Look at the history of recessions and reactions to them by the Federal Reserve. Goosing the economy has been getting progressively harder for them with each cycle. Recovering from the 2008 meltdown required them to set their interest rate to "near zero" for the first time in history. Recovering from the 2020 shutdown, zero interest rates were no longer enough; they also had to set the reserve requirement to zero and directly give out money to everyone, and even that was barely able to pull the economy back from the brink. The fact of the matter is: they're out of tricks in their bag, and in the next cycle they're not going to be able to keep the charade going unless they can introduce a new trick. Negative interest rates have already been introduced in some European countries, but there's an inherent limit to how effective that policy can be since individuals can simply hold cash at 0% rather than lose money to interest by holding their savings in a bank account. The IMF released a paper titled [Breaking Through the Zero Lower Bound](https://www.imf.org/en/Publications/WP/Issues/2016/12/31/Breaking-Through-the-Zero-Lower-Bound-43358), which lays out a strategy for effectively applying a negative interest rate to physical cash by creating a "crawling peg" between physical cash and a newly created electronic fiat currency, which we're now calling CBDC.

I agree but I used to spend a few hours a day researching alts in 2017, 2018, 2019, slowed down in 2020. All you're doing it checking the WP, team connections, looking for ex-scammers, the rest of it is just copy-paste roadmap/future partnerships/big announcements/etc/etc and checking for all the usual bolt-on Defi and supply traps. My doge, which I mined in 2014, far out-performed most "highly promising" alts and strong community recommendations. The market is highly irrational, random, unregulated and essentially just a Wild West place where pretty much anything can happen. All we are doing is trying to "spot" what might be most attractive to clueless investors, then hopefully sharking their money later. The coins and their promises of utility are in a distant, distant second place. Again, sorry to come across as cynical, but it's the raw truth.

Btc is my first love. Most of my plays are just to transfer profit and accumulate btc. I’m an odd duck. It took years to finally buy btc (2017). Why? Look at my account. All it was was a way to find a stealth vendor on SR. Finally became a believer after another redditor pointed me to the WP and I took some time to understand the fiat ponzi. I look at alrcoins as tech plays. I will be mocked if I share what I believe the market will be as we transition from an analog to a digital world. When these 8 year old Roblox kids grow up and spend their money on nodes in the ‘verse and other digital assets. Kids who have grown up spending $20 a week on Robux. In 2030 this cohort will be in their mid teens. Perhaps this is one reason for the recent Citi analysis of the potential Metaverse mcap. I don’t get married to these projects. Just because I believe btc will be the best reservoir of my wealth, doesn’t mean I cannot try to find projects I believe will be the scaffolding of Web3 and rotate their profits to btc.

Got $500 worth at 0.14 about a month ago, was 3,544 tokens. Now sitting at 6,351 tokens with current value $1,238. Make of that what you will, waiting for $1500, then pulling out my original investment - accounting for the 18% fee too. Then the rest is house money, may take a certain amount out each month as it says in the WP. I've been a part of a few of these high APY projects and they're all fully unsustainable. But have almost always got my original invest back (fuck you $TIME) As with anything in crypto - its a gamble.

People who act like crypto HAS to be involved in every possible aspect of life and tech. An example was a local chain that was built by some wannabees... Some sort of concervation something, to do with planting trees and tracking it (not NFTs, so not like a unique code per tree planted or anything like that). You don't need a blockchain for that, just go plant the trees already! Decided to read thw WP... turns out the blockchain component was basically a fundraining thing with some ponzi scheme setup where the more people buy, the more they burn. Their thinking was building scarcity would drive the price up... Because... magic. Also something about earning a cut of everyone's transaction fees if you hold a certain amount. The WP was just a load of fluff, rather wishy washy, yet the local yokels were all on board. The bottom line was that it had no actual utility beyond raising funds, for the devs no doubt. I couldn't figure out for the life of me why they thought anyone would buy... like what do you actually do with the token once you have... "Well, you can trade with the coins, and then get a part of the tranaction fees back as more tokens"... "Ok, but what am I trading it for, or to, what does that result in!?".... ".... tRaDINg FeES...". Oh fuck off....

