Not a meme coin, but the KIN token is the origin of the "Only Possible On Solana" slogan. It's the "digital paper cash" of the open source Code project, Solana's first (and only) Layer 2 for instant, free, private P2P payments and micropayments. Currently at about $56m market cap and pretty under the radar despite being constantly praised for its tech by the Solana founder himself. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/mPiTWoyfe3M

You sure you're looking at the right app? Nothing I saw ever made me think it looked "like a high schooler's first iOS project" Now I don't have an iphone so I can't check for myself, but [the demos look very sleek](https://twitter.com/getcode/status/1682863889787293696) ([another demo](https://twitter.com/ted_livingston/status/1731283894836633979)) and you're the first person I've seen with any complaints. That being said your only complaints are the lack of an ancillary feature and typos, so maybe other people just weren't as critical as you and were focusing on the core use case of the app, rather than superficial and/or missing things. Also not sure why you'd hold it against them for not having a fiat on-ramp, it's a pretty new project and on-ramping isn't the main use case. And KIN is the crypto that was launched by the messaging service Kik, it was it's own L1 and was pretty popular back in 2017-18 and [in 2020 they migrated to Solana](https://medium.com/kinblog/kin-migration-details-for-token-holders-d834696bc2e6). Oh you have to qualify it by date now? That's quite the goalposts, I would say Solana is in it's infancy just as bitcoin was when this happened, but you seem to only want to talk about one and exclude this by date because of ? - [https://decrypt.co/39750/184-billion-bitcoin-anonymous-creator/](https://decrypt.co/39750/184-billion-bitcoin-anonymous-creator/) \- but overall you're simply neglecting to mention that all validator software has bugs and all see code improvements to fix these bugs - see [https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Common\_Vulnerabilities\_and\_Exposures](https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Common_Vulnerabilities_and_Exposures) If you think that for one, bitcoin, eth and Solana can't all survive and thrive, than I think you're mistaken. I don't think bitcoin "won" over eth or eth "won" over Solana. Completely different use cases, potential for global adoption and usage, and technology. It really seems like you have a close-minded view, but I invest in btc too so I'm not mad at your maximalist tendencies. I agree about stablecoins and I like the looks of KIN, which is one of the most decentralized tokens in the world, with the best tech and usability surrounding it (created by team who made Kik messenger) But as someone who works with businesses adopting blockchain payments, I think stablecoins are wanted and needed. None of the businesses I work with want eth or btc or sol. They want USDC they can ACH to their bank everyday.

KIN was the first coin sued by the SEC for being a security. They settled for a big fine. They had a bunch of internal leaves and they ended up leaving ETH and migrating to Solana. Not much going on currently but they did pump a bit because of XRP lawsuit's apparent "sucess" battling SEC

Yes. They have projects like KIN, Helium and Render migrating over to it from Ethereum for its transaction speed and low fees.

KIN was created by the same people behind the Kik Messenger app (Billion dollar chat app w/~300 million users) It was widely expected to be a top contending token when it was released in 2017, and they had a bunch of angel investors behind the release. Unfortunately, they were plagued with SEC related security issues. It took many years for the final SEC resolution, just like with Ripple. However, that's now behind them. Now that the controlling team behind KIN, The KIN Foundation, completed this ~71% burn, and have dismantled themselves, literally no one can be in charge of how KIN can be used anymore, it has the potential to be a truly decentralized useful token... for, well... anything really.

tldr; The Kin Foundation has closed a vote to burn a large portion of its reserves, totaling 7.06 trillion KIN tokens, in order to fully decentralize the Kin protocol. This proposal, put forward by Ted Livingston, the founder of messaging platform Kik, aims to make Kin the only meaningful cryptocurrency on Solana that is fully decentralized. The burn of trillions of KIN tokens is seen as necessary for the future of the protocol and will make Kin one of the fastest cryptocurrencies for developers to build with and one of the safest from a regulatory perspective. The KIN token saw a notable increase in price leading up to the burn vote deadline. *This summary is auto generated by a bot and not meant to replace reading the original article. As always, DYOR.*

