Yes, TDY is also a possible buyer, but I think AVAV sits in a better position
Saw this one a while ago and AVAV is definitely the one that fits the most if a buyout happens. TDY too. Thanks for the DD
I doubled my (small) position in RDW. I've been following for years, but held off as it peaked prematurely this year. A risky acquisition and lowered guidance due to the shutdown has pushed this back down to my original entry price, but they just opened a new facility to boost production and secured a big contract from DARPA. I sold some RKLB shares before it plunged, just to cover my initial cost and am letting the rest ride. I'll likely DCA if it continues to plummet. I've also been slowly adding TDY as it drops. Same with BTC. On the flip side I've been shoring up my more conservative IRAs with some various bond ETFs.
As someone who worked in government, this is a bad take. FDA meetings and cite inspections needed for approvals and feedback on applications and trials will absolutely be delayed. The FDA is already understaffed. You can’t pay people for TDY or travel assignments when you don’t have funding even if you retain essential personnel for primary missions.
Getting them off TDY before the shutdown 😂
i hope $RIVN CRATERES HARD TDY
TDY- highly diversified and reasonably valued. If I had more money I’d buy more
GI Joe will be on TDY for most of the year.
I started googling it afterward and that jibes with what I found. The military is kind of weird in that I could see someone on hard times who gets transferred no TDY to city two states away from their permanent station to start attacking people they don't feel they have anything in common with and then receives a per diem while there that shores up their finances temporarily. Compare that to a hypothetical E-5 who's just started a family and is on food stamps. He gets ordered to go shoot people a few miles away whom he may have actually met in real life, and then has to look his family in the eye when he gets home, and does not get a per diem above their regular salary for doing it. It's just so weird to think about.

Just need to figure out where the bottom is bc it will shoot up once the budget is passed and we have 100-150b increase. When trump says they want to cut 8% a year what they mean is the things that actually help service members related to quality of life. Housing, on post services, medical, maybe TDY trips. Those big fat juicy defense contracts that are actual waste & abuse will be flowing like never before
hearing chitchat in the city of London that Senior plc $SNR will be bid for. lonestar already bid 200p in 2021 (40% above todays close) and that was rejected. Pressure on board to act. Caz is broker. 70% of biz is high quality aerospace/defence parts impacted by temporary Boeing issue. Deal size is not an issue on $600m mkt cap. Ametek (40bn) would be a strategic with plenty of overlap in aerospace thermal management. $AME also $TDY or $TDG could be easy deal for them. Boeing issue is volume driven and temporary. only 5% is passenger cars.

