How did you enter the NVS put afte it tanked 10%?
Thank you. Yes I agree. I do believe with the right discipline and by not chasing moves that have already passed me by, I should be OK... Since last week I've successfully called several real moves. INTU dropping based on competition and being in hot water with their use of AI (albeit i was a few days early and ended up losing a few hundred there), then NVS with their recent failures and then META last night. I got out of my puts in anticipation for the big move this morning and was right to do so. Meta had a lot of luck involved though
2000% gain on NVS puts. I'll fucking take it even if it is only $600
I hope not. I made $700 on NVS puts and yolo'd it into SPX calls
My cock will be up too if NVS puts print
Actually 0dte till I die is a lie because I bought NVS puts on the 1st and 4th both expiring on the 18th, but i had no choice
NVS puts gonna print today

Thoughts on Novartis (NVS)???
Nothing. Just wait. I bought the following 3 weeks ago and they have popped nicely $NVS, $DIS, $TGT, $GIS and $UNH
It isn't just about past performance - it is about what constitutes both indices. The top weights of SP500 are dominated by high growth companies - the ones that tend to move the indices up. The top weights of VXUS are majority mature companies. You have a company such as Nestle as top weight. Nestle is a great company and would have returned you a small ransom over decades of time. But they are no longer a company that can carry an index. Then you have some banks, big pharma etc - nice returns, but mature and not outsized returns. So my analysis is way beyond simple surface layer. AZN, SAP and NVS aren't outpacing NVDA MSFT AMZN GOOGL META BRKa/b NFLX. VXUS only has TSM as a top weight outsized return.
The gross profit margin is exactly the same for LLY Roche and Novartis. Around 75%-80%. Except that LLY's PE ratio is 34, while NVS and Roche are at 14. Then, as I said, large US funds and friends of the Orange Man are buying up US stocks much more out of patriotism. Eli Lilly’s net margin looks high today because of one thing: obesity drugs. Roche, on the other hand: Has higher absolute earnings (profit dollars), Roche, total revenues at 80B, LLY at 59B. Roche Generates more revenue, Has multiple diversified blockbuster franchises, Has lower valuation risk, and Trades at a fraction of LLY’s valuation... **if LLY were valued the same way as European pharma, it would be worth half what it is today.**
Yeah, the S&P’s basically an AI ETF now, if NVIDIA sneezes, the market catches a cold. I’ve been looking outside that bubble: small/mid-caps like SMCI, CELH, TMDX, or PLTR still have upside. For international exposure, TSM, JD, or NVS look solid. Metals like AEM or PAAS hedge the chaos. Feels like a good time to diversify instead of going all-in on the AI hype. But still AI is here to stay and in my turn I ll stay in AI.🤖
NVS is also up so I think it may just be a sector movement, but it has def closed the door behind me
NVS recently broke out.. a potential good one
Whichever one dips the most PFE, JNJ, MRK, ABBV, BMY, AMGN, GILD, NVS, SNY
Shares of Regulus Therapeutics ($RGLS) more than doubled after the company agreed to be acquired by Novartis ($NVS) in a deal with an equity value of up to $1.7 billion. The stock was changing hands at $7.78 in midday trading after closing at $3.37 Tuesday. Shares have risen nearly fivefold since 2025 started and haven't traded this high in more than three years. The biopharmaceutical company, which specializes in medicines targeting microRNAs, said Wednesday that Novartis would initiate a tender offer to buy outstanding shares for $7 apiece, plus a non-tradeable contingent value right for another $7 a share once Regulus meets a certain regulatory milestone related to its farabursen treatment. Once the tender offer is complete, Regulus will merge with a subsidiary of Novartis and any remaining Regulus shares will be canceled and converted into the right to receive merger consideration. The deal is set to close in the second half of the year.
its not on the 'Most anticipated' list but no ones talking about NVS ? ER tomorrow morning.
