Yes I would certainly do it. Maybe you could do a put on a fund. Nvda would be a good bet but that could still go on but some of the services further on could go kaput. Global X Artificial Intelligence & Technology ETF (AIQ): A passive fund that tracks an index of global companies across the AI value chain, known for broad diversification. More information is available on the Global X ETFs website. TCW Artificial Intelligence ETF (AIFD): An actively managed fund that selects 30 to 50 global companies believed to benefit from the AI transformation. ROBO Global Artificial Intelligence ETF (ROBO): Focuses on companies with businesses related to the evolution of AI and big data analytics. iShares Future AI & Tech ETF (ARTY): Seeks to track an index of U.S. and non-U.S. companies contributing to AI technologies, including generative AI and infrastructure. ARK Autonomous Technology & Robotics ETF (ARKQ): An actively managed fund focusing on autonomous technology, robotics, and other disruptive innovations.

oh that bastard... 😜 risky assets getting whipped by shorts & sentiment. this month for some other de-spacs... NKLR -50%, IMSR -60%, PEW -30%, BULL-25%, IONQ -25%, OKLO -40%. KDK PIPE & largest diluted shareholder is Alyeska ($30b~ AUM). Their preferreds convert @ $12, but pricing protection at 6/9 months intervals can reprice it to $8/$6. The other PIPE is Soros, with 10mm~ shares, and ARKQ is holding over a million shares. I think they're all currently down. Prospectus was recently amended & made effective, allowing a lot of dilution + selling, but trading volume hasn't increased beyond algos trading back/forth, running stock price down. Later today we'll see new short-interest numbers. Currently still almost no shares available to borrow, and 40%~ borrow rate. Shorts need a few million shares to get dumped from this recent registration, or they'll have no easy way out. Especially once ETFs start buying. I still like the play longer-term.

Mark my words, tesla will be the biggest company in the world in another 7-10 years… theres no competition to them in self driving, automation and robotics. The first company to bring level 4 driving cars is going to be a double digit trillion dollar company. Buy ARKQ (automation and robotics fund)

Aurora is still trading at $8b~ valuation, and no revenue. Plus AI failed to SPAC years ago because of Chinese ownership, and are SPAC'ing now via CCIX (China operations spun off). Amazon still owns warrants in them, that were implying a $2b valuation (years ago). Businesses are pivoting to automation. KDK at $1.5b~ valuation is a reasonable bet. Institutions are also betting. Soros owns 10mm~ shares of KDK, and is also an investor in others (Einride, Pony AI). ARKQ also owns millions of shares of Aurora, Pony AI, and KDK. Peter Lynch said he'd rather bet on autonomous trucking, than AI, and I agree. Better to compare hyped SPACs from 2021+, with hyped SPACs today. Crypto, quantum, nuclear, etc. As a side note, I think the military applications are very interesting, though I'm not sure if the DoD will continue its RCV program https://kodiak.ai/news/kodiak-and-textron-unveil-autonomous-ripsaw-m3

Rough ride in these speculative SPACs, with all the shorts. Regarding KDK, Schwab now has 15k shares available to borrow (for shorting), and IBKR has 10k shares. Free float is about 5mm, but a lot of that is probably held by longs now; ARKQ might have about 800k of it. Institutions can't even go long here with sizable amounts, because the shares just aren't available (yet). That huge redemption was a blessing.

I'll add that ARKQ is currently holding about $1.3b in assets, so whatever she spent today is near nothing. She's doing a great job letting shorts & other dumb money sell her cheap shares. If it trades lower over the next few weeks, whoever got those free warrants -- possibly her -- will greatly benefit from being able to exercise at a lower price. Ofc I have no idea what happens in the future, but I still really like this long term. If I can buy more warrants next week for cheaper, that's great too.

Cathie & Soros are likely the majority of pipe, and they're long holders. ARKQ is robotics/ai theme, and has other autonomous stocks (Aurora, Pony AI). Looks like Soros is also long Pony AI. What makes you say it's not a long term investment for them...? Buying almost half the trading volume is indeed significant. And no, warrants didn't really drop today. If they drop some next week, I'll buy more.