$RCAT $1.67 Float 50.3M Short 2.9M= 5.7% SI 10 REASONS TO OWN $RCAT GOING INTO SEPT MILITARY CONTRACT AWARD 1. Key Government Approvals and Certifications: Teal 2 drone has received Blue UAS certification from the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) of the DoD qualifying it for rapid prototyping & deployment of U.S. armed forces technology. Fewer than 20 drone models have this credential & Teal 2 is 1 of only 2 Blue UAS systems in mass production & one of the only Blue UAS listed for sale through the GSA (expedites all US gov’t agency purchases). 2. Legislative Support: The American Safety Drone Act (ASDA) restricts the purchase of foreign drone technology by the U.S. government, driving demand for domestic UAV manufact. 3. Potential Large Contracts: $RCAT is 1 of 2 finalists for the U.S. Army’s Short-Range Reconnaissance (SRR) program (out of 37), est. value $600M-$1Bln+. SSR is a high priority program. Phase 1 was $100M for 1083 drones won by Skydio (the other finalist). Phase 2 & 3 (est. 12,000 drones) have been collapsed into one to expedite timelines suggesting that both finalists may win a portion. As the only co. to allow for lethality of the drones as well as poor performance by the Skydio product on Phase 1, $RCAT is thought to have a strong likelihood of winning at least a large portion. DoD’s Replicator program set to spend ~$1Bln over the next 24 mo. acquiring domestic UAV’s to offset China’s current dominance (75% global market share) in the field. Note: Any initial government entity contract win would likely expedite other defence agency approvals. 4. High Demand from NATO Allies: NATO and NATO-friendly countries are increasing their UAV stockpiles. DIU’s Blue UAS & ATO certifications makes the Teal 2 an attractive candidate for these initiatives as many foreign governments rely on these certifications in their buying decisions. Recent conflicts in Ukraine (has a $1Bln budget for UAS) & Israel/Gaza have illustrated the battlefield inflection for drone warfare. 5. Strong Product Differentiation Partnerships & Collaborations: Now in 3rd-gen development (Teal 3 shipped to SSR program for evaluation in May). UAS-approved, Teal 2 drone excels in nighttime operations, avoiding detection, is cyber-hardened & encrypted, & equipped with AI mapping software, lethal capabilities. Leveraging exclusive technology like First Person View (FPV), soon Flightwave’s Edge 130 propeller tech, & strategic partnerships that include AI & night vision tech from Teledyne $TDY, Athena AI & Primordial Labs, computer vision & edge compute from Reveal Technology & Tomahawk Robotics ( $AVAV co.) software. 6. Rapid Revenue Growth: Teal 2 has driven substantial revenue growth, ~$30 million run rate in just 12 mos. Q4 FY’25E (April YE) exit run rate est. @ a further 50% higher ($45M+). No DoD contract awards are in these estimates. Gross margins at scale are seen at >50% maturing to 65% which should drive OCF margins of 20%++. 7. Focus on Military and Industrial Markets: $RCAT divested its consumer division to $UMAC ($RCAT owns 4.2M shares. ~$6M) to concentrate on military & industrial. Industrial usage of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) tech by civilian law enforcement agencies, customs & border patrol (already a customer), mapping/surveying etc. is expected to grow at a 22% CAGR from $38Bln in ’23 to $244Bln in ’32. AI is rapidly improving capabilities propelling adoption. 8. Adequate Balance Sheet & Funding to CF Breakeven: As it scales, the co. continues to burn ~ $1.5M/mo. (adj. EBITDA losses have been >cut in ½ yr./yr.). Adjusting for the ATM, ITM dilutes & 6 mos since the last reported cash balance I estimate the co. to have ~ $7.5M in cash (not including ~ $6M of $UMAC shares – lock up expires late Aug ’24). Addit. expansion funding has been received from State grants as well as development funding ($3M from the SSR program). Additional non-dilutive debt funding would likely to be available as the co. only has $900K in debt, a fully-owned facility & no finance leases. As such it appears that they have adequate funding to bridge them to OCF break-even within 2 years just based on the current pace of Teal 2 sales. Any material defense contract would come with upfront payments more than adequate to fund growth (& could quite possibly dwarf $RCAT’s current market cap). 9. Manufacturing Capacity Expansion: Significantly expanded its fully-owned 13,000 sq. ft. manufact. facility in Utah to 25,000 sq. ft. & is currently running 1.5 shifts/day to meet increasing demand with the potential to scale production to over 1,000 drones/mo. 10. Valuation Upside: I see a revaluation to the $3+ range as the huge demand for defense drones gains momentum, their Teal 2 becomes recognized as a segment leader & confidence grows in their ability to execute as one of the few (only) small manufacturers able to scale production. Ladenburg Thalmann (1 of 2 analysts) sees $4 in 12 mo. just based on existing growth (no DoD program wins). They use 5X Q4F’25 (April) run rate revenue est @ $11.3M. Current valuation based on $35M in revenue for F’25 is 4X for ~ 100% yr/yr growth. (Note current qtrly Teal 2 revenue is running at a 60% CAGR). Private comparables Shied AI & Skydio are estimated to be trading at 17-20X EV/S. Industry behemoth $AVAV trades at over 40X fwd earnings despite just 12% top line growth. Foreign-listed small co. comps with similar growth rates as $RCAT, NextVision & Droneshield also trade at 30-50X P/E multiples. CONCLUSION: Revaluation to $3+ without any DoD wins. Winning any part of major programs like SSR & Replicator or contracts from other US Agencies or NATO Allies represent multiples of additional upside and therein lies the asymmetrics of this opportunity.

No, it is much more effective to cycle between whichever companies are best-priced at a given time. I won't share my current risky pick, but I did fairly well with MAXR leading up to its sale (10-bagger), plus BLL (before BALL) and TDY leading up to its acquisition of FLIR.

