I'm still staking within the Cosmos ecosystem i.e. SCRT, XPRT, JUNO, OSMO, and ATOM to get those juicy airdrops in the future -- plus, means I'm gaining tokens for the next year or two through this bear market however long it lasts
AKT is one I'm still grasping the full ambitions of. Their tag line is a decentralized cloud, so what they're trying to do is create a distributed network of virtual servers and processing units. Doing this sounds weird until you look into how horrendously centralized most data centers/servers are in terms of infrastructure as AWS and Azure make for easy deployments for websites, programs, and apps. Even if we're trying to create a decentralized distributed ledger, it doesn't really live up to our goals if all the dApps are hosted on AWS East and 2 datacenters losing power knocks out all our usage outside basic trading. Having centralized entities host large portions of our decentralized network also has less accidental threat risk to blockchains and networks as they man not "own" the servers and validators for a network, but they're physically just down the hall. Centralized hardware and deployment isn't simply risky but decentralized and virtualized offerings have perks like a great degree of customization, easy enclaves for things like global testnets, or just doing your own thing. The tokenomics aren't the best, and it's still in sorta early phases but the team is consistently putting in work and building out an incredibly ambitious and novel project like Helium and Sentinel that's more of a solution to a problem with a coin attached rather than a coin looking for a problem to solve. I also like to bet on people smarter than me. XPRT is focused on becoming the go to application for liquid staking in Cosmos. These types of protocols on other chains are still pretty new like Lido or Marinade, and Persistence has been around for quite some time and building out a range of assets while the market is just starting to explore this idea and use cases. I'm hyped for DeFi and liquid staking so they were basically the third project I looked into after finding ATOM and OSMO. They've got integrations with Sifchain right now for things like pATOM and are starting to seriously roll out their infrastructure for liquid staking for all Cosmos SDK coins. As bridges and omni-dexs become more prevalent, I see demand for liquid staking assets working like demand for borrowing and lending protocols like AAVE where people want to be able to utilize an asset they want to retain ownership of and earn yield on. This will make a liquid staked asset more valuable from a yield perspective than being able to maintain tokens across chains. As more networks transition to PoS and DeFi utilization of liquid staked assets increases this will provide far more freedom to those who want to use liquid staking and I think XPRT has a decent case to dominate this for the Cosmos ecosystem. Somehow pSTAKE is a part of this that I still need to research through.
Agoric's BLD and Axelars AXL still aren't on any sort of exchange and are only open to early investors as far as I'm aware, and I'm quite interested in both. I'm also just starting to build positions in XPRT, AKT, and DVPN so I guess those don't count but they got me. I also am interested in pSTAKE and REGEN but am undecided as to whether I want any, I don't understand their use well enough.
Oh most definitely bullish XPRT but I’m not sure about pstake and am very much salty over them going stkATOM > webATOM > bATOM big FU to IBC and imo a short sightedness to the future of Anchor but meh not a project I’m really invested in more just a user so what do I know? Certainly isn’t going to get as much ATOM out of me as it could if it would just take pstake ATOM with an IBC channel
Out of the blue chips, I'd say Algorand (upcoming state proofs) and ATOM (shared security). My moonshot is Radix (XRD) due to the upcoming smart contract launch and the seemingly innovative novel Scrypto coding language they use for faster dApp development. I also have a couple of smaller bags in JUNO and Persistence (XPRT) that are both upcoming layer 1 networks in the Cosmos ecosystem.
I follow cosmos airdrops on twitter - the Cosmos twitter community will generally mention when a new airdrop launches. To maximise your airdrop potential, stake at least 20 ATOM, 20 OSMO, 20 JUNO, and provide liquidity in the ATOM/OSMO pool. Some tokens are also dropped to XPRT and SCRT stakers.
I can't stand $XPRT Persistence sometimes, yea they are bad ass software dev's but i keep getting the shaft on their aridrops. last time $CMDX from some way back machine date.. this time 10 stkATOMs i have stranded on an island on eth mainnet since Sept. gaining 7% APR that i can't claim, is not enough its the lack of recognition i've had that there since March 2021!
Osmo too :D this ecosystem is hard cause I don’t like over diversifying (although Juno/Atom/Osmo are definitely the essential three ), but there are just so many golden projects left and right 😬😬 want to ape into XPRT and CMDX next
Have been an atom staker for 8 months now. My fav comos Projects would be Persistance. JUNO, Terra Luna (yes its built on cosmos SDK), and Osmosis. Luna and OSMO has seen good price gain. Expecting similar moves from JUNO and XPRT. March Cosmos upgrade might be the catalyst that drives ATOM to top 10
No, SCRT is a layer one network, you can build smart contracts on it with built-in privacy features. It's really cool. XMR is more transactional than anything. Cosmos SDK allows separate blockchains to be built on it e.g. XPRT, JUNO, SCRT, etc, that can act independently but interoperably. It's very cool tech :)
Cosmos as an ecosystem is going to be huge. Some new layer ones (made on Cosmos SDK) like Juno (completely community driven) and Persistence (XPRT) with its strong institutional product portfolio will do well. Layer ones will be profitable but Layer 0’s like Cosmos and Polkadot will be the things that bring them together.
They are both in the interoperability space but I think DOT is overhyped and overpriced at the moment for not having a working product yet and their parachains provide less independence for the blockchains. With that being said, I do think they are a solid project and I know para chain auctions are happening now, but in that time COSMOS got their IBC built and growing. TERRA, CRO, IRIS, XPRT, AKT, and 13 other blockchains are already connected to the IBC. There are also multiple DEXes built and working on COSMOS like Gravity DEX, OSMOSIS DEX, and SifChain. OSMOSIS already has $672M TVL and is growing as more chains connect to the IBC. SifChain has $36M TVL. There are also 1.2 million IBC transactions per month and growing.
Oh and since you're already deep in Cosmos I advise looking into XPRT's airdrops. It seems like they're doing a series of them over various staking blockchains, some non-Cosmos and they just recently did an airdrop of pStake for Atom stakers with more than 100 ATOM staked.
Don't believe so. I think SCRT and LUNA are still in the process of hooking up to IBC so they weren't available when Sifchain started this idea. I think XPRT, EROWAN, ATOM, REGEN, AKT, and IRIS are the main participants.
What is the LTV ratio for liquid staking? Will Liquid Staking be available for all IBC enabled chains? What will XPRT token be used for with respect to Liquid Staking? Thanks! Love the Cosmos ecosystem. Definitely picking up community and social media efforts in the past month!