Hey bud, welcome to the world of investing! There *are* a few ETFs out there that have exposure to quantum computing, but nothing super focused just on that niche yet. You might want to check out something like ARKQ or QTUM, they touch on next-gen tech including quantum, AI, robotics and such. That said, quantum is still pretty early stage. If you're thinking long-term, it's smart to mix in broader ETFs like you’re already doing with the S&P500. I’m also holding a bit of **VTI** and some Canadian flavour with **XIC** and **ZEB**. Keeps things diversified while I let my value picks cook in the background. Hope your portfolio grows like a weed, eh!

May I ask why you’d stay away from ARKK and ARKQ? I have some ARKW that I’ve owned for awhile.

r/investingSee Comment

International stocks are still less correlated to the US market than small/mid cap U.S. stocks. So if you wanted more diversification, you'd shift some of that percentage to VXUS. And if you REALLY wanted more diversification, you'd be looking into small cap value international stocks and emerging markets. US small cap value stocks will also have a slightly lower correlation to the market than small cap blend. 5% ARKK/ARKQ is not going to move the needle very much, and that's probably a good thing, because I would not touch those ETFs with a 10 foot pole. I'd limit it to 5-10% if that is going to prevent you from getting FOMO. That would be the "cowboy" portion of my portfolio. Overall it looks fine for a very aggressive portfolio. You just have to be able to stick with it for decades and rebalance maybe once or twice a year.

That is good news, then. :) It is probably only good as an acquisition candidate, but not as an investment. There is ARKQ (Autonomous Technology & Robotics ETF) that diversifies into different companies in this sphere instead of just one. It is probably a safer bet. However, I bought IOT (Samsara) in April 2024 and might also buy ZBRA (Zebra Technologies). These companies are in this sphere too and have better outlooks. You can do your research into those two, though.

Based on the closing price of $54.47 on the same day, the estimated value of this trade is approximately $1.02 million. I am 65 and have invested my whole life. I would tend to avoid stocks initially and focus on ETF's in industries that are forecast to have outsize growth for the foreseeable future. I think a few of these would generative AI (AIQ), Robotics (BOTZ & ARKQ), Biotech (XBI) and Healthcare (XLV). While many people become instant millionaires picking the right stock at exactly the right time, most lose everything trying. Specific stocks are always susceptible to market news with huge drops and spikes. ETF's act a smoothing mechanism via diversification. If you are looking to trade the market ***and win***, you will need to understand monetary policy, political and geopolitical influences, market making mechanics, fundamental, technical and trend analysis, market correlations (ex. strong dollar = weak stock market), futures, options and the option greeks, trading platforms, market information websites such as Tradingview, Finviz and [investing.com](https://investing.com) and also how to read an income statement, balance sheet, 10Q Quarterly Reports.

It was a good year but I don’t think I can keep that up long term. I, too, am going to rotate most of my growth stocks into solid funds (like the ones mentioned above, and ARKK/ARKQ). Also sitting on a decent cash positions in money markets, HYSA, and CDs which I’ll probably start rotating as well. Best of luck!

I will tell you a great TSLA story. I know the guy but not personally or friends. Years ago when TSLA went IPO this guy bought thousands of shares. I cannot remember the amount exactly. During the pandemic at near peak value of TSLA he said I had a great run and need to lighten up on TSLA. I think he said he was to liquidate all and invest with this great money manager. ALL in that is on her funds. His TSLA holdings worth 10 million in 12/2020. These are the funds he bought. 2 million bucks per fund. ARKG - +427% in last 5 years ARKF - +153% in last 5 years ARKW - +553% in last 5 years ARKK - +551% in last 5 years ARKQ - +305% in last 5 years They call that Schadenfreude. However this guy is a big player. I mean mega. Multi millions in cars, real estate etc. He can handle the financial sting. But everyone thought his as a stock picking genius. What it was it, luck, and the ability to handle the losses if that TSLA sotck he originally bought went to zero. He didnt see a single share until 2020. He bought all those funds at all time highs and all destroyed. I assume he still holds them. He is not the kind of guy to give up. Even worse there is do much overlap in that hot dung that if one of them worked out, most likely they all would.