I recommended X NYCB and MRAM. Up. I recommended TDY and C. About same. I recommended ASB TFC and PARA. Down.
TDY, CPRT, TXRH, CLH, MODG - Most of those are still too high for my liking or are making new ath but have not had weakness to nibble into
TDY Teledyne A conglomerate of military industrial tech beasts leaning more to the industrial. What Google special projects wishes it could be. My favorite of their divisions is FLIR drones - a couple assists from their imaging division and they could dominate the drone future. Market cap 18 billion so room to grow.

Clinton changed that law to $15k around 1995. If you owe $15k or more to any state or federal agency your DL, any other licenses, permits, businesses licenses etc. they’re immediately revoked until you get that balance below $15k or go to court and get an exemption. It happened to me. I found out I had a 4 year old daughter. It was a crazy scenario. A letter from a state came with eh 7-9 other names on it all suspected of being the father. We had to submit to a blood test and I was the winner. In court my attorney presented a damn good set of arguments to keep my various licenses es and permits. They were calling it the “dead beat dad” law until it lost favor. You all wonder how I didn’t know.. well I was in the military TDY and on my last week. I met the lady had an amazing weekend. Ran out of protection said F.. it and left a few days later. Then 5 or so years later her case manager made her fill out that form of past potential fathers. She was on welfare, food stamps etc. in order to continue receiving aid she had too. I can’t imagine the embarrassment on her part.. that many guys in a 2 week timeframe. SMH But I have a beautiful adult daughter now that I couldn’t be happier to have!!

Yep. My state's incumbent workforce training program grant office has as it's sole signatory authority a GS that takes six weeks of vacation every summer, has no phone in her office which is in a different building than the rest of the IWTP division, literally no phone, and can only be reached by fax if you have not previously been given her personal work email because the position's email is handled by her executive assistant who works in the main building. And that's not even as bad as the BSEE GS engineers who just disappear on TDY or training mid project bringing 150k-500k operating cost a day jobs to a halt until the head of the Bureau can sign off on reassigning the responsibility for the area to a different GS engineer.
Don't forget the amazing GS12 tactic of "I'll get back to you next week" knowing they are about to go on four weeks of vacation followed by two weeks of offsite training to then be set on a TDY for six to sixteen weeks across the country as you wait for them to sign off on which of two ways to perform the contract your company bid eight weeks to completion on.
Kinda off topic, but when I was TDY at Ft Bliss (El Paso), a platoon of Mexican Soldiers accidentally crossed the US border during an exercise. For a minute in 2011, Mexico launch a small invasion.
I did plenty of TDY that was delayed and put back on track for local political reasons. You sit out a week in a hotel room with room service and local hookers while the state department does their thing.

Beautiful! I'm catching up, and am at -26% for the year. Do you prefer to yolo or diversify on your losing strategies? Personally, I like to focus on losing with a small core of tickers while also prospecting into new areas with smaller losses. Here is a list of the ways that I succeeded at failure this week: *Spy calls, *NDAQ calls, *DIA calls, *inverse spy calls (because fuck you too, spy) (the ticker was SPXU, apparently because it just spanks you), *NVDA calls, *AMZN fractional shares, *TDY fractional shares, *Spy calls round 2 (c'mon spy, let's just forget this little spat and be friends again), *DIA calls round 2 (the Dow Jones ETF is a fat, slow, bovinely bitch), *4 different cryptos (because why not just go ahead and try the last remaining thing and verify, for science, that my purchases literally cannot NOT immediately go tits up?) The best part? I learned nothing from any of this! Most of these should have printed. It's like somebody, somewhere, thought I was getting a little big for my britches after some recent gains and decided I needed to sit my ass back down.
Surprised nobody mentioned Tesla at 13400% since 2011 despite being 30% off its highs. But I guess if we are talking under the radar my personal favorite is TDY, incredibly well run for several decades with a 4000% return since 1999
Check out ST's Teledyne Technologies (TDY) sitting at $422 a share & TE Connectivity Ltd (TEL) sitting at $132 a share, ST has the same resources & technology already they do, plus great numbers to show for it. EV will be the go to next couple years ST has what they'll be need and more. Just a matter of time ST will get a push above $100.
Can anyone help me out with a TDA question? FLIR was acquired by TDY this week @$28/share + .07 shares of TDY are given to all FLIR shareholders. I had 10 shares of FLIR in my account and was given $280 in cash and charged a $38 reorganization fee. But i still dont see any .7 shares of TDY in my account. I know TDA doesnt do fractional shares so im not sure how i get credited for the .7 shares im technically owed.
I commented this on the original UFO DD: I'm currently building a Miltary Aerospace/ Imaging Technology List: SPCE, TDY (recently acquired FLIR), UFO, MRCY, BA, RTX, LMT And now heres where my tinfoil hat got me thinking: - UFO/UAPs entering and exiting ocean - remembering conspiracies about antarctica, ancient aliens, and ATLANTIS - WHAT TICKERS ARE FOR NAVAL TECH AND OCEAN EXPLORATION!? I think that along with military aerospace industry, they're gonna be looking in the ocean for where these things are going TO/FROM Anyone got vision on related tickers?