I do have my own raspi node I learnt a lot from over the years but I host my btcpayserver on my virtual machine to minimise downtime (eg power/internet outages and have some scalability (not that I’m getting a heap of traffic :p) And yes WP has been great for the storefront. I started off with Squarespace which again was good to learn with but it ended up being too expensive and restrictive with functionality. It all begs the question if it’s profitable (with hosting fees, domain, support, time etc)? At this stage I view it as a learning experience and hobby that might open opportunities in future - as well as help spread the good word on Bitcoin and Lightning. Will see how we go 👍

The trust based model poses a unavoidable cost (non only monetary but of privacy, too) for simple transactions due to the mediation the thirdy party must perform. The WP proposes an alternative system where non-reversible p2p transactions are possible, thus removing the need if the trusted party and reducing that cost. That's about all there is to it. You're not wrong in bringing attention to the centralization of the network, but the meaning of central authority used in the WP is a bit different, and it leads to problems that are different from the ones you're pointing out. There it means a trusted party that prevents double-spending in an exchange of digital money. In fact it doesn't even mentions the word centralization. So the vision that you mentioned at the end has been fulfilled, because if we ask whether it is possible to do what Satoshi proposed, then the answer should be yes. The real issue with a non fully decentralized Bitcoin network is if we want to expand into something beyond that vision.

Yes but ine thing is to understand, the other is to interpret thw information. How does it compare to the other cryptos? Is this way any good or are there also other ways? And how can I value those other coins compared to this one? When I read a WP and think hhmm this makes sense and seems to be a good coin. Then I read another and think hhmm well also this one seems like a good project and so on.. how to differentiate in this jungle of coins is a real struggle that i have honestly, since most have similar characteristics, mostly audited but I'm not going through 30+ WP and audits just to find a hndful of good coins... just don't have the time..

Another thing to keep in mind is you don’t have to fully understand how something works technically to realize on the economic side or finance side that it can be a good investment. For instance I don’t know how google search engine works on the back end. However it’s not that hard to figure out google is a good company by looking at other things. For most people with no technical background finding out who made the project and their qualifications is much more important than understanding everything written in the WP.

Hmmmmmm. Reddit was very different when I made this account. The things that were discussed in the SR sub would not fly here. But being here 11 years ago and learning about btc from the sub is why it took so long for me to buy btc (late 2017). What would have been an entry point for some was a barrier to me. I didn’t want to go through the hassle and it just made me feel like I would be scammed. And because it would seem crazy to make such massive gains I would have sold. I eventually read and learned about btc. But even the sub seemed like a joke—the wizard logo and the “magic internet money thing.” It just seemed too crazy that such a thing would ever not be a joke. Not collapse. I finally actually read the WP, took time to try to grasp what blockchain was and believe in btc and crypto and decide it was worth it to jump in and never look back.

They are really focusing on how art and creativity are a representation of one's self. They are working toward a Museum platform for people to share these in a more social format. Or go to the current devnet which is already built without the coordinator and mint some NFTs just for free as people are doing in the iota ecosystem. Find some central authority to decide which state to pick eg core developers ( if they can somewhat automate this process by providing a patch ) I vaguely remember, this happening to several shitcoins ( i haven't kept track) where important nodes crashed when there was a transaction spike and the developers had to freeze the network to restore it. It also happened to BAB - Bcash2, (due to very big blocks in a row ) which has reorg protection so important nodes had to ask the dev' which chain is the main one and reorg to it manually.... **( all this times you could continually double spend your coins on both chains if you split them correctly lol )** There is something much worse than PoS, its what bcash implemented. It takes the worst parts from both systems ( Weak subjectivity and high energy consumption ) and combines it. In bcash PoW is used to \_ONLY\_ order the last 11 blocks And their community brags about how they follow the WP.... /facepalm