ARKQ is managed by a religious investor with a bad track record in previous funds. FOCPX seems bad but I would probably just reduce it's size if you really want to keep it at most 10%.

Sell it all, just buy nvidia puts and you'll be back where you started in no time. Or calls, I don't know. Cathy Wood tried to and still desperately trying to rise to the legendary status where one's statements become sell fullfing prophecies. Thats why she keeps saying shit like TSLA@1030. Look at the stocks that make up ARKQ and ask yourself, why would you buy them now. If you dont have a solid answer, ditch it. She had it going, just like people had it going at the dotcom bubble, but her ship has already sailed.

Other than FAANG, I snapped up some ARKQ, Palantir(PLTR), and GSI Tech(GSIT). I also grabbed a little of each of the following BOTZ, AIQ, ROBT, XT, and AITQ. I've been in this latter group for about a month and have averaged about a 10% gain on each. The first group I've only been in for about two weeks and have done much better. I consider these all to be long-term. I really think Palantir has the potential to blow up. I've also been holding FAANG for years now.

r/investingSee Comment

Do not sell now. IF we are at a general stock low, and disaster is NOT dead ahead, its probably near its lows and it will move back up with the markets. That 12.5% TSLA killed it last several months. I sold a bunch of SMH at the top, but after that it declined so fast that I just knuckled down and held the rest all the way past my break even to about 8% down and doubled down at the bottom and now its looking pretty bright with the seemingly sudden rise of AI. With ARKQ, if TSLA is at its' bottom then ARKQ probably is too.

r/investingSee Comment

Maybe unpopular opinion but I think outlook for ARKQ is quite decent. Especially as you don't need the money for a long time I'd keep at least some of it in there. Sometimes you have to be willing to buy (or hold) when things look the worst, or you'll end up selling bottoms. ARKQ is the best of all of the ARK funds, IMO.

Genuine advice: sell it and buy an index fund. If you wish to be overexposed to a specific sector, buy the index for that sector like QQQ. Can a great team of active investors sometimes outperform the index? Yes, but it does not appear they can usually do it consistently over a long time. More importantly, please look at ARKK and ARKQ's fund holdings. Do you truly believe in these companies? If you have to buy stocks, would you pick them? I used to hold some ARKK during the pandemic boom years and luckily sold when the fund first started to fall in value. What got me to sold was that I did not believe in many of the holdings. An example like Roku: Terrible company that will probably someday go bankrupt as the world shifts to Google/Samsung/Apple with their own TV operating system. If you want to yolo some money on the side, take 90% of your money and buy an index fund. Take 10% and pick whatever fun stuff you want to do. Trim this and do not over-expose yourself for risk that you cannot tolerate. You will read every day on Wallstreetbets of someone who yoloed a bunch of money and got rich quick. You will also read stories of heartache and loss on that same forum. I choose slow, steady, and high probability of success.

The pain you feel is irrelevant. The only question you need to ask yourself is do you see ARKQ going up or ARKQ going down in the future. If you think it’s going up then hold (and probably buy more). If you think it’s going down then sell now.

Right now it's in vogue to make fun of Cathie Wood but people are just trend followers so try to ignore the noise. Since inception ARKQ has returned 12%, unfortunately you didn't buy then lol. It's just been a bumpy ride getting that 12%. I am not on the hate Cathie Wood train, its important to understand who she is and who she isn't. TLDR she is the daughter of an engineer and has a very good grasp of new technology, has managed funds in the past and produced returns for her clients. People labeling her a Charlatan are following price movements. She will not closet index, and doesn't manage stock volatility at all. She has shown in previous funds before ARK she just doesn't care and can stomach more risk than clients can. Just know that if you invest with her. I would not sell ARKQ, when risk appetite comes back so will her holdings. The higher beta of her holdings work both ways. I'd suggest adding new money to your account and buy SPY/VOO. If you're going to index, just buy the S&P500. I don't think index ETF's can outperform SPY/VOO because as soon as a factor outperforms everyone piles into it. Just buy the market to dampen your portfolio volatility

You could put it into QQQ which is still down about 11% from it’s high, and you would be invested into much better automation based companies compared to ARKQ.

its called anchoring. if you had the value in cash today, would you invest in ARKQ? if not, sell and move along. take ARKQ off any watch list. because it might skyrocket again and you will feel mounds of regret needlessly .