As odd as it sounds, Teledyne Technologies ($TDY) makes High Res FLIR cameras. That's what I'd be looking at if I were you.
How much should I put in the option call? I had FLIR options and they converted to TDY1.
**Ancillary Plays on the Military Industrial Complex** **FLIR - FLIR** Primarily known for their forward looking infrared and thermal imaging systems (it's in the name: FLIR - **F**orward **L**ooking **I**nfra**R**ed), but they also operate in visible-light imaging system, locators, measurement systems, and threat-detection systems. On January 4th, 2021 Teledyne (TDY) announced it will acquire FLIR for a cash and stock value of $8B. Each FLIR shareholder will receive $28.00/share and 0.0718shares-of-TDY, implying a total purchase price of $56.00 per FLIR share. At the time, this represented a 40% premium for FLIR shareholder. I would have like to see they run a few more years before acquisition, but oh well. Don't be a slow ape and buy this above $56.00 or if you have no interest in owning TDY. Highly likely that the acquisition will go through. **Dry & Drab overview of FLIR:** FLIR Systems, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, designs, develops, markets, and distributes thermal imaging systems, visible-light imaging systems, locater systems, measurement and diagnostic systems, and threat-detection solutions worldwide. The company operates in two segments, Industrial Technologies and Defense Technologies. The Industrial Technologies segment develops and manufactures thermal and visible-spectrum imaging camera cores and components for third parties to create thermal, industrial, and other types of imaging systems; and develops and manufactures devices that image, measure, and analyze thermal energy, gases, and other environmental elements for industrial, commercial, and scientific applications, as well as imaging payloads for unmanned aerial systems, and machine vision cameras. It also develops, manufactures, and services thermal imaging cameras, analytics software, gas detection cameras, firefighting cameras, process automation cameras, environmental test and measurement devices, security cameras, marine electronics, and traffic cameras for perimeter security, critical infrastructure, recreational and commercial maritime, and traffic monitoring and control. The Defense Technologies segment develops and manufactures airborne, land, maritime, and man-portable multi-spectrum imaging systems; radars; lasers; imaging components; integrated multi-sensor system platforms; chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosives detectors; and nano-class unmanned aerial systems, as well as services related to systems for military, law enforcement, public safety, and other government customers. It also produces multi-mission unmanned air and unmanned ground systems serving the U.S. Department of Defense and federal government agencies, public safety, and governmental customers. It has collaboration with Neurala to deliver AI-Powered industrial cameras. FLIR Systems, Inc. was incorporated in 1978 and is headquartered in Wilsonville, Oregon. [Source](https://www.marketbeat.com/stocks/sectors/aerospace/) ** Ammo - POWW** **Dry & Drab overview of POWW:** Ammo, Inc. designs, develops, manufactures, markets, and sells ammunition and ammunition component products for use in handguns and long guns in the United States and internationally. The company offers STREAK Visual Ammunition that enables shooters to see the path of the bullets fired by them; One Precise Shot ammunition, which is designed to meet various engagement scenarios experienced by law enforcement personnel in the line of duty; and Stealth Subsonic ammunition that is designed primarily for suppressed firearms. It also provides Jesse James ammunition, a jacketed hollow point projectile for self-defense; and Jeff Rann's ammunition for game hunting. In addition, the company offers hard armor piercing incendiary rounds; and ammunition casings for pistol ammunition through large rifle ammunition. The company offers its products to sport and recreational shooters, hunters, individuals seeking home or personal protection, and law enforcement and military agencies. Ammo, Inc. was founded in 1990 and is based in Scottsdale, Arizona. [Source](https://www.marketbeat.com/stocks/OTCMKTS/POWW/) * POWW is seeing increased gross profit margins (~20%), but still hasn't turned a profit--lost $1.9M in the most recent quarter, which is down from the $2.9M lost the same quarter a year prior. * Regularly has erratic and early unofficial earnings/revenue reports and guidance months in advance (especially when percentages are up substantially) * Expects $62M in Revenue for full fiscal year; increased from $14.8M revenue last year. * Intends to acquire GunBroker.com--an online auction marketplace, similar to eBay, for all things firearms (bullets, guns, reloading supplies, optics, etc.). Ammo will pay ~$240M to acquire GunBroker.com on or before March 31, 2021. Being familiar with the site, I can see this being accretive to POWW and believe that this is a very good acquisition at a more than fair price. * Completed the acquisition of Jagemann Stamping Company’s Brass Casing Division for $27M in November 2020. * Recent repurchase of 1M shares from the Jagemann Stamping Company. POWW exercised a contract right to repurchase the shares at $1.50, for a total repurchase of amount of $1.5M; sharers at this time were trading for ~$6.60 (*i.e.* repurchased 1M shares for $1.5M instead of market price of $6.6M; I'm sure Jagemann wasn't thrilled about this contract right being exercised. Seen as good for shareholders as it reduces dilution at a good price. * Ever since we’ve transitioned from waxed paper hulls to plastic hulls, the environmental pollution is evident (or maybe it just is to me because of my profession and experience) and I’ve often wondered why there hasn’t been development in this area. Well, in fact, BioAmmo (Spain) has been working on a solution to this by developing biodegradable, bio-compostable, and non-toxic hulls and wads based on biodegradable thermoplastics consisting of polymers and elastomeric polymers of vegetable and fermentative origin as the main base (~i.e.~ plant-based plastic). Ammo entered into a distribution agreement with BioAmmo to sell the shotshells in the U.S. From an ecological and environmental perspective, I applaud this, however I do question the hunter’s desire to pay a premium for eco-friendly ammo. Fascinating product nonetheless. * Very reactive; big moves on *any* company news. * Expect reactive stock moves to Federal rhetoric and legislature surrounding guns and ammo. * Expect reactive stock moves to Federal elections (POTUS and Congress). * Due to my experience in the firearms and outdoor industry and being fully aware of what's been happening the last 12-18 months within these sectors, I question their ability to sustain such dramatic growth related to ammunition and reloading components beyond calendar year 2021.

