So many acronyms. We have your DYOR, HODL, DCA, FOMO, BTD, DEFI, DEX, FUD, as well as many more. Lots to learn.
You can live in a house or rent it. Likewise with bonds, their are debt which pay interest. Shares mean you own a percentage of a company and can be entitled to voting rights, dividends. BTC does nothing and produces nothing (it actually consumes energy, so is a net negative) Likewise BCash, ABC, BTG, BTD, Litecoin and all the clones. Artificially scarce "things" that people gamble on via greater fool theory. Whenever I've sold any someone is simply transferring their wealth to me, without anything being produced, without any net benefit.

Maybe unpopular opinion, but people who shill/say BTD/say “best buying opp” need to disclose their recent positions.
MMs use this sub as exit liquidity. Literally one factor in the regression model is to aggregate the expressions relating to “BTD”, “Diamond Hands”, then look at buy volume in retail sizes then model out the profits / loss mitigation. Don’t make it easy to be exit liquidity folks.
The recent sell off is fomo into rdbx. When that's done it'll go back into crypto for normal summer crypto things. BTD.
Let's not make this more complicated than it has to. Crypto is at the far end of the speculative investment spectrum, and so is being dumped as people run to safety. Knowing that hard times are coming. Anything that has halved\* can halve again. We are just getting started with the correction. Let' all be careful here. Corn example. News comes out regarding a forecast on surprise really good weather for the year. Yields will shoot up and so corn prices crash to X. Opportunistic trader realizes that these forecasts are wrong, likely X * 1.1 is a more realistic price. BTD on corn futures. Farmer has no idea how to interpret the price action, just wants to sell above price X to maintain a desired ROC. Thanks to these opportunistic traders farmers can now hedge at a higher price than they would have and sell there corn output at greater gain than they would have otherwise.
Too many people in the space are here trying to wish themselves rich and understand neither crypto, monetary theory, nor macroeconomics. They've known only the post-2008 Fed markets. They expect BTD to be successful every time, despite Fed going up by >= 50bp and QT. There is a lot of air still to come out of a lot of junk, and at some point, all the leverage stacked on leverage as a result of the stuff people are doing with flash loans to yield farm is going to start causing huge failures, but who knows when. Any sharp move down could do it if it triggers enough of the right liquidations. There's still not capitulation selling you see at bottoms. People are still BTD. There's too much junk that has no reason to even exist right now with market caps into the billions. So much is undergirded by absolute air. The CME FedWatch calculator has Fed Funds futures implying an 82.9% probability of a 75bp hike in June. Look out below for a lot of stuff. I'm not holding anything but BTC and ETH.

that works when you have the lens that what your average investor actually matters in this scenario but they don't, it doesn't matter that "retail" isn't scared and is HODL or BTD or whatever else people here say to make themselves feel better. What matters is that when institutions get spooked, and you have leveraged plays on the line they'll start to close and pull out of risky assets. This is fantastic advice for new and older investors so thanks OP🤟, it’s good to practice in theory by setting up on paper your BTD (buy the dip) & see how it works out. I do this often when I don’t have fiat just to see how it would have worked out, then next time the opportunity arises I have some idea of what to aim for.

It’s clear that inflation and the unrelenting printing of money are not great things. But those who control the global economic system won’t go away without a fight. I can’t help but feel like these dips set crypto back so much and that the arguments for why/how crypto will eventually supplant fiat are based more on hopes, dreams, rhetoric, and blind fanaticism. Now don’t get me wrong: I’m buying the dip just in case. But I’m also ensuring that if I lose it all, my stocks and retirement investments will be passed down to my kids and theirs. Yelling BTD and HODL will not change the system. And having bitcoin explode 100x won’t necessarily lead to widespread adoption. I’m I spewing FUD or are others out there questioning things too?

After some gained experience in crypto, everyone here will hodl, dca and wait or buy the dip (depending on the coin, serious coins HOW strategy, shit coins BTD, usually). What else to do?
i BTFD of $FTM in December ultra hard at $1.60 when it crash from 3.5 to 1.5 BTD again here last weekend on Saturday at 2.20 when it dump to 2.10 back up to $3 bb love to see it

TA isn't about foretelling future events or price action, what it does is give you areas to look at and see how the price reacts. The Aug picture in OP's chart has a shit fuckton of lines of potential paths, seeing how price acts around those different supports and resistances can give you a slight edge in attempting to day trade if ur just hodl and DCA/BTD then TA doesn't matter, cuz net long wins in the end, TA is for short term concerns; day trades, swing trades, or if you're looking for a good entry on your weekly/monthly buy, etc
Rather than DCA bots, maybe a BTD (Buy The Dip) bot? Could just use EMAs as indicators and set a percentage drop for “x” amount of time to trigger a buy. If the price I’d falling steeper, pause the transactions and put a time delay on the scanner. I have no clue what I’m talking about…do I?

no problem. use those to BTD and use the weekly candles to see if the overall trend is still in shape. Super important to remember BTC just broke out of a cup and handle on the weekly. so IMO this could be the shakeout before a big pump.

Sure. Do it if you are a seasoned trader or a professional, but it is just safer to not touch that stuff. It's a slippery slope for the majority. I personally use margin to hedge or to BTD with just enough to cover with next paycheck. Like a personal loan.

It's all just movements by the whales, slowly take profits and bleed it down to buy in cheaper, and at the same time scoop a little more out of the hands of the little guy. It will be headed back up again in a bit, don't worry. BTD.
No real dip with BAT though. It jumped into this $1-$1.25 area and just held it steady. Good performer, and I see more growth but not a BTD opportunity.

What do you see? We've just bounced off the top of a channel. A channel that has existed since September 2020. The reason for the bounce is complicated but evergrande default and inflation are the likely spookers. Where do we head from here? That's the million dollar question. Looking at the chart, there's considerable risk to the downside given historical. It's something to watch carefully. 16250 and 16375 are critical levels. If we can reclaim 16250 in the coming sessions, it'll form a bear trap. If we move back above 16375, new ATH's coming. If neither happens, correction continues. Crypto will follow the above price movements as it has in the past. Don't believe all the tik tokers and others saying BTD and all time highs are a certainty blindly. Watch carefully or at least protect yourself with things like stop losses.

I mean, that’s great if you have some coin set aside to BTD
Remember. Basic. Arithmetic. Seriously. If coin 10x'd into the big cap range, it's probably NOT going to 10x again from that point, not for a long time. If you're in that scenario where only a 2-5x is likely and realistically only after the price crashes and corrects and takes time to return to that ATH... Well gosh, even ETH or ADA might give you a better ROI in that time. Take profits and hold it to BTD or put into another coin. The "what if" that keeps you from selling some is often a smaller percentage of low reward, high risk - if you know how to judge from market cap. Cash out to stablecoins, buy another coin, or stack stats. BTC is the bank that can double those 5-100x's you've made.