Agree, Monday could be bonkers with people setting up in advance, plus any commentary from the administration as it winds up throwing gas on the fire. Not sure on the announcement timing Tuesday, so best bet could be to buy late Monday with Wed or Thurs expiration. That’s the other question for me, for industries being targeted who is likely to get hit hardest, US, ex-US, or both? GM/F or VWAGY/TM? INTC or TSMC? PFE or say NVS/GAK/etc.? Or could one rise and one fall?
If you're not shorting these companies for April 2 lib day idk what to tell you AZN FCX GSK BHP RIO NVS WFG SCCO RDY
$ALC owns 40% of the eye care industry. Was split off from $NVS. Also a good bet on an ageing population
Are trying to time the market, not a good idea, some of these choices are overlapping and not working. Such as AMD, buy nvda or more avgo. HIMS & bbai are meme stocks. If you missed the big unwarranted jump in these 2 look to exit take your profits and invest in an ETF, these are 2 will get slammed. Invest bi-weekly or monthly not daily. Diversifying across a wide range of stocks is not a good long-term plan. You have your principal spread out which will work when more centered in 5-6 companies and ETFs. Look at XLF. I'd keep appl, avgo, first solar could come back all depends on trumpy and his administration. AMZN and GOOGL are directing you towards all the mag7. META is the better-performing mag 7 currently. You need more diversification. You are tech-heavy. partial shares will work better with a low expense EFT/index fund stay with 2-3 mag 7: avgo, appl, nvda drop the meme stocks look at XLF and Berkshire-b shares NVS and Gild are better choices than hims, lly in the long run bk and sf for financial et/lng for energy low-expense wm, tmus, t for US-centric that are pretty much recession-proof
And fk my NVS
Don't beat yourself up, same story here. Every trigger I pull, instant -20%-50%. NVS , HUM, .. I never bought NVDA so you see how far that pig has gotten!
I took my profit. Taking a more conservative approach with their replacements in my portfolio - added a half position in both AZN and NVS in early trading - AZN had dropped considerably so I hope the lower cost basis will be of benefit. Also VRTX. A bit less safe, but incredible potential.
Without as many big Pharma are already engaged. [Here is one](https://fortune.com/well/2024/01/08/alphabet-google-isomorphic-labs-collaborate-ai-drug-discovery-novartis-lilly/) about Isomorphic Labs (Google) patterning with LLY and NVS. I am waiting to see how partners with MSK and Duke University - they have a lot of data on numerous aliments.
If the DEA states: “yeah, marijuana is cool” The world will get very ugly for awhile. All those people that have been incarcerated over cannabis related “crimes”…how will the government respond and pay those people for all the unjust time served? Let’s do some math: let’s say cannabis can become a $10B market if legal, based on the valuations of the companies on the market right now. If an incarcerated person, for marijuana crimes, nets the state $30k/inmate/year…how many incarcerated people does it take to meet the $10B? Well, that number is 333,333 and research says we have nowhere near that amount…but no one actually knows. https://www.lastprisonerproject.org/cannabis-prisoner-scale But the bigger question is: how much money will cannabis legalization strip from the pharmaceutical industry? $LLY is a $825.5B behemoth. $UNH is $522B. $NVS is $236B. Heck, little $PFE is $166B. And we can’t forget about JNJ, who has the only drug to market even closely resembling this category, the ketamine Spravato, which is expected to hit $1B in sales in 2024…and $JNJ is $396B. So, if you see the actual math there…the pharmaceutical companies have a LOT of market cap to risk by the DEA aka FDA allowing cannabis to be legalized at the federal level.
AZN; NVS; ASML; SPOT; ETN are all in my portfolio. Because they are great companies with great potential. There are a lot of great European companies and there is no reason to ignore them completely. Diversifying across countries is not a bad thing, even if not necessary. Look for good companies in safe countries.
I like NVS. They have a LP(a) drug coming out soon (hopefully) that will bring tremendous benefits to 10-20% of the population.
Didn't have cash to buy Dominos calls, lucky me. (Everything locked in TSM puts, NVS puts and SPY calls)
I still have hope that my 162,5 puts going to be worth something tomorrow. Already cashed out mostly +600% so I'm okay if they don't print. Also looking my Novartis (NVS) puts to go green.