Me too. This will be my first time in Vegas without being TDY to Nellis. I’m not gonna do tourist shit, I’m just meeting up with a buddy, so your comment is correct on a coincidence.
Yeah it is exactly what I meant, I could maybe believe that 90% of us don't outperform the S&P 500, but I highly doubt that 90% of us don't turn a profit. I only use 25% of my account for swing trading, since I don't really day trade and in this bull market the gambling part of my account has been outperforming greatly the rest of my boring account which is mostly a few stocks that I have been holding for years : (MSFT, AMZN, TDY, DPZ, SHOP, F, GE, BRK.B). I almost never sell unless I feel like I need to balance my portfolio. I personally just never wanted to join an ETFs because there is too many companies or industries that I don't know anything about in them and I like to at least feel the illusion that I have some control over my investments and don't invest in companies that I don't agree ethically with.
Yeah I know I was TDY in Europe for a bit, but the contractors I had in Africa or LATAM doing the same work got paid almost double I think the best contracting spot is Colombia. High pay, FEIE, and everything’s cheap as shit. Oh and Colombian women.

I don't believe that to be correct. I had a TS SCI clearance while serving in the Army. Did my AIT at Fort Devens Ma. Served in Field Station Augsburg in Germany and Field Station San Vito in Italy. TDY at San Vito Air Station. In my interviews there was no mention that I couldn't hold any market positions. Yes marijuana is still against federal law but it's not against the law to hold market positions . I was a 98 Delta Military intelligence . We did however have to turn over all financial accounts. That's because they would monitor them for unusual deposits or withdrawals that are not normal for your pay grade. If had unusual funds in your account they would automatically do an investigation to make sure you are not being pay off by a hostile government.
