I disagree. Everyone's situation is different. 1M in retirement does not seem like enough. At least not if you're in a HCOL or VHCOL area expect to live to 80+ and all the health issues that come with it. Plus do you want to enjoy your retirement? Most contractors don't know how to install aluminum wire which is also an issue. They are supposed to use higher torque terminations/compression lugs. But yes for home wiring I don't see AL wire being used. “I have been told that the DEA is drafting this rule and moving it ASAP” I agree this means they are doing the heavy lifting (which could be argued was already done pre ALJ hearing by the dea), but I read this as they will aslo be the ones signing off on the final rule (since they are drafting it). But I do know your position is we are lightyears away from final rule and additional steps (like hiring AL judge is needed). Anyways, I hope we are both wrong and that DOJ will make the final rule over the next few weeks :)