I have some NVS I want to sell to buy something with more growth potential, would anything listed on OPs list work? Any recs?
BAC, NVS, JNJ, WFC are my least favorite. Sleepy, embattled or notably worse than competition
GSK, NVS, NNVC, VRAX are some that I saw on some research papers
hmmmm. obviously all in on Novartis (NVS) !
CPNG, SE, NVS - all 3 very interesting companies and undervalued from my point of view.
hilarious, was going to long NVS this week based off the news their drugs also cured food allergies and its down today
Is NVS earnings gonna be at 4pm or 5pm EST
BSX, SYK, and NVS seem interesting. I want Altria (MO) to crash and burn but not sure if I'm confident on that one lol
Thoughts on plays for this week? Here are my thoughts: Striker - SYK - call - 350$ (2/16) Altria - MO - put - $37 (2/9) Boston Scientific - BSX - call $70 (2/16) or 65$ (2/2) Novartis - NVS - call - 120$ (2/16) Super micro - SMCI - stock - just buy

Thanks. Haven’t looked at this one yet. I was thinking Merk since theyre doing peptide trials. What’s the driver for NVS? C or P?
Yeah. I sold yesterday too timed the top actually which I don't normally do. I didnt buy back today. I'm playing NVS calls next week. Earnings are gonna be a wild card. Might be priced in already because of the hype. Definitely wish you luck make that 💰
Adobe is regard friendly, not his post. Lookup NVS instead for Novartis.
LLY drug targets two gut hormones and NVS targets a single. The former, (Mounjaro) is more popular and in demand for weight loss and have produced higher losses in the studies and trials. LLY also has a new one currently in final trials that will target 3 receptors.
Does anyone know the difference between NVS and LLY weight loss drugs?
NOV is National Oilwell Varco. NVS is Novartis
AI utilization - remember data is king and those that can exploit data will win. A good example is Isomorphic Labs partnering with LLY and NVS on drug discovery. If you can shorten drug discovery time and extend protection - it is a big win.
I'll take a look. NVS has been on a run this last year. Plavicto is their horse now. Its a new (in the last 2 yrs) treatment for Prostate Ca. 6 doses at 50k each. Billable to insurance with about 15k remaining each dose. New production facility nearly completed in Indy near the airport to supply the Midwest. $100/ share might be cheap compared to 3-5 yrs from now.
Sold NVDA at 220, AMD at 105, NVS at 85, NVO at 76, AAPL at 160, to buy, with all the money PSNY at 5, 4 and 3. I'm down -50%. Forgot, sold LLY at 400, now at 585, to buy again PSNY. Polestar.
You are absolutely right. Some hedges funds squeezing even more a new ATH ... Like $LLY $NVS etc. Just insane. A stock at ATL, should keep falling and falling... Because shorts sellers laughing and longs in capitulation mode...
Keep in mind more patients on focus medications tend to be on Medicaid solely because it’s easier and free for them in most states. I was tempted to go heavy on NVS at 80 bc they were the only adderall manufacturer on the market any of our stores was able to get… didn’t and regretted it once their earnings report came up. 🤷♂️
Dude.. you're talking to a bot.. Lol. Anyway, the bot is right. The options are still valid but they are priced differently due to the payment of the dividend. According to this [information memo](https://infomemo.theocc.com/infomemos?number=53315) the price of the NVS1 options is determined as follows are for 100 shares of NVS and 20 shares of SDZNY: NVS1 = NVS + 0.2 (SDZNY) You should be able to close a position without any issues, but you likely need to contact your broker if you'd like to open a position as these options are now non-standard.
The market cap of Sandoz is estimated anywhere between 5-10% of NVS group. Which means it should move less than 1/6.
Check the date when they spun off Alcon. Alcon is 44% up since going solo. NVS not sure, but it has a good yield
Yeah I heard about ozempic a few months ago and started buying shares. NVS has several other weight loss drugs in their pipeline.