I guessing you would not buy ARKQ with the amount you have invested now. If that is indeed the case why would you keep on holding it? Every day you decide to hold is equivalent to buying the whole stack again every day. Apart from transaction costs of course. So the most logical thing to do would be to just pull the bandage off in one go and sell your ARKQ holdings. If you cannot stand the thought of ARKQ spiking after you sell, you could always do a reverse DCA. Just sell equal portions of ARKQ over a set period. This would lessen the hurt somewhat if ARKQ starts climbing. Mind you, in this scenario you will still be exposed to further (but less) hurt if ARKQ takes a nosedive.

NVDA is the 7th largest position (4.4%) in ARKQ. But I’m sure she’ll still rot in hell surrounded by her .75% management fees. https://ark-funds.com/funds/arkq/

I've had this happen with multiple stocks, and I've regretted not selling every time. It happened with NKLA. I'd planned on holding onto it for years thinking they *might* come up with something in a few years. Shortly after I bought I looked into how exactly hydrogen fuel cells worked and suddenly I was regretting my decision to buy (I know, I should have understood the tech *before* buying in). Nevertheless, it doubled in price right after IPO anyway, and I immediately sold-regret nothing. It happened with MVIS. Same story, thought they might make some groundbreaking improvements in self-driving optics hardware in a few years. Shortly after I bought it they got into the news, price jumped 50+% IIRC, and immediately sold knowing there was no way I'd get similar returns long term even if their tech does pan out. Zero regerts. It happened with VWAGY. I thought for sure they were going to have a strong position being one of the first to go electric. At one point I was up 60%, but when I wasn't paying attention they apparently lost a lot of value and the next thing I knew I was cashing out at only around 10-13% ROI. Many regrets. It happened with two of the ARK ETFs (ARKQ and ARKK IIRC). I think I was up about 50% at one point, thinking they were a long term play. Nope, their inordinate share of TSLA holdings fucked me on that one, and again, I wish I'd sold when I saw I'd made huge gains. I'm starting to think I should have sold URI when I had the chance, too. I was up like 30-40%, no it's only about 17%. There is but one rule in trading: buy low, sell high. If you aren't selling when stocks are high you're doing it wrong. And if your investing is meant for retirement, and you don't plan on diligently watching your stocks every day until the day you die, you should probably just use an ETF and let the experts do it for you.

That John Deere contract with Matterport is a big deal. https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2023/01/26/2596094/0/en/Matterport-to-Provide-Digital-Twin-Platform-for-John-Deere-s-Worldwide-Operations.html Makes sense now for Cathie to be holding the set of tickers, as we all laughed about that John Deere keeping that one ARKX space fund afloat. The matterport seems to be in ARKQ. Anyway just an interesting deal. Matterport being so beat down and all.

I sold the last of my Tesla shares nearly a year ago, but unfortunately was still holding the bag with some ARKQ shares I had from like mid2020. I wasn't even paying attention to them because they'd consistently made me money from the moment I bought them. But I forgot like 40% of the ARK ETFs are in TSLA, and I didn't notice the plunge until I was only like 10% up. And before I knew it I was in the red. Stupid me should have sold as soon as I noticed I hadn't gained like 80% from them anymore. I lost less than $100 overall, but I'll probably still be salty about that for years to come.

If you’re interested in smaller companies with a lot of room to grow, outside of the big established and diversified players like GOOG and MSFT, take a look at the holdings of thematic AI ETFs like LRNZ, BOTZ, and ARKQ. There are probably a few others, but between those three you’ll get a good idea of just about every publicly listed growth-focused company with some stake in emerging AI tech.

Why do they need a succession plan? They’re hemorrhaging money, in another year or two they won’t even be a company. she’s like somebody who thinks because they had a hot weekend at the craps table they have a system that works for beating the game. I mean it would be nearly impossible to perform as poorly as all of her funds have. It’s very entertaining to just look at the 52 week high versus the current price.
