Any updates on OGN? Which other alts are you staking? There are numerous ways to profit from staking, and a couple of the assets that I'm staking are XPRESS and HPS. I received 20% for HPS and more than 50% APY for xpress. I have other alts like HBAR and CSPR that I want to keep for long term.

$8K is too low of a drop for bitcoin, but everything is possible. I'll keep an eye on it, and if that occurs, I'll build up low caps that will survive in the long run. Just a few of the assets to acquire are FWT, HPS, and REI.

Many examples, one being ballast lighting (HPS and/or MH)... think of all the parking lots that stay lit when nobody using at night. In ref to your main point, I agree... It's funny because the idiots I work with bash BTC energy usage despite us being one of the largest networking companies with multiple (mostly empty) buildings where entire floors are consumed with lab gear that probably is getting 1-2% actual usage.

Growing is very simple indoors if you have a small closet you can setup, or downstairs basement. Todays fulls spectrum LEDs are incredibly cool running compared to conventional HPS lights and don’t have to cost that much to grow your food. Get a light timer, a small fan and a dehumidifier is all that you will reasonably need to become God and create life in your home. Kales, peppers, tomatoes, if you have the space and good soil/ with good pest management system (peppermint oil, lemongrass oil, geranium oil) combined for spray to keep bugs out you should be a green thumb in no time. Yeah, doesn't it also apply to PoW? I mean you get 1 HPS=1 vote. And obviously hash per second is the money you are investing. I think the big difference here is about who holds the power/money. Bitcoin is old enough to have a decentralized group of people having the power. These smaller chains are just too easy for whales to get their hands on and manipulate.

Yea and even aside from legality, just the logistics of a serious grow can be pretty rough and super expensive in some places. Where Im at now we can pop to the store for some HPS bulbs or bovedas seven days a week, but if I move to the jungle I might compromise for some indigenous outdoor lol.

Which would make sense. As from the stats I posted led is 13% more efficient than HPS. Sounds like you're close to the money if not a bit ahead of the curve. Agreed led is over hyped in some places, but the maths don't lie and assuming decent quality 13% efficiency gain for same cough 'output' is what you should expect. As a freebie get yourself EC fans if you have not already. Big energy savings here possible too bud

I'm assuming u mean the quantum boards by hlg? They make other types lights too though. And you milage on heat differences will be based on a lot more than the lights efficiency in reality. Ventilation, both in the room and the area outside it, other heat producing items in the room- fans, pumps, humid/dehumid ect, even assuming your hsp draw was exactly your LEDs draw. The stats don't change though. Led is more efficient at converting power to light. There is less heat lost in the process Vs HPS. It's why leds are the go to in almost every use case these days. So in reality nearly every appliance, manufacturer and industry is moving to led for a very good reason. Just sayin

Like I said the efficiency aspect comes from more usable light... in reality 500w of LED is = to 600w HPS. Not nearly as huge of a difference as these companies claim

600 Watts = 2046 BTUs and there’s no way around it. With heat skins the heat may radiate a bit slower.... 600w of LED is not cooler than 600w HPS. It’s just physics.

As great as the things that HPB offers are (high TPS, truly random number generator etc), if no one uses the chain then it will ultimately fail. Seems like it would need to incentivise people to build DAPPs on it, or launch some kind of DAPP that wouldn’t be possible on Ethereum that becomes successful in its own right. That would draw new people to look at the technology and potentially migrate DAPPs from other chains or build purely on HPB. Other blockchains have similar TPS targets with smart contracts but are also worth a lot less than EOS etc because of this same issue. It’d be great to see a game made, for example, that uses the HRNG and does all actions directly on chain that’s fun to play and could really showcase why a blockchains like HPS could be better to use for this than other more well known ones.