LLY 🚀🚀🚀 ISRG 🚀🚀🚀 NVS 🚀🚀🚀 https://www.miemssalert.com/chats/Default.aspx?hdRegion=3&hdtab=Hospitals
This dude called it perfectly too https://twitter.com/Tronicssystem/status/1683904760271732743?t=2Mzgg49YKW1xmiG8hg3SYg&s=19 Calls on Novartis NVS
Personally, I have no problem investing outside the US - namely in European companies. Currently own: ASML; RIO; SNY; NVS; NVO; RHHBY; VEOEY; IFFNY; PCRFY all of which I've been quite happy with. Some have really been drivers of portfolio growth (NVO, ASML)
NVS having a good start eh? Should continue given buybacks and earnings
My bad, I meant NVO (Novo Nordisk) and not NVS (Novartis). [Article](https://www.fiercepharma.com/marketing/obesity-drugs-have-blockbuster-potential-novo-lilly-and-pfizer-risks-reputation-and)
Only heard about 3 companies so far on this: PFE, LLY, NVS
I'd pick up some more defensive stocks too. Look to pharmaceuticals, they tend to do good in any market - e.g. MRK; NVO; SNY; AMGN; ABBV; NVS; GILD. They tend to have decent dividends as well, which is always nice.
LLY NVO NVS my favs
I hold LLY. A lot of Pharma stocks are very volatile. Not so MRK, LLY, NVS If you are interested in health sector stocks, look for health tech too (my favorites: SYK and ISRG). For me there is much, much more potential than in pharma. Pharma is very dependent on government decisions and health insurance organizations. And drugs are relatively easy to copy.
UNH and Abbott would round out my 3. As far as ones you didn't mention, I would be looking at Roche and Novartis (RHHBY and NVS) as some potential alternatives, though they might be too similar to Pfizer for your tastes.
>The tickers of interest that I am watching are INTC, YPF, APPS, NVS and PSNY. I believe that these stocks have the potential to make large moves in the near future and offer good trading opportunities.
Your best bets for the Car-t therapy tickets would be NVS, or GILD, both seem strong. I believe GILD is about to break out next week
I'm still sitting in cash. Thinking bottom is somewhere in Q1 To Q3. NOt going to try to buy at the bottom but after the next hard-core talk I'll head into some recession resistant stuff like NOBL, NVS, VHT, maybe GIS. I still have a bad feeling about the future and a REALLY bad feeling about Putin.
I'm in cash so if you're right we should have some awesome investment opportunities in 2023. I'm thinking: Novartis NVS Vanguard Healthcare ETF VHT General Mills GIS Dividend Aristocrat Fund NOBL
DTIL 200 millions+ cash. Billions in collaboration deal with LLY NVS. Comparable stocks CRSP BEAM NTLA FATE gene editing.
Question… If the USD is strong now, should I buy something like GSK, SNY, or NVS that’s flat or down YTD? I am thinking that if the dollar drops in value versus the euro/pound, their target markets would produce a greater profit versus US drug manufacturers which would be forced to raise their prices to make the same as now or lose out to European competition that could offer similar products?

After more digging, $NVS makes GasX. Piling in
Big healthcare -- not biotechs, the old line integrated pharma: JNJ, BMY, MRK, NVS.
I started January of this year & I’m a happy $POWW owner. It’s low enough right now where I could lower my average a bit but next week I’m focusing more on grabbing other holdings that are lower in comparison. I’m “proud” of the fact that I’m at least somewhat levelheaded & not going balls in on one stock, meme or not. One of the first things I bought was $NVS & rode that from $84.43 to $90.19! Not only did I feel like I timed it right because it’s trading at ~$86 right now & I can wait for it to go back to ~$84 but after doing more research I’m not sure I’m as bullish as I once was. I’m proud to say even in moments of positivity & profit I’m still trying to learn as much as I am in moments of negativity. In general, I’m proud of myself for even fucking around with stocks cuz I never thought I would bother but here I am & I’m doing okay. I’ve been spending more time each day trying to learn as much as I can & I think I’m proud of myself for that cuz it’s either put forth effort & grow or sit back & let things pass you by. Like you said, even if one makes a mistake they can learn a lesson but if you don’t make any moves what could you possibly learn?
