I still have faith in a much higher CMC rank, they have been prepparing and developing for a future that is coming closer and closer (regulations coming down on DeFi etc.). Their decentralized identities and verifiable credentials will help DeFi function under the upcoming legislation, as well as improve digital ownership (true digital ownership) for in the metaverse en NFT2.0. The team is really smart with great vision and the will to support blockchain where they can while bridging the gap between crypto andtherealworld, it's just that the market hasn't caught onto it yet.

I can already tell you that. Vet is a failure. Look at the pathetic mainnet usage, the empty promises, the 0% marketshare in the US (no wonder, their "marketing" team there is a single guy called jason rockwood lmao), companies even stop using VET like PuffBar. Their only real customer is walmart **China**. It's always just the china divisions of any company. The way they present their "partnerships" is highly misleading. In a year Vet will probably be at rank 80 or so on CMC. They wanted to build an ecosystem with their own exchange. The exchange, like all projects running on Vet, is a failure that nobody cares about and nobody uses. All their partnerships are shady af, like realtimes. All talk, nothing else.

Here's how I started doing it: Keep a couple hundred bnb in your hot wallet. Check just added and top gainers. Create a list of red flags and green flags. Now compare. If there is something that has enough green flags you like then buy $20 bucks or so. Check again tomorrow. If up 2x sell a little more than half back to bnb hot wallet. Then move remaining shit crypto to a locked wallet... forever. Never to be sold until it's actually valuable or else you lost nothing and made a little gain. No big deal. That's all it takes. Super easy. No risk, near infinite shit coin bets. You never need to fomo because there are new coins found every day and they almost always pump for 24 hours after they hit CMC so long as you have a good list of flags you are in good shape. My green flags: Below 10M market cap (very important) Website has good design High volume (>250k) Has some social media activity Low supply (<100T) Memes arent overly derivative (babyfarmermetafloki) Binance Smart Chain

Especially in this new trent of abused Rebase scams, they just take away an amount of the coins in your wallet to ´ rebase´ the marketprice. Imagine what more things they can do in your wallet. Stay away from the rebase scamcoins , i can tell there are sometimes some very good new listed coins on CMC but always dyor or stay away from it.

It's a game coin, not a gaming coin in the sense of being a launchpad or anything like that but it's the first one I see with some solid tokenomics. They were the first ones to have an algorithm adjust everything on the game depending on the dollar price of the token so it has been exploding under the radar (CMC and coingecko haven't fully verified their circulating supply, but you can see their trading volume and trend in the last two months to realize how big they've become). Idk, it's worked out good for me. Anyhow, if you're talking about holding a gaming coin for years, probably none will exist that long. Go BTC.

Depends on your personal risk/reward preferences, and whether you "need" the money you're investing, but as a general guideline, something like 25% BTC, 25% ETH, 30-40% from maybe 3-5 decent projects in the top 100 that you've researched and like, and then the remaining 10-20% from some riskier "moonshots". 2. Lots of different apps, so just play around a bit. Things like CMC and CoinGecko let you make accounts and track your assets, too. Another thought would be, unless you intend to trade regularly (which doesn't work out well for most folks), maybe just don't bother paying constant attention to what's going on...the space moves super fast and it's easy to get overstimulated and, in a sense, addicted to the rush. If you plan to be around for a while, you're arguably better off just living your life and only checking in once in a while, without micromanaging. 3. If anyone had truly figured this out, we'd all be rich. Basically, do some research by reading the whitepaper, checking out the project's sub or other channels, etc, and then cross reference that against your investing preferences and what you think makes sense for crypto in general. DLT as particular strengths and weaknesses; does the project leverage those in pursuit of a viable real-work use-case? But also understand that in crypto, prices move as much because of hype and shilling as they do because of actual utility and merit, so it's partly a question of understanding the project, but also partly about understanding how people feel (or are likely to feel) about the project. 4. An NFT is a non-fungible token; that it, it is literally a token of which only one of its kind exists. We tend to hear about the silly stuff, like "artist sells JPEG NFT for a bazillion dollars", and that's one use-case, but the basic utility of a non-fungible crypto asset goes far beyond that...e.g., identities and other elements within games, domain names, and so on. So, yeah, the uses are a bit weird right now, but the underlying tech has a lot of promise and isn't a joke.

Can someone please explain why the market cap calculation is different in coinmarketcap vs coingecko? which one is your preference and why? my example - solarbeam: [CMC](https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/solarbeam/) vs [CG](https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/solarbeam) CMC has 16M vs CK 26M - is this because of the dilution only? or it also has something to do with TVL? Thanks in advance

I do a similar thing! I have a paper portfolio on CMC so once a month Ill reupdate all my positions after Ive been staking, take an overview and update my tax documents. Plus Ive got a long term plan so absolutely no need to check 100x a day lol

Use Proton mail and no I personally have never had any issue updating my email address. I too had to change it due to CMC leak/hack

His point is sites like CMC do not make that distinction, hence it is misleading to look at market cap as the be all end all. One needs to also consider liquidity and volume.

To be honest I still don't understand how this market cap thing works entirely but hey, CMC tells me most of what I need to know so I just go from there.

yes I agree, but also: we have no idea how high the market cap of coins can go. When DOT was launched it immediately rose to #5 or #6 on CMC with $6. This led me to believe there wasn't much growth possible for the coin anymore. A year later and the market cap of the entire market has grown by a lot and DOT has almost 10x'ed, even though it was at #5 a while ago.