Ive missed the opportunity to cash some big bucks a while ago and now I’m down 80% but recently is has made its highest price in over a year(!) and so much more room to grow. Not on any big exchanges yet but from what I hear on the telegram that’s only a matter of months so I’m very hopeful. But other that that, I’m not taking much risks any more. tldr; Code Inc., the team behind the Kik messaging app, is launching its Solana-based "Code" crypto wallet. The wallet is built around the cryptocurrency KIN, which started on Ethereum but is now on Solana. Code's CEO, Ted Livingston, sees KIN's regulatory clearance as an advantage and believes it is better suited for adoption as a payment method. The wallet's core feature is the ability to instantly send crypto by scanning a QR code. Code has built a layer 2 network on top of Solana to ensure transactions continue even when the blockchain goes down. The success of KIN as a payment method will determine Code's success. KIN has a volatile history but is currently experiencing price surges. The Code wallet will be available on iOS and Android. *This summary is auto generated by a bot and not meant to replace reading the original article. As always, DYOR.*

r/CryptoCurrencySee Comment

TLDR; “Code’s CEO is Ted Livingston, the former CEO of messaging app Kik. Before leaving Kik, he launched KIN as a way to help monetize the platform – raising $100 million in a high-profile 2017 initial coin offering (ICO) before the token was labeled a security by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Kik Interactive Inc. paid out a $5 million fine to the SEC, and the Kik messaging app – now under new ownership – is no longer associated with the KIN project. In an interview with CoinDesk, Livington spun KIN’s regulatory baggage as a positive: "KIN is the only token that's on Solana that has no inflation that's been through the SEC gauntlet." The idea is that it has been given a green-light for trading in the U.S., and is, in Livingston’s view, better suited for adoption as a payment method than similar virtual currencies that have yet to get regulatory clearance. “ Well after they’ve paid 5% of their raised funds to the SEC, they are hoping to pioneer a new wallet that is as simple and final as handing a dollar from one person to another

People bought and hold Billions. 275 Billion were on FTX when it folded. I took a hard look at my financial needs and made a decision based on what I actually could use and would need. I bought the amount that corresponded to a real world figure of significance and utility to me. Discounted that figure 4 times and came up with a rational number to acquire. I did not go beyond that amount. I have talked to a few people in the last 90 days and counselled them to do the same. Reallocate and re-assess. Some probably did. Most did not their number or needs far exceeded my own appetite for risk. I had some fun. This is a life lesson about greed and human nature. Sam Bankman Fried and Ted Livingston are cut from the same cloth. Both are grifters and scam artists at heart. Captain Jack Sparrow and Ted Livingston share the same creedo..''Take as much as you can- Give Nothing back''. I want KIN to hang around his neck like an Albatross and the stench permeate and rot through his whole existence. So when people think of him they immediately thing Scammer or Grifter or Con Artist. All thats left is for a COURT to render that verdict. I have no doubt that we will all live to see that.

I like the simplicity, it is good for growth and reaching out of crypto. saved you a click >PIP, a web3 service provider to traditional platforms, has achieved 10 out of 14 features in its 2nd quarter 2022 roadmap. Following the launch of its social tokens, the web3 platform has only four features left to introduce this 2nd quarter, namely PIP.ME social integrations, BSC integration, BNB Support, and BUSD Support. Later this year, PIP will launch its LinkedIn and GitHub integrations and token swaps features. To the uninitiated, PIP is a service that integrates web3 functionalities into legacy social platforms. Through PIP, users of services that can be integrated with cryptocurrencies can buy and sell NFTs and receive cryptocurrency tips. Interestingly, the platform can simply be installed as a free browser extension. Users can just connect their phantom wallets to PIP and then integrate their social media accounts like Twitter (NYSE:TWTR) and Twitch. According to information provided to CQ, now “PIP Button” can be integrated into the websites of content creators and service owners. This extension will allow their respective platforms to generate extra revenue streams. Notably, the service employs a no-coding payment button that aids any user to integrate blockchain payment systems to monetize their content even without coding knowledge. The feature requires no signups and account registrations. Content creators can just select a currency, customize the button, and embed the button on any of their websites. The PIP button currently supports Solana (SOL) for transactions, including trading pairs with USDC, PIP, SERUM, RAY, KIN, and ORCA, among others.

KIN is one of the projects I made money on. I entered during the SEC trial and it pumped hard afterwards. I don't hold it anymore because exchanges are reluctant to list it given the history. The team also seems to be slowly disbanding.

Why use pawn when something like KIN would reward you for developing and user engagement through the KRE (kin rewards engine) already SEC approved also if you need to break into the US market.