BYND (S23 E 4, "Let Them Eat Goo", Oct. 16 2019) didn't do super well in the month following the episode, but if you held & sold it after a year it would have gotten a nice return. [(For reference)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6pGIHT68bo). Holding it today would kind of suck though... South Park doesn't often talk about a specific stock. Best of my knowledge there is a reference to Ritalin / NVS in S4E3, "Timmy 2000" on April 19 2000...the stock does go up after the episode, but i'm also not really motivated to do enough research to figure out if that company & stock ticker is responsible for Ritalin sales during that time outside of a quick wikipedia / google search. I can't find a video of the direct quote but [here](https://southpark.fandom.com/wiki/Timmy_2000/Script) if you search for "stocks" one of the doctors notes that Ritalin stocks are up "ten points" and that "That's easily another twenty grand apiece!". If you want a related clip of the episode, [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqItINoE5xc). I also realize this is WAY beyond your timeframe, but it is a somewhat direct mention of a stock. Recently ("Pajama Day", S25E1, Feb 2, 2022) they talked about Bitcoin. Ironically they talked about Matt Damon doing his crypto commercial and how everyone in town lost their money because of it, yet Bitcoin rallied in the days following the episode. For those unaware of the influence South Park has on a smaller scale, [Casa Bonita use to report a boost in attendance after the episode](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casa_Bonita_(South_Park)#cite_note-11) (See bottom, ref 11) after the episode about it would air. The restaurant ended up closing down during the pandemic, although in a very South Park move [they actually spent their own money to buy it](https://www.kktv.com/2021/09/28/south-park-creators-finalize-casa-bonita-purchase-31-million/). If they ever decide to actually launch [Tegridy Weed](https://www.tegridyfarms.com/) it would be interesting to see how sales would go up on episodes that mention it. I'm convinced its a reason why we still have Randy owning and operating a pot farm; they want to eventually make a real life marijuana business, but they just need it to be decriminalized before they can do it. Granted, they've done South Park for so long that they may like having Randy there just for something new to talk about.
$POWW ~ 55.9% $NVS ~ 3.91% $WRN ~ 8.58% $SCHN ~ 1.96% $STLD ~ 3.11% $DD ~ 3.48% $SNOW ~ 2.98% $CIBR ~ 10.17% $COPX ~ 1.93% $VTI ~ 1.73% $XLE ~ 6.22% I’ve put about $250 in so it’s nothing insane other than the fact that I’m insane.
I personally keep looking at JNJ, MSFT and APPL to buy in. Otherwise my trusted Big Phrma has served me well, if anyone dips i might just stock up on those (NVS, ABBV, BMY, PFE)
>Do you think Pfizer is undervalued right now due to incorrect interpretation of future vaccine and anti-viral drug sale projections? I believe Pfizer is trading at a very slight premium due to an incorrect interpretation from the market of COVID related sales going into late 2022 and, more importantly, 2023-2025. I expect such a revenue to actually taper off, not grow, sharply. >More a more general level, do you think Pfizer is going to wisely invest its covid windfall and develop great revenue streams? I think Pfizer already has invested some of the COVID related profits wisely, though they remain behind the industry average for R&D investments if I'm remembering right. Pfizer sports 89 products on their pipeline, ten of which in the process of being registered (5 COVID related). >Do you consider Pfizer a great buy or not? Is this a long term hold? The pe ratio is 13. Is that considered normal for drug companies? 1. I think, despite saying earlier it's trading at a premium, it's still a decent *investment.* I'd wait before pulling the trigger though. 2. Yes, Pfzier is a long term hold. Aside from sporting a healthy dividend TTM 3.04% yield (39.69% payout ratio), which is already attractive to me, Pfizer has a substantial stable moat in the Healthcare space. A diversified product catalogue and no patents expiring till 2028 (Eliquis comes to mind) alongside a strong distribution network all help to keep it's pricing power for drugs in the company's favor. 3. Pfizer's p/e ratio of 15.83 (where did you get 13?) is fairly competitive with other companies in the industry. Similar to other companies like $NVS and $MRK that I'd recommend to others for due diligence research.
