Hey man as much as I love to make fun of people for losing money, suicide is never the answer, especially to monetary losses. You gotta call it quits with trading…atleast for awhile. Focus on ur mental health & do what you can to save up some money & try to settle ur losses. If you wanna get back into trading tho because there are ways to recover your losses, even something as crazy as yours. I’m currently tryna recover -$20k rn, (ik it’s nowhere near as bad as yours but it still sucks). Go on a demo, learn a strategy that you can stay consistent on, if you start showing positive results start looking into prop firm challenges, start with small accounts & then scale ur profits & invest into bigger accounts to the point where you have a large sum of capital and can start paying off whatever debts you owe..not saying this will work but it’s better than gambling options & then deleting yourself after, But fr bro think of the people you care about & those who care for you & imagine the pain they would go through if you were to commit suicide. Oh I agree 100%. But I def did not practice lifestyle creep. At least not in a material way. I am def one of those spreadsheet track every dollar people. No fancy houses or cars or vacations or material items. But def LIFE expenses creep. They are unavailable unless you commit to being single super saver fire freak. I was just trying to match the lifestyle I was brought up in. Lower middle class. And even that is difficult. Yes kids and divorces were my choice and fault. Yes, that’s true. But it sounds as though the OP is assisting her with things moving forward. To clarify for the Bitcoin haters, I wasn’t suggesting to put 100% of her retirement $ into Bitcoin ETF’s. Stick 80% in a solid index fund (VTSAX, SPY) and 20% into Bitcoin ETF’s. SP500 is up about 80% over the past 5 years, 170% past 10 years. While increasing her $170k by 80% before she retires in 5 years will certainly help, it’s not life-changing. With some $$ in Bitcoin over that same timeframe you can make LIFE CHANGING money.

I'm in the same situation. I have 60% cash and 40% stocks and the 10% I play options with. I have a stable job and I live WAAAAAY BELOW MY MEANS. My plan is too keep the cash big and WAIT FOR A THE GREAT CRASH TO BUY A LIFE CHANGING ASSET. I would suggest to learn option play and allocate alteast 5% of that. To me, 50k is not a life changing amount and I am way for from my target networth. Identify how much money want to have and work it out. Once you're there, enjoy life.

And o read about that and how they integrate with Nvidia and partnered with META last year and *ding ding ding* (I ignore analysts, btw, always selling, or I guess, buying, something, and creating whatever narrative that suits their purpose, like, earnings estimates revisions? Ok, maybe, Zack’s, but generally I just ignore.) And I clicked through to the company, and dutifully skimmed the copious free information, and gleaned they do other stuff than AI and have a solid business and no bloody flags in financials, so, you know, other stuff so if AI wasn’t what I thought for the company, they’d not tank, anyway, and sink my portfolio. Then accidentally clicked on a Temu ad and scrolled through some DYI project ideas awhile and almost blew $3.50 on gold paint pens before I realized it’s look all trashy and AI AI AI was back of mind still. So I googled ‘Dell AI’ and there was a ton of stuff but no stock stuff. So I added ‘stock’ to the search box and only one opinion piece popped up, andI was like, “whoa.” It seemed a completely untouched territory (I am an idiot though, so maybe there was lots I didn’t see, but nothing popped out.) And I remembered all the ratios were not crazy overvalued and saw earnings was in like, a day, so…swiped to my brokerage app and hit OPTIONS and chose one a few months out and got scared bc, max loss, $4k, but impulsively hit the BUY button anyway, but there wasn’t enough volume, and I was kind of relieved but frustrated and by morning I was too chicken, so bought some shares. ARM: On Christmas Eve in 2022, I was waiting to be sure my children were asleep before I assisted Santa, and was reading about Taylor Swift and saw an ad and was like, ‘I wonder how my phone works, even? And how am I even thinking this? Oh my gosh, this is so weird, I’m am thinking and move around and stuff and, panic at the disco!’ And grabbed The Voice of Reason’s leash and went for a run, chanting my name and address to myself to like, get my unfathomable consciousness back into my body, and thought, ‘how does my phone work?’ Which led to semiconductors and semi-consciousness, so drank some sherry I bought for cooking and filled stockings and tried to make sense of what I read and continued to hop through Wikipedia and learned about lagomorphs and monotremes awhile, then clicked back and through to iPhone and I’d seen the name Arm a few times, and clicked on it and ‘whoa! Why haven’t I heard of this? It’s huge!’ And bought some Sofbank shares next market open bc I couldn’t buy Arm. Then fast forward and my friend asked what I thought abt him buying Instacart at IPO, and I was like, “Never buy an IPO! Never ever ever…and, wait, ARM is about to IPO? Ok, scratch that, buy this one.” Read some more and saw that Sofbank was to retain 90% of the shares, and was like, “sell everything but Bitcoin and Nvidia and buy as much ARM as they allow.” He was frustrated for a few months, and then very happy. Palantir: I was sitting in my doctor’s office waiting room and reading and old magazine, Harper’s, like the new edition but it’s a storied publication. And read this piece about Silicon Valley and the I Austrian War Complex and how basically Palantir had lied and scammed for years, and recently reinvented themselves, and went to Reddit and read a bunch of people who use the software and they all hated it. I DM’d a guy, and apologized for doing so upfront, of course, and explained I held the stock and wanted to understood I should sell and after a very helpful chat, concluded that I should, and it was luckily ( or, you know, at the time, Schroedinger’s cat, could have been unlucky,) Palantir was about to report and I asked the guy if he thought I should wait, and he said that I should bc the bs machine was still running, and then I sold it.
