Why is there such a big disconnect between MOVE and VIX currently? Typically throughout history they moved together.
If Scottie B could print money, we would be there already. Look at USDJPY and gov desperation. The same thing was tried on INR (Indian Rupee), and ultimately failed (flight to the least shitty currency aka USD). Look at MOVE index, 130-140 is intervention zone. Never in financial history government won against the free market. Something has to break enough to give convenient excuse for printing. Of course, it won't be called easing or anything similar because it has negative connotations. I can't tell you when, but it's coming, there's no other way. Position accordingly. PS buying protection when we are at the backend if the greatest bull market in human history isn't a bad idea, imo, nfa, dyor, yada yada, etc.

This is legitimately the worst market in the entire history of the world. You can buy ATM index options and they just DONT MOVE for minutes at a time. It moves based on 15-minute event contracts now. When in the past have you ever seen BTC/USD on any chart NOT MOVE for more than a few seconds? As it approaches every 15min mark it gets eerily flat and quiet for 3-5mins before absolutely going batshit crazy in a direction right after they settle. Check the halfway points. 12:00 - 12:15 contracts will spike/reverse at 12:07/12:08. 12:15 - 12:30 contracts will do the same at 12:22/12:23. Fucking clockwork, man.