Maybe I‘ll just delete Degiro off my smartphone, honestly. Luckily I bought everything with the intention of long term (40yrs+). Just trying to make the best decision now. I‘m used to the red since I bought BNTX at 300 and the iShares Biotech ETF right before it dived , ive been seeing red for months. Luckily NVS, BMY and NEE kept it afloat somewhat.
Novartis - NVS is my next move and praying that they start of like Moderna and other. 3 stage study for Covid medicine saving patients from hospital. Looks promising and some country’s already order and Novartis is producing already. Stock has not moved since 1 year
I invest some „fun money“ myself every month (larger savings go into bank maintained fonds). Whats the better strategy in your opinion for long term wealth accumulation and a passive income? - Buying a Diverse Portfolio of High Dividend Stocks (mostly Pharma, Energy, Consumer Goods and Tech) myself. Some of my faves being ABBV, IBM, BMY, NVS, PFE, GILD, AMCR etc. Or - Buying shares of Dividend Aristocrat ETFs I understand that an ETF is more stable, but over a long enough time, i hope that a self maintained stock portfolio is also nice. Especially since I can put my money in what I believe in. Unless my personal interests significantly change I intend of doing this at least until retirement (which is a trippy thought at 25).
My only negative YTD returns are on LOGI and NVS.
hmmm I have been reading about BX "investing" more in the life sciences lately. From yesterday: >Novartis ( NVS ) said late Wednesday the US Food and Drug Administration approved its Leqvio drug therapy as an adjunct to reduce low-density lipoprotein cholesterol in adults with a family history of high cholesterol levels. > >Leqvio is administered twice yearly, with a second dose given three months after a patient's initial dose. It is the first small interfering RNA therapy approved to treat so-called "bad" cholesterol and was initially developed by Alnylam Pharmaceuticals ( ALNY ) , which licensed the therapy to Novartis ( NVS ) > >Under the terms of a strategic financing agreement between Alnylam and private-equity investors Blackstone (BX), 50% of the drug maker's Leqvio-related royalties will go to Blackstone, the companies said.
BMY and NVS are sitting at the bottom of their ranges. Added. XLV as a whole has had a healthy pullback INMD added. Still undervalued. So many tailwinds Likewise with ATKR JPM set a new high today, and I like where financials may lead. So I bought BCS. Extremely cheaply valued major bank (look at P/B) that's getting into US consumer products, too And added more ABT. Full position now. Bullish on medical devices and this company in the long term
Everything red except for TENX and two blue chips (MRK and NVS). Better days will come!
Moderna was incredibly overpriced. Anyone who didn't see a pullback coming is out to lunch. And it's still trading at a P/S of >18. Compare that to the P/S of other major pharma companies: MRK: 4.2 PFE: 4.3 LLY: 8.1 NVS: 3.6 GSK: 2.9
BMY, NVS, NKE, V, HON all oversold
> double P/E of ABBVIE/NOVARTIS Why these businesses beyond a low p/e # though? NVS has had weak returns for a while and ABT has outperformed spin-off ABBV in the last 5 years. Is a NVS cheap or cheap for a reason? "Got some ThermoFisher, but they are more an medical engeneering company than an health company" The view imo with a TMO/DHR is that life science/lab tech is a more appealing business than picking pharma cos. To me, DHR/TMO are fantastic businesses with significant recurring revenue and long-term, that's a more appealing "get and forget" than trying to figure out which pharma co pipeline is most appealing. Abbvie has Allergan so there's some diversity there but I'd think that cosmetic is more economically sensitive and I'm still a little skeptical about buying what became sort of a mess of a roll-up (although they certainly did buy it a lot cheaper at $63B than the $160B that Pfizer offered 4 years prior.)
