shit.