No what I mean is the IBS and WEF have jointly drafted 8 white papers. If you go to YouTube and search for coinbureau WEF their latest video walks through each WP step by step, breaking each down, but obviously it's preferable to also read them yourself. You should be able to use the timestamps to get the titles of the white papers then find them via a search. Ha yeah YGMI is simply an acronym for 'you're gonna make it', a kinda tagline nod to fellow cryptonians who demonstrate the requisite aptitude, logic, kahuna's and patience to survive and thrive in this environment.

I've been reading through Algos WP and website. So far I like what I see and I bought in. I even stopped putting money in ETH, which I now earn instead, and allocated that part of my budget to Algo. I know it's only in the top 20 but with their rewards systems, governance programs, actual goal dates, intended solving of the trilema, providing of updates, and encouragement for their holders to play an active role, oh and also being it's own independent block chain that is only designed to fork if it's told to, I think it will soon be a force to recon with.

I like to read EVERYTHING on their official website. If it's being displayed there and it feels amateurish or made by someone looking to bait Moon Bois, I'm out of there. A good website will give you everything you need but more in a more digestible form than digging through a 50 page academic whitepaper. If I like what I see then I'll take a brief look at their WP.

Sorry bruh. There is no “solid debate” on this. NANO has one thing for sure going for them, and that is SPEED. Currently NANO is about 300% faster than XRP- so, it takes a mere 3 seconds for transactions; depending on the exchange. That’s WAY faster than most. The good thing is that it was designed (according to their WP) to find a way to absolve slow transactions and high fees. With DPoS and DAG, NANO truly has a niche market with it low latency, record breaking transaction processing speeds, and EASY scalability what is there NOT to love about this opportunity?

I’m looking into it. Sharding with A-synchrony is somewhat promising. I see it more as a side chain the way matic is a L2 Even the head of the project talking about it says it’s not built to replace or be “an Eth killer” it’s role is to advance development in DeFI Daps. I like it more because he seems honest about it and it grew up in college labs rather than some scammers basement or corporate designed product. I’ll yolo a bit at the minimum. I do my own DYOR, than rely on YT influencers. Automod being a Nazi Im not disagreeing with you, but as I noted, even reading the whitepapers, theres still a lot to learn for newer investors about why they should invest in a coin. For example a certain crytpo is pumping recently, offering nothing explicitly unique, though it does include novel concepts. But why invest in that over any other defi product, or over the Ethereum blockchain it operates on? If you ask the average investor this, the answer would likely be "idk" is my point. Youre right, you dont have to understand the WP, but understanding it is supposed to be a part of the process. Thats why people get clowned when they dont read it, understand it, or know what it is.

I have no intentions to fraud, hurt anyone, evade taxes etc. None. I just want to try to create a future for my son, that's all) ​ The laws proposed in USA discussed here, are common in Europe. GOVT just wants to know where your money comes from. What's the problem? Is it you? Do you have anything to hide? ​ I'll tell them where my money comes from. I just won't tell them on what I spend it. That's where I want to use the blockchain for. ​ f.i. Rules to follow: Before anything, the most important rule is to at least get your original investment back as soon as possible. Taking from a coin or a token selling from your valuable bag of diamonds is a MUST. You need your original money for many things (real life bills, re investing, paying for unexpected stuff) Now as for the ongoing bull market and crypto in general: 1- If a coin/token been up for more than 3 days in a row, sell at least 30-50% your current position. Prices should drop even for a day or two, maybe weeks too. 2- if its been down for 3 days in a row, sell it as it chances are it will go down even more. Re buy if you want 3- just like you DCA in, learn to set targets and DCA out. If RSI is 90 or more for a coin/token it will go down meaning a sell will have to happen.
